Since December 25, 2008, Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Zhu Baojuan from Jianye Township in Linghai City, Liaoning Province, after returning from Shenyang Women's Prison Hospital, has still been detained at the Jinzhou No.2 Detention Center where she was illegally held. It was said that Ms. Zhu had been bleeding as a result of her ovarian cancer for some time. Her family demanded to visit her several times, but was denied each time. Guards from the detention center disregarded her critical condition and used abusive language to her and her family.

2. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Lawyers Harassed for Appealing Cases for Practitioners
On October 10, 2008, after receiving heavy sentences from Wuhou Court, Chengdu City practitioners Ms. Zhong Fangqiong and ten others went to appeal. Despite pressure from the authorities, their lawyers managed to submit their appeals.
On January 5, 2009, out of the few lawyers who successfully submitted their appeals and entrusted documents, only one received any response. He was told that the cases, including Ms. Zhong's, had been "concluded."
On January 12, the lawyer who is defending Mr. Liu Jia went to Shengdu City Middle Court. He asked for a meeting with the judge in charge of the case and a photocopy of his plaintiff's case, but he was refused.
From January 12 to 14, for three days in a row, ten lawyers from Beijing went to Chengdu City Middle Court to demand a meeting with the judge in charge of the case and photocopies of their plaintiffs' cases. Court authorities refused to comply with demands with the excuse that, "The Judge went out of town." The lawyers were not given any other details.
On the 15th, the fourth day of their efforts, practitioners' lawyers went to Chengdu City Middle Court to demand a meeting with the judge in charge again, and were once again turned down. Currently, the lawyers have submitted their complaints to the Chengdu City's People's Congress.

3. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Female Practitioner Kidnapped
Recently, a group of officers from Changchun City Jingyuetan Police Station illegally arrested a female practitioner in her 40s. She is being held captive in the C District of Chuncheng City Jilin Province Women's Prison, where currently about 250 practitioners are being detained.
4. [Jilin Province] More Than 250 Practitioners in Jilin Province Women's Prison
Prior to October 2008, 120 practitioners illegally detained in Jilin Province Women's Prison. In November and December, many practitioners were secretly transferred in from other provinces, which increased the total number of practitioners detained. Now there are 250 practitioners in the prison. They are being tortured in the the so-called "Educational Prison," where they suffer through forced brainwashing sessions so they will be "transformed." Everyday they are forced to sit on a stool from 5 in the morning, until 9 in the evening, and they are not allowed to talk to each other.

6. [Tianjin City] Yuan Hua's Residence is Under Close Surveillance,
Chen Yumei Illegally Sentenced to Forced Labor Camp for 15 Months
On November 14, 2008, Falun Gong practitioners Ms. Chen Yumei and Ms. Yuan Hua from the Daguang District in Tianjin City, were arrested at Liujiakou in the Shuangnan District. Police officers ransacked their homes after the arrests. Because Ms. Yuan is elderly (72 years old), police officers lied and said they were taking her home. After she led the way to her home, they pulled out a search warrant and ransacked her home. From then on, Ms. Yuan's residence has been under surveillance. Her local police officer Zhang Qiangm is forcing her to report to the police everyday, in addition to ongoing threats. Police have forced her daughter to keep constant a constant watch on her. Ms. Chen was "illegally sentenced" to forced labor for 15 months and is being held in Banqiao Women's Forced Labor Camp.

On January 14th, 2009, a practitioner's home in the Fengtai District was ransacked, and the practitioner was arrested.
8. [Shanghai City] Ms. Liang Jie Arrested
When Ms. Liang Jie from the Jiuting District in Shanghai City was handing out informational materials and clarifying the truth in a supermarket, she was reported by the security guards in the supermarket. Officers from the from Songjiang Police Station came and arrested her. Currently she is being held in the Songjiang Detention Center.
9. [Changle City, Shandong Province] Mr. Gao Yuxiang Arrested
Around 2 p.m. one day in January, three police officers from Qiaoguan Police Station in Changle County suddenly broke into Mr. Gao Yuxiang's home and arrested him. He was taken to the Qiaoguan Police Station.
10. [Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Shuchun's Family Harassed Before the Chinese New Year
Ms. Zhang Shuchun, in her 40's, has been a steadfast practitioner of Falun Gong. She lived in Taishang Village in Xinzhuang Township, Zhaoyuan City. She has been continuously harassed by her local police officers and officials. Her home was ransacked several times and she was forced to leave home and wander about for the past eight years. Recently, claiming they are just "visiting" her, evil people from Zhaoyuan City went to Ms. Zhang's home to harass her family in order to find out her whereabouts.
11. [Xixia, Shandong Province] Ms. Gao Weili and Ms. Wang Shuyun Face Prison for Practicing Falun Gong
When Ms. Gao Weili and Ms. Wang Shuyun were clarifying the truth about Falun Gong, they were reported and arrested. They are still illegally detained in Xixi Detention Center. It is said that both of them are about to be sentenced.
12. [Mengyin County, Shandong Province] Mr. Shi Shaoxin Arrested and Detained at Mengyin Detention Center
On December 29, 2008, Mr. Shi Shaoxin from Yelaoyu Village in Taoxu Township of Mengyin County was arrested by police officers from the 610 Office. Currently he is being detained in at the Mengyin County Detention Center.
13. [Xinji City, Hebei Province] Ms. Lu Xiaocha Sentenced to Forced Labor
Around noon, on August 18, 2008, three officers from Xinji City Police Bureau suddenly broke into Ms. Lu Xiaocha's home in Donglangyue Village, Tiangongying Township. They threatened Ms. Lu by saying that someone reported her and forced her to hand in truth-clarification materials. They forced her husband to open up their safe. When they saw some DVDs, they assumed there were related to Falun Gong and confiscated them. It turned out that they were DVDs used by their child at school. Still, using them as "evidence," three officers pushed and dragged Ms. Lu into their vehicle. Her husband attempted to stop them but was beaten to the ground.
At 2 p.m., people from the police bureau called and said that Ms. Lu was being detained at the detention center. The next day when her family went to visit her, she was taken to Shijiazhuang City, where she was detained in Nanzhan Huichanglu Detention Center. When her family went to see her there, they were denied access. Later she was sentenced to 15 months of forced labor, without having been tried or charged with any crime. She has been detained in the No. 4 Team in Hebei Province Women's Forced Labor Camp since then.

