(Clearwisdom.net) The Divine Performing Arts (DPA) recently held several shows at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C, and many Chinese people were in attendance.
Mr. Zhou, a Chinese teacher, said: "It is precious. No other show can be
compared to this one. It is beyond people's imagination. Both Chinese and
Westerners were touched." "The show not only manifested the essence of
Chinese culture, but also manifested the essence of universal human
values,"
he said. "The show is not only traditional, but also new. It is new art
rooted in traditional Chinese culture."
As a Buddhist, Mr. Zhou said: "The fundamental thing in Chinese culture is belief. The essence of Chinese culture is divine. But as the culture has been destroyed, modern people don't know clearly what 'divine' means."
"The DPA shows the origin of the culture. The shows stem from the tradition, but are higher than the tradition. The shows tell the truth of the universe, and demonstrates the meaning of life and origins of humanity through art."
Mr. Zhou believes that the spirit of the show illustrates the universal values of human beings, and that the DPA will lead the new trend of art for humanity.
A different Mr. Zhao, an employee of a foreign investment company in China, said, "Watching the Divine Performing Arts show is not just an artistic enjoyment, but an enlightenment. I understand much from the show, like breaking through a spiritual shell. When watching the show, I continuously absorbed the content like a thirsty person drinking water.
"True happiness is rooted in our hearts, not in the outside world. Continuously pursuing material fame and [self] interest, and neglecting virtue and morality will only keep one stuck with material desires. We can only find our way when we respect gods and emphasize virtue. Otherwise, we will become more and more degenerate.
"The shows in the mainland are just for business or politics, it [the
Chinese Communist Party] destroyed art in the name of art. But the Divine
Performing Arts show is totally different; so fresh, it is true and pure art. It
is not only inheriting the tradition, but also developing it. It is the most
fabulous, attractive, elegant, and diligent performance I have ever seen. I feel
the compassion and hard work of those artists.
"Such a good show! If they can perform in China, it will definitely change
people's hearts and improve social morality. It will change China, help
Chinese people return to our traditions and save our souls at a fundamental
level."
Mr. Lu, a media reporter from China, also highly praised the show. "It is very precious. The art and profound spirituality of the show are both perfect. The stories are touching. They have both traditional and modern values. It let me see the hope and beauty in the darkness." The program which exposed the persecution touched Mr. Lu the most. "The contrast between the righteous and demonic, compassion and evil, and darkness and brightness touched my heart. I cannot help crying."
"The artists' efforts are impressive. No matter what culture you are from, and no matter how old you are, you can sense their spirit. Art has no boundaries and compassion has no boundaries."
Ms. Shen came to America three years ago. She said she could not stop crying during the show. Especially when the lyrics of the last song showed up on the background, the line "Learning truth is the hope of being saved," touched her heart and she burst into tears. She said the line reminded her of some miracles during the Sichuan earthquake.
Her relative told her that during the Sichuan earthquake in May 2008, many survivors were those who knew the truth about Falun Gong and had helped Falun Gong practitioners, or those who had quit the communist organizations. Due to those miracles, many local people believe that learning the truth is their hope of being saved.
Ms. Shen said: "The show fills my heart and body. I learned a lot about Falun Gong. I will tell what I learned from the show to my friends in China."
