(Minghui.org) I began practicing Falun Dafa in 2005 and joined a Fa study group shortly afterward. Despite threats from evildoers, harassment by police, and government lock downs during the pandemic, nothing stopped our group from studying together regularly. We also do the exercises, send righteous thoughts and go out into our community to clarify the truth about Dafa to people. We followed Master Li’s instructions and diligently accomplished all that was asked of us. Our group united as one to achieve the same goal.
In my second year of cultivation, three other practitioners and I split into two groups and went out to distribute truth-clarification materials, hang up Dafa banners, and post informational stickers. We went from village to village, leaving no household behind. Sometimes, we visited two or three villages several miles away, and it was almost dawn before we returned. On winter nights, when we couldn’t post the stickers on frozen telephone poles, we would warm the stickers with our hands before applying them.
As the pace of Master’s Fa-rectification progressed, we switched from walking to riding bicycles and electric tricycles, allowing us to cover more area. We had no holidays and also switched from distributing our informational materials at night to talking to people face-to-face during the daytime. We always distributed the CDs and USB flash drives face-to-face to minimize wasting Dafa’s resources.
My electric tricycle was built for Dafa. In 10 years, I’ve only replaced a few tires and the battery twice. It’s a comfortable and fast vehicle, carrying us to clarify the truth, hang banners, post stickers, and transport supplies every day. We travel about 50 kilometers a day, sometimes 100, resting only to recharge. The tricycle has never broken down, and it has traveled a total of over 50,000 kilometers (32,000 miles).
We pay attention to cell phone security and don’t use them for communicating with each other. We’re not afraid of trouble and choose talking face-to-face when we have something to discuss. I feel the practitioners around me are like sparkling gems.
Wu is a 52-year-old practitioner who lives in the countryside. She’s willing to endure hardships, is highly motivated, and never neglects the three things Master Li asks us to do. While she cared for her daughter-in-law who was recovering after childbirth, she made truth-clarification materials for us. Every day, Wu goes out to talk with people about Dafa, and we never run out of materials.
Wu truly cultivates her xinxing. Before practicing Dafa, her family was poor, and had only three bungalows with dilapidated walls. She looked down on her husband and had a bad temper, yelling at him and their son when things were not going her way. After practicing Dafa, her family built a new house. Her son was admitted to a university, and now has a healthy son.
Wu was considerate and cared for her husband. She cooked his favorite meals and even fetched him water to wash up. Even when he spoke rudely to her, she didn’t lose her temper. She smiled and said, “It’s helping me improve my xinxing. I should thank him!” Their family was happy and harmonious. Everyone in the village said she benefited from practicing Falun Dafa.
Wu once said that she experienced xinxing tests every day, and that her husband helped her improve her moral character. For example, when the food was ready, she called her husband to eat but, for some reason, he yelled at her. She remembered that Master said it did not matter whether something that happened was good or bad, they were all good things, because they arise for cultivation practice.
Wu said that if she got angry, it was due to sentimentality and, as a Dafa cultivator, she did not want an attachment to sentimentality. She did not become angry with her husband because the incident was meant for improving in cultivation. Therefore, Wu calmly explained her thoughts to her husband and used the Fa principles she learned to resolve his emotional outbursts. His anger then disappeared.
Since Wu’s son and daughter-in-law both work out of town, Wu looks after her six month old grandson. Wu’s daughter attends middle school in the county town, and Wu picks her up every week. Her husband is home alone working and tending farm land. Wu seizes the opportunity to participate in group Fa study, do the exercises, and talk to people about Falun Dafa. She prioritizes the three things a practitioner must do.
Wu sometimes went out to talk to people on Fridays, and her daughter-in-law brought her back home around noon. Before going home for lunch, she came to my place first and told me, “Wait for me! After I get home to have some food, we can go out together and pass out Dafa information to people we meet.” When she gave her daughter a ride to school, she would always ask me to go with her. Wu did this so she could clarify the truth with me on the way back.
