The Facts of the Persecution of Falun
Gong -- February 19, 2006
Issued by Clearwisdom Net
Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Liu Guoxing from the Jiulongpo District of Chongqing City was illegally arrested for the second time by police on October 1, 2005. After the arrest, he was taken to the Baimayi Brainwashing Center of Jiulongpo District, where he was tortured into a state of mental instability and he experienced frequent fainting episodes. On January 30, 2006, at some point after being released from the brainwashing center, Mr. Liu lost consciousness and fell into a ditch four meters deep. Sadly, he passed away on February 5, 2006.
Mr. Liu Guoxing, in his 50s, lived in the No. 12 Village of Tianchi Village, Shiban Township, Jiulongpo District of Chongqing City. He suffered from polio when he was young and both of his legs were disabled. As he grew older, his physical condition was poor and he suffered from constant headaches. After Mr. Liu started to practice Falun Gong, his health condition improved greatly.
A year and a half after the Communist party started to persecute Falun Gong, Liu Guoxing was arrested from his home by police from the Shiban Township Police Station of Jiulongpo District. In January 2001, he was taken to the Baimayi Hehuachi Brainwashing Center of Jiulongpo District, where he was tortured. One month later, he was taken to the Jiulongpo District Detention Center where the torture continued and his life was endangered. After Mr. Liu was released, he continued to practice Falun Gong and regained his health.
On October 1, 2005, Mr. Liu Guoxing was arrested by police from the local police station and taken to the Baimayi Brainwashing Center of Jiulongpo District, where he was again tortured. During this period of time, the Chief of the Shiban Township Police Station, He Ping (male), brutally beat him.
After Mr. Liu Guoxing was released from the brainwashing center, his physical condition was very weak, he was mentally unstable, and he fainted frequently. On the afternoon of January 30, 2006, he fainted and fell into a four-meter-deep ditch. He passed away on February 5, 2006.
Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Li Ping, 48, from Dalian City, Liaoning Province, died on November 27, 2005 due to long term persecution by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) (For more information, see /emh/articles/2005/12/19/68077.html).
In October 2000, Ms. Li Ping was sentenced to 3 years of forced labor after going to Beijing to appeal on behalf of Falun Gong, and was detained in the Yaojia Detention Center, Dalian City Forced Labor Camp and Masanjia Labor Camp in Shenyang City. In July 2002, Ms. Li was released on medical parole. She was arrested in February 2003 when found clarifying the truth. Ms. Li was detained in the Yaojia Detention Center and Dalian City Forced Labor Camp, and was released on medical parole in August 2003.
After getting out the second time on medical parole, Li Ping was emaciated as a result of suffering cruel torture. The torture she suffered included the following: being hung up (1), being forced to sit on the tiger bench, being shocked with electric batons, being deprived of sleep, being sprayed with cold water in the winter, being covered with three comforters in the summer, being exposed to the elements where swarms of mosquitoes could bite her, having bugs placed on her body, having her hair shaved off, having her pubic hair pulled out, suffering sexual assault, being left inside an apple packing box for several days, having her mouth forced open with a mop handle when she was on hunger strike and thereby knocking out 3 of her teeth, being force-fed and having the feeding tubes left in for an entire week. These tortures caused external and internal bleeding and resulted in terrible injury to her body. During the second term of forced labor, Ms. Li was locked in a metal cage within a small cell and had to lie on the floor.
Starting from September 2005, Ms. Li Ping's body began to fail because of the torture she endured. She was coughing, could not eat, and her weight fell from 120 pounds to 80-90 pounds. She died on November 27, 2005.
(1) There are two forms of this kind of torture: The first involves handcuffing both wrists behind the back and the victim is hung by a rope that is tied to a metal window frame, with only the toes touching the ground. The second variation involves handcuffing one hand of a practitioner to a bunk bed and the other hand to another bed, with the two beds pulled in opposite directions. The victim suffers excruciating pain as the body is pulled. See illustrations at /emh/articles/2004/11/17/54624.html.
Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Song Ailian from Dalian City was tortured for over one year while she was illegally detained at the Masanji Forced Labor Camp. She returned home in a dignified manner in early December 2005.
In October 2004, Song Ailian was transferred from Dalian Forced Labor Camp to the Fourth Group of Masanjia Forced Labor Camp. On October 28, 2004, Ms. Song refused to cooperate with the unreasonable demands of the guards, refused to do the labor camp exercises, and refused to wear the labor camp uniform. For this, she was confined in a small water boiler room for over a month. Because she helped fellow practitioners to appeal for Falun Gong, Ms. Song was attacked, pushed and dragged by a group of labor camp guards. The group heads, Wang Xiaofeng, Cui Hong, and several male guards locked her in a small room. Warden Wang Xiaofeng grabbed her hair and four guards beat her. Song Ailian was in solitary confinement for eleven days, and her term in the forced labor camp was extended by three months.
