Analysis of the Deceptive Logic Used by the CCP with the "Self-immolation" Fabrication
(Clearwisdom.net) Since the fire on the eve of the Chinese New Year in Tiananmen Square four years ago, the CCP media has had a new topic for "exposing and criticizing" Falun Gong. With the Chinese New Year right around the corner, the Xinhua News Agency and CCTV is focusing once again on this old news, which it repeats every year. The purpose of all this propaganda is to repeatedly emphasize the lie that the "self-immolators" are Falun Gong practitioners, and that Falun Gong teaches people to commit suicide.
Chinese Central Television (CCTV) Rehashing the Staged Self-Immolation Incident -- The Last Struggle of the Old Forces Before Their Destruction
(Clearwisdom.net) On January 23, 2005, after watching the CCTV "Focal Point Interview" (rehashing the staged Self-Immolation incident) I immediately shared my views on the issue with my fellow practitioners. One practitioner asked, why is the evil so rampant at these last moments of the Fa rectification? Is it because we still have omissions as a whole, which are taken advantage of by the evil? Another practitioner said, "Now that the evil has been eliminated to the greatest extent, how could they be able to still have such an impact? This has complicated our truth-clarification effort to a great extent." Some other practitioners felt much pressure and even developed fear, wondering if the evil could mass greater attacks in the near future. They said that the end of the year (Chinese Lunar Calendar) is approaching, and this was generally the time when the evil looked for loopholes to persecute practitioners. Maybe we should watch the situation quietly for some time before doing anything to clarify the truth.
US Members of Congress Write to Ambassador of China to Again Express Their Serious Concerns about the Imprisonment of Dr. Charles Lee
(Clearwisdom.net) On January 27, 2005, US Members of Congress Anna G. Eshoo and Tom Lantos jointly wrote a letter to Mr. Yang Jiechi, the Ambassador of China to the USA, to again express their serious concerns about the imprisonment of Dr. Charles Lee, who was arrested on January 22, 2003 upon arrival in Guangzhou Airport and has already served two years of his three year sentence on charges of sabotage. In light of Dr. Lee's heart condition and physical and mental abuses, the Members of Congress requested that he be released immediately.
