1. [Jilin Province] Mr. Li Wenjun Force-fed in Jiutai Forced Labor Camp

Mr. Li Wenjun is being held in Jiutai Forced Labor Camp and is being force-fed twice a day with salt, laundry powder, and urine. Inmate Sun Shuyou is one of the perpetrators. As a result of the brutality, Li Wenjun is vomiting and has diarrhea. There is blood in her stool.

2. [Leshan City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Hu Runlian Unconstitutionally Held in Shizhushan Detention Center

Ms. Hu Runlian from Leshan City was reported to the police while she spoke with someone in Muzi Town, Leshan City, about the Chinese Communist Party's atrocities. It happened in the afternoon of January 3, 2009. Officers from Pengshan Road Police Station arrested her and held her in Shizhushan Detention Center in Leshan City.

3. [Chongqing] The Police Arrested Three Falun Gong Practitioners

Officers from Xietaizi Police Department in Chongqing City followed and arrested Ms. Li Qili, Ms. Liao Changzhi, and Tang at around 8:00 p.m. on January 15, 2009, as the three distributed Falun Gong flyers. When their families demanded their release, the police said they were only going to detain the practitioners for five days, but they transferred them to the Jiulongpo District Police Department in Huayan City the next day.

4. [Anshan City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Li Ruigang Cannot Take Care of Himself As a Result of Abuse

Mr. Li Ruigang is being held in the Liaoyang County Detention Center in Liaoyang City. The court has sentenced him to three years in prison without evidence. He can no longer take care of himself. Prison officials refused to accept him, so he is still in the detention center. He has been on a hunger strike for more than three months and is extremely weak and emaciated. The detention center authorities refuse to allow his family to see him.

5. [Dandong City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Sui Shuhua Fell Ill As a Result of Persecution

Ms. Sui Shuhua is a 67-year-old practitioner from Dandong City. Zhenxing District Sidao Police Station officers arrested her the day before the 2008 Olympics and took her to the Fengcheng Detention Center. Her family went to the police station many times and requested her release, but the police refused to let her go home. They took her to serve three years of forced labor in October 2008. Ms. Sui was taken to Masanjia Forced Labor Camp in Shenyang City in November 2008. She was diagnosed with acute tuberculosis. All the cells for women were fully occupied at the time, so the police took her back to Fengcheng Detention Center. She has become weaker.

6. [Shanghai] Ms. Tang Weimin Disappeared

Ms. Tang Weimin, a resident of the Xuhui District in Shanghai, works for the Shanghai Theatre. Xuhui District 610 Office agents arrested her from work in early February 2008 and held her in the Qingpu Brainwashing Center until November 2008. After returning to the theater, her superiors refused to let her work, and 610 Office agents continued to persecute her. She disappeared from her home in the Minhang District on December 31, 2008.

7. [Heilongjiang Province] Authorities at the Changlinzi Forced Labor Camp Attempting to Get Permission to Cremate Mr. Na Zhenxian's Remains

Mr. Na Zhenxian died in 2005 from gross abuse and torture. Almost four years later, officials from the Changlinzi Forced Labor Camp and from the Xiqin Township Police Station in Shuangcheng City went to Mr. Na Zhenxian's home on January 20, 2009. They demanded that his family sign an agreement to allow his body to be cremated on January 22, 2009. They refused.

8. [Dandong City, Liaoning Province] The Police Arrested Mr. Xu Yanfeng from Home

Officers from the Dandong City Police Department Security Division broke into Mr. Xu Yanfeng's home. They arrested him, his wife, and their one-year-old daughter on January 29, 2009. His wife and daughter returned home later that night. They took Mr. Xu to a hotel and did not let him sleep for four days and four nights, during which time they tortured and threatened him. They sentenced him to four years in prison. The other three practitioners who were arrested that same day were each sentenced to two years of forced labor.