In late March 2005, to further persecute Falun Gong practitioners, Masajia Forced Labor camp classified Falun Gong practitioners into several categories. The 1st Group adopted the "completely sealed management," and any contact from outside the labor camp was prohibited. The practitioners were not allowed to come down to the first floor even during meals, and they had no hot water. They could only drink cold water [note: in China, especially in prison, the cold tap water is not sanitary and not suitable for drinking] and take cold baths. The practitioners collectively protested against the persecution. Beginning on April 1, they all went on a hunger strike. All the guards were mobilized to force-feed practitioners, which is really a method of further persecution. Over ten people forcibly fed one practitioner. The food was corn porridge mixed with unknown substances.
Early in April, Song Ailian recited Falun Gong articles together with other practitioners. Cui Hong and Li Mingyu brought her to the office of the labor camp and tried to make a written statement. Song Ailian refused to cooperate with them. The guards kicked and punched her and handcuffed her to the radiators. When she shouted "Falun Dafa is great," they sealed her mouth with tape.
On July 1, Song Ailian and other practitioners sent forth righteous thoughts and did the Falun Gong exercises together. Song Ailian was put in a storage room on the second floor for two days. On July 4, Cui Hong, Xie (surname not known), Gao (surname not known), and Zhong (surname not known) put Song Ailian in a small room for eight days of solitary confinement.
The guards at the Masajia Forced Labor Camp also persecuted Falun Gong practitioners using fabricated confessions. For example, Cui Hong and Huang Haiyan and other police pretended to be Falun Gong practitioners and fabricated written confessions. They put their own fingerprints on the confessions as if they were fingerprints of Falun Gong practitioners.
Ms. Song Ailian walked out of the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp on
December 1,
2005.
I was once detained in the same prison as a practitioner named Li Huimin. Today I was saddened to hear that Li Huimin died as a result of the torture he was subjected to at the Jidong Prison in Hebei Province.
I would like to reveal to the world the inside story of Li Huimin's ordeal so that all kind-hearted people can clearly see the vicious nature of the Chinese Communist Party, and quit all of its affiliated organizations as soon as possible.
In August and September 2001, the Number 1 Branch of the Jidong Prison escalated their efforts to persecute the Falun Gong practitioners who were illegally detained there. Since Li Huimin resisted the persecution at the prison, the guards placed him in a small cell. Two officers at the prison, one named Zhang Fuliang and the other named Li Junlu, incited the prisoners to whip and beat Li Huimin on his eyes with a newspaper. They applied mentholated ointment to his eyes, which was very painful, and wouldn't let him sleep. He was kept in handcuffs. Despite this brutal treatment, Li Huimin refused to give up his belief in Falun Gong.
Those involved in persecuting Li Huimin include the Political Commissar of the Jidong Prison whose name is Peng, the Education Section of the Jidong Prison, the Secretary General of the Number 1 Branch of Jidong Prison named Hu, Chen Xijiao, the Chief of the Number 1 Branch Prison, Zhang Fuliang of the Education Section of the Number 1 Branch Prison, a person named Xing from the Surveillance Section, Li Junlu from the Political Section of the Number 1 Branch, a guard named Lu and the prisoners of the Surveillance Section. One of the prisoners is named Leng Zhonghou.
On December 13, 2001, in order to force Li Huimin to write "the five statements" (similar to the three statements), officers Chen Xijiao and Li Junlu of the Number 1 Branch Prison again placed Li Huimin in the small cell. There was no heat in the small cell, and Li Huimin had to sleep on the wooden floor. He was handcuffed, and whenever he went to the bathroom there were four or five prisoners with him. When he went back, the prisoners would remove Li Huimin's shirt and pants, claiming that they were searching him.
One day, when Li Huimin refused to eat, a guard named Lu shoved a piece of steamed cornbread into Li Huimin's mouth. They pinched Mr. Li's nose so that he could barely breathe. That time, the authorities jailed Li Huimin for more than two weeks. All he was given to eat each day was a piece of bread and a piece of pickle about two centimeters square.
Li Huimin has left us. Now it's our responsibility to stop this evil persecution.
Currently, 40 Falun Gong practitioners are illegally detained at Wumaping Prison in Muquan County, Leshan City, Sichuan Province. The guards in the prison have held brainwashing sessions since October 2004 up until today. Currently, 20 practitioners are still being persecuted in this brainwashing center.
The prison guards try to force the practitioners to renounce Falun Gong by using corporal punishment, including beating them with electric batons, and sleep deprivation. They constantly try to brainwash the practitioners with lies. Of the many steadfast practitioners there, three are being seriously persecuted. After medical examinations at the hospital, it was documented that the practitioners' hearts, brains, and kidneys have been seriously injured. If they continue to be tortured, their lives will be endangered. The prison is afraid of having to bear responsibility for the practitioners' health and has applied for their release on "medical bail." However, since the local police stations are unwilling to cooperate with the prison, these practitioners are still in the prison's clinic. The names of the practitioners are as follows:
Zhu Xuezhi, 67 years old, persecuted by the Caotang Police Station
in the
Qingyang Area, Chengdu City.
