On September 9, 2005, policeman Han Xinlei of Xi'an City Police Department in Shaanxi Province was murdered because he openly declared that he was withdrawing from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) by written declaration. Mr. Han Xinlei's parents and grandparents are all living under terror of CCP right now. Mr. Han's family members are all working in the Police Department, but CCP is not letting them live in peace.

Mr. Han Xinlei was in his 30s. In June 2005, he was shocked after reading the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party. He was very angry at the CCP's evil deeds, and he felt his will to "punish the evil, safeguarding the kind" was deceived by the evil Party's scoundrel means. When he thoroughly saw the evil CCP's "Fake, Evil, and Violent" nature, Mr. Han Xinlei openly wrote a declaration to withdraw from CCP, then returned his service gun, and decided to quit his job as a policeman.

Ever since Mr. Han declared his withdrawal from CCP, lawless CCP officials started closely monitoring him, planning to kill him. One day at the end of August 2005, when Mr. Han walked out of his home, a man suddenly ran up from behind and hit the back side of his head hard with a heavy object (either a metal club or a rock). Mr. Han passed out instantly, laid on the ground with severe injuries.

After his family took him to the hospital, the evil Party still would not leave them alone, but sent plain clothes agents to watch them closely. At one point a nurse found that someone had removed his oxygen tube, and told his parents. Mr. Han's parents knew someone was trying to kill him, and decided to watch him themselves day and night. They requested that the Xi'an City Police quickly find the killers, and bring them to justice.

The Xi'an City Police Department Administration said it was not necessary to file a case, since everything would be clear when Mr. Han woke up. Mr. Han's parents were exhausted after several days of waiting at his bedside. Unfortunately, the evil culminated their crime when both his parents fell asleep. When his parents and doctors found out, it was too late, and the rescue effort failed. Mr. Han Xinlei died on September 9, 2005.

Mr. Han Xinlei's parents requested that the Xi'an City Police Department quickly find the murderer, but the department said that since he had already died, it was not necessary to further investigate. They are covering for the killers.

In Beijing alone, at least eighty Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mass arrest and interrogation in the days leading up to the October 1 National Day. Many practitioners' colleagues, family members, and relatives were also interrogated and harassed for no justifiable reasons.

The mass arrest had the following characteristics:

1. The emphasis was on several locations - the Haidian District where many universities are located, truth-clarification material preparation sites, and on suspected key practitioners who had been under police watch over a long time. For example, in the Haidian District alone, in just one night, on September 28, twenty-eight practitioners were arrested.

2. The various districts of the city and even other cities and regions acted in a coordinated fashion. They had made careful, long-term preparations. Many of the arrested practitioners had been followed for several months and even longer. Regarding those targeted practitioners, the authorities had monitored their cell phone usage for a long time. They frequently made use of cell-phone tracking and locating techniques. Falun Gong practitioners Bei Shaohua, Liu Haihong and others were arrested this way.

3. Businesses started by practitioners were targeted for confiscation. Some of the companies were ransacked even before they were in business. Falun Gong practitioner Liu Yujian, who was teaching an MBA training class at the University of Science and Technology Beijing was considered a principal arrest target by the Beijing City Police Department, because he was the designated legal person of the Beijing New Epoch Cultural Development Company Ltd. His company office was broken into and his computer and office documents were confiscated. Bai Shaohua, an employee of the company, also became a principal arrest target. Bai was followed many times.

4. During this round of persecution, authorities were both frenzied and diffident. To "illegally arrest" Liu Yujian, they went to his wife's employer. His wife is not a Falun Gong practitioner. They threatened and forced her to lead the police to ransack her home and abduct Liu Yujian when he returned home. After she betrayed her husband under threats, Liu's wife was in deep sorrow, blaming herself.

After arresting Falun Gong practitioner Bai Shaohua's wife, Ji Lei, general manager of Beijing's Langwei Video Science and Technology Co. Ltd., the authorities carried out a large-scale search at Ji Lei's company. At least five computers were removed from the business and sent to the city police department for "examination." The company's safety cabinet was pried open. All the employees (more than thirty of them) were searched and taken to the Haidian District Wanshousi Police Station. Ceng Hui, an employee of the company, is still detained because the police found Falun Gong truth-clarifying materials in her bag.

