(Clearwisdom.net) Editors' Note: In both Western and Chinese culture, the principle of karmic retribution, that is, being held ultimately accountable for one's own actions, is widely accepted. The fundamental teaching of Falun Gong is the characteristic of the universe, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. The universe will reward actions that are in harmony with this principle, while actions such as beating, torturing and murdering people will incur karmic retribution. Stated another way, good deeds will be rewarded with good, while evildoings will meet due retribution. Articles such as this one are meant as a compassionate reminder of this principle to those who would commit wrongdoing. While many of those who persecute Falun Gong are merely "following orders," the universal law requires that they, too, be held responsible for their actions, and that only by reversing their course of wrongdoing may they escape retribution.

Chen Changshui was a policeman at Jinshi City Detention Center in Hunan Province. Since July 1999, Chen has actively participated in persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. Practitioners clarified the truth to him many times, but he refused to listen. He worked at the Detention House and then transferred to Jinshi City Detention Center two years ago. On April 7, 2009, Chen died at the age of 52.

Ran Qicai, 50, is from Zhengjie Community, Shaopingba of Chongqing City. For the past several years, he illegally monitored and tailed Falun Gong practitioners. When practitioners clarified the truth to him, he did not listen. Instead, he continued to actively follow the Chinese Communist Party's persecution policy and committed many wrong and immoral deeds for small gains.

In March 2009, Ran suddenly got sick and is now paralyzed. He is unable to speak or move his body and now is in a vegetative state.

Yang Bihua is the head of the first team of the 2^nd Section of Street Administration in Lushi Town, Huaying City of Guang'an. On the morning of June 10, 2008, Yang reported practitioner Deng Qixing who was distributing informational materials at Lushi Town. Police Chief Deng Licheng from Lushi Town Police Station led a few police to arrest practitioner Deng and sent him to a forced labor camp for a two year term.

Recently, Yang Bihua was diagnosed with cancer.

In June 2006, the head of Da'an City Detention Center of Jilin City, Zhang Xidong, personally force-fed practitioner Ms. Jiang Shulan who was on a hunger strike. Zhang held more than ten pairs of chopsticks in his hand and used the heads of the chopsticks to forcefully and continuously strike Ms. Jiang's mouth. Four of Ms. Jiang's teeth were knocked out. Zhang then stabbed the bunch of chopsticks into her mouth and turned the chopsticks violently. Ms. Yang's mouth was bleeding heavily. Her gums were broken and the bones were exposed. After that, Zhang used an empty water bottle with one side cut into sharp point to force-feed Ms. Yang with salt water and corn flour. He kept force-feeding her until Ms. Yang lost consciousness. Four days later, Ms. Yang died from the torture.

At the end of April 2009, Zhang Xidong was removed from his position for inciting criminals to beat other detainees. In another similar case, the head of the Detention House, Miao Fengshan, was also removed from his position.

Liu Changlin was the chief of Dongfeng County Public Security Bureau standing committee of Dongfeng County Chinese Communist Party, secretary of Politics and Law Committee, and director of the 610 Office. Liu actively persecuted Falun Gong practitioners. In 2008, two practitioners were sentenced to prison. One was the teacher of the No. 3 Middle School, Yu Liqiu. The other was salon owner Dong Yufeng. Also under Liu's authority, seven practitioners were sent to forced labor camps. They are: teachers of No. 4 Middle School Ha Jingbo and Jiang Ruoling; Wang Huien from Dongjia Grain and Oil Station; Zhao Yingkai, Jia Xiulou and Wang Yonghe from Nantunji Town. Dozens of other practitioners were detained, and dozens of practitioners were sent to the brainwashing center.

For years, the local practitioners clarified the truth to Liu Changlin through many channels, but he persisted in persecuting Falun Gong. Around May 1, 2009, Liu Changlin was disciplined as a communist party member outside the regular legal system in a manner known as "shanggui"on suspicion of supporting the mafia and lending money at usurious interest rates.