Li is a 70-year-old practitioner in our group. Her husband passed away over 10 years ago, leaving her with tens of thousands of yuan in debt. With her two sons away from home, she farms their 1.5 acres of land. She has now paid off the debts and saved some money. She studies the Fa, clarifies the truth to people, is enthusiastic about group Fa study, and recites the Fa diligently.
Before practicing, Li had uterine surgery and was frail. After practicing Falun Dafa, her health improved and she is able to do everything. Her husband, frightened by the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution of Falun Dafa, forbade her from practicing, often beat her, and didn’t do any household chores. But she still cooked and served him food after he returned from the fields. She said, “This helps me improve my xinxing.”
Amidst family conflicts, Li considers herself a cultivator and acts accordingly. Her eldest son and daughter-in-law rarely came home, and when they did visit during the Chinese New Year holiday, they would complain about her being messy and unclean.
Sometimes, during holidays, they didn’t bring anything for her and asked for things for themselves instead. It was once almost Chinese New Year, and the eldest son said he had bought 10 kilograms (22 lbs) of beef. Li thought her son bought it for the family, so she didn’t buy any beef. But on the 29th day of the lunar year, her son came home without any beef.
When her eldest son ran out of money, Li gave him the money she’d saved. Her second son, already of age, hadn’t yet started a family. The neighbors were outraged, but she always smiled calmly, saying, “Nothing that happens to a cultivator happens without a reason.”
Li possessed extraordinary willpower. Her house requires a 30-centimeter layer of earth for all floors. Last autumn, after the harvest, she pulled 30 cubic meters (about 1000 cubic feet) of earth from the field and placed it on the street. The earth was so wet, she worried it would remain damp. So she spread it out layer by layer to dry in the sun, then used a small garbage cart with one wheel to transport the earth home.
Every morning, Li went out to clarify the truth and help people understand Dafa. In the afternoon, she moved the earth home. When her clothes got wet, she took off her cotton jacket and put on a coat. Others remarked, “At your age, this is no small task; even a young man couldn’t do it.” By the end of the month, the five rooms were padded, and the 30 cubic meters of earth had been moved inside.
Fang is a member of our Fa study group whose in-laws live in a neighboring village, while her parents’ home is a Fa-study site. For the 26 years since the CCP began persecuting Falun Dafa, she has attended group Fa-study sessions almost daily and continues to distribute informational materials to clarify the truth. During the peak time of the persecution, we would walk at night, going from village to village, distributing the materials door to door and often didn’t return until near dawn. To avoid police cars, we waded through deep cornfields, ditches, bushes, and muddy puddles. Fang fell countless times.
Fang once accidentally got sticky glue stuck on her hair while putting up truth-clarification signs. On this freezing winter night, her hair froze. She went home and fell asleep. When she woke up, she realized what had happened to her hair. On another occasion, Fang’s coat was too big for her, and it was overfilled with truth-clarification materials, which spilled all over the ground. Other practitioners saw this and alerted her, so she rushed to pick up the precious materials and put them safely away.
Li needed to go out of town to visit her grandson, so someone else had to make the pamphlets. Fang took over the task without hesitation. She had often complained about her large belly, which she felt was unsightly. Fang had been making truth pamphlets for less than four months, when she discovered that her clothes felt much looser. She weighed herself and found she’d lost eight pounds while helping with the material production work!
I went to the home of the coordinator of our information production project one day. The coordinator pulled out a stocking filled with money from a drawer and emptied the money out, saying, “Look, this is from a practitioner. I shouldn’t accept it, but it’s a token of this person’s heart.” I saw one, five and ten yuan bills. There was also a stack of old one-hundred yuan bills. When I saw this, I almost cried.
We could only imagine how the fellow practitioner saved the money and how long it took her to save it. Dafa truth-clarification materials are inexhaustible. It’s not because practitioners are wealthy, but that we have hearts as pure as gold to help others know the truth about Dafa.
Amidst the harsh persecution and these difficult times, fellow practitioners have never wavered in their faith in Master Li and Dafa. They are all cultivating themselves and assisting Master in the Fa rectification of this world.
