Early in March 2006, the victim of the Zhuozhou City rape case, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Liu Jizhi, and her daughter were arrested in Fengtai District, Beijing by Zhuozhou City610 Office and State Security Agents. The Chinese Communist Party's (CCP's) inhuman behavior has apparently angered the heavens, as the weather in Zhuozhou City suddenly changed.
On March 10, the sky above Zhuozhou City turned yellow and grey and a sandstorm covered the area during the night. Many billboards and electricity poles were broken in half or fell to the ground. The storm blinded people's eyes and brought grief to the spring season in Zhuozhou City.
There is a famous story about snow in June over the injustice done to Dou E (1). Today, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Liu Jizhi cannot find justice anywhere after being raped in police custody. Instead, she was arrested. Ms. Liu Jizhi is a farm worker who lives in Zhuozhou City, Hebei Province. Just because she refused to give up her faith in Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance, she was arrested and tortured by policemen from the Dongchengfang Town Station. On November 24, 2005, she was raped by policeman He Xuwjian. Soon after, another Falun Gong practitioner, Ms. Han Yuzhi, was also raped by He Xuejian. Both of their families were also extorted out of three thousand yuan after the incidents. Because Ms. Liu Jizhi revealed the evil crimes to the world, the CCP regime secretly put her on the wanted list with a ten-thousand-yuan reward.
On March 11, 2006, ten days before Chun-fen (middle of spring) season, a huge snowstorm fell on Zhuozhou City. There hasn't been such a large snowfall all year. This unseasonable snow made people think of grievances - a grievance so huge that it angered the heavens. The principles of heaven are clear: good will be rewarded with good, and evil will be met with retribution. We are here to persuade those 610 Office and State Security Agents who are helping the evil for petty personal gains to immediately stop doing things against your conscience. You are also a member of a family, why are you committing such inhumane crimes? You should pull back before it is too late, if you still have any conscience left.
We hereby call on all kind-hearted people, especially the people in Zhuozhou City, to extend your helping hands, demand the release of Ms. Liu Jizhi and her daughter now, and stop the persecution of innocent people.

Longjiawan Law (Training) School located in Lanzhou City of Gansu Province is responsible for torturing Ms. Luo Qingshu, a Falun Gong practitioner who is 70-year-old. She was once handcuffed and hung-up for as long as 12 days and nights. A police officer named Qi once yelled at her, "You are against the Chinese Communist Party [CCP]. You say I have handcuffed you and hung you up five times. Then I will handcuff you and hang you up ten times, one hundred times. I will peel off your skin and pull out your tendons. You are such a stubborn person. You are not afraid of being beheaded." Qi told others, "Nobody [is allowed to] give her anything to eat. Handcuff her and hang her up." After saying that, he slapped her face violently. The elderly woman's nose and mouth became swollen and bloody.
On February 22, 2005, Ms. Luo Qingshu was illegally arrested by the Tuanjiexincun Police Station when she was clarifying the truth. She was illegally detained at Taoshuping Detention Center for 15 days. On March 8, two people from the police station, along with Liu Jianya from the company where Luo Qingshu was working, illegally sent Ms. Luo to a brainwashing center located at Longjiawan in Lanzhou City. This brainwashing center is known to the public as Longjiawan Law (Training) School of Lanzhou City, but it is actually a concentration camp that was set up especially for persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. The center has two buildings, one for solitary confinement, and one for indoctrination. It is said that there are around 700 policemen stationed there. The solitary confinement area was set up specifically for persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. The door is made of steel bars especially designed for handcuffing people. Inside the confinement room, there is nothing but a toilet. The floor is made of cement, and practitioners have no choice but to sit on the ground.
When Luo Qingshu was first sent to the concentration camp, it was right after two big snowfalls. The first snow lasted for three days and nights, and the second, two days and nights. The temperature inside the camp was well below the freezing point, yet with her strong righteous thoughts and actions, Teacher was able to protect Ms. Luo and she did not suffer any ill effects. While kept in solitary confinement, no one is allowed to wash their face or meet with relatives. Meals are handed out by supervisors. Each day, the supervisors in charge vary, but no matter who the supervisor is, he or she usually tries different means to "transform" the practitioners in hopes of getting a reward or bonus from their higher-ups. Supervisors can include policemen, doctors, officials, security guards, government officials, etc. They took turns around the clock watching Luo Shuqing and other practitioners to make sure that they did not practice Falun Gong exercises. From time to time, they tried to force practitioners to write the three statements and otherwise tried to "transform" them.