The mass arrest of practitioners prior to October 1 was obviously a political plot. It was done to create an atmosphere of terror among Falun Gong practitioners and to hinder dissemination of the "Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party." The authorities were trying to use the Falun Gong issue to bolster the current Chinese government of Hu Jintao and Wen Jiabao, right before the Fourth Plenary Meeting of the 16^th National Congress of the Chinese Communist Party.

The Shanghai National Security police began making large-scale, coordinated arrests of local Falun Gong practitioners on the evening of October 9. That evening, Falun Gong practitioner Lin Mingli was arrested in his residential district. His older brother Lin Shenli of Canada is appealing for his rescue.

Falun Gong practitioner Lin Shenli, who now lives in Canada, was illegally detained in a forced labor camp in China for three years because he practiced Falun Gong. He arrived in Canada in 2003 with the help of a rescue organization and the Canadian government. His younger brother Lin Mingli had also been illegally detained in a forced labor camp for two years starting in April 2001. Because he conducted a hunger strike in protest of the persecution, he was repeatedly force fed, and his esophagus was ruptured. Lin Mingli was released in April 2003 with the help of overseas Falun Gong practitioners and the Canadian government.

Below are the details of the arrest of Lin Mingli, as described by his elder brother Lin Shenli:

At about 10 o'clock on the night of October 9, the electric power to my brother Mingli's home was suddenly cut, though at that time his neighbors' houses still had electricity. Acting on an impulse, Mingli and my sister-in-law went out for a walk. At around 11 o'clock, on their way back home, four policemen suddenly blocked their path. My brother and his wife were arrested, and then the four officers went into Mingli's home, ransacking it until about 2:30 in the morning. After that, the police took my sister-in-law to the local police station at Aomen Road, Putuo District.

The National Security police continuously interrogated my sister-in-law for many hours, and detained her until the next morning. My sister-in-law ran into the hall, strongly protesting the illegal arrest. At that time, my brother had just been escorted to the hall. My sister-in-law told him that the National Security police had illegally arrested her and wouldn't let her go home.

My brother told the police, "If you don't release her, I will die in here!"

Then he hit his head on the concrete floor. Blood immediately covered his head and face. [Note: The teachings of Falun Gong forbid killing, including committing suicide and self-injury. Although in some cases such methods can have some effect against the persecution, they can easily endanger lives. As Falun Gong practitioners, we ought to clearly remember at every moment that we are practitioners. We must treasure our lives and avoid thinking and behaving in an extreme and irrational manner.] The police were shocked, and they released Mingli's wife. By that time it was already ten o'clock in the morning.

On the morning of October 11, the police sent my brother's detention ticket to my sister-in-law. The ticket confirmed that he was charged with the "crime" of making Falun Gong informational materials. Mingli is now detained in the Putuo District Detention Center. The injuries to his head and face are severe.

Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Wang Guoli lives in Qidaowanzo Village, Saliba Township, Aohan Flag (Prefecture), Inner-Mongolia Autonomous Region. After being tortured for three and a half years in a forced labor camp, he is now locked in a brainwashing center at the Hedong Nursing School in the Aihan Flag. His daughter had to quit school in 2002 when she was only 14 years old.

In March 2002, Mr. Wang Guoli was arrested by Aohan Flag State Security Agent Gong Chuanxing (male) and others. He was sentenced to three years of forced labor and tortured in the Wuyuan County Forced Labor Camp located in Ba Flag. He originally should have been released on March 20, 2005, but because he refused to accept the brainwashing, his term was extended six more months. His family strongly requested his release and appealed to Gong Chuanxing many times. He was released on September 1, 2005. Shockingly, he has not yet been allowed to go home but remains confined in the brainwashing center.

Over the past three and a half years, Mr. Wang has been tortured numerous times, and his body bears the scars. Due to his illegal detention, his daughter had to give up schooling in 2002 despite the fact that her grades were excellent. Their family's rice field had to be used by other people, which has resulted in significant financial losses over the years.

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Ding Shumei from Zhangjiakou City is an elementary teacher in Gaoyang County. On August 10, 2005, she was illegally arrested and taken to the Baoding City Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp. Ms. Ding started a hunger strike to protest the persecution, and was sent to a hospital to be force-fed. Ms. Ding refused to cooperate with those who persecuted her. She was tortured by prisoners Yang Yirong and Tong Yanling, with the help of guards Shi Jiangxia and Fan Miaolu. Prisoner Yang Yirong brutally beat her, and used various torture methods to persecute her. This prisoner is very active in torturing practitioners held in the First Woman's Team and the Second Woman's Team of Baoding City Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp.

