(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 34 cities or counties in 14 provinces. In this report, 34 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 49 practitioners were illegally arrested.

Mr. Chen Mingang, in his 30s, is a teacher at the Medical College of Nanchang University. On May 15, 2009, twenty people from the Neighborhood Committee and the local police station went to the First Hospital Affiliated with the Medical College of Nanchang University and arrested him. His home was also searched. They took away his bankbook, Dafa materials and other personal property.

On May 13, 2009, Mr. Shang Weifeng was sent to the Wangcun Forced Labor Camp by the Laiwu police. On the same day, Mr. Lu Changming, Ms. Liu Aifang and Mr. Liu Xiaohai were sent to the same camp.

On March 25, 2008, Ms. Xiao Sun from Boshan managed to escape from the 610 Office. She became homeless and destitute ever since. On May 15, 2009, she was arrested again.

At the same time, Mr. Wang Zhongshi from Boshan was also arrested.

Mr. Wang Zhongshi's wife was arrested in 2007. She is still being detained in the Jinan Prison.

At 8:00 a.m. on May 13, 2009, several policemen from the Qiaoguan Town Police Station in Changle County, Weifang City broke into the home of Mr. Zhao Yancheng and arrested his wife Ms. Xing Ruiying. The police also took away a TV, a DVD player, a MP3 player and a picture of Master Li. Ms. Xing Ruiying has now been released.

The police also arrested Mr. Liu Baoting from Junqiuguanzhuang Village and Mr. Xiao Meng from Shuigoujian Village.

On April 10, 2009, Liu Chunxiang from the Changle County 610 Office and Yu Jianjun, Chief of the Wutu Police Station, led people to ransack the homes of Mr. Wang Yanhua, Mr. Liu Jincheng and Mr. Li Quanzhong in Xishangtong Village. They arrested Wang Yanhua and his wife, Liu Jincheng and his wife, and Mr. Li Quanzhong. The practitioners were tied to metal chairs in the Wutu Police Station.

Mr. Wang Yanhua's family was extorted out of 5,000 yuan and Mr. Liu Jincheng's family out of 3,000 yuan. They took away a TV, a DVD player and a cellphone from Mr. Li Quanzhong's home. The total value was about 1,800 yuan.

On the night of May 15, 2009, Ms. Wei Jinying and Ms. Yu Jing were arrested by police from the Gudong Police Station in Fuzhou City. On that night, their homes were also searched by police.

At 4:00 p.m. on May 15, 2009, Ms. Deng Xueqin and Ms. Dai Aimin were arrested by the Hongan national security police led by Yao Xuejun while they were distributing fliers about Falun Gong. Their homes were then searched. The police took all their Dafa books. The two practitioners are being detained in the Hongan First Detention Center.

On April 29, 2009, Ms. Tang Yuan and another practitioner were arrested while they were distributing materials about Falun Gong. Ms. Tang Yuan is being detained in the Chengdu City Detention Center.

Ms. Zhou Yaping had previously been sentenced to three years in prison. She was released in December 2008. On the afternoon of May 6, 2009, Ms. Zhou Yaping, who is in her 30s, was reported to police while she was explaining the facts about Falun Gong in Congzhou County, Chengdu City. She was arrested by the local police and is still being detained.

Ms. Zhao Fenghua lives in Zhujia Village, Koubu Town, Qingzhou City. On April 1, 2009, she was arrested by police in Weifang City, Shandong Province. Later on, she was detained in the Qingzhou Police Department. One month later, she was sent to the Wangcun Forced labor Camp.

Ms. Sha Jinghua, 60 years old, lives in Qianguan Village, Dalianwan Town, Dalian City. On the night of May 17, 2009, she was taken away by security guards from Qianguan Village and sent to the Dafangshen Police Station. Her home was searched and copies of Zhuan Falun and "Minghui Weekly" were taken away. At 4:00 p.m. on May 18, 2009, she was sent to the Yaojia Detention Center.