Luo Shuqing was handcuffed and hung up for the first time after being placed in solitary confinement. She was forced to stand with her back against the steel door with her two hands sticking out from two holes in the door, which were then handcuffed behind her back. She was allowed only 10 minutes for a meal, and five minutes to use the toilet. She was not allowed to drink water or sleep. If she started dozing, the guards would violently beat her on the back or pinch her back. They would say to her, "How are you now? Get 'transformed!' Consider it." Luo Shuqing was forced to stand day and night. As a result, her feet swelled so much that she couldn't put her shoes on, and her legs also swelled so much that she couldn't take her pants off. Due to the swelling, the skin on her legs was stretched so tight that it was shiny. In addition, Ms. Luo couldn't bend her legs or sit down. There were large and deep wounds on her calves and inside her thighs, and her hands were so swollen that she could no longer bend her fingers. Her physical condition made it very difficult for Ms. Luo to eat.
Even when she was handcuffed, Luo Qingshu never stopped telling people the facts about Falun Gong and the persecution. She was surprised to discover that people were not familiar with the facts. Some policemen demanded, "Where did you get this information?" She informed them about international laws and said, "The Chinese Constitution stipulates that no ruling should be given to a person over 70 years old. But you are so cruel to me. Do you know that you are violating the law? I'm a practitioner of 'Truthfulness, Benevolence, Forbearance.' I am a good person."
When Ms. Luo was finally released from the handcuffs, she began to recover. The swelling gradually dissipated and the skin on her legs sloughed off in pieces. Some pieces were as big as a fingernail. However, when her legs were no longer swollen, she was handcuffed again. Her health then began to deteriorate again. As long as Luo Qingshu refused to be "transformed" and write the three statements, she was repeatedly handcuffed.
Many guards told her, "If you don't accept 'transformation,' you will never be released from this detention center. Eventually you will die here." Luo Qingshu said, "This is not the place for a human being. I will not be 'transformed' because what I am practicing is the most righteous Fa. I am here to correct all that is not righteous. How can I write something for the evil?"
Several times when Luo Qingshu was handcuffed, she lost consciousness and lost control over her bowels and bladder. The supervisors then put her down and ordered her to clean up the urine and excrement herself after she regained consciousness. The doctors tried to give her an injection against her will. Although many guards tied her onto a bed board, she was able to remove the needle with her supernormal powers. The policemen kept cursing her and saying, "Why you are so troublesome?"
Some policemen said, "Old lady Luo cannot make it any more. She weighs less than 35 kg (77 lbs). She is so skinny and even unable to straighten her back. She will die if she is handcuffed another two times." Ms. Luo said, "Live without pursuit, die without regrets. If someone does not fear death, even the evil will be afraid of him." With this statement, the guards were unable to say a word, so instead they sent her to another building, the law school. All of the Falun Gong practitioners detained there had written the three statements due to the severe pressure of the persecution. Luo Qingshu was the only one who didn't write the three statements, so she was persecuted more severely because she was not "transformed." The two inmates assigned to monitor her lived in the same room with her. Day and night they followed her around, even when she went to the toilet or sink.
Luo Qingshu thought to herself, "I should change this situation, because right now it looks like the evil is controlling the righteous. This is not right. I should get control over the evil forces with my righteous force. The more they are against me practicing Falun Gong, the more I should practice." With this thought, Ms. Luo started practicing the exercises right in front of the policemen and where there were a lot of people in the corridor. The places where there were the most people is where she would clarify the truth or practice the Falun Gong exercises. She appealed to police officer Qi many times to allow her to practice the exercises, but he beat and kicked her as a response. All of the policemen beat her so violently that Luo Qingshu's entire body was covered with bruises. Her hands were also black. Her bones were sticking out of her skin and the jabbing felt like she was constantly being stabbed with needles. After the policemen beat Ms. Luo, they handcuffed her.
