The Murder of Charlie Kirk Sparks American Youth to Sign Petition Supporting End to the Evil Chinese Communist Party

On September 17, one week after the murder of American conservative youth activist Charlie Kirk, I went to the station after work as I do every day, to talk to people about the persecution of Falun Gong by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). I made my way through the crowd waiting for the bus, asking each person to sign a petition supporting the end of the CCP.

As I approached a tall young man absorbed with his phone, I repeated my usual introduction: “Hello, I’m collecting signatures for a petition to end the evil Chinese Communist Party. Please sign to show your support.” He smiled, glanced up, and asked, “Can you tell me what’s going on?”

I explained that I practice Falun Dafa, and showed him a flyer about Falun Dafa practitioners being persecuted in China, including information about the CCP’s forced organ harvesting of prisoners of conscience. I described how the CCP suppresses Falun Dafa both inside the United States and around the world.

I also informed him about the CCP allegedly exporting fentanyl precursor chemicals to the US, contributing to the opioid crisis. I mentioned that Peter Schweizer, a conservative writer affiliated with an American think tank, discovered through his investigation that many radical violent protest groups operating on American soil are either directly or indirectly funded by the CCP, with the intention to undermine and divide America from within.

After hearing this, the young man’s expression became one of shock and concern. He asked, “So what’s the point of signing this?” I replied, “Are you aware of the cost of silence? Do you know how much money the CCP spends to cover up its crimes? Evil continues because good people like us do nothing. By signing, we are exposing evil through peaceful means.” After hearing this, he picked up the pen and signed his name.

Then he said, “You know what? I often run into you, and every time you ask me to sign, I’ve refuse to do it. Because I think the Chinese Communist Party is too powerful—signing won’t end it.” He continued, “But recently, with the assassination of Charlie Kirk, I realized people can actually be killed just for speaking the truth.”

I apologized for repeatedly asking him, explaining that I meet so many people each day that I sometimes forget faces. Just then, his car arrived. He took the flyer from me, said goodbye, and drove away.

I would have liked to ask him: Why did Charlie Kirk’s assassination move him to sign the petition? Later, I recalled that Kirk had said, “The CCP is America’s greatest threat,” and that he had often exposed the dangers of communism. Perhaps this connection linked the two events—a call to end the evil CCP resonating worldwide.

Support from a Kind Policeman

Later that same day, I ran into another young man. I approached him to clarify the truth, explained my message clearly, and shared the flyer with him.

He looked at me and said, “I know all about it.” Without hesitation, he picked up a pen and signed his name. Then he opened the wallet in his hand and showed me his credentials. I was stunned when I saw it! He was an undercover cop on duty, blending in with the crowd just like anyone else.

“We’re on your side, don’t worry,” he said. With that, he left.

This isn’t the first time I’ve encountered police officers. Usually, after hearing the truth, they say, “I know who you are. I’m a police officer, but I can’t sign your petition while on duty.” But this officer signed first and only then revealed his identity.

I’ve been clarifying the truth face-to-face in public for years. Until recently, I had never encountered plainclothes police officers—this appears to have begun only in the past few months. When he signed the petition, I assumed it was because he truly understood the CCP’s evil nature and wanted to show his support for us. His integrity and kindness deeply moved me.

“Would You Tell Me about Shen Yun?”

One day, I encountered two enthusiastic young women in the crowd, both around twenty years old. I approached them and asked for their signatures. As soon as I mentioned Falun Dafa, one of them eagerly interrupted, asking, “Tell me, what’s the deal with Shen Yun?” It was clear she had heard of the Chinese Communist Party, Falun Dafa, and Shen Yun, but was confused by the CCP’s relentless disinformation. Not knowing what Shen Yun truly was, she was relieved to finally find someone she could ask in person.

I explained that Shen Yun’s mission is to revive traditional Chinese culture by showcasing the richness of China’s civilization before communism. I said that China’s remarkable five-thousand-year heritage was nearly destroyed during the CCP’s nearly century-long rule. I then talked about how Shen Yun’s performances feature historic characters, traditional culture, and modern day stories, some of which expose the human rights abuses and forced organ harvesting occurring in China today.

I said that this is why the Chinese regime uses the mainstream American media to spread lies attacking Shen Yun, trying to shut it down and prevent people from seeing it. After hearing this, the girl who asked the question happily said, “I’m going to tell everyone what I learned!” They both signed the petition calling for the end of the Chinese Communist Party.

Inspiring People’s Kindness and Opening Their Minds

After signing the petition, some people engage in conversation. I always express my appreciation for their support and the importance of inspiring everyone to participate in stopping evil.

I bring their attention to the true nature of the CCP, noting that its tactics include sowing discord among people, instigating conflicts between different groups, inciting hatred, and spreading disinformation. I tell them that it is essential to be open-minded and to learn the truth. Books such as Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party as well as How the Specter of Communism Is Ruling Our World will really help people open their minds.