Ms. Xia Lingmei works in the Central People's Hospital of Shanting District in Zaozhuang City. On the afternoon of May 14, 2009, she was taken away by the national security team of Shanting District Police Department from her office. Her home was also searched. Ms. Liang Yuying, 56, is a villager from Silong Town, Baiyin City. In the winter of 2000, she was detained for 45 days because she went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. During the detention, guards tortured her by burning her nose with cigarettes.

In 2001, Ms. Liang was arrested again while she was explaining the facts about Falun Gong to people. She was detained in the Baiyin Detention Center for 35 days. During the detention, the guards ordered drug addicts to torture Ms. Liang. Soon after going home, Ms. Liang was secretly arrested by police from the Baiyin City Police Department and the 610 Office at 2:00 a.m. on May 13, 2002 and then sent to the Pingantai Forced Labor Camp in Lanzhou City. In the forced labor camp, Ms. Liang was forced to perform hard labor. During the daytime, she did work outdoors. At night, she picked herb seeds. She was often forced to work all night. The guards ordered drug addicts to hang up and beat Ms. Liang Yuying and force her to write the three statements to give up Falun Gong.

On the morning of May 18, 2009, Ms. Zhu Jinhua was arrested by the Shaowu City National Security Team while she was explaining the facts about Falun Gong in the Xichun Park. Her home was also searched.

At 4:30 p.m. on April 8, 2009, Mr. Li Ming was using the Internet at home. Police from the 610 Office and the national security team broke into his home and arrested him. Soon after, his wife Ms. Zhang Maoyun came home after picking up their daughter. Ms. Zhang was also arrested. The police took away a computer, a printer, a CD burner, a MP3 player, a cell phone, Dafa books, and other items. The total value of the items taken away was about 10,000 yuan.

After being arrested, the couple was detained in the detention center of the Yanzhou City Police Department. In the detention center, they were often interrogated and forced to do hard labor. Every day, each person had to peel 30 to 40 pounds of garlic. Recently, they were transferred to the Yanzhou Detention Center to await their sentence.

On May 11, 2009, Ms. Yang Jinxiu was explaining the facts about Falun Gong at Sanhechang, Xindu District, Chengdu City. She was taken away by police from the Sanhechang Police Station. Now she is being detained in the Xindu District Detention Center.

Ms. Ning Xiuying from Zhangqiao Village, Luocheng was arrested. Her husband Mr. Li Yiming was sentenced to prison in 2008. Now only their 14-year-old daughter is left at home alone.

Ms. Zhang Xiuqin was sent to forced labor camp. The camp did not inform her family to take her back until she could not talk and was severely ill as a result of persecution.

At 8:00 p.m. on May 15, 2009, three or four people with unknown identities went to search the home of Mr. Fan Lishu. They took away a computer, a cell phone and Dafa books. Mr. Fan Lishu was also taken away.

On the afternoon of May 13, 2009, eight policemen from the Masong Police Station in Changle County, Weifang City broke into the home of Mr. Chu Daoan and arrested him. They also searched his home and took away 5000 yuan cash, a computer, a DVD player, etc.

Ms. Ren Huayun and Ms. Wang Xiuxia live in Changgezhuang Village, Liubeizhai Township, Zunhua City. On the morning of March 20, 2009, they were reported to police while they were distributing DVDs about Shen Yun shows at the Daiguantun Market in Yutian County. They were taken away from the market and detained in the Matoushan Detention Center of Yutian County for 15 days. Now they are being detained in the Kaiping District Forced Labor Camp in Tangshan City.

At 10:00 p.m. on May 8, 2009, police from the Xin County National Security Team arrested Mr. Zhao Jicang, who lives in Chengwang Village, Wangzhuangji Township, Xin County. Now he is being detained in the Xin County Detention Center.

At 9:00 a.m. on May 15, 2009, Ms. Li Shuhua and another Falun Dafa practitioner went to the morning market to clarify the truth and advise people to quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations. They were arrested by police and their homes were searched. The police took away Dafa books and some materials. Now Ms. Li is being detained in the Tangshan Detention Center.

At 11:00 a.m. on May 23, 2009, Ms. Wei Ping from Guancheng District was taken away from her home by police from the Guancheng District National Security Team, the Chengdong Road Police Station and the 610 Office. Her home was also searched. The police took away two Falun Dafa exercise tapes and Master Li's picture. Now her whereabouts are unknown.