In mid-August, the supervisors asked Ms. Luo to join a gathering at the camp, but she refused. As usual, she never took part in any of their activities. The supervisors said, "If you don't go to the mid-August party, our salary and bonus will be deducted. There will be no moon cakes or fruits for us. You cannot be so selfish. What kind of a good person are you?" Many doctors criticized Ms. Luo, "If you continue like this, we will lose all of our salary and bonuses. What are we supposed to eat? When it's Mid-Autumn festival day, we will carry you to the party." She then said, "Ok, I will go, but they should allow me to yell, 'Falun Dafa is good. Truthfulness, Benevolence, Forbearance' is good, and, 'Restore our Teacher's good name.'" Police officer Qi got angry and said, "Put her back into confinement." Ms. Luo was handcuffed and put into solitary confinement again. Later, the police found out she was on a hunger strike in protest. They began to force-feed her by tying her to the bed board, but Luo Qingshu removed the feeding tubes with her supernormal abilities. The guards hated her so much that they keep swearing and cursing at her.
After several days of being handcuffed, Luo Qingshu lost consciousness again and was sent to the hospital. When she regained consciousness she strongly refused to take any infusions, injections or pills. She said, "I'm a cultivator. I'm not ill." The chief doctor said, "When you first arrived, your hemoglobin level was only 3.4 g and your blood pressure was 70." She clarified the truth to them, explaining the facts of Falun Gong to whoever came to her. Because the perpetrators could not do anything to someone who did not fear death at all, and since they knew that her health was in extreme danger, the camp finally gave up trying to "transform" her. However, they refused to pay her fee for the hospitalization and ordered her workplace to pay instead. Police officer Qi yelled insanely at her, "Luo Qingshu, you go back home!" A female law official also yelled at her, "Luo Qingshu, you go back home!" The evil was unable to do anything to her any more.
The brainwashing center called the local officials of Tuanjiexin Village, who then called Luo Qingshu's workplace and asked them to pay for Luo Qingshu's hospital fee. The workplace notified her family to prepare for her funeral. A picture was prepared for her funeral service.
On October 17, Luo Qingshu was carried out from the emergency room and sent back home in an ambulance. She couldn't move any part of her body, not even her head. Her excrement was black, and she continued to have this kind of excrement for 12 days. Even in such a condition, the police asked her workplace to keep an eye on her. Her workplace said, "You had so many people working 24-hours-a-day to try to 'transform' her, yet you failed to succeed. How can we keep an eye on her? We cannot do that!"
Luo Qingshu continued to steadfastly believe in Teacher and the Fa. ss again. fed, Luo Qingshu lost her consciousness again. her so much taht ed board. consciousness. She listened to and read Teacher's lectures and the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party even when she couldn't move. When she was able to sit up, she did the fifth exercise (the sitting meditation) while leaning against a table. Thus, she recovered very quickly. The evil forces failed to reach their goal of destroying her.
Postscript: Luo Qingshu's workplace gave Gongjiawan Brainwashing Center 23,000 yuan for her hospital treatment. Now the money is being deducted from her pension and from her daughter's salary every month.
Ms. Liu Ying lived in the Qinglong neighborhood in the Chenghua District of Chengdu City, Sichuan Province. The 610 Office personnel have illegally arrested her many times.
They injected her with drugs causing her to become mentally disordered and unable to take care of herself. On February 20, 2006, personnel from the district 610 Office and the local self-governing authority got together in a meeting. The next day, they went with the police from the Qinglong 610 Office and the local police department to Ms. Liu's home and arrested her, together with the two practitioners who were taking care of her at her home.
Witnesses say a dozen or so policemen came in police cars asking where Ms. Liu was. Because she could not take care of herself and her parents had to care for her baby, two fellow practitioners were there to help take care of her. All three were arrested at the same time and no one currently knows their whereabouts.
