(Clearwisdom.net) Shen Yun Performing Arts graced the stage at the distinguished Cirkus Theatre on Wednesday, March 18. A highly appreciative audience packed the house, and responded to the performances with enthusiastic applause and standing ovations.

Joining in the resounding applause was Ms. Selin-Lindgren, member of the Swedish Parliament, who pronounced the show a grand success. After having watched the debut performance in Sweden last year, she made sure to return. "It is a fantastic performance, very accurate, but also emotional. Every movement is coordinated, and it shows that everyone can co-operate well!" she said.

Reflecting on the performance, she added, "I feel like I am acquainted with Chinese music, so I understand it better and recognize what they want to say with the music."

Ms. Selin-Lindgren shared that the spirituality and depth of the show appealed to her. "It is very universal; the battle between good and evil. It is showing that we are all from the same origin, and it is very interesting and very beautiful. It is nice that they have this classical dance ... if I had been younger I would have tried to learn this myself."

One of the dances in the show had to do with the Chinese scholar, Confucius, about which Ms. Selin-Lindgren said, "I have read some of the old literature by Confucius before, and I think it is very nice."

Ms. Selin-Lingren is an advocate of human rights. Because she chairs the parliamentary group of Women Against Violence, human rights and the banning of the free expression of culture by the communists in China naturally became a subject. After watching the dance, "Heaven Awaits us Despite Persecution," Ms. Selin-Lingren commented, "We support people who are persecuted."

"Wonderful! Something to Remember!"

Renowned music director and pianist, Mrs. Wensheim, joined a highly appreciative audience. She is the sixth generation in a family of church musicians, and is also currently working as a conductor and choir leader.

Mrs. Wensheim was greatly impressed, and said, "I have never seen a performance like this before. I had seen some pictures as well as a short video of what it is about. But you can't imagine, not really, until you sit there--and that was wonderful. I think this is fantastic, a feast for all senses. It really was, visually and everything. It was really something to remember."

"The spirit that permeates everything, like the lyrics in the songs--they tell about goodness and love, humanity, and compassion. That is touching. The tenor solo singer had an immense voice." "I liked very much the part with the Chinese instrument, the erhu. It was fantastic to listen to. And I feel happy, very happy, after seeing the show," said Mrs. Wensheim.

Renowned Swedish Conductor: "Skillful and Impressive!"

Mr. Jansson, former chief of the Swedish National Platform for Music, has more than thirty years of experience as a professional orchestral conductor, as well as long experience as the director of several music companies, including the Stockholm Concert Hall. He saw the show last year and came back again to see it this year. He was positively lyrical in his remarks about the music played by the Shen Yun Orchestra. "I was sitting behind the conductor, she was very skillful. As a conductor myself, I know. So we are very happy for this," said Mr. Jansson.

He added, "I am very impressed that they brought an orchestra. It would have been possible to have it on tape."

Mr. Jansson is a widely recognized authority on music. Not only has he extensively researched music, he has worked with musicians and conducted orchestras throughout Sweden. He is a board member of several prestigious music associations. Because of his life-long training in music, Mr. Jansson noted, "It's interesting to have this mixture of Western instruments and the classical Chinese. I think it is very nice. It works well, with the harmonies and major and minor," he said.

His concluding remark about Shen Yun's orchestra, "I experienced it very strongly!"
