The persecution may be lessening, but the diehard group including Jiang Zemin, Luo Gan, Zeng Qinghong and Zhou Yongkang attempt to struggle until last minute. Recently Jiang and Luo group took advantage of the cowardice and avarice of a handful people in the Thai government, and instigated a series of persecution incidents in Thailand.

The Thai police have encroached upon local Falun Gong practitioners' human rights several times since December 9. They did so at the behest of CCP officials in the Chinese embassy.

On December 10, 2005, opposite the Chinese embassy, peacefully protesting Falun Gong practitioners were roughed up by Thai police. On December 14, three practitioners who handed out Falun Gong materials were beaten by the police in Pattaya. On December 15, eight practitioners were arrested by Thai police in front of the Chinese embassy. One was released, seven others are still being detained at immigration bureau. They have started a hunger strike.

Practitioners have been quietly sitting on the sidewalk opposite the Chinese embassy to protest the rape of two women Falun Gong practitioners and to call for the international community to help stop the brutal persecution happening in China. Local people support the protest and several media have reported the story since it began on December 6.

But since December 9, groups of police have repeatedly come to the scene of the protest. They attempted to take Falun Gong practitioners away to "check their identification." At noon on December 10, some police officers and vehicles went in and out of Chinese embassy. Dozens of uniformed police and plainclothes police then crossed the road, searched practitioners' bags, dragged the practitioners away and grabbed their banners, causing injury to the practitioners and their personal belongings.

When the practitioners explained to the police facts of Falun Gong practitioners being brutally persecuted and exposed the Chinese embassy's wrongdoing, some police officers expressed that they did not want to come to harass them, but the Chinese embassy asked them to do so.

At 10:00am on December 15, eight practitioners went to the Chinese embassy to peaceful sit on the sidewalk, including three children in their four-year-old, six-year-old and 14-year-old respectively. At 11:00 a.m., two police vehicles surrounded the practitioners, demanding to check their passports.

One of the practitioners, 14-year-old Wang Anqi, had been in front of the Chinese embassy for the last several days and witnessed a series of violent incidents taking place. She said that the police had been doing so every day in the past ten days. Some practitioners' passports had been checked numerous times. There were no problems, but the police repeatedly checked. Checking passports is only an excuse for the police. The true reason is that they have been pressured by the Chinese embassy to stop practitioners from protesting.

Some police officer once told Wang Anqi, "You can come here to protest, but you'd better bring your UN refugee protection letters with you." But today, when practitioners showed their IDs and UN refugee protection letters, the police claimed they were invalid, and repeatedly emphasized that Chinese embassy told them to arrest practitioners. After that, they violently dragged and kicked practitioners. They even directly carried a practitioner in sitting meditation position to the police vehicle. Children were so frightened that they cried.

After arresting four practitioners, two more police vehicles came. The police kept taking photos of four practitioners including Wang Anqi and attempted to take them to the police station. Wang Anqi required the police to show their IDs, but the police dared not, looking afraid. Afterwards, they called in more police, and violently beat and kicked practitioners and stuffed the remaining four practitioners into the police car.

The police attempted to grab a camera from Wang Anqi's hand, and they pulled and twisted her hands and arms. On December 10, Wang Anqi was also beaten by the police. The police pulled her up and threw her into the police car. She fell inside the police car. A plainclothes man beat Wang Anqi and her mother inside the police car. Other police officers stopped him.

Afterwards, they were taken to the immigration bureau. The people in the immigration bureau treated practitioners harshly. The police repeatedly said to the practitioners that the Chinese embassy asked them to do what they did. The officers also told practitioners that they had received pressure from the Chinese government and Chinese Foreign Affairs Department, the Chinese embassy made phone calls to them to require them to arrest Falun Gong practitioners.

Later, Wang Anqi was released. Her ID was confiscated. Seven other practitioners were still being detained at immigration bureau. Their cell phones were confiscated. The police threatened to detain them until a third country accepts them. Falun Gong practitioners who are being detained have started a hunger strike.

Wang Anqi expressed that these practitioners had UN refugee IDs with them, and they could legally live in Thailand. But the CCP instigated the Thai police to arrest practitioners with an excuse of their identification status. Because they were afraid to be exposed, the police have confiscated all practitioners' cell phones.

Wang Anqi made a phone call to the immigration bureau and learned that the detained practitioners' situation was very grave. They have started a hunger strike. The situation for two children, one four years old and one six years old, is also bad. As Wang Anqi's parents are also being detained, nobody takes care of her.

Practitioners call upon the international community to pay attention to this incident, and require the Thai police to immediately release the detained Falun Gong practitioners.

