Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wang Yunjie's breasts were disfigured and infected as a result of long-term torture, which included being tied up, hung up and shocked with electric batons. It was difficult to look at her and see her suffering.

The following links lead to photos of Ms. Wang Yunjie, taken after having suffered from the aforementioned tortures. It is recommended that children and those with delicate sensitivities refrain from viewing these photos.

Around 3:00 p.m. on May 14, 2002, two policemen and two security officers from the Paoyazi police station of Dalian, Liaoning Province arrested Ms. Wang Yunjie at work, without any legal warrant or cause. They took her to the Paoyazi police station.

Ms. Wang Yunjie was kept in a room and monitored by four guards until midnight, at which time she was transferred to the Public Security Bureau's Branch in Ganjingzi Precinct. She was not given any food or water.

At the Ganjingzi precinct, the police locked Ms. Wang and a dozen other Falun Gong practitioners into a small iron plate hut of several square meters in circumference.

The next morning, Ms. Wang was transferred again to Yaojia Forced Labor Camp, where she

was illegally detained for 20 days. Without any legal recourse, cause, or documentation, Ms. Wang was taken to the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp on June 4, 2002. At that time the police from Ganjingzi informed Ms. Wang Yunjie that she had been given a two-year sentence to be served at Masanjia Forced Labor Camp. They pressured her to sign the detention notice documents, but Ms. Wang refused.

Below is a truthful account of the persecution Ms. Wang Yunjie suffered at Masanjia.

After Ms. Wang had arrived at Masanjia on June 4, she was taken to Group 1. The leader Wang Xiaofeng and guard Shi Yu were assigned to guard Ms. Wang. At first, Ms. Wang was isolated in an empty room on the second floor of Building 2 in the women's section. There was no bed or anything else. She was not allowed to wash herself, brush her teeth or go to the restroom. She was only allowed to use the toilet with permission from the guards. They had to stay with her at all times. It was past midnight when she finally was allowed to sleep--on the cold concrete floor. They woke her up at 5:30 a.m. daily. Then they took her to the backyard where they dried the laundry and forced her to stay in the hot summer sun. If she did not cooperate, she would be taken to the bathroom, toilet, warehouse or basement, and cruelly tortured. They tried to force her to give up her belief in Falun Gong through inhuman methods. All this was done secretly in isolation.

During the day, more than four collaborators would be involved in the torture of Falun Gong practitioners. They interrogated Ms. Wang Yunjie and tried to force her to give up practicing Falun Gong. They made her squat, remain in a kneeling position or stand still for a very long time. Once, four of the collaborators asked, "Will you give up practicing Falun Gong?" Ms. Wang replied, "Never!" They told guard Shi Yu, 20, who said, "Her brain must be made of granite. That's why she refuses to reform." Shi Yu grabbed Ms. Wang's hair and shouted, "A large number of people have renounced Falun Gong. You think you are better! Granite brain!" Then she kicked Ms. Wang until she fell to the ground.

Between June 5 and mid-November of 2002, Ms. Wang Yunjie was forced to stand in the sun for close to 20 days. She was locked into a dark and damp lavatory for over a month and then locked in the bathroom. After that she was locked in a warehouse and the basement for nearly four months. She was locked into the lavatory from 4:30 a.m. to midnight and forced to stand still and/or squat during the entire time. Only during mealtimes was she allowed to sit on the floor. Even during mealtimes, she was kept in the lavatory, despite the guards using the toilet. She was subjected to the same tortures in the bathroom, the warehouse and the basement. As time went on, the physical punishment became increasingly more brutal.

Six months later, Ms. Wang was transferred to Squardon 2, Group 1. She was awakened at 5:30 a.m. by two of her torturers who took her to the bathroom and let her wash her face and use the toilet. Next they would force her to memorize and recite all camp rules and regulations. If she refused, they extended her prison term or dragged her out of the bedroom and tortured her. Typical torture methods consisted of hanging her up from her hands that were handcuffed behind her back. She also had to stand still or squat for a long time.

