(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 22 cities or counties in 10 provinces. In this report, 23 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 15 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Hunan Province] Ms. Shen Yuehong Developed Tuberculosis Due to Persecution
Ms. Shen Yuehong is imprisoned and being persecuted in Xinxiang City. She has developed tuberculosis in prison.
Mr. Yang Jianjun is facing a second trial at Lin County, Hunan Province. At the first trial, he was sentenced to a ten-year prison term.
2. [Lishu County, Jilin Province] Mr. Zhang Kaiping Imprisoned
Mr. Zhang Kaiping was sentenced to a five-year prison term by the Gongzhuling court and is now in Jilin Prison.
After 2008, Mr. Zhang Kaiping was taken back to the Lishu County Detention Center and tortured by the first brigade guard, Wang Dejun, and others. The Lishu County Court sentenced him to an additional two years in prison. All supporting evidence exonerating Mr. Zhang was submitted to the Siping Intermediate Court to be presented during the second trial. His family hired two attorneys from Beijing, but the Siping Court refused to hold the trial.

3. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Liu Zhanjun Still Detained, and Ms. Wang Jingyao Monitored
Mr. Liu Zhanjun and Ms. Wang Jingyao were employed at the Harbin City Electrical Machinery Plant. On February 19, 2009, they were arrested by the Harbin Security Bureau police. Mr. Liu Zhanjun was taken to Xiangfang District Political Security and detained at Cheng Gaozi Detention Center. Ms. Wang Jingyao was released but is still being monitored by police. The most recent inside information revealed that the Procuratorate is planning to arrest Mr. Liu and sentence him to a three- to five-year prison term.

4. [Jiaohe City, Jilin Province] Ms. Duan From Zhonggang Arrested
Ms. Duan from Zhonggang Street in Jiaohe Coal Mine was arrested on April 6, 2009.
5. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Jinglian and Ms. Song Shixiu Arrested
On the morning of April 8, 2009, Ms. Wang Jinglian and Ms. Song Shixiu went to Nangou's Market in Guchengzi Town to clarify the truth about the persecution of Falun Gong. They were arrested by plainclothes officers from the Nanhuayuan Police Station. They were taken to the Guchengzi police station. Police ransacked their homes and confiscated personal belongings. From Ms. Wang's home they confiscated a computer and a printer belonging to her granddaughter, a telephone, a phonebook, Falun Dafa books, and truth-clarification materials. In Ms. Song's home, the police confiscated a DVD player, a camera, a telephone, an MP4 player, and Teacher's lecture books, tapes, truth-clarification materials, and much more. Around 10 p.m. that night, Ms. Wang and Ms. Song were taken to the Nangou Detention Center. Ms. Song was detained but the center refused to accept Ms. Wang because of a serious health condition.

6. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zheng Yu Robbed by Police
In the middle of the night on April 8, 2009, a group of unidentified police officers broke into Ms. Zheng Yu's home located at the Xige Petroleum Factory in the Shuncheng District. They arrested her and confiscated many items from her home.
7. [Baicheng City, Jilin Province] Mr. Wang Shaoqing Imprisoned
Mr. Wang Shaoqing was a doctor at the Sifangduozi Detention Center of Baicheng City. He was arrested, imprisoned, and is being tortured at the Sifangduozi Detention Center.
8. [Dehui City, Jilin Province] The Persecution of Ms. Wang Shuxiang
On the afternoon of April 7, 2009, personnel from Dehui Municipal Public Security went to Ms. Wang Shuxiang's home to harass her, but only her husband was at home. The police asked her husband for their household registration document. He got scared and tried to escape. The officers caught him and took him back into the house. Without an official search warrant, officers ransacked the home and then went to Ms. Wang's place of business and arrested her. She and her husband were taken to the police station around 3 p.m. that afternoon. Her husband was released on April 8, 2009, but Ms. Wang is still detained. Her whereabouts are unknown.

9. [Shanghai City] Ms. Gu Qunzhu Arrested
Ms. Gu Qunzhu lives in the Pudong District in Shanghai and is 59 years old. On the night of March 22, 2009, she was arrested for the third time. Police searched two of her homes and confiscated her belongings. She is being held in the Pudong District Center.

11. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Han Lianping Arrested
Ms. Han Lianping was arrested by officers from the Yingzhou Police Station in Chujia Town in the Laishan District of Yantai City on February 26, 2009. The same night, the police ransacked her home and confiscated her personal belongings. Ms. Han is now in the Yantai Detention Center.
12. [Qixia City, Shandong Province] Mr. Liu Xiangrong Harassed
Mr. Liu Xiangrong from Qixia, Shandong was arrested by officers from the Cuiping police station. The police ransacked his home and continue to harass his family.
13. [Mengyin County, Shandong Province] Supplemental Information on the Persecution of Ms. Kan Jixiang
Ms. Kan Jixiang lives in Jinqianguanzhuang Village, Tanbu Town, Mengyin County. On the morning of March 17, 2009, police searched her home and confiscated one computer, two printers, one copier, four sets of Dafa compact discs, two boxes of magnetic tapes, three MP3 players, a video disc player, a box of printer paper, two cellphones, some spare compact discs, and Falun Dafa books. They also confiscated other things of value estimated to be worth more than 10,000 yuan. They even stole an electronic piano that belonged to her children.
14. [Mengyin County, Shandong Province] Ms. Bao Xiju Arrested Again
Ms. Bao Xiju lives in Qipanshi Village, Yedian Town, Mengyin County. She was released, after two weeks of imprisonment, on April 1, 2009. On April 3, 2009, she was arrested again by four police officers from the Mengyin Detention Center.

