(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 24 cities or counties in 10 provinces. In this report, 27 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 29 practitioners were illegally arrested.

In late March 2009, Falun Dafa practitioners Ms. Li Weizhen and Ms. Yang Yucui from Dongguxin Village in Tanggu City were arrested.

On February 21, 2009, Ms. Li Yuejuan from Dadongzhuang Village in Daxin Township of Fengnan District was arrested by police officers from the Daxin Township Police Station and detained at the Fengtai District Detention Center. On March 20, she was sentenced to forced labor. She is detained at the Tangshan City Kaiping District Forced Labor Camp suffering torture.

A court sentenced practitioners Ms. Li Yanling and Ms. Zhao Shumin from Yangzhuangzi Village, Fengtai District to three-year prison terms. They are detained at the Shijiazhuang City Women's Prison.

On March 17, 2009, Mr. Xue Qingliang and Ms. Li Yongying from the Mengyin Property Tax Bureau were arrested by personnel from the county 610 Office and officers from the local police station.

Practitioner Ms. Liang Yongkai from Qianshigou Village in Tieshan Township was sentenced to one year of forced labor at the Zibo Forced Labor Camp.

In March 2009, about a dozen practitioners, including Ms. Du Guizhen, were arrested and taken to a brainwashing center.

At 2:00 p.m. on March 31, 2009, three police officers from the Duozhuang Township Police Station went to the home of practitioners Mr. Shi Zengchun and Ms. Gong Quanhua in Xiahe Village to harass them. They arrested them and took them to the Duozhuang Township Police Station. Their families were extorted out of 5,000 and 2,000 yuan respectively.

Practitioners Mr. Liu Changqing and Ms. Li Fengling were extorted by Duozhuang Township Police Station out of 5,000 and 6,000 yuan respectively.

At noon on March 31, 2009, police officers arrested Mr. Meng Qingjun and Mr. Meng Xiangbiao, husband and wife. Their home was ransacked. Both are detained at the local police station.

On the afternoon of March 28, 2009, Ms. Guo Chunying from the Sanhe City Hospital was arrested by the Sanhe City Domestic Security Division at work. Her home was ransacked. She is detained at the Langfang Reeducation Center.

On March 30, police officers from the No. 4 Team of the Domestic Security Division at the Hengshui City Police Department clandestinely arrested Ms. Hu Guangshui and Ms. Xing Hengze.

On September 9, 2005, when Suzhou City Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Lu Tong was handing out truth-clarification materials at the Suzhou City Industrial Park, police officers from the Huxi Police Station in Suzhou City Industrial Park arrested him. He was sentenced to a one-year forced labor term to be served in Dafeng City in Jiangsu Province. On September 9, 2006, he was released. On July 4, 2008, Mr. Lu was arrested by police officers from the Caixiang Police Station. On December 17, 2008, he was sentenced to a four-year prison term to be served at the Wuxi Prison. On April 1, Mr. Lu's daughter Ms. Lu Yan visited her father at Wuxi Prison. Guards at the prison arrested her. She is detained at the Wuxi City Wuhe Police Station.

On March 12, 2009, police officers from the Duerping Police Station arrested Ms. Tian Yongfei from the Duerping Mine in Shiwanbolin District in Taiyuan City at her workplace. She is detained at the Taiyuan Detention Center.

On March 25, 2009, Wuhan City practitioner Mr. Peng Weidong was arrested by employees from the Wuhan City Domestic Security Division. He is detained at the Tangxunhu Detention Center.

On March 31, plainclothes police officers arrested practitioner Ms. Li Shihong's mother, Ms. Song. They stuffed a cloth into her mouth and took her to the Danshuichi Police Station. They also confiscated the key to her home. Then, they went to Ms. Li's home and ransacked it. They confiscated her laptop, a printer, Falun Dafa books and 1,500 yuan.

Ms. Li was arrested on her way home. She is detained at the No. 7 Division in Dongxihu District of Wuhan City, Hubei Province.

On the morning of March 28, 2009, practitioner Mr. Liang Shuanquan from Luzhou City was arrested when walking on Luzhoubei Street. He is being held at a detention center.

Around 11:00 a.m. on March 30, a group of police officers, with Liu Qiang from the Guzhai Police Station in charge, went to Luzhou City, Taiping Township to arrest practitioners Mr. Hu Biao, Ms. Wu Hong and Mr. Lai Qian.

On April 1, 2009, when practitioner Ms. Dong Shizhen from Chengdu City was clarifying the truth at Dashibeijiu Village in Jiangbei District of Chongqing City, she was reported. Subsequently, she was arrested by police officers. Her whereabouts are unknown.