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Yang Guilan is from Zhangjiakou City. Ms. Yang was brutally beaten after Teacher's articles were found at her home. Police officer Fan Miaolu shaved Ms. Yang's head to humiliate her, and also used various methods to torture her. Ms. Yang incurred wounds all over her body from the torture. In August, Ms. Yang suddenly fainted and was sent to a hospital emergency room. Ms. Yang suffers from anemia and she had only one third of the normal amount of blood in her system. Even on the verge of death, Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp still refused to release her and has threatened her family and asked for money.

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wang Shufang was arrested and taken to Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp on February 5, 2005. Ms. Wang conducted a hunger strike to protest the illegal detention. The police beat her so badly that blood appeared in her urine. In fact, her entire body was injured, leaving her on the verge of death. Fearing that she might die at the labor camp, the camp let her company use an ambulance to take her away.

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Liu Yuanzhen comes from Zaoqiang County, Hengshui Area. She was beaten badly by the police because she practiced the Falun Gong exercises. In August 2005 she was brutally beaten because she refused to wear a prison uniform. Female guards Tian Zili, Fan Miaolu, and others stripped her naked, and took her quilts away. One week later the guards instigated Yan Yirong (a prisoner) to drag her on the ground and brutally beat her. At one point, a guard said, "She is nearly dead. Do not continue to beat her." But Yan Yirong did not listen, and continued to kick her very hard with leather shoes. In September Liu Yuanzhen could not walk, nor could she take care of herself, but the Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp still did not give her clothing or blankets.

On February 5, 2005, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Liu Haitao was badly beaten by the police because she practiced the Falun Gong exercises. Two of her teeth were knocked out, and she was injured all over her body. A group of guards used electric batons to beat and shock her, using the batons so extensively that several electric batons were broken during the beatings. Guard Chang Junliang said, "Liu Haitao, I am telling you: this pair of leather shoes was brought to kick your Falun Gong." Eleven guards participated in the beatings, including Fang Bao, Zhang Jiwei, team leaders of the Second Woman Team, Shi Jiangxia and Li Yanji, Tian Zili and Fan Miaolu.

Practitioner Mr. Li Qingsong from Qian'an City, Tangshan Prefecture, Hebei Province, has been locked in a small cell in the Hehuakeng Forced Labor Camp, located in Tangshan City, for a long time. Firmly maintaining his faith in Falun Gong, he went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. His family has been denied visiting privileges for months, and they are very worried about his life.

Mr. Li Qingsong, 35, has been arrested and taken to detention centers or brainwashing centers many times. At the end of August 2004, Mr. Li was arrested again, and subsequently sentenced to one year of forced labor. As he is blind in one eye and unable to see things clearly out of the other, his family made an adamant request for his release. He was released on medical parole. But only two months later, he was taken back to the forced labor camp with the excuse that police had found him creating VCDs and passing out truth clarifying materials.

His term ended in August, but the labor camp authorities claimed that he needed to make up those two months of medical parole.

Mr. Li has never signed his name on a repentance statement. We have heard that he was on a hunger strike around July 20, 2005, together with eight other practitioners, to protest the persecution. He has been locked in a small cell for a long time and denied visits from his family for the past five months. His family is extremely worried about his life.

Ms. Wei Aiqin, 58, lived on Zhanlidong Street in Zibo City, Shandong Province. She started cultivating in 1997. In December 2001, she was illegally sentenced to a forced labor camp for one and a half years. She was persecuted in the Wangcun Forced Labor Camp. Later, she was released on bail for medical treatment after being seriously tortured. She died one year after returning home in May 2004.

Ms. Lian Qiaolian, 50, was a practitioner from Lianzhuang Village, Danian Town, Juancheng County, Shandong Province. After she learned Falun Gong in 1995, her body became healthy and her family became harmonious. In 2000, she suffered persecution. She was illegally imprisoned and her home was seized many times. Due to threats and pressure from the police, her old disease recurred and she died on September 10, 2005.