On June 28, 2005, police from the Qinglong Police Department ransacked Ms. Liu's home and arrested her. They took her to a farmhouse that had a sign saying, "Chenghua District Law and Order Center" (official term for a brainwashing center) on the door. Ms. Liu went on a hunger strike in protest and was taken to Qingyang District Court. She was injected with an unknown substance and was in critical condition, forcing them to let her go on July 19. At the time of her release, Ms. Liu was having auditory hallucinations and was in unstable condition.
Ms. Liu went missing in September 2005 for a second time. In January 2006, her father went to Qinglong Police Department and asked policeman Weng Kai for information about his daughter. Weng told him, "I don't know. She is not a criminal offender and it should not be the business of the police department. But I heard that she might be kept on Panda Boulevard." Her father was unable to do anything. He finally found Zhang Fumin, the head of the 610 Office in Qinglong Town. Zhang would not give him a straight answer either and said that he needed to ask higher authorities for permission to say anything.
Under constant pressure from Ms. Liu's father, the 610 Office finally agreed to release her. By the time of her release, seven or eight people from the 610 Office, the local self-governing authority, and the police department had been involved in her case. Weng Kai had arrested Ms. Liu in September 2005 and had kept her on a floor by herself at the Chenghua District brainwashing center on Panda Boulevard. She was dragged on the floor and beaten. When she went on a hunger strike and passed out, the guards sent her to the emergency room. As soon as she stabilized, personnel in the so-called "Law and Order Study Center" began to torture her. They fed her with a substance that greatly increased her appetite but then only allowed her a small amount of food, barely enough to sustain her.
After Liu Ying got home, her appearance had changed. She spoke nonsense. A couple of days later she became mentally disordered and could not fall asleep. She would yell loudly at night and had hallucinations and heard sounds. She talked nonsense and could not take care of herself. At times she was unable to control her bodily functions and often vomited. The situation was very similar to that of another practitioner, Zhu Xia, who also became mentally disordered from persecution. Ms. Liu sometimes was extremely frightened. A loud voice would cause her to tremble. It was believed that she was tortured in the brainwashing center and was injected with unknown drugs. Before her release, the perpetrators injected her with tranquilizer to keep her calm for the first couple days after her release.
On February 21, 2006, the police from the Qinglong Police Department arrested Ms. Liu and two other practitioners helping to take care of her. Currently, no one knows where they are detained.
Since July 20, 1999, when the Chinese government began persecuting Falun Gong, Ms. Liu has been continuously harassed and her home has been ransacked. She was often followed. The authorities would come at midnight, knock on the doors, and arrest people and put them in jail, a psychiatric hospital, or forced labor camps. Liu Ying was forced to stay away from home in 2001 in order to avoid further harassment and arrest. Once, the police from Fuqin Police Station in the town where she lived arrested her. They tortured Ms. Liu until she went into a coma and then threw her in a field in the countryside in the middle of the night. On September 19, 2003, her home in the Qinglong Area of the Chenghua District in Chengdu City was ransacked by personnel from the 610 Office and the police department while a few hundred people watched..

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Meng Lijun was arrested and sentenced to prison. She was near death due to being severely tortured in the detention center. However, the detention center guards and local policemen extorted a large amount of money from her family even when her life was in danger.
Meng Lijun was illegally arrested on September 27, 2005, and before January 29, 2006 (the Chinese New Year) she was sentenced to ten years in prison. She is now being detained in the Jinan City Women's Prison.
Ms. Meng Lijun has an elderly mother in her 80s, a son and a daughter, and a disabled younger brother who depends on her.
In order to protest her illegal detention, Ms. Meng went on a two-month hunger strike inside the Jinan City Detention Center, and at one point her life was in danger. The detention center guards and policemen of the local police department extorted a large amount of money from Meng Lijun's husband. Police officer Yu Jinyuan (male) from the Tianqiao District Department extorted eight thousand yuan from Ms. Meng's family, and said this amount could save her life. The Jinan City 610 Office agents threatened Ms. Meng's husband many times at his workplace to dare not reveal any facts of the persecution against Ms. Meng Lijun.
When Meng Lijun's sisters heard about her detention, they went to the Jinan City Detention Center to request her immediate release. The Chinese Communist Party Officials sealed all information about Ms. Meng, and extended their evil persecution to all of her family members who have been involved in trying to rescue her.