9. [Juye County, Shandong Province] Mr. Ning Zhiqun Sentenced to Seven Years in Prison

Officers from the Juye County Domestic Security Division and from the Tianzhuang Township Police Station broke into Mr. Ning Zhiqun's home in October 2007. They ransacked his home and arrested him. They took his wife the next day and let her go only after extorting 3,000 yuan from her. Juye County Court sentenced Mr. Ning to seven years in prison in October 2008. Mr. Ning is now in Taian Forced Labor Camp in Shandong.

10. [Yinan County, Shandong Province] Ms. Xue Li Still Held in Police Custody

The police arrested Ms. Xue Li from Yinan County on December 27, 2008. They also ransacked her home and took valuable personal belongings. She is still in police custody.

11. [Liuan City, Anhui Province] The Police Arrested Ms. Tang Xiuqin and Ms. Lu Rui

Someone reported Ms. Tang Xiuqin, in her 40s, and Ms. Lu Rui, in her 50s, from Chengguan Town, Huoqiu County, Liuan City, to the police. It happened as they spoke with people about Falun Gong in Huhu Town, Huoqiu County, on January 3, 2009. The women are now being held in Shilijing Detention Center in Huoqiu County.

12. [Beijing] Ms. Li Shuping Arrested

Someone reported Ms. Li Shuping from Jiuxian Village, Yanqing County, Beijing, to the police on January 5, 2009, as she spoke with people about the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party. Yanqing County 610 Office agents and those from the Jiuxian Village Police Department ransacked her home and arrested her the next day, January 6, 2009.

13. [Yongzhou City, Hunan Province] Qiyang Anti-Riot Police Arrested Zou Jinfeng
Qiyang anti-riot police arrested Ms. Zou Jinfeng from Qiyang County, Yongzhou City, on January 15, 2009, in Lianhuatang as she handed out Falun Gong flyers and advised people of the importance of quitting the Communist Party and its affiliated organizations..

15. [Liaoning Province] Ms. Chang Xueling Abused at the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp

Ms. Chang Xueling is in her 40s and used to work for the Seaport Authority. Communist Party agents persecuted her many times for her belief in Falun Gong and have held her in Masanjia Forced Labor Camp. According to someone released from Masanjia, guards at the camp beat Chang Xueling in November 2008 when she refused to sign a document and they also forbade family visits.

16. [Baoji City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Yu Jinlin Arrested and Taken to the Baoji County Custody Center

Police officers and 610 Office agents from Caijiapo, Qishan, arrested Ms. Yu Jinlin at work. She was employed by the Weihe Tool Factory, also called the No 702 Factory in Baoji City. The arrest happened during the 2008 Olympic Games. They took her to the Baoji County Custody Center. The court has secretly sentenced her to four years in prison. Ms. Yu has been taken to Xian Women's Prison.

17. [Baoji City, Shaanxi Province] The Persecution of Mr. Shang Yongfa

Someone fabricated charges in March 2008 against Mr. Shang Yongfa, a 50-year-old resident of Tutaizi Village, Feng County, Baoji City. The police ransacked his home and arrested him. He was released after paying his captors 1,000 yuan extortion.

Longkou police officers approached Mr. Shang the morning of November 27, 2008, as he was working in the fields. The police declared they only wanted to have a brief conversation with him, after which he could go home. Once they arrived on the main road the police took him away for two years of forced labor. Mr. Shang is now in Zaozihe Forced Labor Camp.

18. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] The Persecution of Ms. Liu Changqiong

Officials from the Wenjiang Aeronautics Department's No. 7111 Factory, from the Wenjiang District Police Department, from the 610 Office, and National Security officers ransacked the homes of many factory employees that are practitioners. They arrested Ms. Huang Yingbi, Ms. Li Mingxiu, Mr. Kan Zhongquan, Ms. Liu Changqiong, Mr. Huang Zesheng, and others. Everyone except Liu Changqiong has returned home. Ms. Liu is now in the Wenjiang District Detention Center. Her family received a notice on January 17, 2009, saying an arrest warrant has been issued for her, and she will receive a prison sentence soon.