Ms. Yu Shuzhen, 59, was a farmer from Huaijia Town, Yushu City, Jilin Province. She started to practice Falun Gong in October 1997, and she became healthy. After the persecution of Falun Gong began, she tried to go to her provincial government to clarify the truth with other local practitioners, but she was cut off halfway there by Yushu City police and sent back home. Because of her fear, she gave up cultivation for a while. Due to long-term constraints and fear, disease appeared in her body, and Ms. Yu died of liver cirrhosis on July 31, 2004.

Ms. Yan Guoping was around 45 years old. She was a librarian at Hebei Jingmao University and lived in a dormitory at the Province Electric Power Department on Shijiazhuang Donggang Road Electrical Industry Plot. In May 2002 people from her work place and the police from the local police station "arrested" her and sent her to the notorious Hebei Province Legal System Education Center to be brainwashed. Under pressure, she stopped cultivating Falun Gong and developed kidney cancer, which quickly spread. Even though she had given in to the brainwashing, people from the local police station and residents' committee still illegally came to her home to harass and exert pressure on her while she was undergoing treatment. Ms. Yan Guoping died in the autumn of 2002.

Ms. Lu Yuye, 64, was a retired teacher from Hecheng Town, Heshan City. For many years, Lu suffered from many physical ailments, such as nasal cancer and spinal cord problems. Even after treatment, her health deteriorated rapidly and she was told that her days were numbered. However, a miracle happened to her after she took up Falun Gong practice in 1998. She became healthier every day. Members of her family were happy to see the dramatic change.

However, in 1999 when the Chinese government officially launched the suppression of everyone who practiced Falun Gong, she was constantly harassed and threatened by officers from the 610 Office. On May 4, 2001, her son was arrested for distributing Falun Gong truth clarification materials, and was later sentenced to eighteen months of forced labor, with no legal proceedings. As a result, Lu became very sick and passed away on December 30, 2001.

Ms Sun Shuying, 80, lived in Dandong City, Liaoning Province. After starting to practice Falun Gong in 1998, she found that all of her ailments miraculously disappeared. At eighty, she was considered very fit for her age. She could carry out household chores, as well as prepare meals for her daughter for several years. Also, her dedication to Falun Gong practice was commendable. Regardless of the weather, she was at the site every morning doing the exercises. After July 20, 1999, when the government officially outlawed Falun Gong, she was unable to practice regularly. Together with twenty others, she was arrested for practicing Falun Gong. Fearing that she would not be able to stand up to interrogation, her family bailed her out, but she was still constantly harassed afterwards. Finally, on May 12, 2005 she died as a result of depression and stress.

Mr. Zheng Panshi, 68, lived in the Zhulin Area, Dadong District, Shenyang City, Liaoning Province. He worked in the Shenyang Zhongjie Youyi Factory, and before retiring he was a senior cadre. Zheng started learning Falun Gong in the summer of 1997, and his health benefited tremendously. However, after July 20, 1999, when the persecution of Falun Gong started, Zheng was arrested many times for questioning by the party secretary of his work unit, as well as by the local police. He was also forced to renounce his practice of Falun Gong. Long periods of harassment and persecution triggered health problems, and he died on February 4, 2005.

Mr. Gong Jinyin, 58, lived in Qianfo Town, Jingyan County, Sichuan Province. In January 2001, Gong went to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Gong. As a result, he was arrested and sentenced to two and a half years of forced labor without proper legal trials. On February 2, 2001, the local police took Gong Jinyin to the Xinhua Forced Labor Camp in Mianyang, where he was brutally beaten. A prisoner named Ruan Hong was directed to carry out the torture. This man repeatedly stabbed Gong's thigh with sharpened bamboo sticks, causing permanent damage to his leg. Despite the fact that these actions are illegal, the camp officer on duty simply turned a blind eye to the whole affair. In June 2002, Gong was released to go home, but he died on February 8, 2003 of poor health induced by torture he suffered while in detention.

Based on the latest news, Mr. Cao Jingdong and Li Rongguo, Falun Gong practitioners in Daqing City, were sentenced to 3 and 1.5 years in prison respectively. They are now detained at the No. 2 Division in the Daqing Forced Labor Camp. The torture has left Mr. Cao in critical condition.

