(Clearwisdom.net) On the evening of February 19, 2005, officers from the Twelfth Police Station in Tiexi District, Shenyang City, Liaoning Province arrested Ms. Yuan Shuzhe in front of the Shijilianhua Market. While in the police station, she was tortured before being taken to the Shenyang City Detention Center.
As soon as Ms. Yuan arrived at the police station, an officer handcuffed Ms. Yuan to a chair. The handcuffs were not removed until she entered the detention center. Officer Qin Siguang, who was in his forties, and agent Zhang Wei from the Tiexi District 610 Office, who joined later, then interrogated her. Ms. Yuan would not answer any of their questions.
On the second day, Qin Siguang called in all of the community directors. The Qingle District director identified Ms. Yuan. Qin was pleased, and made many calls to summon torture experts. Since it was during the Chinese New Year season, he had to wait.
At around 9:00 p.m., Qin Siguang took Ms. Yuan to the deputy director's office on the second floor. Three torture experts from the Tiexi District Police Department entered the room. Two were tall and one was short. Ms. Yuan's hands were handcuffed behind her back. They stepped on her to make her squat. Then the short torturer squatted before her, and while holding her chin, asked, "Are you Yuan Shuzhe?" She would not answer. They repeatedly struck her head with full water bottles for a time until the short torturer asked again, "Are you Yuan Shuzhe?" Still, she did not answer. All three of the torturers beat her head. The two tall torturers stretched her arms upward as far as they could, inserted a needle into the tip of her right middle finger until it was about halfway in, then he turned the needle and pulled it out. Afterward, he "milked" her finger forcing blood out. They forcefully pressed their hands deep against her collar bone. At the same time, they used a pen-shaped stick to beat her kidneys until she began to dry heave. Exhausted, they left at around 11:00 p.m., still with no answer.
Ms. Yuan was then sent to the Shenyang City Detention Center. She was crippled as a direct result of the extensive period of time that she had been handcuffed in this process, and tortured at the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp. The two police officers who provided false evidence were Qin Siguang and Bai Jingang from the Twelfth Police Station.
The officers from the Twelfth Police Station searched Ms. Yuan's home without her family being present. They seized property worth more than 17,000 yuan and took several hundred yuan in cash. Her family was not given a list of confiscated property.