19. [Rushan City, Shandong Province] The Electricity to Ms. Ni Shunli's Home Shut Off Nearly Two Years Ago

Ms. Ni Shunli's son, Ni Gaojian, was twice sent to serve forced labor sentences. After he returned home, the police cut off the electricity supply to his home (he lives at the home of his mother, Ms. Ni Shunli). That was almost two years ago.

The police arrested Ms. Ni Shunli on November 23, 2008, for exposing the Communist Party's crimes and later gave her two years of forced labor.

20. [Shandong Province] Weifang and Changyi 610 Offices Arrested Practitioners in Baojiaying in Taibao Township

The Weifang and Changyi 610 Offices and officers from the Taibao Township Police Station arrived in three police cars at the home of Mr. Sun Huaisen at 8:00 p.m. on January 15, 2009. They climbed over the wall and jumped into Mr. Sun's yard. The persecutors broke into his house and arrested him. They took him to Weifang Detention Center. They also took his television, computer(s), copying machine(s), VCDs, two boxes of incense, and Falun Gong books. Detention center authorities refused to accept the weak and ill practitioner. He returned home the afternoon of January 18.

Three other practitioners living in the Xiashan District were arrested that same evening.

21. [Rushan City, Shandong Province] 68-year-old Ms. Zhang Sujuan Sentenced to Four Years in Prison

68-year-old Ms. Zhang Sujuan from Rushan City was sentenced to four years in prison for speaking out against the unjust persecution of Falun Gong. Friends of the family found out about her prison sentence. Two days before she was taken to the Jinan Women's Prison they had told her family to prepare daily necessities for her.

22. [Chengde City, Hebei Province] The Persecution of Ms. Wang Guirong

Chengde City police arrested Ms. Wang Guirong, in her late 50s, on July 13, 2008. Chengde City 610 Office, the Judicial Department and the Procuratorate conspired to sentence her to 11 years in prison. They recently transported her to Shijiazhuang Women's Prison in Hebei Province. It is said she now needs assistance to walk.

23. [Huhehaote City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Mr. Ren Zhigang Sentenced to Prison

After six months of detention, on January 15, 2009, officials sentenced Mr. Ren Zhigang from Huhehaote City to four years in prison.

24. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] The Persecution of Ms. Liu Hengping

Qingdao City 610 Office extorted 45,000 yuan from Ms. Liu Hengping on January 16, 2009. Ms. Liu was then released from Dashan Prison in Qingdao City. Details of her arrest:

Someone reported Ms. Liu Hengping to the police in the spring of 2008 as she spoke with people about Falun Gong. Officers from the Jinmen Road Police Precinct in Qingdao City went to her rented home in an attempt to arrest her but failed. Officers from the Jinhu Road Police Precinct in Qingdao City succeeded in arresting her on December 16, 2008, and took her to Dashan Prison in Qingdao City. They ransacked her home and took Falun Gong materials, bank deposit slips, and about 1,000 yuan cash.

Qingdao City 610 Office called her family on January 12, 2009, saying they had sentenced Liu Hengping to two years in prison and would soon taken her to Wangcun Prison. They promised to release Ms. Liu if her family paid 40,000 yuan. When the family complied, the persecutors instead demanded 50,000 yuan. After some bargaining, the officials accepted 45,000 yuan before releasing Ms. Liu.

25. [Macheng City, Hubei Province] Additional Information Regarding the Persecution of Mr. Dai Congli

Mr. Dai Congli, a resident of Huangtugang Town, Macheng City, is in his late 50s. He has been persecuted many times for practicing Falun Gong. 610 Office agents, Huangtugang Town officials, and local police arrested him in August 2008. They took him to the Tangxunhu Brainwashing Center. Although he did not give them any information, they still sentenced him to 20 months of forced labor. He was tortured at Division 9 at the Shayang Farm, a forced labor camp, until he became blind in both eyes, paralyzed below the waist, and on the brink of death. Mr. Dai was twice taken to a hospital for emergency treatment during his unconstitutional detention, but his family was never notified.
