(Clearwisdom.net) Today's report relates persecution incidents that took place in 24 cities or counties in 11 provinces. Thirty-one Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to brutal mistreatment during detention, and at least 21 practitioners were arrested.

Ms. Liu Minluo and Ms. Huo Junmei, employees from the Shijiazhuang City No. 2 Mechanic Factory, visited Ms. Tan Xiuying (who had been released 20 days before) the afternoon of December 23, 2008. Ms. Tan's brother reported them to the police. Personnel from the Yuxing Police Station in Yuhua Street arrested Ms. Tan, and Ms. Liu, and Ms. Huo fainted and fell to the ground. Ms. Tan and Ms. Liu were taken to the city detention center on December 24, 2008. Ms. Liu's family asked to visit her, but officials there told them that Ms. Liu had been sentenced to one year of forced labor. Ms. Tan is probably also sentenced to forced labor.

Ms. Zhu Zongrong, 62 years old, was arrested on February 20, 2008, and is in the Gulin County Detention Center. Personnel from the county's 610 Office, from the Domestic Security Division, and from the Procuratorate Department sentenced her to four years in prison.

Ms. Wang Daixian, 60 years old, is from Wenge Village, Taiping Town, Gulin County. Police officer Liu Qiang arrested her on July 10, 2008, because she distributed Falun Gong flyers. Ms. Wang is in the county detention center.

Personnel from the Lanshan 610 Office in Linyi City arrested Mr. Liu Yongjin and took him to Tai'an Prison's No. 5 Ward on June 18, 2008. They sentenced him to seven years. Mr. Liu had severe hepatitis B infection and tuberculosis and had been refused admission to the Jinan Prison and Linyi Prison. He is being abused in Tian'an Prison, and his health is deteriorating.

Ms. Zhou Pinglin, nearly 70 years old, lives in the Jinan City University dormitory. She distributed Falun Gong flyers on January 9, 2009, and the police arrested her.

Personnel from the Zhonghua Street Police Station arrested 60-year-old Ms. Liu Shuzhi and 60-year-old Ms. Sun Yuhua from Chengde City at the Morning Vegetable Market on January 9, 2009. Her whereabouts are unknown.

Ms. Li Jizhen and Ms. Sun Qingxiang from Yishui County were arrested on November 19, 2008, and sentenced to two years of forced labor on December 25, 2008. They are now in the Jinan City Women's Forced Labor Camp. Mr. Yan Peiguang was sentenced to one year of forced labor and is in Wangcun Forced Labor Camp.

Ms. Liu Li from Zhaodong City was held in the Harbin City Drug Rehabilitation Center for two years. Her term ended on January 11, 2009, but No. 3 Division chief Liu Wei extended her term by one month because Ms. Liu Li refused to write a detention diary.

Personnel from the Weifang City Domestic Security Division arrested Mr. Ge Kun in July 2008. He is in the Changle County Detention Center in Shandong Province. Police often abuse and torture him. They undressed him and poured cold water on him to make him freeze in December 2008.

His case has been transferred to the Kuiwen District Court in Weifang City.

Shijiazhuang City Education Institute Security Section chief Duan Xinyue and others arrested Mr. Liu Jiting on March 6, 2006, when he distributed Falun Gong flyers. They took him to the Hongqi Police Station. The police then sentenced him to three years in prison and took him to Jidong Prison. His term was eventually shortened by eight months, so his term should have expired on January 5, 2009, but Jidong Prison officials refuse to release Mr. Liu.

Ms. Yu Zhenling from Sanjia Village, Xiachu Town, Rushan City, was sentenced to one and a half years of forced labor.

Police arrested Ms. Zhang Meiying from her home in Fengyidian Village, Fengyi Town, Longkou City, the night of October 26, 2008. Police ransacked her home and took her to Zhangjiagou Detention Center in Longkou City. Ms. Zhang was sentenced to one year of forced labor.

Ms. Sun Cuilan, employed by the Qilu Petrochemical Technology Company, was arrested on January 6, 2009, for distributing Falun Gong flyers. She is in Zhangdian Detention Center.

Mr. Yan Fulu, 35 years old, from Matou Village, Suncun Town in the Licheng District, works the Guodian Metal Factory in Jinan City. The police arrested him and put him in Guanzhuang Forced Labor Camp in Zhangqiu City on July 6, 2007, for a one and a half year term, which ought to have expired on January 6, 2009. When Mr. Yan's family arrived at the labor camp to pick him up they were told his term had been extended by one month.

