On April 19 and 20, 2006, Falun Gong practitioners protested the CCP's persecution of Falun Gong in front of the White House, and I recorded some of the things I saw and heard.
A police officer asks for a banner to hang in his dormitory
On April 20, practitioners held up banners with the words, "Bring Jiang, Luo, Liu and Zhou to Justice" and others, and shouted, "Stop the persecution of Falun Gong" in English and Chinese for a whole day in front of the hotel Hu stayed. A little over 11 p.m., when practitioners gathered up banners at the end of protest, a police officer came over and asked for several banners. He was on duty and asked for the banners to hang up in his dormitory.
The banners were mostly already packed into a truck on the way to Yale University for the next day's protest. The practitioner found two poster boards. One had the English words "No more Chinese Communist Party" and the other was mounted with the photo of Zhao Xi and had the words, "Stop the persecution of Falun Gong."
The police officer thanked the practitioners and happily accepted those poster boards.
A passer-by volunteers to explain the facts
On April 20, many people came to visit the White House and learned about the persecution of Falun Gong. Across the street near the White House, there was a group of Chinese students with the CCP's flag walking back and forth. Practitioners played the Nine Commentaries to let them listen. A U.S. student listened to the broadcast and found a lot of common ground with the message, especially the idea of "loving China does not mean loving the Communist Party, and the CCP does not represent China." He said, "Let me go over there and help you explain."
He told police that he was a tourist, and went across the street and called the Chinese students together. He started talking to them, and it seemed as if they had an animated discussion. The police asked them to keep moving, as people were not allowed to stop in front of the barricades, so he kept walking with the Chinese students to explain the facts to them. It was indeed a touching scene.
A TV station used by the CCP
In the evening of April 19, Hu was to arrive in Washington DC and stay in the hotel in front of the White House. The sidewalks in front of the White House were crowded with people, including those that the CCP organized to welcome him and those who came to protest. Falun Gong practitioners explained the facts to those people and played the Nine Commentaries in a loudspeaker.
17th Street in front of the White House was the most important place that CCP arranged to welcome Hu. Though it was the shortest route to the hotel, Hu's motorcade did not pass through it. The welcoming crew was a little discouraged and ready to leave.
At that point, several reporters of a Taiwanese TV station arrived. It was interesting that they only wanted to shoot footage for those there to welcome Hu, without any shots of Falun Gong's protest. Whenever some protesters passed by, the cameraman stopped shooting. I heard before that a TV station in Taiwan was in the CCP's pocket, but I was still surprised to see it in action.
A student holding the CCP's flag walked back and forth. The cameraman called to her and asked her to wave the flag back and forth. When protesters holding posters passed by, he stopped shooting footage.
One person said, "It is better for the CCP to pay off media
outlets outside of Mainland China, and then use their footage to fool
people in China. It's more effective that way."

Chinatown in Manchester is a place for Chinese people in northern England to gather. Falun Gong practitioners from Manchester and nearby cities, as well as volunteers from the Epoch Times newspaper, met to expose the Chinese Communist Party's cruel persecution of Falun Gong to passers-by in Chinatown. Recently, many evil crimes have been exposed, where Falun Gong practitioners' organs were removed while they were still alive and their bodies were cremated to remove the evidence.
A Chinese person is shocked by the persecution and looks at the photos
attentively
The practitioners along with the volunteers set up a table next to the pavilion at a busy intersection. The documentary film the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party (an editorial published by the Epoch Times newspaper) was played on a TV. The practitioners displayed pictures and also placed some newspapers next to the entrance of a busy thoroughfare.
A Chinese person passed by and wanted to shake hands with the practitioners: "What you have done is great! I've seen you in other countries and this is the first time seeing you in UK. I support you!!"
Several Christians who often went to
Manchester said to the practitioners that they have formed a deeper
understanding of the CCP's persecution of the Chinese people.
Many Chinese and westerners were pleased to accept leaflets. Lots of people also came to ask for the "Nine Commentaries of the Communist Party". Many people saw the large banner hung between the pavilion and the archway with the words "Support the nine million people who quit the CCP. Only without the CCP can we have a new China." Some people took pictures of their friends standing next to the banner.
A Chinese lady talked with her husband by mobile phone to discuss where to meet. They talked about several places but had not yet decided when she raised her head; she saw the big banner and said "Let's meet at the site of the banner 'Only without the CCP can we have a new China.' Then she and her two daughters laughed. After receiving the "Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party" and a leaflet, her husband arrived. The practitioners watched this happy family leave smiling.
Sometimes, practitioners came across Chinese people who were badly deceived by the CCP propaganda and would not listen to the truth. However, the practitioners kept righteous thoughts and a heart of compassion. An elderly overseas Chinese person, who was deeply poisoned by the CCP, usually blustered, clamoured and shouted at the site where the practitioners held activities. Practitioners talked with him about the true nature of the CCP. He was speechless after hearing the truth. He clammed up and then said, "If these accounts of the CCP's actions are true, I would go to the Embassy in Manchester and protest at the Embassy." His tremendous change made the practitioners understand that some people look like they are impervious to advice, it is actually we ourselves do not have enough compassion.
Some Chinese people who previously did not want to accept leaflets now also started to accept the information distributed by the practitioners.

