(Clearwisdom.net) Editors' note: In both Western and Chinese cultures, the principle of karmic retribution, that is, being held ultimately accountable for one's own actions, is widely accepted. The fundamental teaching of Falun Gong is the characteristic of the universe, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. The universe will reward acts that are in harmony with this principle, while doing things such as beating, torturing and murdering people will incur karmic retribution. Stated another way, good deeds will be rewarded with good, while evildoings will meet due retribution. Articles such as this one are meant as a compassionate reminder of this principle to those who would commit wrongdoing. While many of those who persecute Falun Gong are merely "following orders," the universal law requires that they, too, be held responsible for their actions, and that only by reversing their course of wrongdoing may they escape retribution.
The following are two instances of karmic retribution to officials who engaged in persecuting Falun Gong.
Li Yongdao, from the Xinxian Sub-district, Liaohe Reclamation Administrative District, Jilin Province, dies after being hit by a motorcycle
Li Yongdao was the village chief of the Xinxian Sub-district, in the Liaohe Reclamation Administrative District, Siping City, Jilin Province. He was approximately 60 years old. On March 6, 2009, while he was jogging along the highway a motorcycle struck him head on. He was taken to a hospital in Siping City, but he remained in a coma for 24 hours. Not even two operations could revive him, and he perished.
While he was the village chief, Li Yongdao followed the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) led by then-chairman Jiang, in order to seek political gain. He often harassed and persecuted Dafa practitioners, and ordered 24-hour surveillance of practitioners. He caused extreme hardship for practitioners and their families and ultimately was the cause of practitioners being sentenced and taken to labor camps. In 2003, he was fired from the position of village chief. On March 6, 2009, he died after being struck by a motor vehicle. After hearing the news, many local people said that this was karmic retribution for Li's bad deeds.
Zhou Xiuhua, a former general manager of the Suining Electric Company, and her family receive karmic retribution
Zhou Xiuhua is over 40 years old. She refused to listen to truth clarification from Dafa practitioners and instead chose to follow the CCP in persecuting practitioners. In the summer of 2003, she continued the persecution of practitioner Ms. Liao Hongling, who worked at Suining Electric. Zhou Xiuhua fired Ms. Liao, causing Ms. Liao's husband to divorce her. Their infant daughter had no one to care for her while Ms. Liao was in the labor camp, so the neighbors took turns caring for the little girl. In the end, the little girl was taken to her grandparents in Hubei Province. Ms. Liao took her back home only after her term in the labor camp had expired. However, Ms. Liao Hongling had lost her job and she only received 9,000 yuan of unemployment assistance. Her old home was demolished and they had nowhere to live. Their situation was very difficult.
Because of her persecution of Dafa practitioners, Zhou Xiuhua suffered karmic retribution. In 2006, she was sentenced to 15 years in prison after the Procuratorate prosecuted her for embezzling large amounts of money. During the prosecution, her husband suddenly died from liver cancer. She did not have any opportunity to see her husband before he died. Her son was forced to return from his overseas studies for unknown reasons. Zhou Xiuhua is currently seriously ill and received a release for medical treatment.
