(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 31 cities or counties in 17 provinces. In this report, 57 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 33 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Hebei Province] Officers from State Security Division of Pingshan County Police Department Raid Ms. Yang's Home
At 10 a.m. on March 25, 2009, Feng Qingfang and three officers from the State Security Division of the Pingshan County Police Department broke into practitioner Ms. Yang Mingrui's home and raided it. At that time, Ms. Yang and her husband were not at home. Their daughter, Ms. Wang Xiaxia, who is not a practitioner and suffers from depression, was at home. They stole Ms. Wang Xiaxia's computer and printer, then went to Ms. Yang Mingrui's room and confiscated her Dafa books and photos of the founder of Falun Dafa. They also plotted to arrest Ms. Wang Xiaxia, who refused to cooperate with them, so they beat her.
2.[Suining City, Sichuan Province] Police Arrest Blacklisted Practitioners and Search Their Homes
Recently, officers from the Chengqu Police Station in the Chuanshan District, Suining City, harassed blacklisted practitioners. From March 24 to March 26, 2009, members of the Jinqiao Township government and officers from the Jinqiao Township Police Station searched the blacklisted practitioners' homes. It is known that Mr. Luo Youfu from Jinqiao Township, who is in his sixties, has been arrested. On March 26, 2009, the police went to Ms. Liu Xianbi's home in the Third Group of Jinqiao Township to harass her, but she was not at home then.

Mr. Li Qinjun and Mr. Qin Laorui were sentenced to three-and-half years of imprisonment, Ms. Ren Yanjun was sentenced to three years, and Ms. Nie Junhua was sentenced to two years. Ms. Zhu Xiaolu was sentenced to one-and-a-half years of forced labor.
4. [Huazhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Chen Meiling Arrested Again
Ms. Chen Meiling is in her sixties. In July 2002, she was arrested while distributing truth-clarifying materials and sentenced to five years of imprisonment. On March 19, 2009, she was tracked by officers from the Police Crime Team in Huazhou City while she was promoting Falun Gong and distributing CDs. She was arrested, and her home was searched. The police seized a bundle of cash with facts about Falun Gong written on the bills. She is being held in the Huazhou City First Detention Center.
5. [Xinjiang Province] Ms. Zhou Yuelan Brutally Mistreated in Xinjiang Province Women's Forced Labor Camp
Ms. Zhou Yuelan was detained in Xinjiang Province Women's Forced Labor Camp Since October 2008. she has only been allowed to sleep on the ground in the hall. She goes to bed as late as 2 a.m. and gets up at 7 a.m.. She is not allowed to go to the cafeteria to eat. She is monitored at all times.
6. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Follow-up Report on the Persecution of Ms. Chen Man
On February 11, 2008, while Ms. Chen Man, Ms. Hu Huifang, and some children were watching a video of the Falun Gong exercises, many plainclothes officers suddenly rushed into the room. They demanded, "Who is Chen Man?" and took the VCD. Some of the officers were video recording. After separating the children from the adults, they searched the children's school bags and seized Dafa books. They also threatened to conduct body searches on the children. After they coerced the children into disclosing their parents' names, they notified the local community office to tell the parents to pick up the children. The plainclothes officers were from the First Division of the Wuhan City Police Department. They were deployed by the Wuhan City 610 Office.

Mr. Pan Xujun, 43, was a teacher in Pai County. He has been detained in Hongzehu Prison for more than seven years, where he has been severely mistreated. He has been holding a hunger strike for more than 40 days to protest the persecution. He is extremely weak and on the verge of death. His family went to the prison to request his release, but they were turned away.

On March 17, 2009, Mr. Shan Shizhao was arrested, and the police seized a printer from his home. They also seized two cell phones and am MP4 players from Mr. Feng Guoqing's home. Mr. Zhang Ping, 66, went to a school to visit his granddaughter on March 27, 2009. A teacher reported him to the police. Qin Yujing of the 610 Office arrested him. Later, the police threatened his family into opening the door and searched his home. They seized many private possessions. Rizhao City Detention Center refused to accept him. His whereabouts are unknown.
13. [Zhucheng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhuang Rufeng Arrested
Ms. Zhuang Rufeng lives in the Dashutang Community on Mizhou Street, Zhucheng City. She used to be a staff member of the Foreign Trade Company. Around 9 a.m. on March 31, 2009, she was arrested and taken to a brainwashing center in Zhucheng City. On March 30 and 31, 2009, several practitioners in Zhucheng City were arrested.
14. [Tianjin City] Mr. Zhou Xiangyang Mistreated in Gangbei Prison
At night on March 31, 2009, Mr. Zhou Xiangyang's brother-in-law received an unexpected phone call from the Gangbei Prison director. He was told to go to Xinsheng Hospital at 1 p.m. on April 10, 2009, to see Mr. Zhou. It is quite possible that when Mr. Zhou's family went to visit him on March 17, 2009, which is the regular visitation day, he had already been taken to the hospital due to his poor health.