On the afternoon of March 31, 2009, Ms. Feng Xiaomei from Shimo Township in Jiangjin City gave a truth-clarification DVD about Falun Gong to Long Zhongqian's wife. (Long works at the Shimo Township Police Station.) Long's wife gave it to him. That day, Ms. Feng was arrested and taken to Jiangjin Detention Center and her home was ransacked.

At a little past noon on April 1, 2009, when practitioner Mr. Fan Zhengqing from Chengdu City was handing out truth-clarification materials at the Great Wall Park at Jiulitinan Road in Chengdu City, he was arrested by police officers. His whereabouts are not known.

On January 9, 2008, when Mr. Li Zongbo, 38 years old, and Ms. Duan Zairu, 40 years old, from Shakou Township in Yingde City were distributing truth-clarification materials at the Pingfeng Primary School in Shakou Township, they were reported. Police from the Shakou Township Police Station arrested them and took them to the local police station. The same afternoon, their home was ransacked and police officers confiscated a photocopier and a few copies of "Minghui Weekly." They are detained at the Yingde City Detention Center.

On the afternoon of January 8, 2009, when Ms. Liang Hong from Guangzhou City was handing out truth-clarification materials at Guangzhou Library in Yuexiu District, personnel from the Domestic Security Division arrested her and took her to the Yuexiu District Police Sub-Bureau, where she was detained for 15 days.

On January 21, Ms. Liang was sentenced by the Guangzhou City Forced Labor Camp Management Committee to serve one year at the camp. Ms. Liang is detained at the Guangzhou City Cuotou Women's Forced Labor Camp.

In late March 2009, practitioner Ms. Zeng Siling from Yongzhou City was clandestinely sentenced to a three-year prison term by Yongzhou City Lingling District Court.

Ms. Gao Shan, who had been previously detained at the Changchun City Weizigou Detention Center, was transferred to serve an 18-month sentence at a forced labor camp.

On February 19, 2009, practitioners Ms. Fu Hui, Mr. Gu Yunpeng, Mr. Li Guojun, Ms. Sun Lina and her husband, as well as six practitioners from Zhaodong City, were arrested by the Haerbin City Domestic Security Division. Ms. Fu was sentenced to serve two years at Haerbin City Qianjin Forced Labor Camp.

Mr. Ma Chuncheng was arrested in Daqing City.

At 10 a.m. on March 31, 2009, Ms. Wang Xiuying, a retired employee from the Zhucheng City Tobacco Company, was arrested at home by three plainclothes police officers and taken to the Zhucheng City Brainwashing Center. At the same time, Ms. Guo Rufeng, an elderly practitioner, was also arrested.

Ms. Wang Lihua from Shahe City was arrested by Wang Jianjun, leader of the Domestic Security Division, and others. They confiscated personal belongings including close to 20,000 yuan.

Mr. Liu Xiaobin, a disabled person who was paralyzed, was able to walk after practicing Falun Gong. At 4:00 p.m. on February 17, 2009, Mr. Liu was arrested by police officers from the Domestic Security Division of the Xiangyang Police Sub-Bureau in Jiamusi City. He was detained at the Jiamusi Detention Center. At the center, Mr. Liu was tortured and detained in the cell for ill detainees. On April 2, Mr. Liu, who was still ill, was sentenced by the Jiamusi Police Bureau to forced labor. He is detained at the Suihua Forced Labor Camp.

On the evening of March 31, 2009, when Ms. Zhang Zhiqin from Shenyang City was clarifying the facts outside of the Liming Hotel in Chang'an District, he was arrested by police officers from the Dadong Police Station. His whereabouts are unknown.

On April 2, Ms. Li Yuzhen was arrested by police officers. She is detained at the Daowaiyuan Police Sub-Bureau.

On the morning of March 29, 2009, of the four practitioners who were arrested by police officers from the Meixi Police Station in Yueyang City, Ms. Luo and Ms. Yan were released. On March 31, Ms. Xue Li was detained at the Yuyang City No.1 Detention Center, and Ms. Luo Xinhua at the Hubin Detention Center.

Ms. Tang Tongmin and Ms. Yi Benfen were arrested by police officers at their homes at 9:00 p.m. on March 30, 2009. The homes were ransacked.

On the morning of March 31, 2009, Mr. Huang Wangping from Songzi City was arrested when going to the supermarket by police officers from the Shulu Detention Center in Xinjiangkou Township of Songzi City. He is detained at the Songzi City No.1 Detention Center.
