On September 25th, 2005, Falun Gong practitioners in France held large-scale activities to draw attention to the orphaned children of Falun Gong practitioners. The event, which received strong support from the public, was held on the Human Rights Square (Paris des Droits de l'Homme au Trocadero) opposite the world-famous Eiffel Tower.

Since Jiang Zemin's regime began persecuting Falun Gong in China in 1999, thousands of innocent Falun Gong practitioners have been persecuted to death or disability under systematic genocidal policies, such as "destroy their reputation, bankrupt them financially and annihilate them physically," that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has illegally and ferociously carried out. Many of those persecuted to death left behind young children with nobody to take care of them. Some of these Falun Gong children or young practitioners have lost both parents through the persecution. Others have one parent who has perished and the other incarcerated. With no source of income, having being expelled from school and without parents, these children wander homeless, living in loneliness and constant fear. Consequently, Falun Gong practitioners in France have been appealing for the rescue of the orphaned children of Falun Gong practitioners in mainland China.

With somber music playing in the background, banners in Chinese, English and French announcing "Falun Gong - Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance" and "Rescue the Orphans" danced in the wind in front of the Eiffel Tower. Photos of the orphans on display told one sad story after another. Hearts were touched by the strong contrast between the peaceful and gentle exercise demonstration and the brutal truth about the atrocious persecution.

Two giant pieces of white cloth on the ground were covered with signatures. Many knelt down to note their blessings. In Chinese, "Stop persecuting the children!" In French, "Stop the persecution in China!" "Courage to all!" Also in English, "Peace for everybody!" "May God bless you all." Despite the white cloth having been filled with signatures, more and more people tried to find a place to sign their names to express their support for kindness and righteousness.

Those who learned the truth were moved by Falun Gong practitioners' perseverance in opposing persecution. After learning the truth, a French couple gave the practitioner a thumbs up sign, "What you are doing is great! Continue!" A group of Chinese tourists viewing the exhibits happened to catch this scene. Surprised at the level of support from westerners, they had an even stronger desire to learn more about Falun Gong.

A tourist said, "There is not a shadow of freedom in a country under the CCP's totalitarian rule. I believe Falun Gong provides such freedom. I will sign to support Falun Gong!"

A French writer, who was very concerned about children being harmed, was deeply moved after learning the truth about the persecution. Seeing Falun Gong practitioners clarifying the truth and fighting against torture under such severe persecution, reflecting upon her own misfortunes, she said emotionally, "Thank you! You gave me the courage to live!"

The weather was glorious on September 25, 2005. In Nuremberg, Germany, generally regarded as "Human Rights City," we conducted a Falun Gong Information day. Perhaps because it was Sunday, the pedestrians were fewer than usual on the streets. However, we had more time and opportunity to explain to interested people in detail exactly what Falun Gong is and why Falun Gong practitioners are persecuted in Mainland China.

After earnestly looking through the pictures exposing the CCP's persecution of practitioners, a young Iraqi man said that he knew about it very well and understood very much what practitioners in China had suffered because he was persecuted in Iraq as well. When he heard that in China's jails, many innocent Falun Gong practitioners suffered torture more brutal than the pictures displayed, and that over two thousand practitioners had been tortured to death, he angrily said, "The Communist Party of China is exactly the same as Saddam's former regime."

Milaca, a woman from Chechen approached the information desk with her mother and said that she was interested in Chinese history and culture, especially Qigong and Taichi. She already knew that Falun Gong is one of the Buddha School practice, and asked for the differences between Falun Gong, Qigong and Taichi to be explained to her. She was really excited when it was explained in depth and given a lot of related information. She said she would read all the leaflets and study the websites which were recommended by practitioners so that she could know more about Falun Gong.

After reading the information, a German mother with her child enquired about the details of the location and times of the classes. They would like to start learning.

When the Falun Gong practitioners started performing the fifth set of exercises, the peaceful scene attracted many pedestrians to come and watch. After a German lady learned more details about Falun Gong, she sat opposite to a western practitioner on her own initiative and started learning the fifth exercise carefully. There were lots of pedestrians taking leaflets and reading them earnestly. After reading about the persecution, a lot of people returned to find out more. They also signed the petitions appealing to China to end the persecution.

Dresden is the capital of Sachsen in Germany. On September 17 and 18, 2005, an autumn festival was held in a shopping center in the Prohlis district of the city. Falun Gong practitioners were invited to participate in the activity, which coincided with the Chinese Moon Festival.

The Falun Gong booth was arranged in the busiest part of the shopping center with big supermarkets and stores on either side. The host had found us some exhibition boards so that our color posters could be hung in an eye-catching location.

During these two days, practitioners introduced Falun Gong and told people about the cruel persecution against the practice in Mainland China. Some practitioners demonstrated the Falun Gong exercises to the peaceful exercise music and others distributed leaflets to passers-by. On the big poster exhibition boards were pictures and descriptions of the Falun Gong exercises, as well as photo illustrations of torture methods used in China against practitioners. On the information desks, practitioners displayed hand-made paper lotus flowers and truth-clarifying materials of all kinds.

Many people stopped to find out more. Some took pictures of the demonstration of the five sets of Falun Gong exercises using mobile phones and cameras; others earnestly read the exhibition boards exposing the persecution. When they found out that those who practice such peaceful exercises are being cruelly persecuted in China, a lot of people were shocked. They exchanged their opinions with practitioners, asked for leaflets and signed a petition calling for the release of Jiang Renzheng, a Falun Gong practitioner who used to live in Germany but who was deported and has been put into a forced labor camp by the Chinese Communist Party. With great interest, some stood in a line to obtain greeting cards with the words, "The World Needs Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance" written on them by a practitioner.

Within these two days, many kind-hearted German people learned about how the Chinese Communist Party brutally persecutes Falun Gong practitioners. Some expressed their will to help those persecuted in China, some asked for petition forms and leaflets so that they could share the information with their families and friends. And still many more people wanted to learn Falun Gong. Practitioners happily invited them to the local exercise practice site.
