On January 27th, 2005, UK Falun Gong practitioners held a press conference in front of the Chinese Embassy in London to condemn the surprise attack by a man from the Chinese Embassy against a female Falun Gong practitioner. They also condemned the hatred, lies, and persecution of Falun Gong exported by the Chinese Communist Party in a democratic country.
In the late evening on January 24th 2005, Yudong Gao, a British female Falun Gong practitioner who works as a financial specialist for an investment bank, went to the Chinese Embassy in London after dinner to protest against the Chinese Communist Party's cruel persecution of Falun Gong. At about 9 pm, Yudong Gao was alone. A Chinese man walked out the Chinese Embassy and suddenly threw a cup of liquor over her face from behind. He also kicked her with considerable force. She turned around and asked calmly, "Why did you do that?" The man yelled at her. She stood up right away, called the policeman on duty across the street and walked toward the policeman. The man ran after her and struck her in the head. Yudong Kao almost fell down. The policeman arrived at this point, subdued the man, and arrested him immediately. The entire process was captured by the 24-hour video camera of the Royal Institute of British Architecture. The London Metropolitan Police kept the tape as evidence.
Mrs. Gao said at a press conference, "I do not know the man, nor do we have any dispute. Why did he attack me, a woman who was sitting peacefully? It is the lies spread and incited by the Communist Party that stirred up this hatred toward Falun Gong practitioners by those who are not clear about Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. On one hand, the Communist Party cruelly persecute Falun Gong practitioners with hundreds of torture methods in the labour camps; on the other hand, the communist regime fabricates lies to slander Falun Gong, such as the immolation in Tiananmen Square, which the Chinese media then uses to instigate the hatred of those not clear about Falun Gong."
The chairman of the UK Falun Dafa Association Peter Jauhal said, "We know that the Chinese Communist Embassy has been angry at Falun Gong practitioners about the three-year consecutive peaceful protest in front of the Chinese Embassy in London. We strongly protest against the Chinese Communists' export of the persecution of Falun Gong to the U.K."

On February 1, 2006, a hearing was held in the Supreme Court of New South Wales in the lawsuit against Zhang Dejiang filed by Sydney Falun Gong practitioner Xie Yan. It was the first hearing for this case and the defendant was absent. The judge listened to the explanation of the plaintiff's lawyer and decided to continue the legal proceedings. The second hearing was scheduled for June 2, 2006. After the first hearing, practitioners held a press conference in front of the Supreme Court about legal proceedings against persons responsible for the persecution of practitioners in China. They pointed out that though the defendants refuse to respond to the summons, practitioners will prepare carefully and explain the facts in depth. They are asking the court to hold a trial in default and bring Jiang and other criminals of the persecution to justice.
The Sydney Morning Herald, The Australian and other major local media attended the hearing and press conference and interviewed the practitioners.

A Falun Gong spokesperson presided over the press conference and discussed the progress on several lawsuits that practitioners have filed to seek justice, and stop the persecution and hate propaganda of the CCP. Besides the lawsuit against Zhang Dejiang filed by Xie Yan, at the end of March the Supreme Court will hold its second hearing on the lawsuit against Jiang Zemin, the chief culprit of the persecution, who has been sued by Zhang Cuiying. At the beginning of April, a libel lawsuit against a local Chinese media will also be heard in court. The Chinese media, under pressure and instigation of the Chinese Consulate, slandered Falun Gong.
Ms. Xie Yan explained why she sued Zhang Dejiang and described her suffering physically and mentally when she was imprisoned in a labor camp in Guangdong for two and a half years and then detained in brainwashing centers. She witnessed a practitioner being tortured to disability and the death of a pregnant woman practitioner in the same brainwashing center. Ms. Xie said that there were more than 60 documented deaths of practitioners due to police brutality in Guangdong Province and that half of them occurred after Zhang Dejiang took power. Zhang is responsible for the persecution and actively carries out the persecution policy in Guangdong Province.
Ms. Xie said that practitioners in China have no place to file complaints and that righteous lawyers who would like to seek justice for the practitioners are being persecuted by the CCP regime. For example, lawyer Guo Guodin was forced into exile, lawyer Yang Zaixin's license was suspended and renowned lawyer Gao Zhisheng's office was shut down. Ms. Xie said that she has the right to bring Zhang Dejiang to justice in Australia and let the world know the truth, since she lives in a free country.
WOIPFG: The Persecution Is Destroying Human Spirituality and Basic Conscience
At the press conference, a representative from the World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong (WOIPFG) said that the mission of WOIPFG is to safeguard Falun Gong practitioners' basic human rights. WOIPFG has conducted investigations on a large scale and in depth on the CCP regime's persecution of Falun Gong. It was concluded that the persecution is the worst human rights disaster since World War II. Zhang Dejiang, in leading the Guangdong government, has cooperated with and promoted actively the persecution and he is responsible for the crimes committed in the persecution.
For the international community, it is very important to recognize the huge size and scope of the CCP's persecution of Falun Gong, and that the persecution is destroying people's spirituality and basic conscience.
Australian Chinese artist, Falun Gong practitioner Zhang Cuiying also gave a speech at the press conference and talked about the progress of her lawsuit against Jiang Zemin. The lawsuit is being processed in the Supreme Court and will have a hearing at the end of March. She learned that Jiang's faction was very worried and were pressuring the Australian government to attempt to block the lawsuit. Ms. Zhang called on the media to pay attention to the lawsuit against the Foreign Minister in Canberra for his signing monthly certificates to restrict practitioners from holding banners in their protests at the Chinese Embassy.
Background of lawsuit against Zhang Dejiang
On November 7, 2005, Zhang Dejiang led commerce delegates to participate in the China Guangdong-Australian Business Conference 2005. Ms. Xie Yan sued him for his crime of torture. On November 8, the lawsuit papers were handed to Zhang Dejiang.

