(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 13 cities or counties in 7 provinces. In this report,6 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 29 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Jiaozuo City, Hunan Province] Ms. Liu Shuzhen Arrested
Ms. Liu Shuzhen lives in Jiaozuo City and is 71 years old. In the afternoon on May 19, 2009, she was arrested by officers from the Jiaozuo Police Station. This was her ninth arrest by Jiaozuo police within the past 10 years. She was either taken to a brainwashing center or imprisoned at the Jiaozuo Detention Center in the past. She is now being detained at the Xinxiang Women's Jail and is being tortured.
2. [Linghai City, Liaoning Province] More Than Ten Practitioners Arrested
In the morning on June 18, 2009, Dai Lihua, police inspector from Yuji Town, Linghai City, and other officers conspired with officials from the Linghai State Security Bureau and the Anti-Riot Brigade to arrest Mr. Zhao Tingwu, his wife, and other practitioners. The officers also confiscated Falun Dafa books and other materials from Mr. Zhao's home.
3. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Guiyun and Ms. Lao Gong Arrested
On the afternoon of June 16, 2009, officers from the Guilin Road Local Police Station arrested Ms. Wang Guiyun and Ms. Lao Gong when they were clearing up misconceptions about Falun Gong in the Minkang Road Area. Ms. Wang is being detained in the Weizi Detention Center and Ms. Lao was released.
4. [Diaobingshan City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Ma Liye and Mr. Zhang Hongbo Arrested
At around 10:00 a.m. on June 16, 2009, Mr. Ma Liye was arrested at his workplace, the Xiaokangkuang Hot Water Factory, by the Diaobingshan City Law Committee, City Police Bureau, and Xiaokangkuang Residential Police Station officials. They confiscated a computer, printer, and some truth clarification materials. He is being detained in the Diaobingshan Detention Center.
On June 17, 2009, Mr. Zhang Hongbo was arrested at his workplace, the Xiaokangkuang Electric Company, by the Diaobingshan City Law Committee, City Police Bureau, and Xiaokangkuang Residential Police Station officials. He was taken to a brainwashing session at the Education Center of Liaoning Province.

5. [Chaoyang County, Liaoning Province] Information about the Persecution of Mr. Li Dechun
Mr. Li Dechun and his wife, Ms. Yuan Zhenci, live in Lalatun Village, Liucheng Town, Chaoyang County. On May 19, 2009, they were arrested by the State Security Division from Chaoyang County. Ms. Yuan was released and went home on May 20, 2009. Mr. Li is still being detained in the Chaoyang County Detention Center.
6. [Sanmenxia City, Hunan Province] Mr. Liu Jianfeng, Ms. Liu Xiaoxia, Ms. Zhang Zuzhi, and Ms. Gao Fengjie Arrested
Plainclothes officers took pictures of Mr. Liu Jianfeng, Ms. Liu Xiaoxia, Ms. Zhang Zuzhi, and Ms. Gao Fengjie when they were exposing the facts about the persecution. On the morning of June 16, 2009, when on their way to expose the persecution again, they were arrested by the City Security Division from the Fubing District, Sanmenxia City, at the long-distance bus station.
7. [Panzhihua City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Huang Xiuying and Ms. Wang Shuhua Arrested
Ms. Huang Xiuying is a retired doctor from Yuanpangang Hospital in Panzhihua City and is about 70 years old. At around 11:00 a.m. on June 10, 2009, she was arrested by Panzhihua City officers in her home.
Ms. Wang Shuhua lives in Panzhihua City and is about 60 years old. At around 6:00 a.m. on June 18, 2009, she was arrested by staff from the East District Area Zaoziping Local Police Station and the City Security Division in Panzhihua City. Police also confiscated their personal belongings.
8. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zhang Lihua Sentenced
Ms. Zhang Lihua was sentenced to a three-year prison term by the Suihuanongken District Court. On May 20, 2009, she was taken to the Harbin Women's Prison.
9. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Cai Guifang Arrested
In August 2008, Ms. Cai Guifang was arrested by officers from Jiangchuan Police Station in Hongxinglong when she was clarifying the facts about Falun Gong. After being detained for five months at the Jiangchuan Police Station, she was sentenced to a three-and-a-half year term in the Harbin Women's Prison. When in the training center unit, she was tortured and looked emaciated. Her blood pressure reached a high of 210. Because of her imprisonment, her husband wants to divorce her.
10. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang] Mr. Gu Yunpeng, Mr. Gao Ke Arrested
Mr. Gu Yunpeng and Mr. Gao Ke were arrested. Mr. Gao Ke was sentenced to a one-year prison term in a forced labor camp.
11. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang] Ms. Lin Junfen Arrested
Ms. Lin Junfen, 63 years old, who lives in the Nangang District, was arrested on June, 2009. She was sentenced to a one-year prison term.
12. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Jiang Xia Arrested on June, 2009
13. [Tonghe County, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Chang Zongxiang Sentenced
Mr. Chang Zongxiang was sentenced to a seven-year prison term in the Harbin Women's Prison.
14. [Beijing] Ms. Cao Ruilan Arrested
Ms. Cao Ruilan lives in the Jugezhuang Iron Factory Apartment, Miyun County, Beijing, and is about 50 years old. She was arrested on June 17, 2009, when she was on her way to Beijing.
15. [Beijing] Ms. Zhao Defen Arrested
Ms. Zhao Defen lives in the East Garden District, Taihe, Pinggu, and is about 40 years old. On June 4, 2009, she was arrested by the Beijing State Security Ministry Police while she was handing out materials to clear up misconceptions about Falun Gong.
16. [Laiyang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Zhimei Sentenced
Ms. Liu Zhimei lives in Xuefang Town, Laiyang City, and is 31 years old. She was sentenced to a seven-year and six-month prison term for practicing Falun Gong and for distributing materials to clear up misconceptions about Falun Gong at Tsinghua University. Other practitioners arrested at the same time were her professors, and some of them received sentences as long as 18 years.
Ms. Liu Zhimei was released and went home in February 2009. Because of torture and harassment her spirit was broken. She became mentally unstable and couldn't take care of herself. Her mother was deeply affected by these tragic events and passed away. Her father has to stay home and take care of Ms. Liu. He is without a job and income and they live in poverty.
17. [Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province] Mr. Li Yongjie and Other Practitioners Transferred to Local Detention Center
On May 29, 2009, when doing the Falun Gong exercises and sharing cultivation experiences at a friend's home, Mr. Li Yongjie, Ms. Zhang Shuchun, Ms. Wang Haohong, Mr. Wang Lianglin, Mr. Wang Renqing, Ms. Liu Xuezhen, Mr. Liu Shuwen, and Ms. Lu Meie were arrested by officers from the 610 Office from Zhaoyuan City and were taken to a brainwashing center. A few days later, Mr. Yang Wenjie and Mr. Peng Yuekuan were also arrested and taken to the same brainwashing center. Some practitioners' homes were ransacked and their personal belongings were confiscated. On June 15, 2009, Mr. Li Yongjie, Ms. Zhang Shuchun, Ms. Wang Haohong, and Mr. Peng Yuekuan were transferred to the local detention center.
18. [Li County, Hebei Province] Ms. Cai Guiju Sentenced to a Four-Year Prison Term
On June 30, 2008, Ms. Cai Guiju and Ms. Ouyang Zhandong from Inner Mongolia went to Gaoyang County to talk to people about the persecution. They were arrested by officers from the Gaoyang Chengguan Police Station. That afternoon, a group of officers ransacked Ms. Cai Guiju's home and confiscated a computer, printer, Falun Dafa books, and some discs. Ms. Cai was sentenced to a four-year prison term by the Gaoyang Court. On June 15, 2009, she was taken to the Shijiazhuang Women's Prison.
19. [Nanzheng County, Shanxi Province] Ms. Ma Zhixing and Ms. Li Yuhua Arrested
Ms. Ma Zhixing and Ms. Li Yuhua live in Nanzheng County. On the morning of June 12, 2009, officers arrested them when they were handing out materials about the persecution of Falun Gong in Lujiagou Village. They are being detained at the Nanzheng County Detention Center.
