The Facts of the Persecution of Falun
Gong -- January
6, 2006
Issued by Clearwisdom Net
According to first hand information, many Falun Gong practitioners are still being persecuted in Liaoning Province's Women Prison. In the No. 1 prison section alone, more than ten Falun Gong practitioners are enduring inhuman treatments. All of them have experienced different kinds of cruel atrocities and contemptuous means of brainwashing. Among them is Jinzhou City Falun Gong practitioner, Ms. Wang Lanzhi, about 49 years old. Her name is well known to all the prison guards and the few hundred inmates inside the prison; everyone knows her story. At present, Ms. Wang is in an extremely dangerous condition. The tortures have caused serious damage to her brain; she reacts very slowly and the expression in her eyes is dull. One time she jumped from a building after a day's work and nearly died from the injuries.
Ms. Wang was sworn at or beaten every day since she arrived at the prison. On the first day, more than ten prisoners surrounded her and beat her up. Zhang Yanping, a convicted murderer, admitted that when she beat Wang Lanzhi, she would slap her over thirty times in one shot. The prisoners pinched all over Wang Lanzhi's body, causing blotchy bruises to appear. Prisoners Zhang Yan, Xuan Jinchun and Zhou Xueying would find any excuse to beat up Wang Lanzhi when they were in a bad mood. They claimed that they had the freedom to do so at will without any prison authorities being notified. The prison guards warned Wang Lanzhi that she had to get permission from the two inmates that were assigned to monitor her 24-hours-a day before she could speak to the division captains.
The guards pretended not to see that Wang Lanzhi was brutally beaten; furthermore, they secretly ordered her monitors not to give her any freedom. They even restricted the way she walked and ate. Division Captain Jiao Shimei commented that Wang Lanzhi needed to be "fixed." It is reported that these prisoners have all received retribution for harming Ms. Wang in the way of hand and shoulder pain. Wang Lanzhi advised them to not hit Falun Gong practitioners, but not only did they not listen, the torture got worse. When their hands ached, they beat her with slipper soles or clothes hangers and stuffed her mouth with rags to silence her screams.
From late March to early May of 2005, the education section director, Guo Haiyan, and the official in charge of the number 3 prison section, An Xin, cruelly persecuted Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhao Aili for more than one month. They instructed Shi Xiuli and Chen Guixin (two convicted murderers), and Ma Li (a drug dealer), to beat and torture Ms. Zhao continuously, day and night. They set up what they called a "punishment hall" and tied and hung up Zhao Aili for five hours. Then they used an obscene method: they stripped Zhao Aili naked. When Zhao Aili tried to stop them and resist the atrocity, both Chen Guixin and Ma Li held down Ms. Zhao's hands and Shi Xiuli knocked out four of her teeth.
After Haicheng City Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhao Junfang was beaten up numerous times by the criminals, her eyes and face were badly hurt and she had to stay in the hospital for quite a while. Her wound was still covered with gauze at the time of her release from the hospital. She was once brutally beaten up by prisoner Zhang Yingchun. Wang Xiulan, a convicted con artist, collaborated with Zhao Junfang to torture Ms. Zhao inhumanly, after which she walked with a limp. Under the extreme pressure and torture both physically and mentally, Zhao Junfang has become deathly thin and emaciated.
Yingkou City Falun Gong practitioner Chen Liyan also experienced seriously damaging and painful tortures. Soon after her arrival at the prison, both her legs and eyes started twitching due to the various cruel tortures she had suffered at Masanjia Forced Labor Camp. Ms. Chen often fell when she walked. Once when her two personal monitors Wang Xiulan and Wang Hongxia did not hold her when walking down the stairs, she fell and gashed her head, which needed stitches. Every day the ruffians tried to "transform" Ms. Chen. Her eyes, face and body were beaten so badly that she was covered with bruises. She still has a difficult time walking. Two criminals always hit her and swore at her in front of hundreds of prisoners. Wang Xiulan even claimed loudly in front of Falun Gong practitioners that there was no need to ask permission from the chief to beat a Falun Gong practitioner.
Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Fang's leg was broken during a beating. Her painful experience was beyond description. She now walks lamely and the leg is in serious condition. She was very youthful at the time of her imprisonment, but she is now very old looking and her hair has turned white. A "collaborator" named Su Li and a murderer were still forcibly trying to transform Falun Gong practitioners. Over ten of them surrounded Falun Gong practitioner Wang Yanqui. They beat her and stuffed her mouth with a toilet brush, dragged her by her hair and took turns slapping her face viciously. Wang Yanqui's body, including her face and eyes, were covered with black bruises. She only recovered after two months. The guards strictly control the time allowed for practitioners to use the restroom, washroom and bathroom. They frequently beat and mocked Ms. Wang. There were no exceptions for practitioners Yang Yumei and Wang Yusi with serious heart diseases. Their bodies were frequently beaten until they were black and blue with bruises and had scratch marks on their necks. Practitioners were doused with cold water in the winter, forced to take off their clothes, and kicked and beaten all the time.
When confronted with all of these unbearably cruel facts, the prison guards said, "How come they did not force-feed you with spicy cayenne water?" Then they discussed with the prisoner-leaders how to better persecute Falun Gong practitioners.
Since the beginning of November, Liaoning Province's Women's Prison has prohibited families from visiting Falun Gong practitioners. The prison warden claimed that stopping the visits was for the purpose of preventing the spread of the bird flu.
Newly appointed 610 Office director, Liu Xipeng, from Ju'nan County, Linyi City, Shandong Province, orchestrated a vicious persecution of local Falun Gong practitioners after he assumed office. He has brought misery, grief and suffering to a multitude of practitioners and their families. He has also committed monstrous crimes. Starting in May 2005, Liu Xipeng and his evil accomplices went on an abduction spree, arresting 30 Falun Gong practitioners and illegally confiscating their property. They also sentenced a dozen practitioners to labor camps for "reeducation".
On the evening of November 26, 2005, officials from the Ju'nan 610 Office, the Ju'nan County local police station, and the local armed police department abducted 19 Falun Gong practitioners who were gathering at an experience sharing conference at Xujia Huangzhuang Village, Shizilu Town. Ms. Yang Guangzhen was abducted and sent to Jinan Forced Labor Camp for three years of "re-education-through-labor." It was reported that six or seven other practitioners that were also illegally sentenced and transferred to a labor camp for "reform" and "transformation."
On October 9 in Dadian Town, Ju'nan County, Ms. He Xiangtian, who is over 50 years old, was illegally arrested from her home. Her home was ransacked and personal family property, including Falun Gong books and materials, were confiscated. Practitioners Wei Maoshan and Li Hongqin's homes were also searched at the same time. Ms. He Xiangtian was sentenced to two years in a labor camp in Ji'nan City. .
On the evening of August 12, Ji Xingshu, about 60 years old, Ji Xingcai, also about 60, Peng Xiuzhan, about 50, Li Baoshan, 43, and two other practitioners were arrested from their homes. Later, practitioner Cui Jian'ai from Duoju Guangzhuang Village was also arrested. Peng Xiuzhan, Li Baoshan, Cui Jian'ai were all sent to a labor camp. Mrs. Cui Jian'ai's husband, Wang Houling (41 years old), also a Falun Gong practitioner, was imprisoned and sent to a labor camp for more than two years. After Mrs. Cui Jian'ai was arrested, her 10-year-old daughter became destitute. When Li Baoshan was arrested, he left behind his 82-year-old father and seven-year-old daughter. Li Baoshan's wife, Qian Jinhua, was compelled to leave her home because of the persecution. She remained destitute and homeless, wandering from place to place for more than two years.
On August 11, officials from Ju'nan County 610 Office and the Dadian local police arrested Ms. Wang Xianxue from Duoju Guanzhuang Village. These intruders entered her home by breaking down the door. They ransacked the house and confiscated personal family property, including Falun Gong books and materials. On July 6, the notorious 610 officials arrested Ms. Sun Li from her home. She was arbitrarily sent to a labor camp.