Another six months passed. One day around 6:00 p.m. guard Shi Yu called her to the office because Ms. Wang had written a note in her bedroom. Shi Yu and the female guard Ren Hongzan (the leader of Squardon 6), beat Ms. Wang Yunjie brutally, walked over her body and kicked her with their leather shoes. They knocked Ms. Wang to the ground. This continued until midnight.

Ms. Wang was also suspended in the air from her shackled hands for over eight hours after she refused to practice Taichi. When she refused to practice Taichi again, she was forced to stand in the scorching sun in the exercise field.

Once Ms. Wang's prison term was arbitrarily extended by five days because she refused to copy from a book that vilified Falun Gong. In addition, Ms. Wang was forced to do hard labor, including planting trees, digging holes for trees and husking corn. She was also forced to do hard labor for over ten hours for close to 30 days.

On December 3, 2002, a "Reform Group," all men, from the Liaoning Province's Public Security Division came to Masanjia Forced Labor Camp. They tortured practitioners brutally for almost a month. They were the most vicious and heartless guards from Benxi, Jinzhou and Fushun forced labor camps. Mr. Sun, Deputy Head of the Liaoning Province's Public Security Division, and Mr. Guo, the former Head of Benxi Drug Rehabilitation Bureau Mr. Guo Teiying were in charge of this "Reform Group."

This "Reform Group" identified 50 determined Falun Gong practitioners from Group 1, 2, 3 and locked them in the Zonghe Building, where the torture chamber was located. Ms. Wang Yunjie was one of the 50 victims.

At first, they kept Ms. Wang in isolation. Two collaborators monitored her. She was denied sleep and forced to stand still in the corner of the room. The next day, she had to sit on a chair with her hands tied behind her back to the back of the chair. At night, they had her wear a motorcycle helmet. The guards kept ready chopsticks and a basin of cold water. Anytime Ms. Wang closed her eyes, they poured water over her and hit the helmet hard with the chopsticks. Then the tortures became even more brutal.

Two guards from Benxi, holding an electric baton, shouted, "We will see who is tougher!" The two men tore Ms. Wang's shirt open and started shocking her breasts with two electric batons for 30 minutes. Afterwards, they made her stand still for the entire night. The next morning, guard Guo Tieying asked Ms. Wang nastily whom she would follow. Ms. Wang replied, "I will follow the Teacher of Falun Gong."

Guo Tieying immediately brought in two guards from Jinzhou and several collaborators to torture her. They tore a bed sheet into strips and fixed her legs in the meditation position. Next they tied her arms behind her back and tied her upper body to her legs. Now Ms. Wang looked like a ball. Then they suspended her in the air by her handcuffs, with hands behind her back. She suffered excruciating pain for seven hours. Afterwards, Ms. Wang could no longer walk with her back straight, but was bent over, nor could she sit straight.

The long periods of torture took a severe toll on Ms. Wang's health. Although she had become extremely frail, she had to do forced labor. She was forced to make handcrafts for export, such as paper flowers. Four months later, she was transferred back to Squardon 2, Group 1. Another two months later, the guards at Masanjia Forced Labor Camp realized that she was dying. To avoid legal ramification, they forced Ms. Wang to have a physical outside the camp. They brought her back to the camp the next day and told her family to come and get her immediately. They also demanded 2,000 yuan from her older sister. Her older sister refused, citing the crimes committed against Ms. Wang.

Finally, Ms. Wang gained her release. Later her family found out that the camp staff believed that she had only two months to live. Masanjia camp staff had not shared any of their knowledge about Ms. Wang's condition with her family. After Ms. Wang returned home, the camp called her family once to ask whether she was still alive.

