(Clearwisdom.net) I am seventy years old and began practicing Falun Dafa in 1999. I had only one year of formal schooling. Due to my illiteracy, I had concerns about learning how to read but I was completely struck by the profundity of Dafa. To be a diligent disciple I thought that I must learn to read. If I couldn't read Zhuan Falun, how could I keep up with the Fa rectification process? Therefore I wrote words that I didn't know on slips of paper and took them around with me. Wherever I went, I asked people how to read them. I read, recited and wrote day and night. I felt that I made rapid progress and achieved good results.
On July 20, 1999, the CCP started to persecute Falun Gong on a massive scale. I didn't flinch from it. I believed that Falun Dafa is good and that it is right that Master teaches us to be good people. I didn't stop studying the Fa, practicing the exercises or learning how to read. During several of the early years after I started to cultivate, I cried too much due to my husband's death and couldn't see things clearly. I even nearly lost my eyesight. I begged Master to give me good eyesight so that I could study the Fa diligently.
One month later when I was studying Zhuan Falun, I felt something like sudden lightning before my eyes and my eyes became bright. I could then read every character in Zhuan Falun clearly. I cried in excitement and thanked Master for restoring my eyesight.
I started to read Zhuan Falun by myself in 2006. In 2007 I could read with other practitioners in the group Fa study and I also memorized Hong Yin I. I am currently memorizing Hong Yin II. In the whole process of learning Chinese characters, I felt the mighty power of Dafa and have enjoyed the happiness of learning to read.
To ordinary people, time is money. They pursue good food, good wine, playing around and having a good life. But to a cultivator, time is life. To save as many sentient beings as possible in a limited time is the mission and hard task that Dafa practitioners shoulder.
Master said:
"I hope that every Dafa disciple won't overemphasize the form of things. Your own cultivation, your own improvement, your validating the Fa amidst the evil, saving sentient beings, and steadfastly doing well going down the path that you should take are what's most important." How big a responsibility we shoulder!
I have been to the homes of the president of the local court, the director of the Organization Department, the director of the Finance Department, the Chief Prosecutor and the director of the County Police Department to persuade them to withdraw from the CCP. The whole family of the president of the City Court withdrew from the CCP and expressed their thanks to me. The son of the director of the finance department also quit the CCP. Some people have withdrawn and some haven't. Some threatened me and some tried to have me arrested. I let go of life and death and save sentient beings in an open and dignified manner. Master has been protecting me all the time.
In June of this year a medical examination showed that my daughter suffered from breast cancer. I was very upset, but I quickly realized that the chance for me to come to the city to save sentient beings had come, so I hurried to my daughter's home. My daughter was once not respectful to Dafa so I asked her to write a statement to declare what she had done null and void and publish it on the Minghui/Clearwisdom website. I also asked her to sincerely recognize her mistakes. I asked her to constantly recite, "Falun Dafa is good". As a result her operation went smoothly and she didn't need radiation or chemotherapy. A CT examination showed no cancer cells and she was discharged from the hospital.
In the one month I stayed in the city, I didn't stop my morning exercises, sending forth righteous thoughts or Fa study. I persuaded more than three hundred people to withdraw from the CCP. The whole family of a shop owner withdrew from the CCP after I told them the facts about the evil CCP and its persecution of Falun Dafa. As a result his business went extremely well and he was very thankful to Dafa practitioners. Another typical example happened one day as I walked past a transportation terminal and saw a mother and daughter sitting on the ground with seven or eight bags around them. The daughter's face was gray-yellow and colorless. I went to them and clarified the truth to them about Falun Gong and the persecution but they didn't believe it and even bad mouthed Falun Dafa. But I was not discouraged. I used myself as an example. I had recovered from all of my diseases after I practiced Falun Dafa. I talked with them for thirty minutes and they started to accept my materials and believe in what I told them. They started to recite, "Falun Dafa is good" and Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good". Then their bus came and I helped them to put all the bags onto the bus. They were really moved. Soon the daughter's face had color and she stood up and said to me with a smile that her mother wanted to thank me and invite me to go to their hometown to clarify the facts. People there were not able to know the truth. They kept asking me to come there until the bus moved. So, sentient beings were waiting to be saved. As long as we keep our efforts and clarify the facts to various people according to their attachments, we will succeed under most circumstances.
One day five laborers came to me. I said to them that they had worked hard and talked with them about how corrupt the society and government officials were and gave specific examples. Two of them didn't want to listen and kept going straight ahead. I stopped them and asked them to listen patiently. I told them why people should withdraw from the CCP. Eventually all of them withdrew from the CCP.
Similar situations happened quite often. I know that Master was encouraging me. As long as ordinary people are still deceived by the CCP, I will not stop clarifying the facts. I went to the home of the director of our local education department and asked them to quit the CCP. The whole family withdrew. The Party secretary of my local community committee also knew the truth and intentionally protected us. The most important thing however is that they positioned themselves correctly.
In 2008 I persuaded more than 1300 people to quit the CCP. I still have a long way to go to achieve what Master requires us to do. I will continue to fulfill my mission and catch up with the Fa rectification process.