During the Easter holiday on April 15 and 16, 2006, Falun Gong practitioners in Scotland organised a series of activities to help more people know about the Chinese Communist regime's brutal persecution of Falun Gong, especially the recently exposed crimes in the Chinese secret concentration camps, where organs from living Falun Gong practitioners have been harvested for commercial profit and then their bodies were cremated to destroy the evidence. They appealed to the UK and international communities for their concern and demanded a thorough investigation into the labour camps in China and to bring criminals to justice.
Falun Gong practitioners' banners, posters exposing the brutal torture and Falun Gong exercise demonstrations drew many people's attention in the streets of Edinburgh.
Exposing the CCP's atrocities in Edinburgh
A western student said: "I know about Falun Gong. I often visit your web sites. My essay concerns the relations between human rights of Falun Gong and economics. I fully support your struggle for human rights."
After reading posters and their illustrations, a Jewish person came over to sign our petition to show his support. He said that these criminals should be brought to justice wherever they go.
A young Scottish couple were shocked to learn that Falun Gong practitioners' organs were harvested while they were still alive. They couldn't believe this violence could occur in the 21st century. When practitioners explained to them with data and relevant evidence, they said they would write to their MP to ask for an investigation.
A mother came to sign our petition with her child. Practitioners reminded the mother that because some posters were quite shocking, it might not be suitable for the child. The mother said: "It is very unfortunate these terrible things happen. Children should learn that human rights abuse still exists in this world. They should also express their support to your just actions."
"I saw Falun Gong in Prague."
A tourist said after signing the petition: "I saw Falun Gong in Prague. I also showed my support to you there."
Another tourist said to practitioners that he learned from London practitioners about the atrocities committed against Falun Gong practitioners in Chinese secret concentration camps. He encouraged practitioners to continue their efforts to help more people know the truth and push for a thorough investigation.
A few Falun Gong practitioner from Czechoslovakia who currently live in Scotland drove three hours to come to Edinburgh for the activities. Although they didn't say much, they could be seen everywhere.
Arousing children's inborn nature
During the Easter holiday, the Edinburgh government organised many performances in the parks near the city centre. Falun Gong practitioners have joined the celebration for many years. They also had a stand near the stage this year. Practitioners taught children how to make paper lotus flowers. They also gave out paper lotus flowers with the words "Falun Gong Truthfulness Compassion Forbearance" to children and their parents as Easter gifts.
A long queue was formed before the stand. A mother said: "My child and I like your lotus flower very much. I feel that when the Lotus flower is together with Truthfulness Compassion Forbearance, it is quite meaningful."
Practitioners also demonstrated the Falun Gong exercises onstage.
Edinburgh is the capital of Scotland. It
is a renowned administration, finance, tourist, culture and art centre.
Falun Gong group has joined many times the city's Easter and art
festival activities and received prizes quite a few times.

