On July 14, 2006, 17-year-old high school student Zheng Yunlong, his father, Zheng Fengxiang, and his mother, Li Wenhua, from Jilin Province were taken to Changjiang Road Police Station by eight policemen, led by deputy chief Wang Hongwei. They were illegally interrogated and tortured to extort confessions.
Police officer Li Chengbao beat 17-year-old Zheng Yunlong. He squeezed his mouth, punched his nose, and kicked his stomach, chest and legs. Several policemen kept kicking him while he lay on the ground and didn't allow him to sleep for 24 hours.
Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zheng Fengxiang was hung up, beaten, and kicked by the police. They also used boots to beat his head and used plastic bottles to hit his eyes and temples for as long as six hours. During the process, Mr. Zheng Fengxiang lost consciousness many times. Each time the police poured cold water on him to wake him up so that they could continue the torture. Li Chengbao yelled while beating, "Remember, my name is Li Chengbao. I dare you to report me!" Later on Mr. Zheng Fengxiang was sentenced to forced labor. The police sent him to Jiutang Yingmahe Forced Labor Camp. However, Mr. Zheng Fengxiang was too weak, and the labor camp refused to admit him.

Complaints:
A. Illegal ransacking and arrests
At about 8 p. m. on July 14, 2006, eight plainclothes police officers broke into my home. Without showing any illegal documents or identifying themselves, they seized my family members and me. Only after arriving at the police station did we learn that the eight people were police officers. They also took away our Falun Gong books, our family computer and hardware, three mobile phones, more that 8,500 yuan in cash, a VCD player, 300 blank CDs, a cassette player, a Bolang learning machine, a set of English language training CDs, two sitting cushions, a pile of bills and notes, etc. They did not give us any receipts for the property they took. This seriously violates citizens' property and inheritance rights outlined in Article 13 and 39 of the constitution.
A1. Article 13 of the constitution stipulates that citizens' lawful private property is inviolable. Falun Gong books have publication permissions and lawful copyright registration numbers. They are not illegal publications. Citizens' Falun Gong books are their lawful private property and no one has the right to confiscate them. All the other items are also lawful property and are not to be confiscated either. According to Article 118 in Chapter 6 of the Criminal Procedure Law, if any seized articles, documents, mail, telegrams, or frozen deposits and remittances are proven through investigation to be truly irrelevant to a case, the seizure and freeze shall be canceled within three days, and the things shall be returned to their original owners or the original post and telecommunications offices.
A2. Wang Hongwei and his staff did not wear police uniforms, nor did they show any search warrant or legal documents to identity themselves when they broke into my home. This violated Article 39 of the constitution, which stipulates that residences of citizens are inviolable. Unlawful search of or intrusion into a citizen's residence is prohibited.
Article 111 of the Criminal Procedure Law stipulates: "When a search is to be conducted, a search warrant must be shown to the person to be searched. " My father and I were arrested at 8 p.m. on July 14, 2006. However, the detention notice of my father was issued at 10 p.m. the next day, This violated legal procedure.
B. Illegal interrogation, physical punishment and torture to extort a confession
At about 8 p. m. on July 14, 2006, I was arrested and sent to the police station. I was taken to a northern room. I sat in a chair, but Li Chengbao, the head police officer of the first section, told me to stand up. After I stood up, he ordered me to squat. I didn't think I was a criminal, so I refused. Li Chengbao squeezed my mouth, punched my nose, and kicked my legs. Then he had two policemen hold my limbs while he kicked my stomach and chest with all his strength. I was kicked again and again as I lay on the ground. He yelled while kicking me, "Damn you! Tell me!" I didn't know at all what he wanted me to tell him. I looked at him and was very frightened. He said, "If you don't tell me, I'll torture you to death!" He continued to torture me like mad, kicking me, beating me on the head, and slapping my face. My ears still cause me pain. The pain and mental pressure were beyond description.
After that I was taken to a southern room. Police officers watched me and didn't allow me to sleep for 24 hours. Their actions have violated Articles 234, 247 and 248 of the Criminal Law and Article 52 of the Law on the Protection of Minors. Their acts have amounted to the crime of extorting a confession or testimony by torture and intentional injury. According to Article 7 of the Nine Regulations of the Supreme People’s Procuratorate, anyone who extorts a confession by torture or extorts testimony from a witness by violence shall be sacked immediately before their violations are otherwise dealt with.