16. [Tangshan, Hebei Province] Ms. Wang Xin Sentenced to Forced Labor Camp for Two Years
Ms. Wang Xin, 38 years old, is imprisoned in the First Forced Labor Camp of Hebei Province. She was sentenced to a two-year term.

18. [Handan City, Hebei Province] Additional Information about Mr. Bai Lianhe and Mr. Li Qiuming
On April 7, 2009, more than ten members of the Handan Political Brigade, Wu'an Political Security, and Huoshui Police Station ransacked the homes of Mr. Bai Lianhe and Mr. Li Qiuming in Datun Village, Huoshui Township.
19. [Pingquan County, Hebei Province] Mr. Liu Wenzi Sentenced to Five Year in Prison
Mr. Liu Wenzi lives in Shijiazhuang, Pingquan County, Hebei Province. He was arrested by police from Weimin Street Police station in Qiaoxi District, Shijiazhuang City on June 13, 2008. The police confiscated his personal belongings. He was detained at Shijiazhuang First Detention Center for more than eight months and the police disallowed family visitation. Later, Mr. Liu was secretly sentenced to a five-year prison term. He is imprisoned at Jidong Prison in Tangshan City, Hebei Province.
20. [Jiujiang County, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Wang Yinan and Ms. Luo Shihua Arrested
Ms. Wang Yinan, 70 years old, and Ms. Luo Shihua, 60 years old, were arrested by officers from the Saichengfu, Chengxigang Police Station about 9:00 p.m. on April 6, 2009, when the two were distributing truth-clarification materials. The same night, their homes were ransacked and Teacher's lecture disc and books from Ms. Luo Shihua's home were confiscated. They were interrogated until midnight of the second day before they were released.
On the second day, police went to the women's homes and tried to extort 5,000 yuan from each of their sons. They threatened that if the sons didn't pay up, their mothers would be arrested again. Ms. Luo Shihua's son made a counteroffer and paid the police 1,000 yuan. It is not known if Ms. Wang's son paid the extortion.
21. [Jinxian County, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Wan Arrested
Ms. Wan lives in Sanli Township, Jinxian County. She is around 40 years old. She was arrested and is detained at the Jinxian County Detention Center.
22. [Zhumadian City, Hunan Province] Mr. Li Jianshe Arrested
Mr. Li Jianshe was arrested at his home on April 8, 2009.
23. [Baoji City, Shanxi] Ms. Li Baolian Sentenced to Forced Labor Camp
On March 8, 2009, Ms. Li Baolian was arrested by officers from the Jinling Police Station when she was distributing truth-clarification material in Jinlingshen Village. They first took her to the Weibin District Police Station and then to the Jintai Police Station.
On March 30, 2009, personnel from Weibin District Station delivered the verdict document to Ms. Li Baolian's family. The verdict stated that Ms. Li Baolian had been sentenced to two years of forced labor. However, the document didn't have Ms. Li's signature on it.
24. [Hebei Province] Mr. Tong Weimin Facing Dismissal from Hebei Agricultural College
Mr. Tong Weimin is a student at Hebei Agricultural College. He was reported by a student to the school authorities for clarifying the truth at college. The school authorities wanted him to write the so called guarantee statement not to practice anymore, or face dismissal. Currently, he is under the supervision of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) secretary of the college.

25. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Li Guohua's Seven-Year Prison Term Soon to End
Mr. Li Guohua was sentenced to a seven-year prison term and is being detained in the Shayang Fanjiatai Detention Center in Hubei Province. His term is up on April 24, 2009.
26. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. He Jiaqing Taken to a Brainwashing Center
Ms. He Jiaqing, 70, lives at Kefenyuan, Chengdu City. On March 31, 2009, she was arrested by Nanzhan Police Station police officers. She is being detained in the Jinhua Brainwashing Center.
27. [Xiangyin County, Hunan Province] Ms. Liao Hong and Ms. Liu Yulan Arrested
Ms. Liao Hong, over 40, and Ms. Liu Yulan, over 60, live in Nanhu Town, Xiangyin County. On the night of April 7, 2009, they were arrested by local police for posting truth-clarification messages near the highway. They are being held at the Xiangyin Detention Center.

On March 30, 2009, Meizhou City, Chiuling County Court held a secret hearing to sentence Ms. Qiu Cunmei, Ms. Zeng Xiaoli, and Ms. Lin Meiling. The hearing results are unknown.
29. [Chongqing City] Supplemental Information about the Persecution of Mr. Fei Mingyan
Mr. Fei Mingyan lives in Chongqing City. He is about 30 years old. In May 2001, he was sentenced to three years of forced labor and taken to Xishanping Forced Labor Camp, where he was brutally tortured. In 2008, Mr. Fei was arrested again. This time the police took him to the Dongshan Number 11 Supervision Division at Yongchuan Jail. According to resent information, the police transferred Fei Mingyan to Dongshan Number 14 Supervision Division and are torturing him more severely. Mr. Fei's face is now covered with bruises, and there are other injuries on his body.
30. [Qian'an County, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhao Jinfeng Arrested
On April 2, 2009, Zhao Qingchang, the head of Mozi Village of Zhanzi Township, and two officers from Zhanzi Police Station went to Ms. Zhao Jinfeng's home, ransacked it, and confiscated a set of Shen Yun Performing Arts discs.
On the afternoon of April 7, 2009, Mozi Village First Brigade Secretary Liu Jun ordered the two officers to arrest Ms. Zhao. She is being held at the Qian'an County Detention Center.
