(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 24 cities or counties in 9 provinces. In this report, 32 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 19 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Chongqing City] Ms. Zhang Yingqiong Arrested and Sentenced to Forced Labor Camp
Ms. Zhang Yingqiong, over 60 years old, is a Falun Gong practitioner. On April 10, 2009, Tongna Domestic Security Division police Luo Yonghong and others ransacked her home and arrested her. They took her to the Tongna County Detention Center. On April 28, officers Luo Yonghong and Li Hengyi took Ms. Zhang to a forced labor camp in Chongqing. After showing severe high blood pressure and diabetes symptoms due to torture, her family members were notified and told to bail her out for medical treatment. She was released on June 30.
2. [Wangdu County, Hebei Province] Ms. Sun Xingkun Arrested and Sentenced to Three-Year Prison Term
Ms. Sun Xingkun, 41 years old, is a practitioner from Zhangguo Village, Jiacun Township, Wangdu County. She clarified the facts about Falun Gong via TV. Wangdu Court sentenced her to a three-year prison term. On the morning of July 1, 2009, she was taken to Shijiazhuang Women's Prison.
3. [Shanxi Province] Mr. Wang Wuzhan and Ms. Yang Gaijuan Sentenced to Prison
On June 24, the Pinglu County Court put Mr. Wang Wuzhan and Ms. Yang Gaijuan on trial and sentenced them to a five- and three-year prison terms respectively.
4. [Xinzhou City, Shanxi Province] Ms. Di Meirong Sentenced
On the morning of July 2, Xinzhou City practitioner Ms. Di Meirong was taken to the Shanxi Province Women's Prison.
5. [Danyang City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Yang Linzhen Arrested
In mid-June 2008, Danyang practitioners Mr. Yang Hanzhen and Mr. Yang Yuzhen were reported for installing a satellite antenna for practitioner Wang Yuqin. The Danyang City 610 Office sentenced Mr. Yang Hanzhen to two years of forced labor, and Mr. Yang Yuzhen and Wang Yuqin to one and a half years of forced labor each. Mr. Yang Yuzhen was diagnosed with heart disease during a physical examination at Judong Forced Labor Camp, Jiangsu. He was released.
On May 5, 2009, Mr. Yang Linzhen and family visited his second oldest brother, Mr. Yang Hanzhen. Because he gave his brother an electronic book, officers with the Dafeng City Police Station, 610 Office, and the Domestic Security Division detained him at the Dafeng City Detention Center. Later, the police found Dafa CDs and materials at Mr. Yang Linzhen's home.
6. [Panzhihua City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Wu Mingshan in Life-threatening Condition
Panzhihua City practitioner Mr. Wu Mingshan is 60 years old. On March 19, 2009, he was reported and arrested when he was distributing materials clearing up misconceptions about Falun Gong in a village in Xinhua, Hunan. He was detained at Wanyaoshu Detention Center in Panzhihua City. In May, he was in a life-threatening condition. His blood pressure reached 220, and he fainted from torture.
7. [Dingxing County, Hebei Province] Mr. Song Qisheng Arrested and Tortured
Mr. Song Qisheng is a firm practitioner. In March 2002, the Dingxing County 610 Office confiscated his home and arrested and tortured him brutally. He is now blind in his right eye because of torture with an electric baton. He was hung on a two-meter-tall pipe with his hands cuffed behind his back and tortured on the Tiger Bench. His elbow was twisted and injured. Then he was taken to a detention center. He was tortured and his internal organs were injured. He could no longer eat.
In October 2003, Mr. Song was sentenced to a seven-year prison term and placed in Team No. 5 of Tangshan Prison. He was tortured, held in a small cell, beaten, and kicked. He was not given any food.
8. [Huludao, Liaoning Province] Ms. Yang Hong Brutally Tortured
Liaoning Province Women's Prison guards brutally tortured Ms. Yang Hong, who is in Prison No. 1. She is weak, sick, and disabled. Ms. Yang refused to work, so they locked her into a small cell. She went on a hunger strike and force-fed her in the prison hospital. Family visits were denied.
9. [Haicheng City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Zhang Junfeng and Others Arrested
On July 2, 2009, Mr. Zhang Junfeng of Niuzhuang Town Haicheng City and Ms. Li of Wenxiang Town were arrested. They lived in a rented house in Haicheng City.
10. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Xu Meihua and Others Arrested
On July 1, 2009, Dalian City practitioners Ms. Xu Meihua, Ms. Yan Shuhua, and Ms. Liu Yanqing were incarcerated in Yaojia Detention Center.
11. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Additional Information about Ms. Geng Yufeng and Ms. Jiao Fengzhi
On June 9, 2009, officers from the Jiahe Police Station, Tangjiafang, Pulandian, Dalian City, arrested Ms. Geng Yufeng and Ms. Jiao Fengzhi. They are now in Yaojia Detention Center in Dalian.

12. [Beipiao City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Guan Yongguo Arrested
At 9 a.m. on July 3, 2009, officers from the Beipiao City Public Security Bureau Domestic Security Division, Shuanghe Police Station, and Shuanghe Administrative District broke into the home of Mr. Guan Yongguo, confiscated a copy of Zhuan Falun, a photo of Teacher, and two MP4s. They interrogated Mr. Guan at the Shuanghe Police Station and took him to the Beipiao City Detention Center that day.

13. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Xu Meihua and Ms. Yan Shuhua Transferred to Dalian and Yaojia Detention Centers
On July 1, 2009, Ms. Xu Meihua and Ms. Yan Shuhua were transferred to the Dalian and Yaojia Detention Centers by the Gezhenbao Police Station in Dalian City.
14. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Wang Hong Arrested
Mr. Wang Hong of Huangqi Village, Xinbin County, Fushun City, was reported and arrested by police at his clinic. His computer, printer, and other properties were confiscated. He is now in the Nangou Detention Center in Fushun City.

15. [Tianjin City] Ms. Zhang Xiumin Arrested and Home Ransacked
Ms. Zhang Xiumin of Yangliuqing Town, Xiqing District, Tianjin City, is over 60 years old. On July 1, 2009, she was reported. Officers from the Zhendong Police Station in Yangliuqing Town arrested her and ransacked her home. Falun Dafa materials, such as the "Minghui Weekly," printer paper, and other items were confiscated. She is now in the Caozhuangzi Detention Center.
16. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Sun Shuzhen and Three Other Practitioners Arrested
At about 6 a.m. on July 1, 2009, four practitioners from the Weifang City Foreign Trade Motorcade--Ms. Sun Shuzhen, Ms. Wang Guiling, Ms. Wang Yinglan--were arrested and their homes ransacked.
17. [Dongying City, Shandong Province] More Information about the Arrest of Ms. Jiang Congmei
On June 21, 2009, Ms. Wang Ying, Ms. Liu Yufen, and Ms. Jiang Congmei of Gudao in the Hekou District in Dongying City, were arrested while they were distributing Falun Gong materials clearing up misconceptions about Falun Gong in Hekou. Their homes were ransacked. Three computers, two printers, two DVD burners, and two electric cars were confiscated. They are in the Hekou Detention Center.
18. [Cangshan, Shandong Province] Mr. Li Zengpo Sentenced to Forced Labor and Ms. Xiao Guimei Detained
On May 24, 2009, police arrested Linyi, Cangshan, practitioner Ms. Xiao Guimei. She was distributing material clarifying the facts about Falun Gong at the Cangshan Forestry Bureau family residences. Later, her husband, Mr. Li Zengpo, was also arrested. Mr. Li was held in a detention center for a month and then sentenced to one year at Wangcun Forced Labor Camp around June 25. Ms. Xiao Guimei is still detained.
Ms. Xiao was tortured in a forced labor camp in 2006 and has still not recovered. Mr. Li was detained and sentenced in October 2000 and June 2006. In June 2006, he was sentenced to a three-year term that was served in Taian Prison. He was released in June 2008.

19. [Jining City, Shandong Province] Ms. Tao Nai'e Arrested
At about 9 a.m. on June 30, 2009, Ms. Tao Nai'e, 54 years old, was arrested by the 610 Office for handing out materials clarifying the facts about Falun Gong. Her home was ransacked, and her computer, printer, and other property confiscated. She is now in the Jining Detention Center.