C. Threats and blackmail
Wang Hongwei and Li Chengbao threatened to send me to a forced labor camp and to torture me to death. I was not released until they made me to give them 1000 yuan, nor was I given a receipt for the money they robbed from me. Their actions amounted to blackmail as regulated by Article 274 of the Criminal Law Code. Their deeds also violated the following items of Article 22, Chapter 3 of People's Police Law:
4) Extorting a confession by torture or physical punishment
5) Illegally depriving or limiting people's freedom; illegally
searching people's bodies, properties, residences or premises
6) Blackmail or extorting bribes
7) Beating or goading others into beating people
8) Illegally punishment or charging fees
According to Article 48 of Chapter 6 of the Police Law, any police officer who violates the above regulations should be given administrative or criminal punishment, as well as prevented from carrying on with policing tasks. Their violent beatings and threats have deeply harmed and wounded me. I had a high temperature for many days and couldn't study or live normally. According to the Law on State Compensation, I should be compensated.
D. The suppression of Falun Gong is illegal
Falun Gong (also called Falun Dafa) is a practice with "Truth, Compassion, and Forbearance" as its core values. Since its introduction in 1992, it has benefited one hundred million people. Falun Gong practitioners are required to be good persons wherever they are. Falun Gong is beneficial to the nation and people without causing any harm.
In conclusion, Wang Hongwei, director of the Changjiang Road Police Station in Jilin Province; Li Chengbao; Mr. Yin, former chief of Changjiang Road Police Station and currently working at the 610 Office of the police department in High-Tech District; Xu Hu; Zhan Wenyou; Chen Fuqing; and Zhang Xiaoming have violated the constitution, the Criminal Law, the Criminal Procedure Law, the Law on the Protection of Minors, the Police Law, etc.
I am only a child as I am not yet 18. I hope that the judges can do me justice. All the injustices imposed on Falun Gong and me are wrong and against the law.

Mr. Liu Mingyue, 70 years old, was a government employee of the Longkou Power Supply Department of Yantai Electric Power Bureau. His wife, Ms. Liu Shuhua, was a retired worker of the Longkou Power Plant. At the end of 1992, Ms. Liu Shuhua was unable to go to work owing to severe heart disease so she retired 6 years before she qualified for retirement. She was terminally ill when she was introduced to the practice of Falun Gong. After reading only two pages of "Zhuan Falun" she said to her husband resolutely, "I will practice these exercises. It (Falun Gong) is really wonderful." Ever since then, she changed into a new person and was very energetic. On witnessing the wonders of health recovery and the power of Falun Gong, her husband also came to practice Falun Gong. Ever since then, the elderly couple set the principles of "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance" as their standards and tried to be better people at all times.
On July 20, 1999, however, the persecution of Falun Gong began, and the elderly couple was persecuted.
On that very day, Mr. Liu Mingyue's work unit informed him to go watch a video program that slandered Falun Gong and Master Li. Mr. Liu Mingyue said that the video program was all lies and requested to go appeal to let the government know the truth. He was detained by his work place for a whole day, and on the following day was sent to Yantai City Electric Power Bureau. He was guarded by seven people around the clock and lost his personal freedom. He was reprimanded every day, and therefore suffered from extreme psychological stress. He was forced to write a guarantee statement, declaring that he would not practice Falun Gong again and was detained for one month. After returning home, Wang Chenghui, the Deputy Secretary of the Political and Judicial Committee of the Longkou 610 Office and his men forced Mr. Liu to write articles to criticize Falun Gong. He would be harassed every day if he refused to write.
Mr. Liu Mingyue's wife, Ms. Liu Shuhua, was harassed by the manager of the power plant, the party secretary, and the chairmen of the trade union, all the way down to ordinary office workers. She was summoned to her work place to be reprimanded and to attend meetings, and was forced to write a guarantee statement. She was intimidated, threatened and forced to relinquish and submit her Falun Gong books. Her home was under surveillance. She could not go out -- not even to the food market. If she wanted to buy food, someone else would have to do it for her. If she was summoned to official business or to attend meetings, she was tailed. She was not allowed to leave Longkou City nor could she go to appeal for Falun Gong. Her telephone was tapped. Ms. Liu Shuhua lost her personal freedom, basic human rights, and the dignity of being a human being.
