(Clearwisdom.net) Today's report relates persecution incidents that took place in 19 cities or counties in twelve provinces. Twenty-one Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to brutal mistreatment during detention, and at least 19 practitioners were arrested.

Mr. Luo Xianbo from Macheng City was sentenced to four years in prison in early 2008. He is being held in the No. 4 Ward, No. 2 Team, at the Fanjiatai Prison in Shayang City.

Mr. Luo's family was informed of his extremely high blood pressure at 10:00 a.m. on January 31, 2009, and that they needed to come see him. The family drove to the 250-mile distant prison in Shayang City. They found Mr. Luo comatose. The family requested his unconditional release, but the officials refused.

Ms. Tang Chengying has ascites as a result of poor conditions and mistreatment in the Longquan Prison in Chengdu City. She was taken to the Shuangliu Police Hospital on January 25, 2009.

Mr. Wang Baohe and his wife, Ms. Yang Fengmei, from Liangtang Township, Guan County, were arrested on July 4, 2008. They were held in the Zhangqiu City Forced Labor Camp for a one-and-a-half-year term. His wife was released in October 2008.

His 80-year-old father could not bear the stress and died on October 24, 2008.

Mr. Chen Jianyong from the Donghe District of Baotou City was arrested in August 2006 and sentenced to three years in prison. He has been held in the No.2 Prison's No.1 Division, No.2 Ward in the Inner Mongolian Autonomous Region. His family went to visit him several times but they were not allowed to see him. Mr. Chen refused to wear the criminal's uniform, which led to his torture on a metal chair for a week. He still has difficulty walking.

Ms. Zhao Yuzhen from Jinzhai Village, Gaotang County had more than 20,000 yuan extorted from her on December 25, 2008, of the Chinese lunar calendar.

Personnel from the Nanshimen Town Police Station in Xingtai County arrested Mr. Nie Yanfei from the Delong Steel Factory the night of December 30, 2008. The police ransacked his home the next morning and confiscated Falun Gong truth-clarifying materials. Mr. Nie was held in the Xingtai City No.1 Detention Center for 20 days and then sentenced to one year of forced labor. He is now in the Handan City Forced Labor Camp.

Personnel from the Xi'an City Domestic Security Division arrested five practitioners, including Mr. Wang Weidong, Mr. Wang Weiping, and Mr. Chen Wenqing, on May 28, 2008. It was heard that they are being held in the Sanyao Village Detention Center in Xi'an City. Mr. Chen's parents, living in another city, went to Xi'an City to see their son, but were not allowed to meet with him.

Mr. Ye Guohua, 40 years old, used to be a teacher in the Dongyou Middle School. He was sentenced to five years in prison and released in 2006. Policeman Lin Xiaoming often harassed his family and arrested Mr. Ye again on July 28, 2008, when he surfed online in an Internet café. His whereabouts are unknown.

Mr. Yang Jianjun from Xuchang City was sentenced to 10 years in prison on January 14, 2009; Mr. Feng Junhong, who was arrested on December 23, 2007, got six years in prison; and Ms. Shen Meilin, who was arrested on December 20, 2007, got three years.

Yuzhou City Domestic Security Division chief Xia Yuxiao land several policemen arrested 30-year-old Mr. Xie Huijian from Yanling County at 9:00 p.m. on December 21, 2008. He is now in the city detention center and is staging a hunger strike.

Mr. Xie had been arrested several times. Local police arrested him on his way home toward the end of 2005 and sentenced him to one and a half years of forced labor. He was held in the Xuchang City No.3 Forced Labor Camp. Following his release, Mr. Xie went to work in Shenhu Town, Yuzhou City, in 2008 but was unfortunately arrested again.

Ms. Xu Yuexian, 65 years old, and Ms. Zhu Jinju, 64 years old, were arrested at the Darunfa Supermarket as they distributed Falun Gong flyers on January 3, 2009.

Personnel from the Suining City Domestic Security Division ransacked several practitioners' homes in Daying County, Suining City, on May 23, 2008. The police confiscated two laptop computers, two laser inject printers, a CD burner, two paper-cutters, several boxes of white paper, three sets of Master's lecture CDs, a set of lecture tapes, 1,000 blank CDs, three pictures with Master's image, 6,000 yuan cash, and a 4,000-yuan bank deposit certificate.

The police also arrested Ms. Chen on May 23, 2008. They confiscated her handbag and ransacked her home. They also arrested 52-year-old Ms. Deng Youqiong and 60-year-old Ms. Guo Ting who happened to visit Ms. Chen. The police then arrested 66-year-old Ms. Deng Yongzhen, 77-year-old Mr. Hu Tingshun, and 52-year-old Ms. Li Qiongying. Ms. Deng Youqiong and Ms. Deng Yongzhen have been released, and Ms. Guo has been bailed out. The others are still in the detention center.

Personnel from the Xishui City Police Department and from the 610 Office arrested Mr. Cai Yingqiu from Xishui Zhudian Township and sentenced him to three years in prison.

Personnel from the Jidong City Domestic Security Division arrested Mr. Li Huiyao and Ms. Bai Shuqin from Bao'an Village, Yonghe Township, the morning of February 1, 2009.

Personnel from the Jinqiao Police Station arrested Mr. Yao Bo from Dashiqiao City and ransacked his home on August 7, 2008. They confiscated a computer, a printer, and truth-clarifying materials. He was sentenced to eight years in prison and is being held in the city detention center.

Mr. Li Aiguo from Yiyang City was arrested in August 2008 and has been held in the Yiyang City No.2 Detention Center. His family's visits were all denied. Police put him on trial recently but did not inform his family.

Several practitioners are being held in the Baimiao Forced Labor Camp's No. 3 Division in Zhengzhou City. They are Mr. Zou Yuchuan from Shenyang City, Liaoning Province; Mr. Zhang Haibo from Baoding City, Hebei Province; Mr. Li Bing from Xinyang City; Mr. Guo Chuanjun; Mr. Guo Junqiang; Mr. Chu Yangkui; and Mr. Huang Xinmin. The first three were transferred from Beijing, and the others are from Zhengzhou City.

Mr. Wang Shouren was tortured to death in the labor camp.

Officers in the No.3 Division tried to coerce practitioners to write a statement to give up Falun Gong practice. Mr. Wang Shouren refused to sign the statement. His detention term was extended by half a year. Guards forced him to do heavy work. Mr. Wang died on September 14, 2008.

Police arrested 43-year-old Mr. Hu Jian and 45-year-old Ms. Zhang Juxiang on August 9, 2008. They were put on trial on December 18, 2008. Mr. Hu was sentenced to three and a half years in prison; Ms. Zhang to three years.
