(Clearwisdom.net) It has been over nine years since the persecution started. For our practitioners, it is a big test in our cultivation path. In order to pass the test, we must treat it with righteous thoughts. However, this persecution has still lasted for over nine years, which suggests that we have not treated it with righteous thoughts as a whole.
In the last Fa lecture before the persecution started, "Teaching the Fa at the Conference in the Midwest-U.S.", the last sentence Teacher said was, "Under trying circumstances of any type, you must all keep steady in thought. Just by staying unaffected you will be able to handle all situations." My understanding is that Teacher was actually telling us how to face the upcoming persecution and how to pass this test. In fact, we did not meet Teacher's requirement and keep righteous thoughts. Instead, we treated it with human notions.
The human notions are manifested in two aspects. One is the attachment of hoping that the persecution will come to an end, so we can be freed from the harsh environment. Therefore, we are attached to the time the persecution will end and are thus relying on changes in the external environment and on the actions of ordinary people to end the persecution. Not long ago, we became attached to the prophecies that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) would collapse during the Olympics. Now, we are relying on lawyers and the justice system. The other attachment is the fear of persecution. There are many manifestations in this regard. The main result is that we cannot diligently validate the Fa and save sentient beings. Many of us have not passed this test. We treated it with human notions, not righteous thoughts.
In order to end the persecution and pass this test, we must face it with righteous thoughts and let go of the notion of self and all attachments. Although the persecution has taken place, we need to act as if it never happened. We need to continue on our path without pursuit or fear, let go of human notions and do the three things well. We will validate the Fa and save sentient beings with compassion. With pure thoughts and compassion, we can reject the evil arrangement. Then, the old forces will no longer have any excuses to continue the torture. Therefore, we will end the persecution and pass this test.