On October 16, 2000, Mr. Liu Mingyue and his wife, Ms. Liu Shuhua, were tricked into going to the guest house of the power plant by Han Ji'an, the head of the plant's security office, where they were harassed by three policemen from the Longkou City Police Department and the Longkou Township Police Station. The police officers included a female officer, Ma Shumei, and two male officers, surnamed Gao and Li. They questioned the couple very briefly and then locked them into Longkou Police Station. The depraved policemen intimidated and threatened the elderly couple for two hours without any result. After being detained for three days, they were taken to Zhangjiagou Detention Center for further persecution. The couple were handcuffed and shackled, and they were intimidated and tortured. The lawless officials threatened to torture them with four extreme methods, "stretching the muscles," "wearing an iron hat" (weighing about 20 kilos), hanging high, and electric shocking. On the following day their home was ransacked.
At about 11:30 p.m. a few days later, the police interrogated Mr. Liu Mingyue once again. A deputy director of the police department with a surname of Zou was also present. When Mr. Liu was taken to the guards' office, someone said that the elderly man would suffer from the worst torture. However, Mr. Liu remained calm and was not afraid. Several evildoers cuffed him to an iron chair. A big man came into the interrogation room. He raised his fist and punched the old man's head with force. However, it was really strange that he tried very hard, but his fist just could not touch the old man's head. The big man lost heart and did not know what was wrong. He walked out of the interrogation room. Then he argued with the interrogator, and it was getting louder and louder. They argued for more than ten minutes. That deputy director could not sit quietly anymore. He yelled, "What are you doing? Your behavior is really shocking! You are dismissed - you can go now!" The interrogation ended in the police arguing.
To achieve their goal of persecution the depraved officials collaborated with each other to extort money by means of handing down prison terms. In order to retain the title of outstanding unit, the Yantai Electric Power Bureau dined the members of the "610 Office" and gave them 20 thousand yuan in cash to split amongst themselves. Only then did the lawless officials from the 610 Office agree not to sentence the old couple. On November 11, 2000, the couple was released after being detained for 20 days and extorted 500 yuan.
On June 9, 2001, Ms. Liu Shuhua was tricked into the Xiadingjia Brainwashing Center by Zhang Deshuai, the director of the Political Department of her work place. On June 13, her husband was also taken there. In the brainwashing center, Wang Chenghui, Madaotand, and Xie Zhuangda incited the office workers to repeatedly play audio and video tapes that slandered Falun Gong. The detainees were also forced to listen to "reports" and forced to reprimand Falun Gong. They were forced to write the so-called three statements. Those who refused to write would be tortured and starved, confined in a solitary compartment, put under surveillance 24 hours-a-day, deprived of sleep, as well as physically tortured. Wang Chenghui tried many times to take his men to the Wangcun Detention Center and Judiciary Center (provincial brainwashing center) so that they could learn more tricks and methods for persecuting local practitioners. Life inside the Xiadingjia Brian-washing Center was really very hard to bear. Ms. Liu Shuhua could not sleep or eat well, so she wrote the three statements. Only then did the torture stop. During her detention, she suffered from diarrhea, besides all the additional consequences of being tortured. As a result, she was thin and pallid. She was released on July 24. Her husband, Mr. Liu Mingyue, was released one month later.
There are tens of thousands of elderly people like Mr. Liu Mingyue and Ms. Liu Shuhua suffering from persecution in China.
Ms. Yang Shengyun is an employee from the Longkou Electric Power Plant who learned the practice of Falun Gong in 1996. She set a very high standard for herself in accordance with the principles of "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance." Her family became harmonious and she received prominent achievements at work. Owing to the tremendous changes they saw in her, her colleagues and family members all started to practice Falun Gong. Ms. Yang's 6 year-old daughter became the first one to benefit from practicing the exercises. It was normally very easy for her to run a high fever; sometimes the fever would not go down, even after one week of infusion. She was diagnosed with epilepsy and relied on medicine. Despite all the medical treatment, her symptoms did not show any sign of improvement. However, after she listened to Master Li Hongzhi's lectures, her seizures never recurred. She would have a high temperature but it would come down in two hours. Ms. Yang's daughter, therefore, stopped taking any medicine thereafter. Because of this miracle, Ms. Yang's husband, sister-in-law, and nephew all started to practice Falun Gong. Later, when Ms. Yang mother-in-law found that his son changed from being a very bad-tempered person to a very gentle one and quit all his vices, the old lady began to practice Falun Gong. The whole family was bathed in the Fa's energy and become benevolent and happy.
