On July 23, 2005, Mr. Yuan Qingjiang, a Falun Gong practitioner from Xiangfang District, Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province died from torture in Daqing Prison. Mr. Yuan was abducted on March 7, 2003, and was sentenced to prison. In Harbin Prison, he suffered severe persecution. He was forced to remain standing for 18 days without sleep by police officer Zhang Jiushan and criminals Guan Dejun, Wang Shijun and others and was brutally beaten, which caused excess fluid in his chest, difficulties in movement and loss of consciousness. On July 1, 2004, he was transferred to the No. 6 Squadron of Daqing Prison. After Labor Day (May 1st) of 2005, the Daqing Prison authorities intensified the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. Dozens of practitioners who were on hunger strike to protest the persecution were locked in a small cell and were tortured with the " Iron Chair". From May 30 to June 1, Yuan Qingjiang had been tied up for 3 days by the criminals designated by warden Dong Fenghuan and the deputy warden. Moreover, he was brutally beaten by Dong Fenghuan. As a result, he coughed up blood, and developed cirrhosis of the liver with ascites and severe emaciation. Mr. Yuan had to protest the cruel persecution by conducting a hunger strike. When his health was in a very dangerous condition, he was taken by the prison authorities to the prison hospital for so-called "treatment" which was, as the criminals put it, the same as being sentenced to death. Finally, Mr. Yuan Qingjiang died on July 23, 2005.

I was imprisoned in the Jiamusi Forced Labor Camp by the local police because I practice Falun Gong. I suffered nearly two years of persecution in the labor camp. The guards there treated practitioners in a manner too cruel to describe. I got out alive from the labor camp, but suffered extreme torture.
On May 17, 2002, when I was at home reading, several people knocked at my door and tried to break in with screwdrivers. I hurried to put away Zhuan Falun and Falun Gong materials. By then, the door had been pried open, and policeman Guo Weishan from the Yonghong District Police Department broke in with a gun in his hand. He aimed the gun at me and said, "Freeze! Falun Gong people." Several people rushed in and grabbed lots of Falun Gong materials. Guo Weishan took away my cell phone, pager, 100 yuan and other items (these things still have not been returned to me). They took me to the Yonghong Police Department.
The police wanted to interrogate me. Suddenly I became dizzy, my hands and arms couldn't move, and I found myself lying down on the ground. The police didn't care whether I was alive or not, and at midnight they dragged me to the detention center. On June 4, I was taken to the Jiamusi Forced Labor Camp.
Because I persisted in practicing Falun Gong, I was sent to the so-called Training Team, were we had to do "walk training" at 6 o'clock every morning. On the training team there were relatively more elderly people and sometimes they had difficulty walking. Police officers Lin Wei, Chen Jing, Li Yongbo frequently verbally abused us and also slandered Falun Gong. In order to stop the police's evil conduct, on July 8, the entire team consisting of more than 50 Falun Gong practitioners jointly refused to do the walk training. No matter how loud Lin Wei and Cheng Zhenhui shouted, we all stood still and refused to budge. Lin Wei ordered team leader Zhang Xiaodan to beat Falun Gong practitioner Zhang Li-e.
After the guards came to work, He Qiang called an urgent meeting to decide how to deal with us. After 9 o'clock, he led a group of guards who rushed towards us, brutally beating the Falun Gong practitioners, dragging the older practitioners to the second floor. After being beaten mercilessly, some were sent back to their rooms and those in better condition were dragged to the meeting room where guard Mu Zhenjuan reprimanded the practitioners.
Finally, the four of us who continued to resist were handcuffed in a room on the second floor. Because the guards were afraid of their evil persecution being exposed, they covered the glass door with paper. During the daytime, we were forced to sit on the floor and they handcuffed us to the bed frame. At night, we were still forced to sit on the floor and were handcuffed facing the bed frame.