The Jinan City 610 Office and Zhangqiu City 610 Office joined
forces. They
had policemen from Guanzhuang Station of Zhangqiu City closely
monitoring Ms.
Meng Lijun's family members living in Zhangqiu City, including her
sisters and
niece. The Zhangqiu City 610 Officer went to Meng Lijun's second eldest
sister's
workplace - Zhangqiu City Xiujiang Service Company - and forced her

to change her job, assign someone to monitor her, and strictly limit
her
personal freedom.
In the past, Clearwisdom has repeatedly reported the brutal persecution Masanjia Labor Camp has imposed on Falun Gong practitioners who refuse to give up their belief. Here we provide an update with some recently revealed persecution facts.
In order to resist the persecution, Falun Gong practitioners have carried out hunger strikes to protest for a long time. Since the establishment of the "Tight Control Group" in April 2005, practitioners who were on hunger strikes were violently force-fed. After winter arrived, the guards locked practitioners who were on hunger strikes in "freezing rooms" that did not have heat (the room temperature was below zero centigrade). The rooms with heat were all left empty in an attempt to force the practitioners to submit through this kind of inhuman treatment. Every day, practitioners were also forced to sit on bricks on the ice-cold ground. Initially practitioners were allowed to sit on small cloth cushions, but when the deep winter season came, the guards snatched away all practitioners' cushions. The practitioners were forced to sit on the ice-cold ground for over 10 hours every day. Recently Xu Jing, Wang Huinan, and Hu Yuyuan all developed problems with their kidneys because of these abuses, resulting in the need to urinate frequently. Even more practitioners had symptoms such as stomachache and groin pain. The labor camp completely ignores their suffering.
The guards not only tortured practitioners with physical abuse, but the mental abuse was even more serious. Under the excuse of conducting body searches, the guards groped and exposed female practitioners' bodies at will. They threw female practitioners' underpants and bras all over the place when checking the jail cells. When practitioners started a sit-in to protest the guards' vile behavior, they dragged practitioners Gao Fuling, Liu Zhenwen, Yin Wei and others into empty rooms and handcuffed them for several days without letting them sleep.
The first day after the vacation of the October 1 National Day was the date when Falun Gong practitioners at the Third Group were allowed to take a bath. The labor camp administration secretly turned on the monitor in the public bathroom where the female practitioners took their baths to let the guards watch the entire process of practitioners bathing.
Just because practitioner Wang Manli moved her lips once, the group leader said she was reciting Falun Gong teachings and forcefully dragged her to an empty freezing room where she was handcuffed and left for three days. Ms. Sun Shuxiang urged the guards not to persecute practitioners and was also handcuffed for three days by the brigade chief without being allowed to sleep. Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Geng Li from Dalian has been on hunger strike for a very long time and has become extremely weak. However, the guards still have not stopped persecuting her. After Geng Li shouted "Falun Dafa is good" to resist the persecution, Guan Liying violently shoved a small pad into Ms. Geng's mouth, almost suffocating her.
Ms. Liu Guiyuan is being persecuted very seriously because she refuses to give up her belief in Truth-Compassion-Forbearance. Presently, her term has been illegally extended by one year after having been already imprisoned for nearly 6 months past her original term.
I was illegally arrested and sent to Taihang Prison in Mancheng, Baoding City, Hebei Province. In attempts to "transform" practitioners, the prison police physically tortured practitioners, restricted their sleep, circulated fake articles they claimed were written by Teacher, and swore incessantly at practitioners. I was persecuted the most severely at the end of 2002.
There was a small room located on the prison's third floor, with its windows covered with thick cloth. This is where the police tortured every practitioner on first arrival to the prison. Collaborators were not required to do daily work. Their only job was to help brainwash other practitioners. The police gave the traitors incentives of reduced prison terms to persecute practitioners. In this way the traitors tortured the practitioners every day. They lied to us, scolded us, and prohibited us from using the restroom or washing ourselves if we did not "transform." The police did not allow other inmates to have contact with us, and if they did, they would lose the reduction of their prison sentences.
