Eleven Falun Gong Practitioners Unlawfully Detained in Shenyang for Over Six Months

(Minghui.org) Police in Shenyang City arrested over 30 Falun Gong practitioners on March 20-21, 2013. Although some have since been released, ten women and one man are still illegally detained in Shenyang Detention Center.

Ms. Fu Hui, 43, is from Harbin City. Someone took her into custody in front of the Shenyang station on the afternoon of March 20, 2013. The unidentified man took Ms. Fu to Xinggong Police Station in the Tiexi District. Three police officers took Ms. Fu to a room, shackled her to an iron chair, and took turns slapping her.

Ms. Fu refused to answer their questions, so the torture continued. They shocked her legs and groin with electric batons, poured ice water in her clothing, and turned the fans on. They put a helmet on her head and struck it with wooden batons. One officer stabbed her fingers with toothpicks. The torture continued until the next morning. Ms. Fu was then taken back to Xinggong Police Station.

Ms. Fu was tortured until she became very ill. She had hypertension, heart problems, and body aches. She did not eat, was soaking wet, and lost her voice. She was transferred to Shenyang Detention Center in the middle of the night on March 21.

The staff in the detention center demanded that the police take Ms. Fu to a hospital. Ms. Fu was diagnosed with high blood pressure (>200 mmHg) and a heart rate of over 140 beats per minute. The police took her to another hospital and ordered a doctor there to fill out a form saying that her condition was not severe. The police then took Ms. Fu back to the detention center. She vomited blood when they arrived, but the police claimed that she was fine, and left.

Ms. Fu had to wear a red vest in the detention center because she was deemed highly ill.

Ms. Liu Jinxia, in her sixties, is from Harbin City. She was arrested and taken to the Shenyang Station on the afternoon of March 20, 2013.

Ms. Ren Xiuying, 72, and Mr. Liu Zhanhai, 48, from Harbin were both arrested on the morning of March 21, 2013, in the Dadong District, Shenyang.

Ms. Wu Qiuyan, 58, is from Harbin City. The police in Shenyang obtained her ID card from a practitioner in Shenyang and went to Harbin to arrest her.

Ms. Cang Yuzhen and Ms. Gao Xiufen, both 60, are from Daqing City. They were arrested on the afternoon of March 20, 2013, and taken to the Shenyang Station.

Ms. Zhao Shuyun is in her sixties, and is from Tongliao City, Inner Mongolia. She had a mental collapse due to being tortured, but Domestic Security in Dadong District refused to release her.

Ms. Xu Xiaoyan, in her fifties, is from Benxi City. The police in Shenyang obtained her ID card from a practitioner in Shenyang and went to Benxi to arrest her.

Ms. Li Yuping and Ms. Liu Yarong were arrested in March 2013.
