(Clearwisdom.net) On May 13, 2009, William Dunaway, Mayor of the City of Marietta, Georgia issued the following proclamation in honor and recognition of Falun Dafa and urged all of the citizens of the community to observe and take part in activities recognizing the importance of health, wellness, and the strength of the human spirit.
PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, Falun Dafa, also known as Falun Gong, is an ancient practice of exercise, meditation and study that promotes good spirit, mental health, and nurtures the mind, body, and spirit; and
WHEREAS, Falun Dafa is based on the principles of Zhen-Shan-Ren (truth, compassion and forbearance), the virtue of the universe; and
WHEREAS, Falun Dafa's highest goal is to bring people to wisdom and enlightenment by applying the principles of truthfulness, compassion, and forbearance in every aspect; and
WHEREAS, cities across the nation will mark the month of May by participating in this ancient Chinese practice to promote the health and well being of people from all social backgrounds, races and religions; now
THEREFORE, I William Dunaway, Mayor of the City of Marietta, Georgia hereby issue this proclamation in honor and recognition of
FALUN DAFA (FALUN GONG)
and urge all of our citizens of this community to observe and take part in activities recognizing the importance of health, wellness, and the strength of the human spirit.