The weather in July was sultry and the guards would not allow the door to be opened (there was no air conditioning). It was hard to breathe. During the night, they left the lights on, and we were forbidden from moving even when mosquitoes landed on our faces. The situation was very hard to withstand. After the 6th day, another practitioner and I developed heart problems and we were in critical condition. Only after the doctor came did they remove our handcuffs.
On October 23, the labor camp intensified the persecution against all the determined Falun Gong practitioners, subjecting us to brainwashing. We were forced to sit on a stool that was made from enamel-insulated wire with screw nuts on the surface. From 6 o'clock in the morning until 11 or 12 o'clock in the evening, except for meal time, we had to put both hands on our legs, keep our legs apart, keep the upper body straight and not move. Some fellow practitioners' buttocks started to fester. Seventy or eighty people sat in a room smaller than 60 square meters. Every day, they forced us to watch programs that slandered Falun Gong. Every day the guards pulled a few people out and attempted to "transform" them with the use of torture.
On November 1, guards Gao Jie and Lin Wei handcuffed me in the "big back-cuffing" position [this is a very painful form of torture in which one arm is pulled down the back behind the head and the other hand is raised up from the lower back. The two hands are handcuffed together, causing unbearable pain]. I was handcuffed for two hours in this extremely painful position. I was unable to withstand this torture and was "transformed," against my will and my conscience.
On November 8, I wrote a solemn declaration, declaring that my previous statement renouncing Falun Gong had been made under duress and was null and void, and gave it to policeman Hong Wei. He handcuffed me in the "big back-cuffing" position again, tortured me for more than an hour, and slapped me on the face. After ripping up my declaration statement, he asked me whether I would write such a statement again.
In February 2003, the labor camp tried to force us to write the so-called "five statements." I refused to write them. Hong Wei and prisoner Wang Jie handcuffed me in the "big back-cuffing" position again, and tortured me for seven and a half hours. Hong Wei also kicked my hands that were handcuffed. I suffered extreme pain, too painful to describe.
On March 7, guard Jiang Jianan ordered us to write a report about our "understanding." When I refused, Guard Zhang Yan slapped me. Prisoner Wang Jie handcuffed me again in the "big back-cuffing" position, while Hong Wei slapped me. I had new wounds before my old wounds had healed. I almost lost consciousness from the pain.
The guards at the labor camp often didn't allow us to use the restroom, and sometimes they only gave us a couple of minutes to relieve ourselves even if we weren't finished.
What we ate in the forced labor camp was very low-grade corn bread, and salted radish soup. Most Falun Gong practitioners were undernourished and lacked energy. We were also forced to do hard physical labor. If we couldn't complete the work during the set time, we'd be forced to work overtime; we were also frequently beaten and berated by the guards. This is the wicked Chinese Communist Party's so-called "transformation through education, like a spring breeze."
The Fourth Ward of Chaoyanggou Labor Camp located in Changchun City, Jilin Province had a meeting in the beginning of March 2005. They discussed the following:
The "transformation" rate must reach 95% according to the Central Government's order.
The Fourth Ward would be designated as the Strict Control Ward, where attacks would be conducted under the direction of Camp Director Wang Xiaoming (male) and the Fourth Ward Leader Tao Zhuangxuan (male). All of the Ward's guards would be involved in "forced transformation" by violence, torture, and deception, starting from March 30, 2005.
The base torture methods used include pouring cold water on practitioners; pressing down on their legs with force; forcing the double lotus position and then throwing down practitioners to the ground after raising them up in the air; immobilizing the legs and elbow joints with sticks and then using an electric baton to shock the arms, anus, and the whole body; using an electric baton to shock practitioners after pouring cold water onto their bodies; tying up the practitioners with rope and a stick, and then turning the sticks with force, making the rope cut into the flesh; handcuffing and then hanging up practitioners by the cuffs; and beating them with tool handles or other hard objects.
