(Clearwisdom.net) Before the New Year, a friendly police officer told me that a policeman from the City Public Security Bureau had informed him that after the New Year, they were going to assign someone to tail me. He told me to be more careful. My first reaction was that I should send forth righteous thoughts. At first, my thoughts focused on the person assigned to tail me deserving retribution.. After a while, I realized that such thinking lacked compassion. Furthermore, this indicated that our efforts to clarify the facts to the local Public Security Bureau had been inadequate. In talking to fellow practitioners, we decided that we should send letters to these police officers, and we also asked overseas practitioners to call them to make sure the officers understood what Falun Gong was about. We also changed our focus in sending righteous thoughts towards having these officers take on a supportive role for Falun Gong.

After a few days, six police officers from the City Public Security Bureau came to my house. All smiling, they said, "We have come to help you re-enroll as a resident in this city. This will make your life easier." The story behind this is that I was illegally arrested and imprisoned many years ago. Although I returned home five years ago, I was not accepted as a local resident by the government. The officers' visit was a good opportunity for me to tell them about Falun Gong. I told them the universal truth, that good and evil will be dealt with accordingly, and cited many examples that involved the 610 Office. I helped them understand that by treating the Dafa practitioners well, they would establish good futures for themselves. They were happy to hear what I told them and then asked, "Was the self-immolation real or not?"

I answered, "The fact that the little girl could sing after her her windpipe was supposedly cut, and the use of gauze to treat burns indicate that the incident was fabricated." They replied, "We don't understand this, but you are a medical doctor. We believe you." They were grateful for the information and offered to help me should the occasion ever arise. They were sincere in what they said. I think their real selves in other dimensions were indeed grateful for what I told them.

This year nothing happened to me before the "two conferences"--the CCP's National People's Congress and the Political Consultation Conference, considered "sensitive times" when practitioners are often arrested. In the past the police always came to my house, because before July 1999, I was a well known Falun Gong practitioner. In fact, before the New Year, police officers from the District Public Security Bureau came to me and said angrily, "You are promoting Falun Gong every day and encouraging people to make the 'three withdrawals' (withdrawing from the CCP and its two youth organizations). Do you want to return to prison?" I told the police officers from the City Public Security Bureau about this and told them frankly that had I not held on to a high level of understanding, they would have scared me. The city officers apologized to me and said, "Within the police force, there are some low quality individuals."

During the re-enrollment period, they let me know when officers from the census bureau came. They took the evidence to the police station for me. When it was all done, they asked me to come to pick up my registration card, because it did not look good to have police cars come to my house. Their effort to treat practitioners nicely will be well rewarded and I am happy for them.
