(Clearwisdom.net) Divine Performing Arts has wrapped up in Montreal and moved on to its next mission of pleasantly surprising crowds of theatergoers at Radio City Music Hall in New York. The audience unanimously agreed that what they saw was nothing short of spectacular.
Suzanne Larose, a retiree and Montreal native said, "It's really good! Very pretty, pretty costumes. They [the dancers] are agile and well prepared."
Julienne, a retired cashier was impressed with the MCs' linguistic abilities, "They are hosting in three languages! It's really something, it's really good," she laughed. Andre Soriol, an accountant called the Spectacular "excellent", saying, "The dance is very dynamic, very touching. I really like the different explanations given by our hosts. It gives a certain understanding about the performance to come. Frankly, it's really good! I really liked the grace of the flower performance where the young ladies were all dressed in white and pink ["Flowing Sleeves"]. There was elegance, a fluidity in the movements that was completely spectacular." Jean Soriol was moved by the dance, "Heaven Awaits Us Despite Persecution," which depicts a Falun Gong practitioner who, after being separated from his wife and young daughter, was killed for his belief, but eventually ascended into heaven. Soriol commented, "That scene was really good. The costumes, the body language, it was really marvelous." Soriol's niece, an elementary school student, intuitively sensed the diligence of the performers. "I think it is really good and I think they worked really hard," she said. Her favorite number was also "Flowing Sleeves," which according to her, was "really a tremendous piece."
Mr. Fleury, a retired teacher, appreciated the magnificent exposure to a foreign culture. He said, "It is a really beautiful show, really well organized. It allows us to better know about Chinese culture, classical and traditional."
Jacques Carrier, a professional musician who composes music for films and corporate projects said, "The show is pretty majestic; a really good performance. The choreography is balanced all throughout the show, which uses the stage in a very consummate way. The choreographer did a tremendous job as well as all the dancers who had to do incredible movements in a short period of time. It's very lively. It's very bustling." He gave a thumbs-up for the music too, after listening attentively with a trained ear. "The music is extraordinary. In terms of the scores, it is very efficient. They're doing a very good job of having a live orchestra playing with the dancers because it's so synchronized and very interesting. It becomes harmonious and the costumes are fantastic. Everything is colorful, everything is balanced. It's a balanced show. Cinematographic and theatre productions have been mixing world music together for many years now, whether it be African, Asian, or [music from] other parts of the world. But to be able to assemble them in a composition, and to do it well... it was really well done in this case."
Mr. Carrier summed up his impressions by calling the Spectacular "a breathtaking performance, pleasant to the eyes and ears."
