(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 18 cities or counties in 8 provinces. In this report, 6 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 16 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Chongqing] Mr. Han Yiming and Several Other Practitioners Taken into Custody in Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province
On the evening of May 31, Mr. Han Yiming, Mr. Liu Xinyu and several other native Chongqing practitioners were taken into police custody in the Shengtaosha area in Xi Township, Bao'an District, Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province. The practitioners are being held at the Jiuwei Detention Center.

3. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Mr. Wang Bingshan's Home Searched on Various Occasions
At around 12:50 p.m. on June 8, 2009, half a dozen police officers from the Pingdu City 610 Office and the Dianzi Police Station broke into Mr. Wang Bingshan's home. No one was at home. The officers took a computer, a printer, a DVD player, a cellular phone, a set of Falun Dafa books, several thousand yuan in cash, and other items. The officers also took the keys to Mr. Wang's recently purchased residence and confiscated a computer monitor there.
Two years ago on June 14, 2007, officers from the Dianzi Police Station searched Mr. Wang's home. At around 2:00 p.m. on July 17, 2007, Zhang Yi and other officers forcibly took Mr. Wang to the Dianzi Police Station. Liu Jie of the 610 Office extorted 10,000 yuan from him before releasing him. The officers threatened him not to expose the extortion.
At noon on May 8, 2008, members of the Pingdu City 610 Office and officers from the Dianzi Police Station entered Mr. Wang's home in an attempt to arrest him. Mr. Wang had to quit his job and stay out of town with nowhere to live. On July 17 and August 14 in 2008, officers from the Dianzi Police Station showed up at his home to harass his family.
4. [Anda City, Heilongjiang Province] Additional Information on Arrest of Ms. Yu Xiaohua and Ms. Hao Guiyun
On the morning of June 7, Ms. Yu Xiaohua and Ms. Hao Guiyun, both in their fifties and from Anda City, went to Wanbaoshan Town on bicycle to tell others about the persecution. On their way back, officers from the Wanbaoshan Town Police Station intercepted the two practitioners. Ms. Hao has been taken to the Anda Administrative Detention Center for custody. Ms. Yu has been taken to the Anda Detention Center.

5. [Yongchang County, Gansu Province] Police Extort Money from Ms. Yan Xiuying
Ms. Yan Xiuying wrote a solemn statement to nullify documents she was forced to sign while detained. Li Guoyu and other police officers in Yongchang County then tracked her down. They extorted 1,000 yuan from Ms. Yan for writing the statement.

7. [Qinzhou City, Guangxi Autonomous Region] Ms. Zeng Jiying and Mr. Chen Shengrong Taken into Custody
At around noon on June 11, Ms. Zeng Jiying and Mr. Chen Shengrong went out to hand out leaflets. Officers from the 610 Office of the Qinnan District Political and Judiciary Committee and the Domestic Security Division of the district's police department took them into custody. The two practitioners are being held at the Domestic Security Division of the Qinnan District Police Department for interrogation.

8. [Anshun City, Guizhou Province] Ms. Wei Juntao Taken into Custody
At around 3:00 p.m. on June 4, half a dozen police officers, led by Lu Yongmei of the Domestic Security Division of the Xixiu District Police Department in Anshun City, broke into Ms. Wei Juntao's home. The officers searched her home and confiscated Falun Dafa books and a portrait of the founder of Falun Gong. Ms. Wei was taken into custody. Her whereabouts are unknown.
Ms. Wei, in her sixties, is retired from Anshu Liquor Factory. She has been taken to labor camps and brainwashing centers on numerous occasions.