On May 11, in Shizilu Town, Ju'nan County, the homes of Chen Xinxia, Xiao Mingxia, Sun Li, Yan Xia and Zhao Erhua were ransacked. Chen Xinxia and Zhao Mingxia were arrested from their homes. On June 1, Chen Xinxia and Xiao Mingxia were sent to Ji'nan brainwashing centers, but their physical conditions made them unqualified to be placed at the labor camp. Liu Xipeng and his accomplices resorted to bribes as well as encouragement to get the brainwashing center authorities to accept Xiao Mingxia into the labor camp. Chen Xinxia was refused admittance because of Hepatitis B. She was released from the prison camp and allowed to go home.

Between July 1999 to December, 2005, twenty-seven Falun Gong practitioners died as a result of the persecution in the Jinzhou area. The first 14 (51.8%) died from arrest, detention, or abusive treatment under the persecution, including some who had died later at home. The other 13 died unexpectedly due to the recurrence of former illnesses after suffering prolonged mental trauma including extortion, high-pressure threats, multiple arrests and other mental torment.
Tables 1 and 2 represent the death distribution by age and gender category. About 70% of the deaths in general were of those who were 45 years old or older and, of these, 84.6% died from the recurrence of former illnesses as a result of the persecution. Fifty-seven percent (57%) of practitioners died directly from persecution. Among 27 deaths, 74% were women. The results show that more deaths occurred in women or in older age (45+ years old) group.

As we can see from Table 3, three of the 14 deaths occurred at the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp, two at the Jinzhou Detention Center, one at the Liaoning Province Women's Prison, and one, a practitioner from outside of the region, at the Jinzhou Nashan Prison, a total of seven deaths. The forced labor camps and prisons were the places where the most severe persecution took place. The Masanjia Forced Labor Camp was the worst. One practitioner died in 1999 during a hunger strike; one died while appealing for Falun Gong in 2000; two died from abuse in a brainwashing class and the last three died from arrest, detention, and torture.
Police and personnel from the Justice Department are heavily involved in all aspects of this persecution. The police department, the local police station, the residential community officials, the courts, the procuratorates, the judicial bureaus, the department of corrections and the prisons all participated systematically to persecute Falun Gong Practitioners.
The Jinzhou City ruling Communist Regime, the Jinzhou Political and Judiciary Committee, the Jinzhou Education-through-labor Committee, the Jinzhou 610 Office, the Jinzhou National Security Bureau and the National Safety Team have been participants in this persecution.
The majority of Falun Gong Practitioners experienced persecution by local police or police station authorities through extortion, high-pressure threats, multiple arrests and severe mental abuse. As a result, some of them had their former illnesses return. Due to the information blockade, we were not able to collect more detailed data. The actual number of deaths is believed to be higher than twenty-seven.
(Clearwisdom.net) Since July 20, 1999, Majialong Forced Labor Camp in Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province, has never stopped persecuting Falun Gong practitioners.
On August 23, 2005, Xiao Jing, a direct participant in the persecution, tied up Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Hu Meizhen by the wrists and stuffed a dirty rag in his mouth on the guards' orders.
At Majialong Forced Labor Camp the guards order collaborators to persecute practitioners, and when the practitioners report the abuses, the guards always refute their accountability. Officials at Majialong use all the notorious methods devised at other forced labor camps to persecute practitioners, as well as the following brutal torture methods. The first one is known as "Stick to the Wall," in which the arms and legs of a practitioner are forced apart as much as possible, then the practitioner is forced to face a wall with his or her whole body pressed to it, until the practitioner chokes and falls. Fan Lujie and other practitioners from Jiujiang City were persecuted in this way until they lost consciousness. Having been prohibited from using the restroom for 10 to 15 days, many of the practitioners suffered extreme pain and constipation. Another torture method is called "Bent at the Waist With Head Touching the Wall," in which a practitioner is forced to stand about half a meter from a wall and bend 90 degrees at the waist. The cap of an inkbottle is placed between the practitioner's head and the wall. Those in charge closely monitor the practitioner and prohibit any movement.