A prisoner named Tian Jinfeng, who was from Qinhuangdao, gave a few packets of instant noodles to a practitioner. As a result, she was handcuffed in the courtyard for several days in front of the other prisoners. Tian Jinfeng was an old lady with diabetes and urinary incontinence. The police covered the glass window of the doors to prevent outsiders from seeing them beat us. They wanted to deceive people into thinking that they treated practitioners well, but in actual fact, they tortured us behind the scenes. They forced us to push our heads against the wall and bend down with our hands touching the floor. They tortured us by forcing us into one position, called "flying an airplane" for prolonged periods of time. They said they would not be held responsible for beating us to death. Policewoman Du Lijing said that she would be responsible if I was beaten to death. They tried to brainwash us forcefully, and all the practitioners suffered from disease symptoms afterwards. The police also took away our food in violation of their own regulations and deprived us of sustenance. They increased our workload and did not allow sick leave to people who fainted at the workplace. Verbal abuse and beating was common.
Practitioner Zhang Lijun from Dingzhou was sent to prison on April 16, 2004. She suffered horrendous persecution. She could be beaten even late at night. The police beat her late at night when most people were asleep. The traitors and inmates collaborated to torture Zhang Lijun. When Zhang Lijun had a stomachache during her menstrual period, they punched her lower abdomen. Every traitor could beat or scold practitioners at will.
Bai Junjie from Zhangjiakou was sent to prison in March 2005. His high blood pressure registered a systolic reading of over 200. The police watched him day and night, preventing other practitioners from contacting him. Zhao Wenlan, 68 years old, started to have symptoms of leg pain after being forcefully brainwashed. Zhang Li also suffered symptoms after being brainwashed. She shivered greatly when the pain came. Wang Fengyi had to work even though two of her fingers were out of joint. She frequently woke up in the middle of the night crying from pain, yet the police would not allow her to have sick leave. In August, 2003, Hu Shenhua was slapped on the face by policeman Ma Huirang for hand-copying Teacher's lectures. She was then bound onto a wooden board with her hands and feet shackled. During the SARS outbreak in 2003, the traitors painted humiliating words about Teacher and Falun Gong on her chest and back, which violated our human rights and dignity. Because I shouted, "Falun Dafa is good," they stuffed a towel into my mouth, and a dozen people bound my hands and feet with ropes. The prison police would not let go of anyone who refused to be "transformed" or write declarations denouncing Falun Gong. From time to time, they brought a piece of paper with humiliating words about Teacher and Falun Gong. One of the things on it said: "what kind of method does the prison use to transform you? Is it warm humanity or beating and swearing?" We all knew that it was coercion, swearing, beating, sleep deprivation, and misusing Teacher's lectures on purpose. However, if we told the truth, we would be brought into the small dark room to be further tortured.
In August 2005, Gong Fenglan, in her 50s, from Chengde, declared the letter of "transformation" she wrote under the forceful brainwashing to be invalid. She continued to practice Falun Gong. Therefore she was locked in a solitary cell again and banned from showering.
Liu Jinying from Zhu County was transported to this prison from Shijiazhuang Prison on the evening of October 16, 2003. She was not allowed to sleep for seven or eight days in a row. Her friends from the same county tried to send her some daily necessities but the prison police did not allow it. She lost the normal functioning of her mind from the tortures.
Ma Xiuqin, 62 years old, from Yi County, was forcefully brainwashed. Her systolic blood pressure was 200 - 280 at that time. The traitors prohibited her from going to the restroom so that she had no choice but to wet her pants.
Prison policeman Ge Shuguang and a group of collaborators planned to brainwash practitioners at a new prison in Luquan City, Shijiangzhuan. Moreover, the collaborators deliberately took Teacher's lectures out of context and forced practitioners to rewrite their deceit by hand.
The Chinese Communist Party's media reports are all fake. A reporter came to the prison during the SARS epidemic. The reporter brought the collaborators to the workplace to pretend to work while he videotaped them. The prisoners present on site all said that the two persecuted practitioners did not work at all, and that the prison police were staging this scene.
