(Minghui.org) The Shizhong District Court in Jinan City, Shandong Province announced a verdict on December 3, 2012, sentencing Ms. Peng Guixiang, a Falun Gong practitioner and resident of Jinan City, to four years in prison.

Ms. Peng Guixiang, 61, lived in Jinan City, Shandong Province. Police officers arrested her on the afternoon of February 10, 2012, while she was explaining the facts about the persecution of Falun Gong and distributing truth-clarification materials in Wolong Garden, Wangguanzhuang, in Shizhong District of Jinan City. She was taken to the Jinan City Detention Center on February 11. On March 6, she was released from custody, but was scheduled for a later trial. The authorities monitored Ms. Peng around the clock.

Zhang Jun from the Shizhong District 610 Office in Jinan City, officials from the Shizhong District Procuratorate, and Wang Yang from the Qilishan Police Station in the Shizhong District went to Ms. Peng's home together on July 27 to harass and threaten her.

Police officers arrested Ms. Peng Guixiang on October 18, 2012 for the second time, and again detained her in the Jinan City Detention Center. On the same day, officials from the Shizhong District Procuratorate brought a criminal case against her in Shizhong District Court. On November 17, officials from the Shizhong District Procuratorate requested a trial extension so that they could have more time to fabricate evidence against Ms. Peng. The court tried Ms. Peng on November 27 without notifying her family.