Mr. Mao Rulun was a 66-year-old practitioner from Jiujinag City. In March 2001 he was illegally sentenced to two years of forced labor and suffered brutal torture at the Majialong Forced Labor Camp. A guard of the second group, Deng Chengsong, ordered collaborator Wu Binlin to torture him. They handcuffed Mr. Mao Rulun to a window, forcing him to stand on his tiptoes. Wu wet the floor with soapy water, causing Mr. Mao to slip. They also hit Mr. Mao in the kneecaps with a wooden board. They hung Mr. Mao up like that for three days with nothing to eat or drink. Later they cuffed his hands behind his back and hung him on the window frame. Mr. Mao's 190 pounds were suspended only by the handcuffs, which cut into his wrists and caused serious injury. He was very weak after being released from the camp. On February 11, 2004, Mr. Mao Rulun passed away.
Some of collaborators and guards who've persecuted practitioners have suffered terrible karmic retribution. Female guard Zhou Jing miscarried after torturing practitioners. A female collaborator tripped and died soon after her release.

(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong practitioners who have been detained in the Zhongba Labor Camp (a.k.a. Zhongba Farm) in Guizhou Province are severely persecuted. Mr. Wu Changyi lost his toenails because his feet were repeatedly stomped on by inmates who had been instigated to do so by prison guards. Primary schoolteacher Wu Renhui suffered a mental collapse because of the inhumane persecution he was subjected to.
Details of the persecution of Mr. Wu Changyi
Mr. Wu Changyi, 67 years old, is a retiree of the Laoyingshan Division, Shuicheng Mining Section Hongyan Branch Bureau, Liupanshui City, Guizhou Province. In 2004, he was sent to the First Squadron of the Fifth Group, Zhongba Labor Camp, Qingzheng County, Guizhou Province. There he was brutally persecuted.
Because he was not willing to give up his belief in Falun Gong during his detention in the labor camp, he was put into solitary confinement and held there over ten days. He was also deprived of sleep. The prison guards instigated drug addicted inmates to repeatedly stomp on his feet. The skin of his right foot became badly damaged as a result and all five toenails came off. In June and July of 2005, the guards of the Zhongba Labor Camp placed him in solitary confinement for another seventy days. As a result, his health quickly deteriorated.
Details of the persecution of Mr. Wu Renhui
Mr. Wu Renhui, in his twenties, is a primary school teacher at the Chengguan Primary School in Zhazhou County, Guizhou Province. Because he continued practicing Falun Gong after the persecution of Falun Gong started on July 20, 1999, he was sentenced to three years of imprisonment. After he was released, he returned to the school to teach again. During classes he told the students the truth about Falun Gong and taught the students about the principles of "Truth, Compassion, Forbearance." As a result, he was sentenced again in 2004.
Wu Renhui is now detained in the First Squadron of the Fifth Group in Zhongba Labor Camp. Because he didn't yield to the guards' pressure and wasn't willing to give up his belief in Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance, the guards confined him, hung him up and deprived him of sleep for twenty-seven days. He was persecuted to the brink of death. He suffered a mental collapse as a result of the persecution.

On September 13, 2005, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Xiong Jiwei was brutally beaten in Fanjiatai Prison, which is located in Shayang County, Hubei Province. Prison guards brutally kicked his chest with their leather boots. This cruel beating lasted over 20 minutes. Prison Director Xiong Zuyong (male), guard Zhang Jianguo (male), and Prison Doctor Zhang Dian (male) all witnessed the beating, plus many guards were right outside the metal bars. Not a single person tried to stop such brutality. For the next two weeks, Mr. Xiong Jiwei's body was covered with bruises, and he experienced extreme pain whenever he coughed.
After that beating incident, Warden Xiao Tianbo (male) did not discipline any guards and, in fact, encouraged prisoners to beat practitioners. There were many instances in which Xiao Tianbo, directly or indirectly, ordered prisoners to beat practitioners.
In March 2003, Mr. Xiong Jiwei was locked in solitary confinement
because he
refused to watch a TV program that slandered Falun Gong. On that day,
Prisoner
Hu (male) was instructed to beat Mr. Xiong Jiwei. Mr. Xiong went on a
hunger
strike to protest, and he was inhumanly tortured with force-feeding on
the third
day. Guard Xiong Zuyon almost suffocated Mr. Xiong when he shouted,
"Falun Dafa is good!" Guard Zhang Jichuan stepped on Mr. Xiong's head
and beat
him
cruelly. They handcuffed Mr. Xiong to the metal bars. Mr. Xiong lost
half of a
tooth during the beating.