In the Women's Forced Labor Camp of Hohhot, guards force Falun Gong practitioners to stand for several days, lock them in solitary confinement, forbid them from going to the bathroom or washing or brushing their teeth, and deprive them of sleep. They begin such treatment as soon as practitioners arrive in attempts to force them to give up Falun Gong. Many practitioners' legs and feet were so badly swollen from standing that they could not wear their shoes anymore.

If these tortures do not change practitioners' minds, the guards coerce inmates to torture practitioners day and night. Inmates cuff practitioners' hands behind their backs and hang them up so that the tips of their feet barely touch the floor. This torture is named "riding an airplane." If this doesn't work they might shock them with electric batons and whip them with triangular prism-shaped leather belts that had been soaked in cold water. Practitioners are whipped so badly that their bruised backs are left completely covered in blue and purple stripes.

During the day they are forced to do hard labor and at night they are cuffed to the doors. One 50 year old Falun Gong practitioner was forced to kneel on the handle of a mop for over 10 hours. In the end, the mop handle was pressed into the practitioner's flesh.

In the summer, practitioners are herded into the sports field to "feed the mosquitoes." In the winter, they are put there to freeze, so that the cuffs stick to their hands.

Guards brutally torture practitioners every day. Practitioner Zhang Yuhua was tortured until she suffered a mental collapse. Rather than showing any compassion, the guards exclaimed: "You are just pretending, so we will extend your jail term."

These are only a few examples of the many tortures against Falun Gong practitioners in the Hohhot Women's Forced Labor Camp. Every practitioner detained there has had a bitter and miserable experience.

Prison officers who participate in the torture of Falun Gong practitioners in the Hohhot Women's Forced Labor Camp include: Zhang Zhongshu, Wei Xuanmin, Ruan Yiyi, Kong Guihua, Zhang Hong, Guo Xiangzhi, Hou Jianjun, Zhang Enqin, Peng Yumei, Chen Min, Feng Li, and Chang Hong.

Other perpetrators: Ran Lingxue, Xiao Guangsheng, Wu Jing, Tian Jihui, Li Xiumei, Guo Cuiying.

It has been reported that after 51-year-old Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhang Xinyi from Changsha City was tried secretly on August 4, 2005, she was illegally sentenced to three years in prison by the Tianxin District Court in Changsha City. (The prison term is from April 28, 2005 to April 27, 2008).

The reasons for Ms. Zhang's sentence are as follows.

In 2004 the Tianxin District Court determined that practitioners Ms. Tan Xiangyu and Ms. Deng Chaogang from the Tianxin District were guilty as well as Ms. Zhang Xinyi. The emphasis of the trial was on the defendant's breaking of the law, but the unlawful conduct of the law-enforcement agents was completely ignored.

For example:

On April 8, 2004, Ms. Tan Xiangyu and Ms. Deng Chaogang's trial took place, but the court did not inform their family members of the trial. Some of their relatives and friends went all over to inquire where the trial was going to be held, and only then were they able to appear in court.

On August 4, 2005, when it tried Mrs. Zhang, the Tianxin District Court did not inform Ms. Zhang's family members, either. In addition, they strictly blocked the news. The 125^th article in China's Constitution clearly states that when the people's court tries a case, all proceedings are conducted publicly. However, the family members were not even informed.

In June 2004, Ms. Tan Xiangyu's relatives went to the Tianxin District Court to get a written judgment and prepared to appeal, but they encountered obstacles created by Judge Chen Xinzheng, who did not issue a written judgment for a long time. It took more than half a month. The written judgment was obtained only upon her relatives' repeated request. Judge Chen Xinzheng's actions obviously obstructed the process of appeal by Ms. Zhang's relatives.

This time Judge Chen Xinzheng again presided over the illegal sentencing of Ms Zhang Xinyi. Other people from the Tianxin District Court who participated in the trial were: jurors Peng Lian and Zhang Huifang, clerk Tang Bin, and prosecutor Yu Lihua from Tianxin District procuratorate. Some of the people who presented evidence and thus participated in persecuting Ms. Zhang were surnamed Gong, Xu, Yuan from Xintian Elementary School in the Tianxin District, Huang, Tang, and Guo from the Baoziling Community in the Tianxin District.

