In 2002, a judge from the Jiagedaqi District court sentenced Ms. Li Yushu, a Falun Dafa practitioner, to a 12-year prison term. She is detained in Area 10, used for ill people, at the Heilongjiang Provincial Women's Prison in Harbin City. To protest the persecution, Ms. Li has gone on a number of hunger strikes since 2004. She is now very weak and emaciated.

In December 2007, prisoners Cai Lin and Yuan Anfen were assigned to monitor Ms. Li Yushu. Despite her being on hunger strike, police ordered them to beat and insult her daily. Cai Lin, who weighed more than 85 kg, sat on top of Ms. Li. Once, Ms. Li shouted: "They are killing me!" Police officers Zhao Xiaofan and Ji Na came and said: "Who killed you? Aren't you still alive? You are not the only one who has been through this."
Ms. Li Yushu, 59, was a director of the Mohe County Board of Education of Heilongjiang Province. She lives in Jiagedaqi. She was arrested and sentenced because she practices Falun Dafa.
Between September and November of 2003, Ms. Li and other practitioners went on a hunger strike to protest their detention and torture. They were force fed for 47 days, with the feeding tubes removed only once a week. Practitioners were chained together back to back and forced to sit on the floor. They were not allowed to sleep. In December, police twisted Ms. Li's arms behind her back and injured them by tying them too tight. The prisoners assigned to monitor them were Song Libo, Wang Fengchun (already released), Guo Shuxian, and others.
In the beginning of 2004, Ms. Li and several practitioners from Area 8, Building 5, were locked to the headboard of a bed. They went on a 3-month hunger strike. They were not allowed to sleep. The prisoners assigned to monitor them were Song Libo, Zhao Yanhua, Zhao Liping, and others.
On August 2, 2004, Ms. Li went on another hunger strike. Police tied her to a bed and covered her mouth. Then they force fed her. In November, she was locked into a solitary confinement cell in Area 9 and then again on February 3, 2005.
Ms. Li Yushu was on and off hunger strikes for more than two and a half years before the beginning of 2007. She was confined in a solitary cell in Building 4, which was used to hold ill prisoners. The prisoners Wang Xinhua and Yuan Anfen, assigned to monitor her, tortured and humiliated her.