19. [Tianjin City] Ms. Wang Shulan Arrested
Ms. Wang Shulan lives in the Hexi District, Tianjin City. On the afternoon of March 23, 2009, she was arrested and her home was searched. Later, the police monitored her home and arrested two practitioners who came to visit her.

On March 27, 2009, Nongan County Court sentenced seven practitioners. On March 21, 2009, Mr. Ma Qiang, from Xiazhuang Village, Laishui County was arrested in his cell phone store by police officers from the State Security Division of Laishui County. They also seized a computer.

Mr. Ma Qingping lives in Puyang County, Puyang City, Henan Province. On March 23, 2009, police officers from the Puyang County State Security Division rushed into the school where he was working, arrested him, and seized a laptop computer and some truth-clarifying materials. Up to now he has been detained in the Puyang City Detention Center. His wife, Ms. Du Liqin. went to request his release on March 24, 2009, and was held up for questioning. Later, the supervisor at her workplace vouched for her and brought her back. On March 25, 2009, she was taken to the State Security Division office again for questioning. She is still in the Puyang County Detention Center. Their daughter, who is in elementary school, was left unattended. She now lives with her aunt.

28. [Hengshui City, Hebei Province] Five Practitioners Recently Arrested One After the Other
Ms. Zhang Liqun lives in the residential compound of the Lubei Battery Plant. On the afternoon of March 26, 2009, she was arrested at home by police officers from the Hengshui City State Security Division. Mr. Xing Hengze lives in Xiangjaio Community, Hengshui City. On March 30, 2009, he was arrested at home by officers from the Hengshui City Police Department. At 8 p.m. on March 31, 2009, Mr. Hu was arrested by officers from the Hengshui City Police Department.
Several weeks ago, Ms. Wang Fengqin and Ms. Liu Yingjie, who live in the Taocheng District, Hengshui City, were arrested. Within one month, five practitioners were arrested.
29. [Yongqing County, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhang Chunrong Arrested
On March 19, 2009, more than ten officers from the Longhuzhuang Police Station arrested Ms. Zhang Chunrong and took her to the Yongqing County State Security Division. In the afternoon, she was taken to a detention center. Presently, she is detained in a brainwashing center in Langfang City.

30. [Hubei Province] State Security Division of Jingmen City Arrests Two Practitioners
Ms. Xu Taichun, in her seventies, is a retired employee of the China Construction Third Bureau. On March 20, 2009, she was arrested by agents of the Jingmen City 610 Office. After she was detained in the Railway Hotel for one week, police officers of the State Security Division arrested two other practitioners, Ms. Zheng and Ms. Qin, and also detained them in the hotel. Meantime, the homes of Ms. Zheng and Ms Qin were searched. Their Dafa books and tapes and Ms. Qin's daughter's MP3 player were seized. They were released after being fined 1,000 yuan each.
31. [Panzhihua City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Wen Yuechao, Mr. Guan Xuezhi, and Mr. Han Yingcheng Sentenced
On the morning of February 5, 2009, Renhe District Court opened a court session to try Mr. Wen Yuechao, Mr. Guan Xuezhi, and Mr. Han Yingcheng. On February 25, 2009, Mr. Wen was sentenced to four years of imprisonment, Mr. Guan was sentenced to three years, and Mr. Han was sentenced to three years. They have been taken to Longquanyi Prison.
32. [Shulan City, Jilin Province] Mr. Yang Guoshu and Eight of His Relatives Arrested