Ms. Zhang has been imprisoned in Changsha jail close to five months. During this time, she has always persisted in the righteous belief in Master and Falun Gong. She once fasted to protest the illegal imprisonment. Now, Ms Zhang has appealed to the Changsha Intermediate Court and requested that the first trial decision from the Tianxin District Court be rescinded.

On August 10, 2005, officers from the Xhanhua Police Department illegally arrested Ms. Ding Shumei, a Falun Gong practitioner from Xuanhua, Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province. Without a warrant, they sent her directly to the Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp. Since Ms. Ding refused to cooperate after the arrest, they beat and tortured her with electric batons. To protest the persecution, Ms. Ding held a hunger strike. In return, the authorities brutally force-fed her. Currently Ms. Ding is in an extremely weak physical condition. We appeal to all kind-hearted people to pay attention to Ms. Ding's situation.

Ms. Ding Shumei, 44, is an elementary school teacher. On March 2, 2000, when she went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong, she was illegally detained for one month.

In October 2001, Ms. Ding tried to clarify the truth about the persecution to others. To punish her, the authorities sentenced her to three years of imprisonment at the Kaiping Forced Labor Camp in Tangshan City.

Before the local police finally managed to send her to Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp in Hebei Province, their attempts to imprison her in other labor camps failed because the authorities at these labor camps all refused to accept her. The authorities at Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp, however, agreed to admit her after the local police bribed them with a lot of money.

On August 12, three days after Ms. Ding began her hunger strike at Gaoyang Labor Camp, the authorities began to force feed her, but Ms. Ding threw up everything they fed her. A doctor's examination a few days later concluded that she was not suitable for force-feeding. Disregarding the doctor's conclusion, Li Xuejun, Wei Hongling, and a doctor surnamed Bai, continued to force-feed Ms. Ding every day. After ten days of such torture, they tied her to a hospital bed and administered an infusion against her will. Then they took her back and continued the force-feeding. On the fifteenth day, Ms. Ding was sent back to the hospital and persecuted in the same way. Following instructions from Li Xuejun, the nurse fed Ms. Ding simultaneously through her nostrils and mouth, nearly suffocating her to death.

At the time of writing, they continue to force feed her routinely. As a result, Ms. Ding is in a terribly weak condition.

On the evening of August 26, Li Xuejun, the head of the group, led Jing Guoping, the director of the labor camp; Ran Xuefeng, the political commissar of the labor camp; and Han Kexin, the associate director, to the women's building. They called the roll, but some of the practitioners refused to answer. These practitioners were punished. After these officials casually reduced some inmates' terms by eight days per month, they visited place where Ms. Ding was being held. Despite her critical physical condition, Ms. Ding continues to be imprisoned and is constantly under the intimidation of the group head and the prison doctors.

The hospital associated with the Gaoyang police is the Legal Hospital of Gaoyang Chinese Medicine Institute. This hospital has long been involved in treating patients from forced labor camps who have been beaten by police or are in a critical condition. They never report the abuse to higher levels of government. Moreover, they often issue false death certificates for people who die from police torture.

The police departments in the various counties and districts of Zhangjiakou City have also been cooperating with Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp by bribing them to imprison citizens they have illegally arrested without a warrant. According to the official regulations, labor camp detainees from Zhangjiakou City are supposed to be sent to Tangshan City, but as a Zhangjiakou resident, Wang Peiyi, the former director of the Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp, was very supportive of the local police. Wang himself was arrested back in 2004 for graft, but was released under pressure from the Judicial Department of Hebei Province. With his connections, Wang managed to retire from his post and escape punishments.

Since May of this year, authorities at Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp have started a layered administrative system that includes open, half-open, and closed governance. The inmates in the forced labor camp who are subject to the "open governance" (such as Jing Guoping) all have connections and have bribed the authorities. Not surprisingly, no Falun Gong practitioners are allowed to be in the "open governance" category.