Jiang Zemin's CCP regime began to persecute Falun Gong on July 20, 1999. Ms. Yang's family of three went to the local government to clarify the truth and were detained. When Ms. Yang was taken back by her work place, Xu Guorong, the Party Secretary, and Liu Fujing, the deputy manager of the plant, accused, intimidated, and spoke sarcastically about her. Since she insisted in continuing to practice Falun Gong, she was forced to write a letter of resignation. Since the Jiang Zemin clique compelled leaders at all levels to persecute Falun Gong, the head of a work place would be responsible and be condemned if any of the employees went to appeal for Falun Gong. Therefore, Ms. Yang was under house arrest by the so-called "help-and-teach" team, which was made up by Liu Weixi, Wang Jiaxing, Lin Rong, Cui Sibin, Leng Ailing and Huang Wei. The lawless officials forced her to relinquish Falun Gong books and materials, and to write so-called "ideological reports." They also adopted various intimidation methods. Wang Yihua, the former president of the trade union, insulted her, but she refused to cooperate with the evildoers. Liu Weixi and Wang Jiaxing forcefully dragged Ms. Yang's 70 year-old mother to a detention place. When it was midnight, the old couple was in tears. They knew their daughter did not do anything wrong and she was wrongly accused. However, in order to save their daughter from being tortured, they were on their knees begging Ms. Yang to write the guarantee statement against her own will. Despite this, Ms. Yang's home was under surveillance 24 hours-a-day. Wherever she went she would be followed. In one month she suffered all kinds of mental tribulations and really wanted to die rather than suffer these mental tortures. Luckily, she remembered that Falun Gong teachings forbid suicide, otherwise she would not be alive today. During this period of time, her work unit, as well as that of her husband's, deducted 20 percent of their bonuses. The evildoers also forced Ms. Yang's family to take note of the particulars of the slander material against Falun Gong from the evening programs of CCTV. Ms. Yang's husband and mother-in-law could not bear the suffering caused by the most wickedest scoundrel gang any more and decided to quit the exercises. A happy and harmonious family now had to live a miserable life as a result of the persecution of Falun Gong.
On May 31, 2001, Ms. Yang Shengyun was detained by Longkou Police Station for spreading truth-clarification materials and her house was ransacked. Many items were confiscated. The arrest warrant was issued after the arrest and the reason given on it was "joining superstitious sects and secret societies." This is exactly what the Chinese saying means: "If you are out to condemn someone you can always trump up a charge." She was detained at the Zhangjiagou Detention Center, where she was locked up with murderers and served terrible food. Worse still, she was interrogated frequently. After her husband and friends gave dinners or sent gifts, Ms. Yang was released more than 20 days later.
When she went to work, Zhang Deshuai, Liu Weixi, and Wang Jiaxing tried to force her to write the so-called three statements and watch video programs that slandered Falun Gong. She was on the verge of collapse, so she thought of suicide once again. However, she remembered the requirements of Falun Gong: Do not kill lives and do not commit suicide. She finally withstood all the suffering. Not long after, Ms. Yang Shengyun was escorted to Xiadingjia Brainwashing Center. Qie Zhuangda and Wang Ji'an played dirty tricks to force Ms. Yang to write the three statements while extorting 1000 yuan from the family. She was forced to take a blood test. During this period, her husband was working in other parts of the country so no one was home to take care of their child. The persecutors described their behavior as "showing concern" and "offering redemption." What nonsense! She was detained for one month and her work place deducted 20 percent of her bonus.
After returning home, the CCP authorities still made phone calls to
harass her, even at midnight. Her normal life was ruined and she
suffered a great deal mentally.

Because of my belief in "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance," I was arrested in 2001 and detained in Shulan City Detention Center in Jilin Province. In order to regain my freedom, I started a hunger strike on the fifth day of the illegal detention. The director of the detention center, Zhuang Runjiang, took a "small white dragon" (a white plastic tube about 20 centimeters long and one inch thick with sharp edges) and ordered the prisoners to pull me from my cell and drag me into a small meeting room. While a group of prisoners held me down the ground, Zhuang stepped on my head with his shoes and started cursing loudly.
Five or six prisoners held me down, and I could not move at all. Some of them pinched my nose and pried open my tightly closed teeth. Zhuang stuck that sharp "small white dragon" with dirt on it into my mouth. Blood immediately flew out of my mouth. Doctor Chen of the detention center hospital, who participated in the forced-feeding, dropped his cellphone out of his shirt pocket into a basin of water. He panicked while preparing the water for him to wash his own hands after the feed.