The torture lasted through the night, and sometimes practitioners were not allowed to sleep for several nights at a time. Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Pan Yushun was tortured for 4-5 days continuously. Practitioner Mr. Liu Qinghua was burned by guards on his mouth, face, and ears with lit newspapers. The guards clearly told him, their superiors said that they were allowed to kill up to 490f the practitioners during the "attack" period.
From March 30 to May 15, seventeen Falun Gong practitioners went through inhuman torture, and each torture session lasted eight hours. Many of them went through multiple torture sessions, causing a large number of bruises and dislocated joints. Afterwards many of them were unable to move under their own power.
Practitioner Liu Qinghua's term ended on May 19, and he was released. However, practitioners Mr. Wu Shuyu and Mr. Sun Changping both had their terms extended. Mr. Guan Xingxian was tortured until one leg muscle atrophied, and he had to be carried even to go to eat meals. The labor camp still would not let him out on medical parole or let his family visit him.

Mr. Xie Zhonggui is a Falun Gong practitioner from Guiyang City, Guizhou Province. Policemen from the Beijing Road Police Station in Guiyang City arrested him on July 1. On the afternoon of July 6, Xie Zhonggui's 76-year-old mother went to the police station to reason with them. She was beaten and manhandled by six or seven policemen, resulting in multiple injuries.
Following are diagnostic photos from the Guiyang Medical College and of the injuries the police caused to Pi Yiming, Xie Zhonggui's mother.
On July 1, Xie Zhonggui was arrested without cause by four policemen from the Beijing Road Police Station, who had waited for him near his residence. The police attempted to force Xie Zhonggui to write the so-called Three Statements and Xie refused. Then they sent him to the notorious Lannigou brainwashing class and detained him there for persecution.
After Xie Zhonggui's 76-year-old mother Pi Yiming learned of her son's arrest, she went to the police station to reason with them but did not get any result. The afternoon of July 6, Pi Yiming went to the police station again. Six or seven policemen grabbed and twisted Pi Yuming's arms and legs. They harshly stuffed her into a vehicle, causing this 76-year-old woman various injuries.
Xie Zhonggui used to be a drug user and could not extricate himself from it. It was Falun Gong that saved him and enabled him to regain his life, but now he is being persecuted for being a good person. The following is a statement from Xie Zhonggui's parents.
Appeal Statement
We are Xie Zhonggui's father (nearly 90 years old) and mother (nearly 80 years old). Our son is a truly good person. He was arrested without cause by four policemen from Beijing Road Police Station in front of our residence on July 1 because he is a Falun Gong practitioner.
Our son Xie Zhonggui used to be a drug user, and our family became poor due to his drug use. When his drug addition flared up, he could not control himself and became hostile even toward his own family. Later he could no longer finance his drug use and attempted suicide twice. The first time he was rescued after taking a large amount of sleeping pills. The second time, before he was about to kill himself, one of his good friends who is a Falun Gong practitioner persuaded him to read Zhuan Falun and told him that this heavenly book could change him into a better person.
After Xie Zhonggui read Zhuan Falun he became a completely changed person. Not only did he give up his drug addiction, he also got rid of his other bad habits. He became very considerate of his parents and cherished his life. Xie Zhonggui conducts himself according to the teachings in Zhuan Falun. In the several years of his practice, he set a higher standard for himself and did not do anything that would harm the country, society, people or his family.
After July 20 of 1999, the Chinese government banned Falun Gong. Based on his trust in the government, Xie Zhonggui went to appeal according to the constitution, but for several years he experienced repeated persecution and his personal freedom could not be protected. He could not get a peaceful environment at home, as he was forced to stay away from home and wander around homeless. Police arrested him one day and beat him. He was seriously hurt and his whole body was covered with injuries. He had an infected wound on his back that began to fester. The pain was so great that he fainted several times.
I am his mother. I got cirrhosis at age 30, and my whole body became swollen. The movements of my hand and foot joints were impaired. I had fainted several times. In order not to let my family bear too much of a financial burden, I stopped seeking treatment. Later, after I saw my son undergoing tremendous changes in his thoughts and conduct after practicing Falun Gong, I followed his footsteps and began practicing Falun Gong. After practicing Falun Gong, my health became better and better each day. This is a heavenly blessing for me. Falun Gong saved my son and my life.