The west wing on the second floor where Ms. Ding is imprisoned is where the guards torture people. There are various torture instruments on that floor. These instruments have been used to torture the imprisoned, including those who are still in the labor camp.

One of the rooms on the second floor is full of many ugly pictures and words slandering Falun Gong and its founder. Whenever the authorities want to torture Falun Gong practitioners, they always send them to that room.

Among the practitioners imprisoned in the Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp, a few were released when they were in a critical condition, but they died only days after they returned home. It is suspected that these practitioners died because the authorities at the labor camp injected them with nerve-damaging drugs. The doctors in this group, including the one surnamed Bai, Wang Guoyou, and Wei Hongling, have been directly involved in persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. In particular, to further torture Ms. Ding, who was holding a hunger strike, they once purposely force-fed her every other day.

Mr. Gu Xingchang, 39 years old, is a resident of Mantang Village, Beishicao Town, Hejian City, Hebei Province. Since former president Jiang Zemin's regime started persecuting Falun Gong on July 20, 1999, Mr. Gu has been illegally detained four times. During his detention, he suffered from many cruel tortures, including being confined on the death bed and "Squatting on a hitching post." He also had hot and cold water alternately poured over him, and was deprived of sleep for 13 successive days. Gu Xingchang was illegally sentenced to 6 years of imprisonment. He is currently detained in the Tangshan Prison where he is forced to do slave labor every day.

Before Gu Xingchang started to practice Falun Gong, he suffered from many kinds of ailments and diseases such as arthritis, cholecystitis and hepatitis, which made it hard for him to work. He started to practice Falun Gong in February 1996 and began to behave according to Falun Gong's principles of "Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance." It was not long before all his illnesses completely disappeared and he started to enjoy life as a healthy person.

But such a good practice began to be persecuted in July 1999. Gu Xingchang knew that he should go tell the government about how he benefited from Falun Gong both mentally and physically and that Falun Gong had saved his life. So together with other fellow practitioners, he went to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Gong. Upon arriving in Beijing, they were illegally arrested by the police and immediately taken back to their hometown, where they were detained in the conference hall of the government offices of Beishicao Town, Hejian City. They were forced to write a guarantee statement that they would give up Falun Gong and would never again go to appeal for Falun Gong, or otherwise they would not be allowed to go home. The local officials also pressured Mr. Gu's family members to try to force him to give up Falun Gong.

In September 1999, Gu Xingchang once again went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong, and was arrested for the second time. He was detained in the Hejian City Detention Center, where he was brutally beaten by officials from the Cangzhou region, Hebei Province, who went to the detention center for a working investigation. They beat him so cruelly that his face was deformed. They also forced him to assume the punishment of "Squatting on a hitching post" by making him hold the painful position of half squatting with his arms stretched out in front of him. He was forced to hold this posture for hours at a time and was kicked by the officials if they thought his position was not satisfactory enough. After several hours of this torture, Gu Xingchang became unable to walk and had to crawl back to his confinement cell. To cover up their abuse of Mr. Gu, the authorities refused the request of his family members to see him. He was not released until his family paid 2,000 yuan as guarantee money 15 days later.

On the first day of 2000, Gu Xingchang once again went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. Right when his group arrived at the Appeals Office in Beijing, they were stopped and asked why they had come. Upon learning that they came to appeal for Falun Gong, the officials immediately sent Gu Xingchang and several other practitioners to the Panjin Detention Center of Liaoning Province, where Mr. Gu suffered from even more cruel torture. The policemen ordered the other prisoners to torture Falun Gong practitioners. They beat him and tore off his clothes. Then they alternately poured 15 basins of scalding hot water and 15 basins of ice-cold water over his head and body in turn. The cold water was poured on him each time after the hot water. While carrying out the torture, the inmates shouted abusively at him to force him to repeat phrases that they wanted him to say. They did not stop doing so until Gu Xingchang was devastated by the torture. After that he was sent back to his hometown by the policemen from the Hejian Police Department. He was released only after his family was extorted out of 3,000 yuan by the Hejian Police Department.