Around 5 p.m. on March 19, 2009, Mr. Wu Mingshan from Panzhihua City was reported to police while he was distributing truth-clarifying materials in a village in Youxi Township, Xinhua County, Hunan Province. He was arrested and taken to the Youxi Township Police Department. On the morning of March 20, 2009, he was transferred to the Xinhua County Detention Center. At the end of March 2009, he was taken back to the Wanyaoshu Detention Center.
36. [Xuzhou City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Xin Guiyin Detained
Ms. Xin Guiyin, 64, a retired doctor, lives in the Jianguo Community in Xizhou City. Around 9 p.m. on March 1, 2009, she was arrested while she was posting stickers with the truth about Falun Gong by agents that were monitoring her. She was interrogated many times. Nobody was allowed to visit her. She is now in a detention center.
37. [Benxi City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Qi Zhenhong Released after Being Persecuted to Mental Instability in Masanjia Forced Labor Camp
Ms. Qi Zhenhong is from Hengren County, Benxi City. She was severely mistreated in Masanjia Forced Labor Camp and became mentally disordered. The guards deceived her family into taking her home. Tortured by the guards, she is still severely injured.

39. [Guangxi Province] Mr. Wang Minli Dies as a Result of Persecution
Mr. Wang Minli was around 65 years old. In 2001, he wrote to the Liuzhou City Political and Judiciary Committee to clarify the truth about Dafa. As a result, he was sentenced to two-and-a-half years of forced labor. His wife was sentenced to three years of forced labor. In 2004 after he was released, he was still followed, monitored, and frequently harassed. He developed heart disease and passed away on March 25, 2009.

Mr. Deng is a teacher at Yizhou City Normal College. In November 2008, he and seven practitioners were arrested at home by agents from the local 610 Office. Their homes were searched, and three computers and other items were seized. The other practitioners have been released, but Mr. Deng is still in the local detention center and facing trial.

43. [Henan Province] Recent Situation of Persecuted Practitioners in Dancheng County
On February 26, 2009. five practitioners, Ms. Zhang Beihua, Ms, Guo Guiying, Ms. Liu Wenying, Ms. Zhou Guiying, and Ms. Cheng Xiaohua, were arrested by officers from the Dancheng County Police Department. Among them, Ms. Zhou Guiying and Ms. Cheng Xiaohua were released from the Dancheng County Detention Center. 44. [Yongan City, Fujian Province] Ms. Zuo Xiuyun Subjected to Further Persecution in Fujian Province Women's Prison
At the beginning of June 2004, agents of the Yongan City 610 Office arrested Ms. Zuo Xiuyun, who was released from the Fujian Women's Prison eight months ago. In August or September 2004, she was covertly sentenced to six years of imprisonment and detained in the Fujian Women's Prison. During her detention, she was imprisoned in a brainwashing center many times.
In 2007, she was taken to Qingliu Prison in Fuzhou City for "transformation." After all means of "transformation" failed, she was placed under "first-class strict control". As a result, she was prohibited from communicating with her family and relatives and monitored by three inmates at all times. At the beginning of March 2009, her daughter specifically went to Fuzhou City to visit her, but she was not permitted to see her.

Mr. Wang Jingquan, 56, works in the drivers' team of the Well Drilling Tool Company under the Shengli Oil Field. On March 30, 2009, he went to work in Gaoqing County, Shandong Province. After work, he went to some villages to distribute truth-clarifying materials. He was reported to the police and arrested.
47. [Yanshan County, Hebei Province] Details on the Persecution of Ms. Zhang Guirong and Mr. Zhao Maoxiang
Ms. Zhang Guirong lives in Zhifang Village, Hanji Town, Yanshan County. On the morning of March 26, 2009, she went to Wangjin Village, Mengdian Township, to promote Falun Gong and expose the persecution. She was reported to the police. Yan Hongying, director of the Mengdian Township Police Station, led five police officers to arrest her. She was taken to the State Security Division of Yanshan County Police Department. Later, she was transferred to the Yanshan County Detention Center. Afterwards, Li Rongsheng, director of the Hanji Town Police Station, and two police officers searched her home. They seized all her Dafa books.
After that, three officers from Hanji Town Police Station went to Mr. Zhao Maoxiang's home in Zhangyao Village. They seized all his Dafa books and truth-clarifying materials and took him to the Hanji Town Police Station. They plotted to extort 5, 000 yuan cash from him without success. He was released after he was forced to sign a bill to acknowledging the 5,000 yuan debt.