Mr. Cao Jingdong is a resident of Chengfengzhuang, Daqing City. On September 3, 2005, he returned to his workplace, the Security Section of the Installation Company of the Daqing Petroleum Administration Bureau, to speak to Zhu Zunren because his salary was being withheld. Zhu Zunren lied to him and said the money would be ready for him the next Monday. However, on Monday, September 5, 2005, when he went to get his pay, Zhu Zunren not only refused to pay him, but he detained him, called the police and had him arrested. Mr. Cao was sent to the Zhaoyuan County Detention Center. He has been on a hunger strike since then, protesting the persecution. They force-fed him as a means of torture. A few days ago the Zhaoyuan County Police Department transferred him to the Daqing Forced Labor Camp.

In 2000, Mr. Cao was detained for fifteen days because he went to Beijing to appeal for the right to practice Falun Gong. When he returned to his workplace, Zhu Zunren had him arrested, and he was held in the Daqing Forced Labor Camp for two years.

On September 20, 2005, police from the Huangtailu Police Station in the north district of Qingdao City arrested Falun Gong practitioners Su Guihua, Cui Weirui and Ms. Lin at their home. It was confirmed that officers from the Hailunlu Police Station in the Sifang district arrested Zhang Hongru, and Tang Yufeng. Ou Mingjie, and Ms. Liu Zhirong (she is Ou Mingjie's mother), were also arrested. Their homes were ransacked as well.

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Li Yanfei was beaten so severely that she needs help going up and down stairs. Her teeth were knocked out, and the police ordered prisoners to put tissues in her mouth and tape it shut. She was also force-fed excrement and locked up in a small cell. She has been handcuffed to a bed, a window and a basketball stand. Sometimes she is in handcuffs all night.

The police have stripped Ms. Zhang Ziqin naked and handcuffed her to a basketball stand for a entire night.

4. [Chongqing City] Tan Zuqiong Arrested While Clarifying the Truth

On September 14, 2005, the Kai County Police Department of Chongqing City, along with the State Security Bureau, the 610 Office and the Zhongxin Township Neighborhood Committee broke into the homes of Falun Gong practitioners in Zhongxin Township, including those of Tan Zuqiong, Liu Deying, Li Qifeng and others. The police ransacked their homes and confiscated their Falun Gong books and materials. The police also took about 600 to 700 yuan in cash and a bank savings account of over 30,000 yuan from Liu Deying's home. They arrested Tan Zuqiong. Liu Deying and Li Fengqi were forced to become homeless and move from place to place to avoid recapture and further persecution.

The reason for the arrests was that Gao Liangbin of the Zhongxin Township Neighborhood Committee, and Yang Daojin, a driver, reported to the 610 Office and State Security Bureau that those Falun Gong practitioners had been clarifying the truth. The county police, officers from the State Security and the 610 Office went to Zhongxin Township. After three days of secret investigation, they arrested the practitioners.

5. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Sun Yunzhen Sentenced to a 21-Month Prison Term

On August 22, 2005, the police arrested Ms. Sun Yunzhen, a Falun Gong practitioner. Since then she has been on hunger strike to protest the persecution. On September 12, Zhang Xumin sent Ms. Sun to the hospital for a check up. Her family members asked to see her once they heard about this. Their request was refused. Ms. Sun has been sentenced to a 21-month prison term for "security reasons." She is still on a hunger strike.

6. [Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province] Zhou Meilin, and Lv Pingyi Detained

Zhou Meilin and Lv Pingyi, Falun Gong practitioners in Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province, were detained at the Gutangyou Detention Center of Huizhou City, Guangdong Province. Their child studying in junior high school is left at home alone with no one to care for her. Their parents are elderly, and in poor health. Recently their relatives called the detention center, but the detention center refused their inquiries. Their current situations are unknown.

7. [Sichuan Province] Yangmahe Prison Refuses to Allow Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Xiong Yuhua's Family Members to Visit Her

The Chenghua District Court in Chengdu City sentenced Ms. Xiong Yuhua, a Falun Gong practitioner from Chengdu City, to three and a half years in prison. Recently she was transferred to the Yangmahe Prison in Jianyang City. Her family members went to visit her, but the prison guards refused to let them see her. The guards stated, "She is stubborn and does not "reform"." When her family members went to visit another time, the prison guards refused their visit again saying, "This is your workplace's matter, your local government's matter."

8. [Yakeshi City, Inner Mongolia] Ms. Hou Yanqiu Arrested While Distributing Truth-Clarification Materials

On the afternoon of September 4, 2005, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Hou Yanqiu from Yakeshi City, Inner Mongolia was distributing truth-clarification material. The National Security Team, including Chief Yu Wenju, Instructor Chang Qing, and Deputy Chief Niu Liwei arrested her. She is being held in a detention center.

9. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Yan Hongwei Transferred to the Luotaishanzhuang Brainwashing Center in Fushun City

Around September 21, 2005, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Yan Hongwei from Shenyang City was arrested by his workplace and was transferred to the Luotaishanzhuang Brainwashing Center in Fushun City.

10. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Zhao Chunrong Arrested and Taken to a Brainwashing Center

Around September 11, 2005, the Yudong Police Station and the Yuhua Public Security Sub-bureau arrested Mr. Zhao Chunrong, who is around 45 years old and a maintenance worker from the Repair Section Electrical Class at the Hebei Radio Station. They also ransacked his home. He is currently being held in a brainwashing center.

1. [Beijing] Seven Practitioners Arrested

Yan Jiguo is a practitioner from Yilan County of Heilongjiang Province. At about 5:00 p.m. on September 28, 2005, members of the State Security Department of Haidian District broke into the home of one of Yan's relatives, and arrested Yan and two other practitioners from Beijing, Mr. Bai Shaohua and Chang Yu (alias). Mr. Bai, 34, graduated from the People's University of China, majoring in economics. His brother, Mr. Bai Xiaojun, a lecturer of Northeast Normal University, was persecuted to death. Zhang Yu is a project manager at a Beijing Housing and Servicing company. This neighborhood is under the control of the Security Bureau of Malianwa. The three arrested practitioners were transferred to the Qinghe Detention Center of Haidian.

Mr. Bai Shaohua's wife Mrs. Ji Lei is the general manager of the Beijing Langwei Vision and Information Technology Company. On the evening of September 28, 2005, the police followed Mrs. Ji to her home and arrested her and other practitioners, including her mother-in-law and her four-year-old daughter. Mrs. Wan Yu, who is in her 30s, is the widow of practitioner Mr. Li Jingsheng. Mr. Li was persecuted in the Tuanhe Forced Labor Camp of Beijing and had bruises all over his body. He died a year after he was released. Due to the hardships she suffered, Mrs. Wan temporarily stayed with Ji Lei. The police officers arrested Mrs. Wan Yu, Mrs. Ji Lei and another visiting practitioner, Ms. Huang, who is in her thirties. They were all sent to the Wanshousi Security Bureau of Haidian. Mrs. Ji's mother-in-law and her daughter were released the same night. Mrs. Ji, Mrs. Wan and Ms. Huang were transferred to the Qinghe Detention Center of Haidian. They also confiscated some of Ji's valuables, including a computer. The confiscated items were valued at more than 20,000 yuan.

2. [Xiangtan, Hunan Province] Xiao Zhixiang and Lin Jia Both Sentenced to Three Years in Prison

Xiao Zhixiang and Lin Jia were both sentenced to three years of imprisonment. They are being secretly transferred to a prison in Changdejin City, and no family members are allowed to visit them.

3. [Guangzhou, Guangdong Province] Ms. Fan Haiqin and Her Brother Mr. Fan Wei Sent to Brainwashing Center

On the night of September 12, 2005, after fifteen days of detention, practitioners Ms. Fan Haiqin and her brother were detained by the Guangzhou police. They were arrested again and sent to a brainwashing center located in Chatou County.

4. [Daqing, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Liu Shujie and Her Daughter Arrested in Hangzhou

In mid-June 2005, Ms. Liu Shujie, a practitioner from Heilongjiang Province, went to Hangzhou to visit her family. The next day she and her daughter were seen clarifying the truth and were followed by the police, who tried to find out the location of the material production center of the Hangzhou area. Fortunately, Ms. Liu Shujie did not know any practitioners in Hangzhou.

On July 28, Ms. Liu and her daughter Huang Yu were arrested at the railway station while they purchased their return tickets. They are being held in the Hangzhou Detention Center.

5. [Xiantao, Hubei Province] Ms. Wang Dongmei Arrested and Sent to Magang Brainwashing Center

On September 28, 2005, Ms. Wang Dongmei, a practitioner from Xiantao, Hubei, was arrested by members from the local 610 Office and sent to the Magang Brainwashing Center. Ms. Wang was illegally detained four times, and was released from Shayang Labour Camp about a year ago.