By the time Gu Xingchang went home, he had lost all feeling in his body. He could not support himself to stand and had to stay in bed, unable to control his bowels or bladder. He became extremely emaciated. However, because of his firm belief in Falun Gong and Teacher, he could stand up again after one month in bed. Then he resumed studying the Falun Gong books and doing the Falun Gong exercises as before, and he started to recover little by little. However, he was constantly harassed by officers from the Hejian City Police Department and the Beishicao Town Police Station. In 2001, they illegally sentenced Gu Xingchang to two years of forced labor, but he did not pass the health examination for acceptance by the labor camp and was sent back home. Nonetheless, the police continued to harass him constantly, trying to force him to give up Falun Gong.

In March 2004, police from the Police Department of Hejian City arrested Gu Xingchang with force when he was working in a factory in his village. The police also ransacked his home without any legal permission and took away a computer, a video player and some other valuable items. They also took away some truth-clarification materials and arrested Gu Xingchang's wife Wang Xiangru and sent them together to the Hejian City Detention Center.

In the detention center, the prison guards tried to extort confessions from the couple by cruelly torturing them. They were ordered to reveal details about other Falun Gong practitioners and were beaten when they refused to do so. Suffering from the cruel beatings and other torture methods, Wang Xiangru became unable to walk because one of her legs was badly injured. She was in good physical condition before, but now her face was badly swollen and her heartbeat was irregular. Gu Xingchang was also cruelly tortured each time the police interrogated him. One of his eyes was injured and seeped fluid after they were violently struck by the police. He could not see out of the injured eye for quite a long time. One side of his face was badly swollen, the bones in his feet were beaten until they were almost broken and his ankle was swollen. Even though he was in such condition, the police still shackled his feet with heavy shackles and tortured him with the death bed.

This time, Gu Xingchang was sentenced to six years in prison and was sent to the Tangshan Prison in Hebei Province. Right after he arrived in the prison, the prison guards and some collaborators started to work on "transforming" him. With several people working in 4-hour shifts, they continuously bombarded him with their false understandings of Falun Gong. They prodded his head with their fingers when he was became sleepy, thus depriving him of any sleep for 13 consecutive days. The suffering was so great that it was beyond imagination. On top of this, Gu Xingchang was also forced to do slave labor in the prison every day.

Throughout the numerous illegal arrests and brutal persecution of Gu Xingchang, police officer Zhao Baoqiao from the Political Security Office of the Hejian City Police Department played a major role.

1. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Falun Gong Practitioner Mr. Yang Mingli Held at the Weizigou Forced Labor Camp for Nearly One Year, in Poor Health

Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Yang Mingli is in his 50s. He used to live in Changchun City and work at the Shuangyang Cement Factory in Changchun. He is currently being held in Division 1 at the Weizigou Forced Labor Camp in Changchun City. His wife is also a Falun Gong practitioner. She is being held at the Heizuizi Women's Forced Labor Camp in Changchun City. His son also studies Falun Gong. He disappeared several years ago, perhaps to avoid persecution.

December 17, 2005, marked the end of Mr. Yang Mingli's illegal one-year sentence. He is in very poor health now, showing symptoms of nephritis and uremia. In May 2005, his brother paid for him to be sent to the Changchun Police Hospital where he stayed for one month. He was emaciated even after he was released from the hospital and is now having difficulty walking.

2. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Practitioner Xie Deqing Abducted and Sent to the Xinjin Brainwashing Class

Practitioner Mr. Xie Deqing lived at No. 188 East Qingjiang Road in Chengdu City, Sichuan Province. He is a retired worker from the Water Science Division of the Chengdu Hydroelectric Investigation & Design Institute. At 2:00 p.m. on September 20, 2005, Yun Yuan, head of the Funan (Shiren) Comprehensive Administration Office notified Xie Deqing to go to the office and meet with the new office director. Xie Deqing went to the office on time. Soon several people abducted him and sent him to the Funan Police Department. He was quickly transferred to the Xinjin County Brainwashing Class. His present whereabouts are unknown.

3. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Practitioner Ms. Feng Yuqiong Illegally Sentenced to Six Years in Prison

Feng Yuqiong is about 41 years old. She used to work as the technical expert at the Duanzhou Glass Factory in Zhaoqing, Guangdong Province. Ms. Feng started practicing Falun Gong in 1999. She was detained at the city detention center in 1999 because she went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. Ms. Feng was tortured with wooden restraints weighing about 50 lbs in total. She was abducted again in 2000 and held her at the city detention center for several months, followed by a two-year incarceration at the Sanshui Women's Forced Labor Camp.

On December 16, 2004, local police officers from Duanzhou followed her and abducted her again from her workplace. They ransacked her home and took her computer, printer and truth clarification materials, among other things. The police again sent her to a detention center where she held a hunger strike to protest the persecution. The police forbade her family to meet with her and did not tell her family about her health situation. In June 2005, Feng Yuqiong was skin and bones; she could not talk or walk, and the police told her family to meet with her two or three times. In mid July 2005, the police suddenly notified her family that Feng Yuqiong had been sentenced to six years in prison and was sent to the Guangzhou Prison. Her family was devastated. Her mother could not understand why her kind and upright daughter was persecuted so severely.

The authorities in Guangzhou Prison told her family, "No visits within the first three months; wait for our notice after three months."

4. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Many Falun Gong Practitioners Abducted

Around noon on October 11, 2005, police officers from Yushu City, Jilin Province, abducted many practitioners, including Su Yucai, Yang Xianchen, Chen Shujie and Li Fengqin, from the home of practitioner Su Yucai in Yushu City.

5. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Practitioner Abducted Again One Month After Release

At 6:00 p.m. on October 10, 2005, Di Xiangyang, head of the Ningcheng County National Security Division, led police officers Wang Zhancheng, Yu Haijun and another officer to break into Falun Gong practitioner Wang Shuyun's home in Tianyi Town, Ningcheng County, Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. The perpetrators said to Wang Shuyun, "We need to talk to you! Now come to the police department with us!" Wang Shuyun said, "What is it? You can tell me now." They refused to say anything and insisted that she get into the police car. They sent Wang Shuyun immediately to a prison and told the prison authorities, "Now we have enough; send four of them [Falun Gong practitioners] to the labor camp in Huhehaote City."

Wang Shuyun was abducted for the first time on August 24, 2005, by officers from Ningcheng County Police Department. With the help of Falun Gong practitioners from inside and outside China who clarified the truth, she returned home the morning of September 9, 2005. One month later, she was abducted again.

6. [Sanhe City, Hebei Province] Practitioners Guo Chunying and Xue Shuqing Abducted by Perpetrators from the Sanhe City 610 Office

Falun Gong practitioners Guo Chunying and Xue Shuqing, employees of Sanhe City Hospital in Hebei Province, were abducted by perpetrators from the Sanhe City 610 Office. Their whereabouts are unknown.

7. [Beijing] Practitioner Zhang Fengjuan Abducted in Beijing

According to a reliable source, Falun Gong practitioner Zhang Fengjuan from Fuyu County, Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province worked at Juran Family Decoration Company in Beijing. On September 19, 2005, company manager Zhu and the company security officers abducted Zhang Fengjuan and sent her to the police department. She is currently being held at the Chaoyang District Detention Center in Beijing.