For every practitioner the prison guards persecute, they receive a bonus of 100 yuan per month. They receive extra rewards if they "transform" a practitioner, and the people in charge of persecuting Falun Gong get promoted afterwards.
According to an incomplete estimate, the cruel tortures at the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp in the past seven years have resulted in at least five deaths of Falun Gong practitioners. Seven practitioners suffered a mental collapse, and many practitioners sustained permanent disabilities.
According to some of the persecution reports on the Clearwisdom website, we compiled nearly 100 torture methods used at the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp on Falun Gong practitioners. Due to limited time and resources, we will only show here the 20 most commonly used torture methods and other acts of physical abuse.

The Falun Gong practitioner's upper body and legs are forced to form a 45-degree angle; his legs are kept straight and his head points downward. His arms are raised straight up from behind his back to the maximum extent, or down reaching his heels. Many practitioners were dragged to the restroom and tortured this way. Staying in this posture for a long time results in cramps, soreness and pain in the arms and legs. Falun Gong practitioners Zou Guirong, who was tortured to death, and Ge Chunling were tortured this way.
Torture method 2: torturing the arms
The Falun Gong practitioner is forced to raise both arms without letting them down. He is forced to stay awake 24 hours a day, with guards watching him. If he relaxes a little, the guards shock him with electric batons or beat him. The guards also pinch the practitioner's body until it turns black and blue. The practitioner feels sore and painful from holding the arms up for a long time; his body trembles and he is soaked in sweat.
Torture method 3: handstand (standing upside-down)

The practitioner is forced to do a handstand next to a wall, with his hands supporting his body and his legs pointing straight up. The inmates and guards hold the practitioner's legs and feet while some other guards shock the practitioner's chest near the heart. Most of the victims suffer dizziness and have bloodshot eyes. Their hearts speed up and they have difficulty breathing from the electric shock and upside-down position.
Torture method 4: hanging upside-down

The practitioner's legs are pulled through the bottom railing of a bunk bed with his head pointing downward in mid-air. His arms are tied behind his back. As a result of being positioned upside down, the practitioner usually experiences blood rushing to the head, which causes severe swelling of the head. Several minutes later he suffers from shortness of breath and dizzy spells. Guard Wang Xiuju tortured practitioner Zhang Xiuling this way and ordered collaborators to hit her head until her eyes turned black and blue. They even burned her face with a lit piece of paper.
Torture method 5: sealing the mouth

The practitioner's mouth, face and head are wrapped in tape with only the eyes exposed. The practitioner's arms are pulled behind his back and immobilized with tape, and then the evildoers brutally beat him. Guard Ren Hongzan gagged practitioner Liu Dianqin with a sanitary napkin and then fixed the napkin in place with several rounds of tape. Ren Hongzan then loudly read a Falun Gong-slandering book next to Liu Dianqin's ear.

The practitioner's body is kept straight and tied up all over with rope(s). He is prevented from lowering his head and is forbidden to sleep. If he nods off, he will receive electric shocks to his neck and chin, as well as other sensitive body parts.
Form B: legs tied up and hands cuffed behind the back
The practitioner's legs are tightly tied with a thin rope with his legs in the double-crossed position; his arms are forced behind his back and handcuffed. There are two ways of handcuffing, as illustrated in photos 17 and 18. The victim is tied in these positions for several hours or sometimes more than ten hours at a time. The captors place foul-smelling shoes and other filthy things underneath the victims' noses and sometimes they tape the practitioner's mouth shut. This is a commonly used form of torture when the perpetrators try to "reform" Falun Gong practitioners. In December 2002, practitioner Wang Fang, around 40 years of age, from Jinzhou City, was tortured this way for more than four hours by Dong Shuxia who ordered the collaborators to carry out the torture. Wang Fang lost the feeling in her left leg and cannot walk; she lost the muscle tone in her left arm and as a result cannot move it. The handcuffs cut into the flesh and the scars still remain to this day.