At around 4 o'clock on the afternoon of July 1, 2005, Xie Zhonggui came home to visit his parents. He was arrested without cause in front of our residence. After that I went to the Beijing Road Police Station to ask for my son's release, but they completely denied knowledge of the arrest. The second day, when I went to the police station to demand my son's return, they told me he had been detained at the Lannigou brainwashing center because he did not write the "Three Statements" and refused the "reformation."
Two people monitored Xie Zhonggui in this brainwashing class 24 hours a day, denying him any personal freedom.
This is a serious violation of China's constitution, Article 37, which "Prohibits illegal detention and other means of depriving and limiting citizen's personal freedom, Prohibits illegal body searching of citizens," and Article 38, "Citizen's individuality and dignity should not be violated. Any insult, slander, false charge and framing of a citizen is prohibited."

Yushan Forced Labor Camp, also called Cai-Shi-Chang [meaning "quarry"], is located in Ji County, Tianjin City. Because of the terror and hard labor in the camp, the mere mention of its name would make any one who had been detained there turn pale.
In 2001, I was abducted and taken to Yushan Forced Labor Camp for clarifying the truth about the persecution of Falun Gong and distributing truth-clarification flyers. One year later, at the end of 2002, the labor camp transferred all the Falun Gong practitioners detained in all the four divisions of the labor camp, about twenty of us, to the No. 1 Division, which was thus called the "Special Supervision Division."
Immediately after the 2003 Chinese New Year, following the "spirit" of "the Sixteenth National CCP Congress," which declared Falun Gong a "hostile force," the labor camp began to persecute the fifteen Falun Gong practitioners who had refused to accept the brainwashing. Labor Camp Deputy Director Wang Guifu as well as Zhang and Lu took the lead, while No. 1 Division guards Li Zhan (the political head) and Wang Baodong (the division chief) actually carried out the persecution.
First, the prison guards prepared many posters and banners that contained language slandering Falun Gong and the founder of Falun Gong. They posted the posters and banners everywhere in the hallways, cells, restrooms and conference rooms, and then forced the Falun Gong practitioners and all other inmates in No. 1 Division to gather in the conference room. They ordered every one to verbally abuse Falun Gong. This practice was repeated several times per day, and every inmate must do it. Every evening from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m., the guards ordered all the inmates in the division to attend a "Law Class," and in every morning they forced the Falun Gong practitioners to spend three more hours studying articles that slandered Falun Gong. The guards attempted to use this means to brainwash the practitioners in the long run, and at the same time, poison, threaten, lure and deceive other inmates, so as to make them hate Falun Gong and isolate the Falun Gong practitioners.
Second, as the atmosphere of terror was continuously created, the physical and mental abuse of the Falun Gong practitioners kept escalating. Under the excuse of taking care of the Falun Gong practitioners' health, the guards forced the practitioners to participate in the punitive "lineup" exercises, which lasted a long period of time. The persecution helpers, or those inmates who helped the guards in watching and persecuting the practitioners (for each practitioner there was one or two inmates following and watching him), under the instigation of the guards, would drag, punch, kick those who resisted the persecution.
Third, after returning from the lineup exercises, the persecution helpers forced the practitioners to maintain a sitting position called "three straightened and one staring." [This is a way of torturing the practitioners. The "seat" is a small stool that is universally used in labor camps in China. The practitioners are forced to sit on it with the legs kept together. The thighs are kept horizontal and the shins are kept vertical. The fingers point towards each other and the palms are put on the tops of the knees. The neck, back and waist are straightened. This is called "Three straightened." The eyes look straight and stare at a spot designated by the monitors. Blinking is not allowed. As long as a practitioner refuses to be reformed, he or she will have to sit like this without moving for a long time. This is called "three straightened and one staring," which was described at /emh/articles/2004/12/16/55642.html]
They ordered the practitioners to sit on small stools in a stiff and straight position, and keep in line with each other; otherwise they would be verbally abused or even punched or kicked. In the meantime, several persecution helpers, who were surrounding the practitioners, face-to-face, kept reading those articles that slander Falun Gong, so as to mentally torture the practitioners and achieve the effect of brainwashing.