Ms. Guo Baozhu lives in the Baoquanxin Village, Baobi Township, Huixian City. On May 2, 2009, she was reported to police and taken away by the Baobi Township Police Station. She was detained in the Huixian Detention Center for two weeks. On May 17, 2009, her daughter went to pick her up. However, her current whereabouts are unknown.

The Hedong Retirement Administration Committee of Maoming Petrochemical Company deceived Ms. Guo Xiuqun into going to their office. She was subsequently seized and taken to a brainwashing center. On May 11, 2009, she was secretly transferred to an unknown location.

On March 10, 2009, Ms. Liu Guihua was taken to the county national security team while she was distributing materials about Falun Gong in governmental buildings of Dingpin Town, Lingshui County. Her home was searched. Later on, she was transferred to the Lingshui County Detention Center. When her younger sister went to visit her, her sister's cell phone and other property were confiscated, and her sister was beaten.

On the morning of April 13, 2009, Ms. Wang Qizhen, Mr. Zhang Guorong and Ms. Luo Shixiu distributed flyers about Falun Gong in the rural area of Guanyin Town. They were reported to police and then taken away. On that night, police from the Linghui County national security team and the 610 Office went to search the home of Ms. Wang Qizhen.

Ms. Wang Qizhen is being detained in the Lingshui County Detention Center. Mr. Zhang Guorong and Ms. Luo Shixiu are being detained in the Gang'an City Detention Center.

On the night of May 3, 2009, Mr. Lu Yeju and Ms. Wang Xianzhen were arrested by the Zhangzhuangpu Police Station and the Gongan County National Security Team while they were explaining the facts about Falun Gong. After being detained in the county detention center for seven days, Ms. Wang Xianzhen was taken home by her family. At 6 a.m. on May 15, 2009, the county national security team and the 610 Office secretly sent Mr. Lu Yeju to a brainwashing center.

On May 15, 2009, Ms. Deng Juying, Ms. Wang Qixiang, Ms. Zhang Yinghua and Ms. Dai Liyun were reported to police while they were explaining the facts about Falun Gong on a ferry across the Yuanjiang River. They were arrested by police from the Taichang Police Station. On that day, their homes were ransacked.

Ms. Ye Guixiang lives at Yuhuang Street, Longgang District, Huludao City. At 9:00 a.m. on May 8, 2009, she was arrested by the Longgang District 610 Office and sent to the Fushun Brainwashing Center.

On May 13, 2009, police from the Taibaozhuang Police Station went to the houses of Mr. Zhang Baifu and Mr. Luo Yuhai in Luojiabu Village, Yuanzhangling and arrested them.

At 10:00 p.m. on May 13, 2009, five or six policemen from the Taibaozhuang Police Station went to search the home of Mr. Sun Huaisen in Baojiaying Village, Changyi City. At 11:00 p.m., police went to the home of Mr. Sun Huaisen's son and took away a copy of Zhuan Falun and a Walkman. On that night, Mr. Su Huaisen's son was taken away. He was detained in the Weifang Detention Center for ten days.

At noon on May 18, 2009, Ms. Gao Heping and Ms. Zhao Jiuzhi went to a residential building of the Coal Selecting Factory to explain the facts about Falun Gong. They were spotted by the landlord and locked in a room. The landlord also deceived Mr. Zhang Xinjie into going to that same building in name of selling a house. Mr. Zhang went there and was also locked in the room. The landlord then reported the three practitioners to police. They were taken away by the Gongnong Police Department of Hegang City, and their homes were also searched. Now they are being detained in the Second Detention Center.

In April 2009, Ms. Wei Xiuying from Jincheng Town was detained in the Linghai City Detention Center. At the beginning of May 2009, the guards forcibly carried her to the Linghai City Chinese Medicine Hospital. At that time, her face had been beaten to disfigurement. On the morning of April 15, 2009, Li Fuguo from the national security team of Tanghai County Police Department ordered two policemen and the principal of the high school to arrest Mr. Huo Yinxian and search his home.