Police arrested Mr. Guo Jishu and took him to the Jidong County Detention Center on December 18, 2008. His case has been submitted to the county court. He has been on a hunger strike since his arrest.

Ms. Yu Yuanling from Yangzhuang Village in the Hedong District, Linyi City, was sentenced to one and a half years of forced labor and taken to the Shandong Province No. 2 Women's Forced Labor Camp on December 29, 2008. No.2 Division chief Zhao Changqiang in the district's police department tried to coerce toMs. Yu to sign a statement, but she refused. Zhao Changqiang eventually forced Ms. Yu's son sign the document and extorted 600 yuan from him.

Laizhou City Court officials planned to put Mr. Ren Ruoqiao, Mr. Pan Yujun, Mr. Lu Jianguo, and Mr. Li Yufu on trial at 8:30 a.m. on January 16, 2009.

The police arrested 62-year-old Ms. Wang Qiuru from Pujiang County at a fair in Shou'an Town, Pujiang County, and took her to the town police station on January 9, 2009. She was then transferred to the county detention center. Five policemen, including Ren Yong from the county police station and Yu Bangfu from the town police station, ransacked Ms. Wang's home and confiscated Falun Gong materials.

A practitioner from Sanxing Town, Shuangliu County, was arrested and beaten for distributing Falun Gong flyers in Dalin County.

Ms. Zhou Yaping from Shuangliu County, who had been held for three and a half years, was released on December 28, 2008.

Ms. Wang Shuying from Jitian Town, Shuangliu County, who had been held for two years, was released in December 2008.

Fengrun District Court officials put Ms. Sun Xiuyun, Ms. Chen Lijuan, Ms. Jin Shuxia, and Mr. Niu Jiming on trial in November 2008. Ms. Sun, Ms. Chen, and Ms. Jin were taken to Luquan Women's Prison on December 17, 2008. Mr. Niu was admitted to Jidong Prison on December 19, 2008.

The police arrested Ms. Pang Manli and her husband, Mr. Jiang Junqi, from their home in Dadian Village, Jiaodong Town, Jiaozhou City, the night of January 10, 2009. They ransacked the home and confiscated a computer and 10,000 yuan in cash. The couple is in the Ligezhuang Police Station.

Mr. Li Huixiang and Ms. Zhang Jing from Beidianzi Village in the Yuhong District, Shenyang City, were followed at 6:00 p.m. on January 6, 2009, when they were distributing Falun Gong flyers in Caotai Village. Ms. Zhang escaped, but personnel from the Masanjia Police Station arrested Mr. Li, ransacked his home, and put him in the Yuliang Detention Center on January 7, 2009.

Mr. Chen Zhenbo was arrested on December 27, 2008, for distributing Falun Gong flyers in Pingdu City. He was taken to the city detention center and sentenced to forced labor 13 days later.

Ms. Li Yanxia is from Donglangyue Village, Tiangongying Township, Xinji City. She was arrested on July 26, 2008, when she went to request the return of a confiscated photo of Master Li from the township government. She is still in the city detention center.

Diaobingshan City Court officials put Ms. Hu Ying on trial and sentenced her to seven years in prison in December 2008. She was transferred into the Shenyang City Women's Prison Complex on January 4, 2009. Ms. Hu was tied to metal rings on the ground and deprived of restroom use. She has been tortured severely since her arrest in July 2008.

Police in Taishan City arrested 50-year-old Ms. Chen Huaying from the Haiyan Huaqiao Farm and took her to the city detention center at noon on July 27, 2008. They then sentenced her to one year of forced labor. Ms. Chen is now in Sanshui Women's Forced Labor Camp.

Several practitioners from Yishui County were arrested on January 8, 2009. They included Mr. Zhou Guisen and his wife from Wenzuo Village; Mr. Liu Benshan and his wife; Mr. Yu Junhuai and his wife from Xiashuoyu Village, Zhuge Town; and Mr. Wang Yiming from Zhuge Town. Personnel from the Gaoqiao Town Comprehensive Administration Office went to Ms. Wang Peiye's home and arrested her husband. They confiscated Dafa books and a satellite dish. Her husband has been released.

Ms. Tang Xingrong was on trial for only 20 minutes as of 9:00 a.m., January 9, 2009.

Mr. Li Linbang and his wife, Ms. Su Yurong, from Nanning City were arrested in August 2008. The couple was tried in the Jiangnan District Court at 9:30 a.m. on November 25, 2008. Mr. Li Linbang is in the city's No. 3 Detention Center, and Ms. Su is in the No.1 Division.