10. [Beijing] Situation of Practitioners Taken into Custody on April 21
Mr. Dong Guangwen has been taken to a detention center in Beijing. Ms. Zhang Jinhua, Ms. Li Baoli, and Ms. Zhang Wenying have been unlawfully sentenced to forced labor. They are being held at a detention center.
11. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Li Hongyan Taken to Xinglongshan Brainwashing Center
Ms. Li Hongyan, around 40 years old, lives in the Binhe Residential Community in Nanguan District. In 2008, she was unlawfully sentenced to one year of forced labor. She returned home on May 25, 2009. On the morning of June 10, officers from the 610 Office took her from her home to the Xinglongshan Brainwashing Center.
12. [Yueyang City, Hunan Province] Mr. Zhao Qunshan, Ms. Zeng Chun and Ms. Wang Hongbo Taken into Custody
At around 8:00 p.m. on June 7, 2009, a dozen police officers, led by Shen Wenxin head of the Junshan District Domestic Security Division in Yueyang City, unlawfully pried open Mr. Zhao Qunshan's home's door. The officers took into custody Mr. Zhao and his wife Ms. Zeng Chun, who is in her thirties. They twisted the two practitioners' arms behind their backs, and each had one arm pulled back above the shoulders, and then handcuffed them in the painful "carrying a sword on the back" position.
Four officers held Ms. Zeng on the ground while slapping her face. Ms. Zeng suffered injuries behind her ears, where it swelled. Her hands were also swollen. The officers continued to beat her during the interrogation. Mr. Zhao was brutally beaten by six police officers in a separate room. The police also searched the couple's home, which the officers had staked out for several days. The same group of officers took into custody Mr. Zhao's older sister, Ms. Zhao Qunlan, earlier.
These officers went to search the home of a female practitioner with the last name Zhou. They also took into custody Ms. Wang Hongbo in Cengshan Town, Junshan District. Ms. Wang is around 70 years old.
Ms. Zeng and Ms. Wang are being held at the Hubin Detention Center. The whereabouts of Mr. Zhao are unknown.
13. [Mei County, Guangdong Province] Ms. Zhang Xiaoyun Faces Unlawful Trial
On April 8, 2009, Ms. Zhang Xiaoyun in Mei County was taken into custody. She was held at the Fuda Detention Center in Mei County for almost two months, during which time she suffered severe mental and physical abuse. On June 8, the Mei County Procuratorate filed charges against Ms. Zhang. The Mei County Court is scheduled to hold a court session at 8:45 a.m. on June 18.
14. [Xinbin County, Liaoning Province] Mr. Liu Junbo Taken to Brainwashing Center
In May 2009, Mr. Liu Junbo in Xinbin County, Fushun City was released from a detention center. On June 9, he was taken from his work unit to the Luotaishanzhuang Brainwashing Center in Fushun City.
15. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Mr. Huang Futang and Several Other Practitioners Taken into Custody
Between June 6 and June 8, several practitioners in Zhangdian District, Zibo City were taken into custody, including the following verified individuals: Mr. Huang Futang, Ms. Fan Cuizhen, Ms. Wang Xiuhong, and Ms. Lian Bo.
16. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Two Practitioners Taken into Police Custody
On the evening of June 7, a practitioner with the last name Lin, from Nangang Disstrict, Harbin City, was taken into police custody while handing out truth clarification materials. At 8:00 p.m. the same evening, Ms. Guang Yunqing was taken into custody by officers from the Wenhua Police Station and the Gexin Police Station. Her home was searched. The police extorted 5,000 yuan from her family before releasing her that night. The following day, the police went to Ms. Guan's home again, demanding her family turn her in to the police.
17. [Gongzhuling City, Jilin Province] Police Attempting to Frame Ms. Li Hui and Ms. Wang Hua
The Gongzhuling City Procuratorate has returned Ms. Li Hui and Ms. Wang Hua's cases to the Domestic Security Division in Gongzhuling City on the grounds of lack of evidence. However, the Domestic Security Division is still trying to fabricate evidence to frame the two practitioners.
18. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Sun Aiqun Taken into Custody
On the evening of June 7, Ms. Sun Aiqun, from Fushan District, Yantai City, was turned in to the police while distributing truth-clarification materials. Officers from a police station in the High Tech and New Industries District took her into custody. Later, Mou Qidong, head of the Fushan District 610 Office, took her away. Ms. Sun is being held at the Fushan District 610 Office.
19. [Kunming City, Yunnan Province] Ms. He Lixia Missing
Ms. He Lixia, 54, has been missing since May 15, 2009.
20. [Longkou City, Shandong Province] Follow-up Report on Ms. Liu Haiyan, Held in Custody
Ms. Liu Haiyan is an employee at the Techincal School of the Longkou Mining Affairs Department. On May 25, she was turned in to the police while handing out fliers with persecution facts and telling people about Falun Dafa. She has been held at the Zhangjiagou Detention Center in Longkou City for 14 days. Her father is over 70 years old. He almost collapsed upon learning that his daughter was being taken into police custody.
