(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in nine cities or counties in two provinces. In this report, one practitioner was subjected to mistreatment during her detention, and at least 16 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Liaoning Province] Ms. Chen Li Illegally Arrested
Wang Hongkui, head of the local Domestic Security Division, and a group of officers arrested Ms. Chen Li from her workplace at noon on July 18, 2009. She is from the Bayuquan District, Liaoning Province. Wang Hongkui took the keys to her home. Five officials ransacked her home. They took money and private belongings worth about 10,000 yuan.
2. [Tieling City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Hong Yingzhou Arrested
Four officers from the Xifeng County Police Department broke into Mr. Hong Yingzhou's home in Yingchang Village, Yinghchang Township at 10:00 a.m. on July 17, 2009, in Mr. Hong's absence. They looted items from this private residence and took a television set, radio(s), VCDs, MP3 player(s), MP4 player(s), and other items worth more than 1,000 yuan.
The same group of officers arrested practitioner Ms. Li Chengqin from Huapigou Village that same day but released her after family petitioned for her release.
3. [Haicheng City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhang Meihua Arrested
Someone reported Ms. Zhang Meihua to the police on July 18, 2009, while she was in the Lianhuayuan Neighborhood District. Officers from the Dongguan Police Station arrested and held her at the police station for an afternoon and subsequently sent her to the Haicheng Detention Center.

4. [Lingyuan City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liu Cuihuan Arrested
Ms. Liu Cuihuan, who worked at the Lingyuan Oxygen Generator Factory, handed a quality inspector a Falun Gong flyer. The inspector reported her to the police on July 18, 2009. Officers from the factory's security section arrested her.
5. [Songyuan City, Jilin Province] Ms. He Ping Arrested
Ms. He Ping is around 45 years old and lived alone in the Ningjiang District, Songyuan City. The police arrested her from home the morning of July 18, 2009. She is now being held in Division 1 at the Ningjiang District Police Department. Her home is under police surveillance.

6. [Tonghua City, Jilin Province] Ms. Song Guixiang Held at the Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp in Changchun City
Police and security officers have arrested Ms. Song Guixiang from Tonghua City many times. Her home has been ransacked, and she was held in brainwashing centers, forced labor camps, and detention centers and placed under house arrest. She is now in the Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp in Changchun City for the second time.
7. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Five Practitioners Arrested
Officers from the Piaotun Police Station in Fushun City broke into practitioners' homes and arrested them at 8:00 a.m. on July 18, 2009. The arrested practitioners--Mr. Wang Fan, Mr. Bai Jingzhi, Mr. Du Lianfa, Ms. Che Guizhi, and Ms. Lu Caihua--are now being held at the Nangou Police Station.
8. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Practitioner Mr. Xu Arrested
Local security officials and officers from the Dalian City Police Department's Zhongshan Police Station arrested practitioner Xu. The arrest happened at his rented apartment in a newly built residential complex in Youjia Village, Xinzhaizi, Ganjingzi District, Dalian City, the morning of July 17, 2009. The police ransacked his home and confiscated Falun Gong books and a laptop computer he used for work. His current whereabouts are unknown.
9. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Bao Hongying and Her Family Arrested
610 Office agents arrested Ms. Bao Hongying; her husband, Wang Shiming; and their daughter, Wang Min, from their home near the Dalian City Airport on July 17, 2009.
10. [Liaoning Province] Ms. Sha Fengxian Arrested
The police arrested Ms. Sha Fengxian and ransacked her home at 3:00 p.m. on July 15, 2009. Ms. Sha is a teacher at Heishanke Township Middle School in Jianchang County, Huludao City. Eight officers from Leijiadian Police Station and officials from Jianchang County Domestic Security Division broke into her home later on the same day and ransacked it. They took one notebook computer, one printer, one paper cutter, Falun Gong books, Teacher Li Hongzhi's picture, one satellite dish, bank deposit slips, raw materials for producing flyers, and a television, among other things.
Ms. Sha is being held at Huludao Detention Center. Officers from Leijiadian Township Police Station arrested her husband, Ma Guiping, who does not practice Falun Gong at midnight on July 15, 2009. He is detained in Leijiadian Police Station.