The doctor at the detention center didn't care about my critical condition caused by the illegal procedure of force-feeding. He was more concerned about his cellphone than me. He took his cellphone out of the water, cleaned it, wiped it off, and shook it.
At that time I was being force-fed. Because they thought that I would not voluntarily swallow the "corn paste," they tightly covered my nose, which stopped me from breathing, and poured the "corn paste" into the tube stuck into my mouth. I could not breathe since my mouth was jammed and my arms and legs were held tight. I stopped breathing with my eyes open.
My eyes started to bulge, the blood vessels started pounding,
and my brain was severely deprived of oxygen.
I started to use all my strength and was able to shift my head under Zhuang's shoe. Zhuang unexpectedly moved his shoe from my head. I struggled to escape the hands on my nose and the tube in my mouth. I had started to vomit blood with the corn paste onto my face, my body, and the floor.
I understood now: those Falun Gong practitioners who were persecuted during force-feeding died of this torture. In order to conceal their crimes, they claimed that the practitioners had died as a result of their hunger strikes. The 19-year-old girl, Chu Congrui, from Shulan City, Jilin Province, was detained in Tiananmen Police Station of Beijing City. Her family received a death notice on the fifth day of her detention. The true reason for her death has been concealed.
Such horrible, brutal torture! The CCP and its accomplices don't value the lives of practitioners as much as their cellphones. That doctor from the detention center was still playing with his cellphone when I got up from the floor. However, had I died, he would have written "This person died as a result of a hunger strike" on the medical report.
The "small white dragon" injured my throat. My throat was swollen and sore for a long time. This kind of inhumane torture was only a small sample of the multitude of brutal acts taking place in China's detention centers, labor camps, prisons, and brainwashing centers.
Kind people, let us appeal together to stop this persecution
towards the good people who believe in "Truthfulness, Compassion,
Forbearance."

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Liu Zhenying, in her fifties, lived in the first group of the 31st Neighborhood Administration, Dongshan District, Hegang City, Heilongjiang Province. All of her illnesses were cured after practicing Falun Gong. She was illegally arrested on April 22, 2002 from her home by policemen from Gongren Village Station, and was detained in Hegang City Detention Center. She was sentenced to three years of forced labor at Xigemu Labor Camp in Jiamusi City. Ms. Liu's illnesses recurred due to the torture she suffered, and she was released in August 2003. She died in November 2003.
Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Liu Lanying, 60, lived in Yunmeng County, Hubei Province. She had many diseases before she practiced Falun Gong. Since she began practicing Falun Gong in 1996, she was restored to perfect health. In July 2000, Ms. Liu Lanying was arrested by policemen from Chengguan Station, and was detained in Yunmeng County Detention Center, where she was brutally tortured. After several days on a hunger strike to protest the persecution, she became very weak and her physical and mental health were severely damaged. Ms. Liu was very sick after being released, and could not take care of herself. Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials still came to her home to harass her. She died on April 30, 2001.
Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Wang Zuiliang, 69, lived in Fuguanzhuang Township, Yishui County, Shandong Province. He had been threatened, and was living under a lot of pressure the past several years due to the CCP persecution of Falun Gong. On July 20, 1999, the Township CCP committee sent people to ransack his home, and forced him to write a guarantee statement to quit practicing. Ever since then, the CCP officials continuously went to his home or called him on the phone to harass him. Mr. Wang was detained in the Township Office compound for seven days around July 20, 2001. At the end of September 2005, he was cornered on the street by CCP officials, and they forced him to write a guarantee statement again. Ever since then, his physical condition worsened, and he died on April 7, 2006.
Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Gu Bengen, 59, was an employee of
the Linpan Oil Field located in Linyi County, Shandong Province. He
used to have an infection in his esophagus, an ulcer, and enteritis,
among other ailments. After starting practicing Falun Gong at the end
of 1996,
he quickly recovered from all of his illnesses. Mr. Gu was detained for
seven days after July 20, 1999, and detained one month in October 2000
by CCP officials with the excuse of "preventing him from going to
Beijing to appeal." Later, he was forcibly taken to a brainwashing
center for five months. During this five-month period, Mr. Gu's salary
and bonus were withheld for six months, and the CCP officials extorted
30,000 yuan
from him. He was constantly harassed by CCP officials. They either went
to his home or called him on the phone, which severely interfered with
his studying Falun Gong teachings and
doing the Falun Gong exercises. As a result of the relentless
persecution, Gu Bengen died on September 1, 2006.