8. [Anxin, Hebei Province] Practitioner Han Weixin in Worrisome Condition at the No 4 Prison in Shijiazhuang City

Practitioner Han Weixin from Anxin, Hebei Province, was held at the No 4 Prison in Shijiazhuang City for more than two years. Because of long-term persecution, he was diagnosed with severe diabetes and was in very poor health. The prison authorities not only refused to release him on medical parole, they also forced him to attend a brainwashing class to further persecute him.

9. [Beijing] Practitioner Zhang Yaping from Beijing Normal University Illegally Sentenced to Two-and-a-half Years of Forced Labor

Practitioner Zhang Yaping, from Beijing Normal University, was told by some school authorities to come and have a "talk" on September 23, 2005. The police were waiting there. They abducted her and illegally sentenced her to two-and-a-half years of forced labor. Zhang Yaping has decided to appeal.

10. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Qiao Zhongjin Tortured and Ill at the Nanshan Prison

On April 3, 2004, personnel from the Longcheng Police Station, including Huang Dianxiang, arrested practitioner Mr. Qiao Zhongjin. They sentenced him to 10 years of imprisonment at the No.8 Ward of the Nanshan Prison in Jinzhou City. As Qiao was determined in his belief in Falun Gong, Qiao was severely tortured. Now he is suffering from several illnesses, including right chest hydrocele and severe aching in the left part of his chest. He is extremely weak, however, the prison authorities refuse to release him. All family visits are denied.

11. [Wanzhou City, Sichun Province] Practitioners Zhou Xiangying and Wei Dabi Arrested for Clarifying the Truth of Falun Gong to People

During the end of September 2005, practitioners Ms. Zhou Xiangying and Ms. Wei Dabi were arrested when they clarified the truth of Falun Gong to some people. Thus, police put them into a detention center and deceived their families into believing that the two practitioners would be released in two weeks. However, when the families went to request their release after two weeks, the two practitioners' whereabouts were unknown.

12. [Shanghai] Practitioner Lin Mingli Arrested

At around 11:30 p.m. on October 9, 2005, police from the Putuo District tricked practitioner Mr. Lin Mingli into coming downstairs from his building and put him into the District Detention Center.

13. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Practitioner Shen Manliang Sentenced to Three Years of Forced Labor

It is said that practitioner Shen Manliang from Shijiazhuang City has been sentenced to three years of imprisonment in the No.3 Division of the City Forced Labor Camp.

The guards at the Jianmusi Forced Labor Camp savagely beat Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Guan Shuli and extended her sentence.

On September 19, 2005, practitioner Ms. Guan Shuli wrote an appeal to protest the extension of her term and the violence of guards Li Xiujin and Wang Xin. In the morning, Li Xiujin ignored the fact that Ms. Guan was having chest pains; she beat and kicked Ms. Guan and slapped her face. Ms. Guan told division head Wang Xin about the abuse. Wang Xin savagely beat Ms. Guan and kicked her right leg so viciously that she is no longer able to walk normally.

Forced Brainwashing in Yancheng City, Jiangsu Province

The CCP committee in Yancheng City, Jiangsu Province has held numerous forced brainwashing sessions over the past few years. Zhang Wencai, the person in charge, sent his wife and son there to help "reform" the practitioners. Zhang Wencai grabbed Ms. Wang Cuiying by her hair and banged her head against a wall. He removed a light bulb and forced Wang Cuiying to touch the exposed electric circuitry.

Practitioner Mr. Tang Feifei firmly refused to reform. His current condition is unknown.

Teacher Ms. He Qilan's Workplace withheld her pension for three years because she practices Falun Gong

Practitioner Ms. He Qilan, 72 years old, is a retired teacher. The 610 Office has constantly persecuted her. During the October 1 national holiday and other so-called "sensitive days" they arrested her and other practitioners and detained them at government sponsored custody centers for about one week. This severely disrupted the practitioners' lives. Because she said, "Falun Gong is great" and "I will continue to practice," the Xiangzhou District Education Bureau in Zhuhai City withheld her pension for three years.