Among the persecution helpers, there were several inmate leaders and thugs who made tall paper hats and paper boards, on which they wrote language slandering Falun Gong. They forced a hat on a practitioner's head and hung a board around his neck, and then dragged him to the hallway. They shouted while showing others what they had done to the practitioner. The guards who saw this situation did nothing to stop it. Actually, without the sanctions of the guards, the inmates would have not dared to do such evil things. None of the practitioners were allowed to do anything on their own. Before doing anything, they first had to get approval from the persecution helpers, and then be accompanied by the helpers while doing it.
Fourth was sleep deprivation. Practitioners were not allowed to sleep for a period from a minimum of five days and nights to as long as several weeks. The guards forced the practitioners to take over all the night shifts (each shift was eight hours long) that were supposed to be assigned to other inmates. During the interim, the persecution helpers also tortured the practitioners through means of swearing, using needles to prick the practitioners' fingers under their nails or other parts of the bodies, pouring cold water on them, threatening, burning fingernails with cigarettes, and others.
Additionally, the guards also held meetings to slander Falun Gong. In one meeting, two Falun Gong practitioners stood up and loudly spoke, "Falun Dafa Is Good!" The persecution helpers, inmate leaders and thugs took off their dirty socks and stuffed them into the two practitioners' mouths. They then sealed the practitioners' mouths tightly with tape. So these villains, under the instigation and instruction of the guards, used despicable and brutal means, at their will, to torture the practitioners; they have not received any punishment for what they had done, and instead, were rewarded with reductions of their terms of sentence because of their "good" behavior.
Seeing that they were still unable to shake the Falun Gong practitioners' belief, the guards started to resort to the following means: they instructed the inmates to bring in from the kitchen about ten pounds of coarsely grounded corn flour, mix it with salt and ground hot pepper, put the mixture into a large Sprite bottle, fill up the bottle with tap water, and then force-feed the content of the bottle into a practitioner's stomach. As the salt content was very high, the practitioner who had been force-fed would lose his or her voice in less than half an hour and repetitively have diarrhea. Even so, the practitioner was still not allowed to drink water.
Fifth, after exhausting all the means of torturing as described above, the guards eventually tore off their masks of hypocrisy, which was their last resort. Driven by their personal interests (a guard who has successfully brainwashed a practitioner will be rewarded with a bonus of several thousand yuan, and the persecution helper rewarded with a sentence reduction), the guards and the persecution helpers started to persecute Falun Gong practitioners using any and all means. Guards Li Zhan and Wang Baodong instructed the inmate leaders and thugs to shock the Falun Gong practitioners with several 160,000-voltage electric batons. The villains who were actively involved in shocking the practitioners were all inmate leaders and inmate thugs, mainly seven of them, who included Yang Shaolin (from Tianjin), Wei Enjie (from Tianjin), Gao Jinhua (from Yanbian City of Jilin Province), Feng Shuangli (from Hebei Province), Hao Chuan (from Baodi County of Tianjin), Meng Fanguang (from Yanbian City of Jilin Province), and Gao Shuangjian (from Tianjin).
These villains first deceived or dragged a practitioner to a warehouse, which was, in fact, a torture chamber. Located in a rather isolated area, it was difficult for people to hear the noises resulting from the electric shock torture. Several of them then surrounded the practitioner and asked if he would continue to practice Falun Gong or not. If the answer was "yes," they would take off the practitioner's clothes and shoes, knock him down on the floor, and restrain him. They used a blanket to cover the practitioner's head to muffle the screams of pain. Then they started to shock the practitioner all over his body.
