GENEVA, Mar 19, 2001 -- (Agence France Presse) Up to 800 followers of China' banned religious group Falun Gong protested in front of the UN' European headquarters here on Monday to coincide with the opening of the annual session of the Human Rights Commission.

BRUSSELS (AP)--European Union foreign ministers agreed Monday to support a U.N. draft resolution that is expected to condemn China' poor record on human rights, but backed away from co-sponsoring it. The resolution is to be debated at the U.N. Human Rights Commission annual meeting in Geneva starting Tuesday.

BRUSSELS, Mar 19, 2001 -- (Agence France Presse) The European Union will express concern over "serious" rights violations in China at the 57th session of the UN Commission on Human Rights in Geneva this week, EU foreign ministers said here Monday.