14. [Hebei Province] Hengshui Detention Center Tortures Ms. Zhong Dongqin and Ms. Qiao Huarong
During the Beijing Olympics, Ms. Zhong Dongqin was illegally arrested. She has been detained at the Hengshui Detention Center ever since. During her detention, she was illegally brought to trial. Even though she is in her 70s, she is being forced to do hard labor. If she fails to finish her work, she is tortured.
When Yizhou practitioners Ms. Qiao Huarong and Ms. Zhong Dongqin were detained together, she suffered even more brutal torture. One time, Ms. Qiao passed out for 12 hours. The guards did not get her any emergency treatment. Instead, they took to shocking the center of the sole of her foot with electric batons. They also forced a tube down her throat so she could be force fed.
15. [Xuchang City, Henan Province] Without Being Released at the End of His Prison Term, Mr. Yang Jianjun Illegally Sentenced Again
In 2007, Mr. Yang Jianjun was illegally sentenced to forced labor for 18 months. This year when his term was finished, he was transferred to Anyang, where he continues to be detained. Recently he was illegally sentenced to 10 years imprisonment by the court. Currently Mr. Yang is appealing to the court.
16. [Jing County, Hebei Province] Ms. Sun Suying Arrested and Funds Extorted from Her Family
On December 16, 2008, Ms. Sun Suying and another practitioner from Guangchun Village in Jin County went to a supermarket to deliver truth-clarification calendars and copies of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party. There they ended up being arrested by local police officers. At the police station, officers interrogated and searched them and confiscated their money and other personal belongings. Police officer Zhang Wenzhong and another officer separated Ms. Sun from the other practitioner. They put Ms. Sun in one room, handcuffed her hands behind her back, and took turns beating her with leather belts. Ms. Sun ended up with wounds all over her body. When she was trying to clarify the truth with them, police officers began to hit her in the face. Police officer Gao Hongliang wrote something down and then forced her to leave her fingerprint on. He yelled and screamed at her. In the end, they extorted 8,000 yuan from Ms. Sun's family, and they 5,000 yuan from the other practitioner's family. Until the money was received, the police officers were not going to release them.
17. [Panzhihua City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Guan Xuezhi and Mr. Han Yingcheng Have Been Imprisoned for Nearly Five Months
Mr. Guan Xuezhi and Mr. Han Yingcheng from Tongde Village in Panzhihua City were arrested by Wu Yongkang and other officers from the Domestic Security Brigade in Renhe District Police Sub-Bureau. They have been detained in Wanyaoshu Detention Center in Panzhihua City for nearly five months. Police officers did not allow their families to visit them. Their cases have been taken to Renhe District Court, and they are awaiting trial.

18. [Xinjiang City] Mr. Cao Hongqi Beaten at Xishan Detention Center in Wulumuqi City
Mr. Cao Hongqi, in his 70s, is currently being detained at Wulumuqi City Xishan Detention Center. In December 2008, when police officers were interrogating him, Mr. Cao shouted, "Falun Dafa is wonderful! Heaven will eliminate the CCP!" For doing that, this 70-year-old man was beaten.
19. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Yan Lanying and Ms. Lei Yunxia Arrested
On January 16, 2009, when Ms. Yan Lanying and Ms. Lei Yunxia were explaining the truth and handing out informational materials in Chongzhou City, they were arrested by Jiezi Police Station officials. Later he was taken to Chengdu City Fangcao Street.
20. [Meizhou City, Guangdong Province] Two Practitioners Arrested and Detained at Qinhuang Detention Center
Around January 3rd, an elderly man by the last name of Liu was arrested at Wenhua Park. The next day, his home was ransacked. On the afternoon of January 8, Mr. Xie Tiansun's wife was arrested from home (Mr. Xie had passed away). Evil people ransacked their house and stole material goods and money from her. Both of them are detained in the Meizhou City Qinhuang Detention Center.
21. [Kunming City, Yunnan Province] Fude Police Station Arrests Practitioners
It was said that when some practitioners were handing out truth-clarification materials at Fudejiamen Floria in Kunming City, they were taken away by Fude Police Station officers.
