Some Falun Gong practitioners in Jiaozhou City of Shandong Province went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. The local political judicial committee directed the police department to incarcerate them in the mental hospital of Jiaozhou City. (The name of the hospital has been changed to "Psychological Rehabilitation Center", but only mental patients are treated there.) The Falun Dafa practitioners were tortured in the mental hospital including forced injections and medications.

According to Xin-hua Net on May 31, the people' court of West District of He-fei City sentenced Falun Gong practitioner Wu Yun-rui, former deputy director of the An-hui Tourist Bureau, 3 years of imprisonment, Jiang Feng 3 years of imprisonment and Yang Jing-fang one year of imprisonment, under fabricated accusations.