Since the end of December 2005, Malaysian practitioners have been peacefully protesting in front of the Chinese Embassy every day. Every morning and evening they practice the Falun Gong exercises to peacefully protest the ongoing brutality and call the public's attention to it.
Since the activity began, practitioners have encountered all kinds of difficulties. During the early days of this activity, it would start to rain when practitioners had just started their peaceful protest. Sometimes it only rained at the Embassy and nearby area. Later, security personnel at the Embassy repeatedly called police to disperse the practitioners. Whenever the police came to interfere, practitioners would explain to them why they came to protest. The practitioners told the police officers that they would protest every day until the persecution ends.
Once, the Chinese Ambassador's limousine passed by. Staff members of the Embassy requested that police officers disperse the practitioners. The officers said that the practitioners didn't violate any laws and protesting was their right, and refused to do so.
Later, due to the Embassy's pressure to higher-level authorities, the police was forced to interfere with the practitioners' protest again and said that they could only take action if practitioners continue to protest. Practitioners then went to the police bureau to clarify the truth to high-ranking officials, telling them that they were determined to continue the protest. Eventually, the practitioners were able to continue.
When they learned that the practitioners' protest has been consistently peaceful and rational, the police authorities were moved by their uncompromising spirit.
Some police officers were concerned for the practitioners' health,
as they
often protested in rainy weather. Every day many drivers of passing
vehicles
would sound their horns or raise their thumbs to encourage the
practitioners and
express their support.

From January 23 to 28, the annual World Economic Forum convened at the famous Swiss ski resort, Davos. Some practitioners clarified truth to forum participants and media and exposed the Chinese Communist regime's brutal persecution of Falun Gong to tourists and local residents. In addition, they attended an event sponsored by the Epoch Times newspaper in support of more than 7.5 million people withdrawing from the CCP (Chinese Communist Party).
Since the Epoch Times published their editorial "Nine Commentaries on the Chinese Communist Party" at the end of 2004, more and more people started to understand the CCP's evil nature. The persecution by the CCP of Falun Gong practitioners who believe in "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance", which has now lasted for more than six years, is the strongest evidence that it persecutes good people.
The practitioners' banners drew the attention of many people. The pictures showed the torture Falun Gong practitioners endure gave details on specific cases. A lot of people expressed that they couldn't imagine or understand how this inhuman thing could still be happening today. Just as in previous years, the media took pictures of the information stand, as well as the practitioners' Falun Gong exercises demonstration.

"I Want to Sign"
Visitors sign their names to support people in quitting the CCP and call for an end to the persecution
After viewing all the torture exhibition pictures on the roadside, a lady went to the information stand and asked, "Do you collect signatures? I want to sign. I will sign my name on any petition of yours. This is too brutal."
Since 2003, Falun Gong practitioners have set up information stands every year and distributed leaflets. In 2005, they held an anti-torture exhibition. Many local people have understood the truth about Falun Gong. The practitioners recommend them to read the "Nine Commentaries on the Chinese Communist Party" so as to have a better understanding of the real reasons why the CCP persecutes Falun Gong: The evil CCP's deceptive, wicked and violent nature dictate that they cannot tolerate people living according to truthfulness, compassion and forbearance, nor tolerate people having their own beliefs. While signing to support the withdrawal from the CCP, a gentleman said, "I also signed my name last year. I'll sign my name every year."
This activity lasted for a week. As a result, during the last several days many passersby would say that they already had a leaflet and that they had already signed their names. Some would tell us, "I've read through the material." When a lady was asked if she would like to sign in support, she said, "I've signed already. But if it were possible, I would like to sign ten times."
"Jiang Zemin should go to jail"
A local elderly woman spoke with the practitioners many times. On the last day, she pointed to the picture of Jiang Zemin and said, "This person is so bad and being sued in so many countries in the world. Why isn't he in jail?" The practitioner told her that because Jiang Zemin hides in China and China is still being controlled by the Chinese Communist Party. The elderly woman continued, saying, "Then you should let all China's neighboring countries know Jiang's crimes so that he would be arrested if he ever leaves China."
"I hope you won't need to come here for this reason next year"
Many people told the practitioners, "You've done well. I support you. Keep it up!" Some people gave snacks to us. A gentleman said: "I know the CCP violates human rights. What you have done is great and I support you. But I hope you won't need to come here for this reason next year."
