(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Meng Fanzhen and her son were arrested again on May 25, 2009 and are presently detained at the Jiading District Detention Center in Shanghai. As a result, Meng's family has been torn apart.
Ms. Meng Fanzhen is 60 years old and returned to Shanghai after she retired in Xinjiang Autonomous Region. She started practicing Falun Gong in 1998. She enjoyed the great benefits from practicing Falun Gong and then introduced it to her husband, Xie Xiantai and her elder son, Xie Heng. After her husband began to practice, his illnesses disappeared miraculously.
In October 2000, Ms. Meng and her son Xie Heng went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. They were arrested before they even arrived at the appeals office. At that time, Meng was detained for five days and Xie was detained at the Dafeng Forced Labor Camp in Jiangsu Province and held for one year.
Shortly after Xie returned home, his mother was arrested again because she told her friend "Falun Dafa is good! Falun Dafa is righteous! The self-immolation is false." She was subjected to two years of forced labor and detained at the Wingpu Women's Forced Labor Camp in Shanghai and suffered from brainwashing sessions.
Two months before Ms. Meng was released from the camp, the police beguiled her son out of his workplace and then arrested him and ransacked his home. In order to get feigned evidence, the policemen induced Xie Heng to make a confession. They did not allow him to go to sleep for two days and three nights, nor did they allow him to eat something. They used a variety of vicious means to torture him and even took his father, Xie Xiantai to the police station to record a confession from him. The policemen threatened, "A person who hides evidence of a crime will be put into prison." Meng's younger son, who is not a practitioner, was also arrested and detained for one day and one night. They extorted 3000 Yuan from him as a so-called bail before they released him.

Ms. Meng was arrested again in 2007 and detained at a forced labor camp for one year. At that time her younger son was left alone at home and lived a life filled with starvation and hardships. He died early this year.
The CCP intended to use the Shanghai World Expo as an excuse for arresting large numbers of Falun Gong practitioners. Meng Fanzhen's son and husband died and her family has been torn apart due to the persecution. Additionally, the CCP is planning to entice Meng and her son.
