(Clearwisdom.net) I thought I was able to use the Fa to guide myself in the course of cultivation. However, two recent incidents showed me there are still areas where I am not clear about things. Although I seemed to know things on the surface, I was not able to actually implement them.

Working in China as an intellectual, I have to obtain a certificate of Continued Education every year. This year my supervisor did not inform me when the registration period was to take place. When I heard about it, it was already time for the certificates to be issued. I was very upset: without a Continued Education Certificate, I might lose my job and everything. This made me have bad feelings about my supervisor.

When I noticed my anger over this, I immediately realized: I am a practitioner--how could I think that way? I should handle this with the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Even if he does not treat me fairly, I should treat him with Compassion and Forbearance. I thought, "If it is because I owed him something, this is an opportunity for me to repay him. Or this maybe this happened because I have attachments or it is something I do not deserve in the first place."

Then I realized that, when understanding things based on the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, if I owed him something in the past and now have to repay it, isn't it Truthfulness? To let go of attachments in this process, isn't it Truthfulness? Not to claim something I do not deserve, isn't that Truthfulness? I had certainly gained a new understanding on Truthfulness. Then I realized that, when letting go of different human notions, isn't that "returning to one's original true self?" Without this, how can we claim that we are following Dafa's principles and Master's words? By then, I felt that I had truly let go of my attachments.

After being clear on the Fa, I felt better. Next day, my friend asked about the registration on my behalf and told me that I would be able to maintain my Continued Education status. Once again I realized that, in a tribulation, we have to improve on the Fa. Once we meet the requirements, things will be resolved.

Recently, the road in front of my house was repaired. We heard that the construction company intentionally delayed the work, thus causing the community great inconvenience. Many people in the area were upset about it. When considering things based on the Fa, I remained calm. When the construction company had just finished paving the road with asphalt, pedestrians started to walk on the unfinished road and the construction staff could not stop them. I felt disturbed: "Won't all those people walking on the unfinished road damage it? Why can't they walk around it?" When I saw that even motor vehicles were driving on the unfinished road to save time, I was really upset, wanted to complain, and felt even hatred.

In Zhuan Falun, Master said, "Without knowing the Fa at high levels, one cannot practice cultivation. Without cultivating one's inner self and one's xinxing, one cannot increase gong." I realized that only the Fa principles from Master could guide my cultivation. Then I remembered the law of mutual-generation and mutual-inhibition. That is just how society works, so why should I get upset about it? My previous feeling was actually related to the influence of the Communist Party's Culture. That is, going to the extreme and considering something either totally good or totally bad.

Looking at it from the Fa, I realized that is just the way things are: a bird flies in the sky and a fish swims in the water. They are simply beings that live in these conditions. It is the same with human beings: they exist at that level, so that is how they behave. It is hard for them to do things differently. With these understandings, I felt clear on the Fa.

From these two incidents, I realized that it is not enough to just find attachments and try to inhibit them. It is more critical to understand principles at a higher level. That way, we will be assimilated to the Fa, and human notions as well as all sorts of attachments will disappear. Being clear about the Fa-principles is the most important issue.