20. [Xuanhua, Hebei Province] Mr. Wan Minghai, Ms. Feng Yanli, and Ms. Liu Yongli Sentenced to Forced Labor
On the morning of May 14, 2009, Mr. Wan Minghai, Ms. Feng Yanli, and Ms. Yan Xiulian went to the home of Ms. Liu Yongli. Officers from the Dongsheng Police Station arrested them. They confiscated a computer, a USB flash drive, digital camera, and other items.
On May 25, Ms. Liu Yongli was sentenced to one and a half years of forced labor. Mr. Wan Minghai and Ms. Feng Yanli were each sentenced to one year of forced labor. Mr. Wan was taken to Shijiazhuang. Ms. Liu and Ms. Feng were taken to the No.4 Brigade of Shitong Road Women's Forced Labor Camp in Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province.
21. [Jing County, Hebei Province] Ms. Wang Junrong Interrogated
After 6 p.m. on July 2, 2009, Ms. Wang Junrong of Jing County was reported, when she was clearing up misconceptions about Falun Gong on Nanhuan Road. Two officers took her to the Jing County Public Security Bureau Domestic Security Division. After being interrogated for over two hours and having 500 yuan extorted from her, she was released. A family member picked her up at 9 p.m.
22. [Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province] Mr. Hong Chang Arrested
At the end of May 2009, officers from the Qingbomen Police Station in the Shangcheng District, Hangzhou City, arrested Mr. Hong Chang and ransacked his home. Mr. Hong is in the Detention Center of the Shangcheng District Public Security Sub-bureau, Xiangshan Village, Zhuantang Town, Hangzhou City.
23. [Chongqing City] Additional Information about Yuan Rong and Others
Ms. Lu Yalan and Ms. Liu Guiying from the Shapingba District in Chongqing City were held at the Baiheling Detention Center. They were taken to their workplace brainwashing center. Yuan Rong and Su Wei had serious illness symptoms, such as high blood pressure and racing heart beats many times. They were released by the Baiheling Detention Center. Yuan Rong and Zhao Ping became destitute to avoid further persecution.
24. [Xinmin City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Cao Yang Sentenced
Ms. Cao Yang of Xinmin City is a university student. Officers from the Tiexi area, of Shenyang City arrested her on May 1, 2001, for producing material clarifying the facts about Falun Gong and sentenced her to a seven-year prison term.
Ms. Cao was tortured in Huazi Prison in Liaoyang City. She should be released on July 10.
25. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Sui Qinggui and Ms. Liu Yun Arrested
On the morning of July 3, 2009, Mr. Sui Qinggui and Ms. Liu Yun from Gaomi in Weifang City were reported and arrested when they were distributing materials clearing up misconceptions about Falun Gong in Qitai Village, Jiangzhuang Town.
26. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] More Information about Mr. Sun Zhenlin
On February 12, 2009, Mr. Sun Zhenlin was arrested in Shihuiyao, Yantai. On February 22, he was taken back to Laizhou and placed in a detention center. He was released after one month.
27. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Shi Shugai and Mr. Jia Xuefeng Sentenced
On October 23, 2007, Ms. Shi Shugai and Mr. Jia Xuefeng from Shijiazhuang City were reported for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. They were near Guanlan Haoting Courtyard, at the intersection of Yuhua Road and Yuandong Street. They were arrested, their homes were ransacked, and they were sentenced to three-year prison terms in November 2008.
28. [Xiangfan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Lu Jianyong Arrested
In the afternoon on June 26, 2009, officers from Mansai arrested Mr. Lu Jianyoung of Xiangfan City. He was reported when talking to people about the persecution. His home was ransacked and valuable items including a disc burner were confiscated.
29. [Luoding City, Guangdong Province] Additional Information about Ms. Li Hongying
Ms. Li Hongying, a practitioner of Luojing Town, Luoding City ,went out to distribute material clarifying the facts about Falun Gong at around 8 a.m. on July 2. Three officers from the politics and law committee and a police station arrested her. She was placed in the Luoding City Detention Center.
30. [Ningxiang County, Hunan Province] Four Practitioners Arrested
On June 20, Ms. Fang Zhixiang, Ms. Fang Aiqun, Ms. Wang Xiulan, and Ms. Zou Lijuan from Ningxiang were talking to local people about the persecution. Officers from from the Dachengqiao Police Station arrested them. The women's homes were ransacked, and they were detained in the Ningxiang County Detention Center for 13 days and then taken to the Laodaohe Brainwashing Center in Changsha City.