Enduring this was an extremely painful experience. Unable to withstand the shocking, some practitioners wrote the three statements. Among the practitioners, Han Ying and Ma Zexuan received the worst electric shocking. Once, after Han Ying was shocked for a long time, the back of Han's head and the entire back of Han's body were covered densely with blisters. Wang Chuanwu's mouth was also filled with blisters as a result of electric shocking. Additionally, they also did not allow Wang to sleep for a long time. As result, Wang suddenly collapsed in the hallway.
Falun Gong practitioner Li Shitou, who has a Master degree, was transferred there from the Shuangkou Forced Labor Camp. In March of 2003, guard Li Zhan punched and kicked Li Shitou for refusing to accept the arbitrary physical abuse; Li Shitou's eye-glasses were broken as result of the beating. Later, Li Zhan and Zhou Haiying (the inmate leader in the cell where Li Shitou was detained) tortured Li Shitou again with electric batons, trying to force him to accept the brainwashing.
To strengthen and keep the so-called "transformation" achievements, the guards kept torturing the practitioners mentally, using the following means:
(1) The guards ordered the persecution helpers to closely watch the activities of the practitioners, who were especially not allowed to say anything about Falun Gong. The inmates who have actively helped the guards persecuting the practitioners included Liu Baoan, Hou Kuaihua, Li Qingyun, Liu Mingyi, Ma Guoling and Liu Yijian.
(2) The guards forced the practitioners to spend a lot of time watching videos and reading books and newspapers that slander Falun Gong. After watching or reading the materials, the practitioners were also forced to write down "their understandings."
(3) Every week the practitioners were forced to renew their "Three Statements."
(4) The guards let three 610 Office members, who pretended to be Falun Gong practitioners, bring in some fake articles, which they deceivingly claimed to be written by Master, so as to use them to deceive the practitioners. They also resorted to stepping on Master's photos, as well as other means. If a practitioner refused to accept the brainwashing, the guards would extend, again and again, his term of forcing labor or even formally sentenced him to prison.
Every time officials of the Reeducation-through-Labor Bureau visited the labor camp, they would talk with Falun Gong practitioners. Guards Li Zhan, Wang Baodong, Zhang Xuyong and Li Lixin (these four guards were the main ones in No. 1 Division who were actively involved in persecuting the practitioners, but they rarely did the beating by themselves; other guards including doctor Wang from No. 3 Division and Wei Wei from No. 2 Division also participated in the persecution.) were worried that their crimes would be exposed. So before every visit, they always talked to Falun Gong practitioners in order to prevent the exposure of their crimes. They ordered the practitioners to tell the visiting officials how the guards had "transformed" them. The practitioners were not allowed to mention what had actually happened in the labor camp, and they were instructed to only say that they had willingly stopped the practice or they quit because they had been moved by the guards' caring and persuasion; the guards wanted to use these lies to cover the facts of the persecution and deceive the visiting officials. The guards acted this way during every visit.
The labor camp guards forced the detainees to do slave labor. The guards used batons, rubber clubs, pick handles, and other means to torture the detainees. To make money, the labor camp forced the inmates to work overtime and over-capacity and do dangerous work that nobody wants to do, such as using dynamite to blow up rocks in the mountains, removing and transporting rocks, loading lime, sewing balls and toys (for export).
The inmates worked usually 15 to 22 hours per day; when they could not finish the work, they were even not allowed to sleep for several days in row. There was no safety or protection gear for the detainees who were asked to go to the mountain to load lime. Lime is caustic, so the inmates, without exception, showed various degrees of burns and pus formation in the infected areas all over their bodies. Nevertheless, they still had to go up to the mountains, and the work there was still very intense.
Yushan Forced Labor Camp is one of the dark dens in Tianjin City that are used to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. In Tianjin City, other labor camps involved in the persecution include Banqiao Women's Forced Labor Camp, Shuangkou Forced Labor Camp, Jianxing Forced Labor Camp, and Qingbowa Forced Labor Camp.
