Forty-Four Prominent Americans and Various Organizations in Hong Kong Oppose Article 23
(Clearwisdom.net) Radio Free Asia reported that the panels on Security and Administration of Justice and Legal Service of Hong Kong Legislative Council held the fourth public hearing regarding the implementation of Article 23 on November 28. The report said that student association representatives from many universities and colleges attended this hearing. Some student representatives pointed out that several years ago, the Hong Kong government pledged to not abuse the "Public Security" article. Yet recently, it charged three people with illegally assembling by using this article. The students worried that the Hong Kong government would abuse the law after the implementation of Article 23. Some student associations were also concerned that the Hong Kong government was attempting to expand the authority of the police while narrowing personal freedoms and human rights in Hong Kong, and that Article 23 would make young people feel less safe.
Defeating the Evil's Attempts to Use Article 23 of Hong Kong's Basic Law to Extend the Persecution

(Clearwisdom.net) During the three years of the evil force's persecution of Falun Dafa, in addition to the relentless acts inside China that have been ruining countless innocent lives, the evil has made every effort to carry out the persecution overseas. The Jiang regime has not hesitated to persecute overseas Dafa practitioners by hiring thugs and hoodlums to threaten and intimidate Dafa practitioners, denying practitioners' passport extension applications, threatening overseas practitioners' relatives and family members in China, attacking practitioners' e-mail boxes, and so on. They have even resorted to the use of diplomatic pressure through economic and trade relations to force democratic countries to obstruct Dafa practitioners' peaceful protests. And now, with its most recent attempt to enact Article 23 of the Basic Law of Hong Kong, it is clear that the evil wants to legalize the persecution of Hong Kong's Falun Gong practitioners.
World Journal Daily: Falun Gong Practitioners in Boston Call for Help to Rescue Their Family Members Who Are Being Persecuted in China
(Clearwisdom.net) World Journal Daily reported on December 1 that the MIT Chapter of Amnesty International (AI), the MIT Human Rights and Justice Association, and the MIT Falun Gong Club jointly held a symposium entitled "Rescue Our Family Members Who Are Suffering in China." The meeting was part of the global "Rescue our family members" campaign launched by Falun Gong practitioners.
