(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 16 cities or counties in 7 provinces. In this report, 20 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 18 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Xichang City, Sichuan Province] Recent Information about the Persecution of Ms. Zhang Yi and Other Practitioners
Ms. Zhang Yi is an engineer with the Liangshanzhou Road Bureau. Ms. Zuo Yonghong is a retired employee of the Huidong County Lead and Zinc Mine. Ms. Zhang Yi, Ms. Li Yingqiong, and Ms. Zuo Yonghong have been detained for 8 months. However, the court plans to aggravate the persecution of the three practitioners.
Ms. Ma Lingxian, a retired teacher, was arrested and has been detained for 8 months. On March 16, 2009, the Huili County Court tried her illegally.
On March 29, 2008, Ms. He Zhaofen from Dechang County, Lianshanzhou was arrested. She has been sentenced to three and a half years of imprisonment. On April 14, 2008, Mr. Zhou Lianke was arrested. He has been sentenced to one year of imprisonment.
2. [Funing County, Hebei Province] Ms. Wang Yonghua Arrested
On the morning of March 19, 2009, police from the Funing County Police Department went to the home of Mr. Guo Daoyou and took his wife Ms. Wang Yonghua to the detention center.

3. [Mengyin County, Shandong Province] Elderly Ms. Xie Shunfang Arrested
On the morning of March 17, 2009, officers from the Yedian Police Station broke into the home of Mr. Yi Tingxu in Nanyu Village and arrested Ms. Xie Shunfang. Mr. Yi escaped because he was not at home at that time.
Two years ago, Mr. Huang Zhili, Mr. Yi Tingxu's oldest son-in-law, was sentenced to three years' imprisonment by the Jiawang 610 Office of Xuzhou City because he insisted on his belief in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.
4. [Wanrong County, Shanxi Province] Ms. Li Yujie Arrested
Ms. Li Yujie, 28 years old, graduated from the Graduate School of Tianjin Normal University in 2008. In February 2007, she was arrested by the Tianjin police because she explained the facts about Falun Gong to her classmates.
On Match 7, 2008, she explained the facts about Falun Gong to people while she worked in Beijing. The police from the Chaoyang District in Beijing arrested her. She is still being detained.
5. [Shandong Province] The Wangcun Forced Labor Camp Persecuted Ms. Pang Weina
In the Second Division of the Wangcun Forced Labor Camp, Ms. Pang Weina was brutally tortured. She was hung up for one day and one night without her feet being able to touch the ground.

8. [Lunan County, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhuang Qianting Arrested
Ms. Zhuang Qianting, about 50 years old, lives in Xibeizhuang Village, Dingshui Town, Lunan County. At 9 p.m. on March 12, 2009, four plainclothes officers from the Dingshui Police Station searched her home and took her away. Now she is being detained in the Lunan County Detention Center.
9. [Songyuan City, Jilin Province] Mr. Wang Xibao and His Wife Persecuted
Mr. Wang Xibao, 50 years old, lives in Eru Township, Qianguo County, Songyuan City. In 2002, he was arrested by Piao Yufeng, Head of the Eru Township Police Station, because he practiced Falun Gong. After he was detained in the Qianguo County Police Department for 15 days, he was taken to Yinmahe Forced Labor Camp in Jiutai City for a three-year term.
At 8 a.m. on April 16, 2008, the head of Eru Township Police Station and two other officers went to search the home of Mr. Wang Xibao. They took away an MP4 player and two pictures of Master Li. Mr. Wang Xibao and his wife Zhang Pingxiang were taken to the police station. Later on they were detained in the Qianguo Detention Center for 15 days. The police also took away 1700 yuan that Ms. Zhang Pingxiang carried.
On April 29, 2008, Mr. Wang Xibao was taken to Yinmahe Forced Labor Camp for one year. In the camp, he was forced to write the so-called "five statements" (similar to the three statements) and do hard labor for 17 hours per day. Ms. Zhang Pingxiang was finally released, however, before the Beijing Olympic Games she was arrested by the Eru Township Police Station and detained in the Qianguo Detention Center for seven days.

11. [Pingyin County, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Xiuping and Two Other Practitioners Persecuted
On December 26, 2008, Ms. Liu Xiuping, about 60 years old, Ms. Chen Aiyuan, about 50, and Ms. Guo Changxiang, almost 50, were arrested by officers from the Meigui Police Station in Pingyin County when the three went to Meigui Township to explain the facts about Falun Gong. Now they have been taken to a forced labor camp for 18 months.
12. [Hejing County, Xinjiang Province] Ms. Ye Zhanglan Persecuted
Ms. Ye Zhanglan, 50 years old, is retired from the Huguang Candy Factory in Hejing County, Xinjiang Province. On March 6, 2009, she was reported to the police while she was explaining the facts about Falun Gong. Now she is being hospitalized because of liver sclerosis as a result of persecution.
13. [Lunan County, Shandong Province] Mr. Wang Xianxue Sent to a Forced Labor Camp
At 4 p.m. on March 3, 2009, the police of Dadian Town went to Duojuguanzhang to search the home of Mr. Wang Xianxue. Mr. Wang was arrested and detained in the Lunan Detention Center. Fifteen days later he was sent to a forced labor camp for an 18-month term.
14. [Shenze County, Hebei Province] Ms. An Jinting Arrested
Ms. An Jinting works at the Huali Comprehensive Service Office of the Huabei Petroleum Company, which is located in Shenze County. At 10 a.m. on March 22, 2009, she was arrested by police while she was distributing fliers about Falun Gong near the Shenze County Police Department. During the afternoon, her home was ransacked. The police took away a computer, Dafa books, and other items. Ms. An has been sent to a forced labor camp for three years.
15. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Han Lianping Arrested
On the afternoon of February 26, 2009, Ms. Han Lianping from the Zhifu District was arrested by officers from the Yingzhou Street Police Station in the Lanshan District. She was taken to the Shihuiyao Detention Center in Yingtai City. Her current whereabouts are unknown.
16. [Laiyuan County, Hebei Province] Mr. Sun Shan and His Wife Arrested
On March 21, 2009, Mr. Sun Shan and his wife were reported to the police while they were distributing fliers about Falun Gong in Yinfang Town, Laiyuan County. Later on, officers from the Yinfang Town Police Station took them away.
17. [Haicheng, Liaoning Province] Ms. Lei Hongxia Arrested
On the morning of March 23, 2009, officers from the Xiliu Police Sub-bureau of Haicheng opened the door to Ms. Lei Hongxia's home with a master key. The searched her home, took away Dafa books, and arrested Ms. Lei Hongxia. Now her whereabouts are unknown.