6. [Shenyang, Liaoning Province] Mr. Li Wenran Arrested When Clarifying the Truth at a Park

Mr. Lin Wenran, a retiree from the Air Pressure Instrument Factory of Shenyang, was arrested by the Shashan Police Bureau of Heping District when he was clarifying the truth at Yangchun Park of Heping District at about 5:00 p.m. on September 30, 2005. The police then searched his house.

7. [Binxian, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zheng Yan Arrested

On the afternoon of September 29, 2005, Ms. Zheng Yan, a practitioner from Binxian of Heilongjiang province, was arrested by the Fendou Police Station of Binxian, Binzhou. She is being held in the Second Detention Center of Binxian.

8. [Panjin, Liaoning Province] Wang Yuying Arrested

On September 21 ,2005, Wang Yuying, a practitioner from Dongfeng Town, Dawa County of Panjin, Liaoning Province was arrested by Fu Zhenguo and other people from the State Security Squad of Dawua County.

9. [Liuan, Anhui Province] Mr. Li Zucheng Arrested Three Times

Mr. Li Zucheng, who is in his 40s, is from the Sungang area, Yeji Experimental District of Liuan City, Anhui Province. Because he insisted on being a good person by cultivating Falun Gong under the principle of "Truthfulness, Benevolence, Forbearance," he was arrested three times by the police.

In July 2001 Mr. Li was arrested and detained for 15 days when he clarified the truth. In December 2003, without any reason the police ransacked his home and detained him for another fifteen days. On September 9, 2005, Mr. Li came home from work to harvest his crops and was arrested by the police, who ransacked his home again. Mr. Li is now being held at the detention center of Huoqiu County.

10. [Chongqing, Sichuan Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

At around noon on September 24, 2005, practitioner Mr. Liu Yalin and his daughter Ms. Liu Chunmei were arrested by Dadukou police and Chongqing state security guards and sent to the Dadukou Drug Rehabilitation Center to be persecuted. The police also confiscated many of their valuables.

At around noon on September 24, 2005, Ms. Guo Xizhen, another practitioner from Xiezixi of Dadukou, was arrested by Dadukou Police and Chongqing State Security guards and sent to the Dadukou Brainwashing Center. Many of her personal belongings were confiscated.

11. [Juancheng County, Shandong Province] Ms. Dou Suli Arrested and Her House Ransacked

On September 26, 2005, Bian Bangjun, Head of the Police Station Administrative Division of Juancheng County, and Chen Baodong, director of the State Security Squad, led more than a dozen police officers to break into the home of practitioner Ms. Dou Suli. They searched her house but didn't find any materials. Nevertheless, they arrested Ms. Dou and held her in a detention center.

12. [Tianjin] Ms. Jiang Lili Arrested

On September 25, 2005, about two dozen police officers broke into the home of practitioner Ms. Jiang Lili, and the materials production center at Heping district was destroyed. They arrested Ms. Jiang and confiscated all the equipment and paper, valued at over 10,000 yuan in total.

On September 19, 2005, Li Xiuqing from Chengjianxin Village was deceived into opening her door by the 610 Office police officers, who then illegally arrested her at her home. She was taken to the Langfang brainwashing class to be persecuted, and she still has not returned.

In February 2000, Song Kaiju went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. He was illegally imprisoned and suffered brutal persecution. By the time he was released, both of his legs were badly swollen. At the beginning of this April, Song Kaiju was arrested again while distributing truth-clarifying materials in Beijing. He was sentenced to two years of forced labor. Currently he is imprisoned in Tangshan Forced Labor Camp in Hebei Province.

1. [Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province] Practitioners Persecuted at the Majialong Forced Labor Camp

In October 2002, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Jiang Xiaoying was imprisoned at the Majialong Forced Labor Camp. Although her sentence officially ended in June 2005, she has yet to be released. In total, she has served more than three extra years on top of her original sentence. During this time, she has been beaten over 400 times, force-fed with drugs that cause mental disorientation, been deprived of sleep, and was gagged with socks. Another practitioner, Ms. Meiling, had six teeth knocked out at the Majialong Forced Labor Camp.

2. [Shanghai City] Ms. Lu Xiuli Is Arrested for the Third Time

Ms. Lu Xiuli, a practitioner from Zichang Community, Putuo District, Shanghai, was turned in and arrested on September 10, 2005. This was the third time that Ms. Lu was arrested, and her current status is unknown.
