(Clearwisdom.net) When I listened to Master's lecture on February 8, 1999, I became more enlightened. Since I got married, I had been unhappy because I was not getting along with my husband and I kept complaining about my situation. After studying the Fa, my character improved and I became more open. I realized that I should be compassionate toward others and should be diligent in Fa-study.
After six month of studying the Fa I experienced major changes in my body. But then, on July 20, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started persecuting Falun Gong. Of course, I would not give up my practice. I knew then that the opportunity to practice Falun Gong and cultivate was unprecedented.
At the beginning of the persecution, I lost contact with all practitioners. I knew that the Fa was righteous and Master was teaching the truth. One day everyone would know the facts.
In January 2005, I found a fellow practitioner, and saw Master's recent articles and the book, Hong Yin II. I missed several years of Master's lectures, so I spent a lot of time reading and reciting Hong Yin II. In March, I learned that we should advise people to complete the "three withdrawals" and should let people know about the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party. Thus, I started this effort by advising my friends and colleagues.
At the end of 2005, my family moved to a new city and it took me six months before I found fellow practitioners there. Then, I had the opportunity to read Master's new articles and other truth-clarifying materials.
I felt very nervous the first time I left a fact-sheet under someone's door. Later, I went with fellow practitioners to validate the Fa. We shared our experiences in talking to strangers about Falun Gong.
There were times I felt it was difficult to distribute materials about Falun Gong. In Zhuan Falun, Master said,
"Actually, I think it depends on the person as to whether it is difficult or not. For an everyday person who does not want to practice cultivation, he will find cultivation practice simply too difficult, inconceivable, or impossible."
For practitioners if you want to do it , it is not difficult. When you hand out out flyers and talk to people about Falun Gong, you will meet all kinds. Hence, you have the opportunity to improve your character. There is joy in hard work. We are responsible for saving sentient beings. Cultivation is a serious matter. When you are honest and compassionate about saving people, they will be moved and the results will be good.
I was able to sit in the full lotus position only a year ago. When I first started I could not even cross my legs for ten minutes. It was a painful experience to do the half-lotus position. It was with Master's help and a lot of sweat and tears and many hours of pain and effort before I reached the full-lotus position.
My mother is eighty-three years old. She started practicing Falun Dafa two years ago. At that time she had two broken bones due to a fall and the hospital refused to take her. We listened to Master's lecture every day. Despite the pain she had, my mother insisted on doing the exercises. Gradually, she was able to sit in the half-lotus position. After a few months she could sit in the full-lotus position. She was illiterate, but now reads Zhuan Falun. She uses crutches to walk and by holding on to railings she can get up to the fourth floor. It is truly a miracle. My mother said, "Only by practicing Falun Gong can one have such a blessing. I am grateful to Master."
We cannot put into words Master's infinite grace. We must be diligent in our practice, truly practice cultivation, and do the three things so that we do not disappoint Master.
