(Clearwisdom.net) China's renowned human rights attorney Guo Guoting arrived at Queen Elizabeth Theatre from Vancouver Island on Wednesday to catch the last Shen Yun Performing Arts show in Vancouver.

It was his second time watching Shen Yun and he noted a few characteristics of the performance. "The programs manifested China's traditional and divinely-imparted culture through dance and artistic presentation. The design of the dance and the production of the backdrops emphasized the 'Shen' (deity or divineness) of Shen Yun. In Chinese history there have been many divinely-imparted cultural stories. Every part of the culture was passed down by a particular god who descended to the secular world. Shen Yun Performing Arts used artistic forms including dance, music, colors and costumes to display the essence of a culture with divine influence. The dance and music in the programs were matched nicely. The visual, sensual and aural effects made me feel very comfortable and very mesmerized."
Mr. Guo noted that the girls were very gentle and the men were very masculine and strong. The males had great physicality and the females were extremely elegant, particularly in the imperial courts.
Mr. Guo was one of the 15 out of 150,000 defense lawyers in China who dared to practice human rights law under the current authoritarian regime, risking his life for others' freedom. In 2005, he came to Canada after having his license confiscated for his defense of Falun Gong practitioners in China.
Lydia Liu, who graduated from a prestigious music institute in China, now a newcomer in Canada, also attended the show. She commented, "I am astounded, very touched, enlightened to many truths from the show, and my mind now feels unprecedentedly light and smooth."
Ms. Liu heard about the show last year and finally got to watch it this year. She said that only people who come to the show themselves can "experience such an astonishing sensation. Shen Yun displayed the authentic five-millennia-old Chinese traditional culture. It is very inspirational for modern people."
"Nothing in the show did not touch me. You cannot see such a show in mainland China. The show itself brought such openness and emotional expression. My mind and heart feel unprecedentedly nice, relaxed, and compassionate."
She said that the human rights abuse of Falun Gong practitioners in China, displayed by two of the Shen Yun programs, truly exists. Her colleague in China was arrested and persecuted for her belief in Falun Gong. Ms. Liu described her as a diligent and hardworking good person.