On December 10, opposite the Chinese Embassy in Bangkok, practitioners in Thailand continued to protest the rape of two women practitioners by police in China. They also distributed materials and clarified the truth to passersby, calling for public action to end the persecution.

Close to noon, under the Chinese Embassy's instruction, several dozen police and plainclothes police came across the street, searched practitioners' bags, dragged them and snatched away their banners, creating great interference. When the practitioners told the police about the truth of Falun Gong and exposed the Chinese Embassy's evil deeds, some police officers expressed that they did not want to come, but the Chinese Embassy asked them to do so.

During the protest at Washington, two practitioners went inside the Embassy to deliver truth-clarifying. They told the official who met them the true situation of Falun Gong and the brutal persecution. The official said that she had read the materials, as two other practitioners had delivered some materials the day before. She promised that she would send photos of the protest and practitioners' materials back to Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

A practitioner stressed the fundamental difference between the Chinese Communist Regime and Thai government. While Thailand is a Buddhist country, the communist party is atheist. If Thai police took wrong actions due to the pressure and lies from the CCP, those wrong deeds will receive due retribution. That won't be good for Thailand. The official repeatedly stated that she understood the principle and would pass the materials to Thai government.

The delivered information package also included the latest news from Thailand: On December 14, Thai police threatened that if practitioners went to the CCP embassy once again, they would arrest them. On the same day, in Pattaya, a city 150 km away from Bangkok, the police arrested three practitioners who handed out truth clarification materials. Tthe practitioners are Zhang Mengye, Luo Muluan and Jia Yachuan.

Zhang Mengye was former senior lecturer at Guangdong Provincial Electric Power School, and a fellow classmate of Hu Jintao at Tsinghua University. On January 14, 2000, Zhang was arrested and sent to Guangzhou City No.1 Forced Labor Camp to serve over two years term. He was once handcuffed to a big tree for three consecutive days, he was put in agonizing position where he could neither stand nor squat. On May 18, 2002, Zhang was arrested again by personnel from 610 Office and sent to a brainwashing center in Huangpu, Guangzhou City. On several occasions, he was tied up tightly and lifted upside down, his head was dunked into the toilet bowl to force dirty and stinky fluid into him. Zhang Mengye successfully left the mainland China on November 11, 2005.

Practitioners told the Thai embassy official: We request Thai police to release the three practitioners immediately; Thai officials should read the Nine Commentaries to see through the evil nature of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) so that they would take the right actions: Help practitioners to end the persecution rather than listening to its lies and yielding to its pressure.

During the protest, An Asian who appears to be a Thai raised his thumb toward practitioners after he studied messages of practitioners' banners.

December 10, 2005 was International Human Rights Day. In order to call attention to the human rights situation of Falun Gong practitioners in China, and to expose the brutal means by which the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) persecutes Falun Gong, practitioners held an anti-torture exhibition in the city center of Rotterdam, the second largest city in Holland.

The vivid reenactment of torture methods used on practitioners in China attracted crowds of passers-by, and many stopped and looked on. Some of them said that they already knew about the CCP persecution of Falun Gong. Some had recently watched the persecution introduced in detail on TV, while others said that this was their first time to hear about the persecution. Having understood the unjustifiable and cruel persecution, many of them signed the petition expressing support for Dutch Falun Gong practitioners in their lawsuit against former Chinese president Jiang Zemin, the prime perpetrator of this genocidal persecution.

After learning about Falun Gong and the persecution, a man with a child took out some money and said, "I am so sorry that I haven't got more with me today. I would like to denote the only money I have." The Falun Gong practitioners said that they don't accept any donations. The man sincerely said again, "How can I help you then?" The practitioners told him that he could sign the petition supporting the lawsuit against Jiang.

Taipei Jianguo High School had an anniversary on December 10, 2005, which also happened to coincide with International Human Rights Day. The school's Falun Dafa Club, established one year ago, hosted a photo exhibition entitled, "Falun Gong Practitioners Clarifying the Truth and Appealing for Falun Gong," to raise public awareness about the persecution of Falun Gong in China.

Jianguo High School is a leader among high schools in Taiwan. It has 107 years of history and is famous for its liberal teaching atmosphere. Many famous people are among its alumni including Samuel C.C. Ting who won the Nobel Prize, former Chancellor of University of California Berkley Campus Prof. Chang-Lin Tien, and the present Taipei Mayor, Ying Choe Ma.

The Falun Dafa club's exhibit was set up in a prominent place beside the main stage, which turned out to be the most visited place.