Form C: tie-up in the shape of ball
The practitioner's hands are tied behind his back with a thick rope. The torturers force the practitioner's legs into a tight double-crossed position and tie them up. Then they tie the practitioner's head and legs together, which forces the practitioner into a shape of a ball. The victim first experiences tremendous pain, then loss of feeling in his legs. His legs swell severely because of lack of blood circulation. The practitioner is unable to walk for months after the torture and walks with a limp for years. Sometimes this torture results in permanent disability of both legs. To increase the practitioner's suffering, some guards sit on the practitioner, ignoring the practitioner's painful cries. Practitioner Wang Wenjun, from Jinzhou, who was tortured to death, was tortured this way for nine hours in December 2003. Some practitioners were "tied into a ball" for five days and their legs were permanently disabled after being untied.

Recently, police officers from Puning City, Guangdong Province harassed Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Wang Sutong at his home on three occasions. They lied to him and threatened him. The following agencies participated in this round of persecution: Police departments from Chengxi, Chengdong, Chiwei, Gaungtai and Nanxi, the detention center, the custody center, the Political and Judiciary Committee, the National Security Group, the police department's 610 Office, the Forestry Bureau, the Forestry Police Department, and the Chengxi Residential Committee. Further persecutors came from the Liusha Town government, the Sanshui Forced Labor Camp in Guangdong Province, and the Guangdong Province Labor Reeducation Bureau. Wang Sutong's wife, his children, brothers, sisters, cousin, colleagues and neighbors were also affected. The police sometimes ransacked homes in the middle of the night, including Mr. Wang's. Following are details regarding Mr. Wang:
Wang Sutong was an ordinary worker at a company under the Puning City Forestry Bureau. He became healthy and his family became harmonious after he started practicing Falun Gong. After the persecution began on July 20, 1999, Mr. Wang was illegally detained and tortured by agents from Jiang Zemin's villainous group. In order to avoid arrest, he is still living in exile and cannot return home.
Wang Sutong was extorted out of money each time he was illegally arrested. Between November 2000 and November 2002, Mr. Wang was held at the Sanshui Forced Labor Camp. His children had to drop out of school.
Initially, Wang Sutong was held at the Liusha Town government, where male and female Falun Gong practitioners were detained in the same room. He was often insulted, threatened and terrorized. He was verbally and physically abused at the Chiwei Police Department.
After Mr. Wang was transferred to the detention center, the police took his clothes. For work, he had to regularly manufacture 8,000 small light bulbs. The inmates beat him when he couldn't finish the work. Guard Lai locked him in shackles weighing 77 pounds for 14 days. The screws on the shackles penetrated his flesh and caused profuse bleeding.
Later, Wang Sutong was transferred to the Sanshui Forced Labor Camp where determined Falun Gong practitioners are brutally abused and mistreated, tormented and tortured under the persecution. The practitioners were forced to stand outside in the summer's sweltering heat, were not given any water, and were forbidden to use the restroom. In the winter the perpetrators forced Mr. Wang to sit under a fan. They stripped him naked and deprived him of sleep. They also forced him to squat in the cold. Captors at the Sanshui Forced Labor Camp often urged detained Falun Gong practitioners' spouses to divorce their mates.

Police officers in Suning County, Hebei Province are still persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. They illegally detained practitioner Ms. Song Fengying for several months and later sent her to the Shijiazhuang Forced Labor Camp. It is learned that she has lost sight in one eye, and she also suffers from diabetes. One of her legs is swollen and she has difficulty urinating. The Shijiazhuang Forced Labor Camp refused to admit her, but the detention center authorities insisted and pressured for her to be accepted.
On the afternoon of December 20, 2005, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Yuan Ming from Suning County posted two truth clarification flyers in Dongqingkou Village in Shangcun Town. Guo Shuting saw him and took him to the police department where Yuan Ming was detained overnight.
That same night, some unlawful people and officers from the county police department went to ransack Yuan Ming's home. His family members were too frightened to stop them.
The next afternoon, the persecutors took Yuan Ming to the county police department. By this time Yuan Ming had not eaten for 24 hours. The captors coerced him to write a guarantee statement. They sent him back to the detention center where he was held for seven more days. Shangcun Police Department agents extorted 400 yuan from Yuan Ming. His family had to pay the officials 1,000 yuan to try to get him released.
