(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Lu Yonghe, a resident of Hechi City in the Guangxi Region, was illegally arrested by local police officers in July 2008. His whereabouts are currently unknown.
While Mr. Lu was still attending college he was diagnosed with an incurable form of hepatitis. After practicing Falun Gong for a short while, all the symptoms of his disease completely disappeared. Later while he was employed at the Hechi City Finance College, there was consensus that he was a good teacher with high moral character.
After the persecution of Falun Gong began on July 20, 1999, Mr. Lu Yonghe went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong, sometime in December of 1999. While in Beijing, he and other fellow practitioners were arrested, detained, and beaten with electric batons. In addition, his employer later dismissed him from his job for not giving up his faith.
In 2001, many practitioners were arrested in Hechi City, including Mr. Lu and his mother. Mr. Lu was sentenced to two years of forced labor in the Nanning City Forced Labor Camp. Because he would not give up his faith in Dafa, he was singled out and severely tortured by camp guards. When Mr. Lu's two-year labor term had expired, the guards arbitrarily extended his term by six months, because he held firm to his spiritual beliefs.
After Mr. Lu was released, he was forced to leave home and become homeless in order to avoid further persecution and possible arrest. In 2008, he decided to go back to his hometown to help fellow practitioners prepare truth clarifying materials. In July 2008, he was arrested again along with several other local practitioners. His whereabouts and the state of his health remain unknown.
