We are surprised to learn that you have dismissed Ms. Wang Bo from her position. Ms. Wang was an employee of the Chengdong branch of your company. She has not been able to go to work because she was illegally arrested by Jiang Dongtao from the Simaqiao Street Administration Office in Chengdu City.
As an employee, Ms. Wang was an excellent sales person and her supervisors and co-workers commended her on her work. In one sales competition, she won a "Bronze Medal" award for her outstanding performance.
Ms. Wang is also a very filial daughter and a responsible parent. She does her best to help her son and daughter-in-law (who have not found a job yet) raise their 6 months old child. The whole family's life depended on her meager income she earned working in your company.
We are not sure if you know the real reason why Ms. Wang was detained and could not go to work. If you have made a decision to dismiss an outstanding employee without knowing the truth, we feel it is an inhumane action and it will also hurt the image of your company among Chinese consumers.
In order for your company to make the right decision on this incident, we feel it is necessary for us to explain the true facts to you. At around 9 p.m. on February 26, 2009, Ms. Wang was giving a bath to her granddaughter. Jiang Dongtao, the Director of Simaqiao Street Administration Office, along with four people went to Ms. Wang's home without any legal procedure to ransack it. Then, they used the excuse of confiscating Falun Gong materials to forcibly take away Ms. Wang from her home and detained her for 36 days. During this period, Ms. Wang and her family didn't receive any legal document for her detainment from the Simaqiao Street Administration Office or any other law enforcement department. In addition, her family wasn't allowed to see her. Ms Wang wasn't release until April 2. Even at that time, all those involved in persecuting her didn't explain what law or regulation she violated, nor did they provide any compensation for the economic and mental damages to Ms. Wang's family.
Ms. Wang and her entire family were persecuted only because of Ms. Wang's belief in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Ms. Wang couldn't appeal to any department about her incident, and now she has received a notice from your company of her dismissal!
Based on the above facts, it is likely that the supervisors at your company have been deceived by lies. We would like to explain the facts about Falun Gong:
1. It is legal to practice Falun Gong in China and it is also legal to have Falun Gong related materials
The Chinese Constitution has a stipulation about freedom of belief. The definition and difference between a "righteous religion" and an "evil cult" is not a legal issue, but a topic of spiritual belief. As long as we have had religions, there have been disputes about the difference between righteous belief and cult. Nowadays, no one thinks Christianity as an evil cult. However, in the first 300 years after Christianity was founded, it was persecuted as a cult. Since the difference between a righteous religion and a cult is not a legal question, it is not consistent to write "evil cult" into the law. Even on October 30, 1999, the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress passed "The Decision to Ban Evil Cult Organizations, Prevent and Punish the Evil Cult Activities" and "The Explanation" didn't mention or prove that Falun Gong is a cult. Therefore if anyone says that Falun Gong is a cult religion, then they don't have legal ground, nor can they prove their words that Falun Gong destructs the law. Therefore, Falun Gong is legal in China and it is also legal to have Falun Gong related materials.
2. The casual decision of your company to terminate Ms. Wang actually cooperates with the brutal persecution policy of Jiang's regime to persecute Falun Gong. At present, Falun Gong has spread to over 80 countries around the world. The nine years of bloody crackdown hasn't been able to eliminate Falun Gong. On the contrary, Falun Gong has gained more popularity and recognition. Shouldn't such a phenomenon cause you to ponder? Jiang Zemin said to "eliminate Falun Gong in 3 months" and carry out the inhuman policy to "defame" the practice. Under such vicious order, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) used the whole government to crack down on Falun Gong. The facts show that Falun Gong will never be eliminated because "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" is the universal truth and is the origin of all lives.
Your company made the decision to dismiss Ms Wang just because she was illegally arrested by Jiang Dongtao from Simaqiao Street Administration Office and could not go to work.
Honorable A.O. Smith Water Heater Co., Ltd. President, you are also a victim. Under such wide-spread lies, you have also been deceived and couldn't understand the facts about Falun Gong. We believe that after you understand the truth, you can make the right decision! Even if you cannot speak up for good people, you should not become an accomplice to the persecutors.