By early 2005, the practitioners who were abducted to this forced labor camp were released because they were "transformed" or their terms were finished. Most of these practitioners have started to practice Falun Gong again and do the three things that Falun Gong practitioners should do.
One of them is Chang Tianxiang, 40 year old, from Jinnan District, Tianjin City. After he was released from Yushan Forced Labor Camp in 2004, he studied Falun Gong books and "clarified the truth" diligently. He clarified the truth about the persecution of Falun Gong on commuter buses and received very good results. However, he neglected taking safety precautions. In August 2004, when he clarified the truth and distributed VCDs on a bus, he was reported by someone to the police and thus arrested. Next day the police searched the house he had rented and took away his new computer, worth over 3,000 "yuan", his printer, worth more than 300 yuan, and some truth-clarification materials. He was sentenced to two years of forced labor, and taken to Shuangkou Forced Labor Camp in Shuangkou Town, Beichen District, Tianjin City. His current status is unknown.
The facts about the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in Yushan Forced Labor Camp have not been exposed in detail before. Today I wrote down these facts to thoroughly expose the crimes committed at this forced labor camp.
Ms. Liu Ying is a Falun Gong practitioner from Chengdu City, Sichuan Province. She was subjected to cruel persecution at the Qingyang People's Hospital, where she was repeatedly injected with unidentified drugs until her health was in danger. The hospital then released her on July 19 because they were afraid of being held responsible for their crimes.
Qingyang People's Hospital, cooperating with the Chengdu City 610 Office, has already systematically murdered about ten Falun Gong practitioners. The practitioners who were murdered by this hospital include Deng Jianping, Duan Shiqiong, Chen Guijun, Hu Hongyue, Huang Lisha, Shen Lizhi and other practitioners who have not been officially identified.
On June 28, 2005, plainclothes police from Qinglong Police Department arrested practitioner Ms. Liu Ying at the gate of her Qinglong apartment community. Ms. Liu shouted loudly, "Falun Dafa is good!" while the police were lifting her up and forcing her into a car. Then the police confiscated her family's personal property and sent her to the "Chengdu Legal System Class" for brainwashing.
After her arrest, Ms. Liu went on a hunger strike to resist the persecution.
Ms. Liu Ying has been arrested, persecuted and gone on hunger strikes many times. Her body has already been severely abused and injured. After the first day of her hunger strike this time, she displayed symptoms of some illness. She was therefore sent to the Chengdu City Detention Center, where she had been detained and tortured many times. Because of her severe condition, the detention center refused to admit her. She was then transferred to Qingyang People's Hospital in Chengdu City.
In this hospital, Ms. Liu was injected with an unknown substance. Later she experienced weakness, dizziness, nausea and some other adverse effects. Qingyang People's Hospital is known as the designated hospital for patients from the Chengdu City Detention Center. Many practitioners sent to this hospital were force-fed and injected with drugs, which damaged their central nervous systems. After the practitioners were dead, the hospital staff hid their corpses in the crude morgue at the Railroad Bureau Center Hospital in Chengdu City and cremated them in the Wenjiang funeral parlor without recording their identities.
Because Ms. Liu Ying refused to submit to the injections, hospital workers stretched out her arms and handcuffed them to the bed frame, immobilizing her and causing her extreme pain. On another occasion her hands were stretched out and handcuffed over her head. After a short time her hands and arms lost all sensation.
As a further humiliation, the police refused to give Ms. Liu Ying any sanitary pads during her menstrual period.
Because she had suffered persecution for such an extended period of time, she was diagnosed with anorexia, muscle atrophy, and stomach atrophy. She was deemed to be on the verge of death. Her persecutors were afraid of being held responsible for her bad health and possible death, so they released Ms. Liu on July 19.
The primary perpetrator in this case is Zhang Fuming, the
director of Qinglong County 610 Office in the Qinglong Police