On the day of the anniversary celebration, there were all kinds of performances on campus. The whole school was full of happiness and youthful exuberance. The serenity and dignity of the photo exhibit attracted many visitors. The banner next to the booth reminded passersby, "Today is not only the anniversary of Jianguo High School, but it is also International Human Rights Day. When we are enjoying democracy in Taiwan, please don't forget them..."

A group of students passed by and one said, "This is to remind us that there are many people still suffering in this world when we are happy."

A boy from Chengkung High School saw the exhibit and was surprised, "Jianguo High School has such a meaningful club. How come our school doesn't have one?" When he learned that a signature drive was taking place for rescuing the orphans of persecuted Falun Gong practitioners in China, he signed his name without any hesitation.

A teacher came to the booth. The student practitioners told him about how the Communist Party treats Falun Gong practitioners in China. He said that he knew it already. He said he read the news in The Epoch Times a few days ago, in which it was reported that two Hebei Province Falun Gong practitioners were raped by a policeman.

A mother and child came to the booth. After learning about the situation in China, the child asked, "Shall I sign my name to help those orphans being persecuted in China?" The mother returned with a question, "What would you like to do?" The child took the pen and said, "I want to sign." After the child signed the petition, the mother signed her name too.

A teacher who is also a practitioner at Jianguo High School met two teachers, a married couple, whom she hadn't seen for about 20 years. They were very surprised and happy to recognize each other. In their talk, the teacher learned that the couple's son had just entered Jianguo High School and happened to be in her class. Later, they talked about the benefits of practicing Falun Gong. The old friend said, "That explains why your voice has changed. You are so energetic now." The teacher had formerly been weak and got sick easily. She was now over 40 years old, but was much healthier than before. During the several days of the school anniversary, she was very busy, but she was still looked robust and energetic. The couple said that they supported the teachers' and students' effort to protect the human rights of those honest people in China. They said, "You ought to let people know about these things."

The visitors to the exhibit included teachers, parents and students. They believed that this activity was very meaningful and should be widely promoted. Some parents also asked about how to learn the Falun Gong exercises, saying, "The students are under high pressure. They need this kind of peaceful exercise..."

The activity had many good effects. Among the participants from the Falun Dafa Club, many of them were attending this kind of event for the first time. Some of them were shy and didn't know how to initiate conversation with the visitors. However, through the day, they became more and more open and began to take the initiative to introduce the exhibit to visitors.

December 16, 2005

A practitioner of Falun Gong is carried away by uniformed and plain-clothes police in Bangkok. Practitioners were meditating in quiet protest across the street from the Chinese embassy.

BANGKOK (FDI)--Three men, two women, and three of their children aged 5, 6 and 14--all Chinese refugees with United Nations refugee protection documents--were detained today while meditating across from the Chinese embassy in Bangkok. The adults were formally charged. Apart from a 14-year-old girl who was released, they are currently being held at the Bangkok immigration detention center.

Wikorn Jarupruch, a Thai immigration investigator who interviewed the practitioners in detention, told practitioners that it was the Chinese embassy that directed the police to stop the protests.

The eight were among more than a dozen Falun Gong practitioners who had returned this morning to the sidewalk opposite the Chinese embassy. They have been protesting there daily since December 6, highlighting a Chinese policeman's double rape of female Falun Gong practitioners, and the six-year persecution of Falun Gong in general.

Over the last few days, Thai police have been searching practitioners and removing their banners (news). In one incident, Thai policemen were seen going in and out of the Chinese embassy before crossing the street to stop the practitioners' quiet protest.

On December 14 practitioners met with Thai police. For three hours they discussed why exposing the persecution of Falun Gong in China and the other abhorrent crimes of the Chinese Communist Party was so important to them. The officials appeared to understand and sympathized with the victims of such injustice.

However, shortly after 11 in the morning Thursday, approximately 20 Thai policemen approached the practitioners. Some were picked up with their legs still in the crossed-legged meditating position.

The official reason for arresting the five adults, given by officer Pithipan Krisdakorn, was that they failed to show proper evidence of legal entry into Thailand. But like many refugees, the arrested practitioners do not have passports and instead have official letters of protection status from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) office.

Among those forcibly arrested were Huang Guohua and his daughter Kaixin, 5. Kaixin's mother, Luo Zhixiang, had been killed in Chinese custody while three months pregnant in 2002. Kaixin had been living with her grandparents in China until last December when she was reunited with her father in Bangkok. He had fled to Thailand earlier after having been arrested and tortured in China himself.

Some of the detained practitioners are hunger striking in protest of their detention.