On April 15-16, 2006, together with nine other countries in the Asian-Pacific region, practitioners in Taiwan held a 24-hour simultaneous hunger strike to protest the CCP's atrocities in forced labor camps. At 10:00a.m. on April 16, 2006, after the hunger strike activities were over, Falun Gong practitioners held a press conference in Changhua County Government Square and held a parade in downtown Changhua.
The Taiwan Falun Dafa Association called upon the head of the CCP Hu Jintao to open up all forced labor camps and prisons where Falun Gong practitioners have been locked up for international investigation. It also called upon President Bush to pay attention to the CCP's atrocities of harvesting and selling organs of living Falun Gong practitioners in forced labor camps.

Former Pingdong District chief of staff Chen Chang-hui expressed that the CCP covered up the epidemics of SARS and bird flu, and as a result, the epidemics were spread and the whole world suffered. After the revelation of the living organ harvesting in the CCP's forced labor camps, the CCP remained silent for three weeks. During that time it intended to destroy the evidence and relocate the Falun Gong practitioners detained there. What the CCP is afraid of the most now is to be investigated.
Representative of the Taiwan Association for Rescuing Persecuted Falun Gong Hou Nian-Zu expressed that in the past seven years, the CCP has carried out the most brutal persecution campaign against these innocent cultivators. It has even carried out such merciless deeds of harvesting and selling organs from living Falun Gong practitioners. Therefore, only by letting all people have a thorough understanding of what the CCP is, can the persecution be stopped.
Legislative member Wei Ming-gu expressed that the CCP is a dictatorship, and it controls the domestic media while influencing external media. Therefore, the media seldom reports on the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. Under such circumstances, Falun Gong practitioners stand up courageously to peacefully resist this huge political power.
Mr. Lin, the owner of a photo studio, expressed that after looking at photos displayed on the cars in the parade, he was in deep grief. Anyone who has a human nature will share his feelings. He believed that if the whole world would stand up, the strength and power would be great.
Mr. Huang, a military policeman who assisted with traffic flow in Changhua City, took photos of the parade procession. He said that Falun Gong is remarkable, holding activities to help more people understand the situation. Chinese citizens are innocent, and the dictatorship must fall.
Some people expressed that the CCP actually does not have human nature, so it can do such a horrible thing. Many people were surprised and asked "Is it true? It's terrible!" Some disagreed with going to the Mainland to do organ transplants and receive medical treatment.
After Representative of Changhua Lin Da-Jie read about the CCP's live organ harvesting, he shook his head and said it was horrible. He saw many people practice Falun Gong in Bagua Mountain, Parks and other places in Changhua City. They are very good. The CCP's persecution is unacceptable. He hoped that the persecution would be stopped immediately.
A Chinese traditional medicine doctor Mr. Yang and his daughter carefully read the truth clarification materials. Mr. Yang said that he had read the Nine Commentaries before and had learned about the CCP's evil nature. The CCP is useing its strong political power to control people's beliefs, and that's unacceptable.
Ms. Wu, who works at the National Revenue
Bureau, expressed that she has been very healthy after practicing Falun
Gong. The CCP's persecution of Falun Gong has lasted nearly seven
years. The methods it uses are more and more cruel and inhuman, and
unacceptable to all kind people of conscience. Ms. Wu also participated
in the 24-hour protest hunger strike. She hoped that everyone would
write to President Bush to request Hu Jintao during their meeting to
allow the international community to conduct independent investigations
into all forced labor camps, prisons and hospitals throughout China.
People can also make phone calls to forced labor camps to tell them
that everyone in the world knows their evil deeds, and let us together
stop the persecution.

On April 18, 2006, Falun Gong practitioners in Malaysia filed a formal accusation to the police discipline department of the Malaysian Police headquarters and Malaysian Human Rights Commission about the Chinese Embassy exerting pressure on the police, and continuing to harass and detain practitioners who conduct protest activities outside the Chinese Embassy. The whole process was followed while accompanied by several high-ranking police officials.

|
In the morning, Falun Gong practitioners first went to the police discipline department in the Malaysian Police Headquarters to file a formal complaint. At the same time they held banners to convey messages to the Malaysian government, in hopes that Malaysia will respect human rights, and not be intimidated by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). The practitioners also protested the CCP extending the persecution to Malaysia. After that, the practitioners went to the Malaysian Human Rights Commission to deliver a memorandum.
Spokesperson for Falun Gong Wu Wenqiang said that since last December practitioners have gone to the Chinese Embassy on a daily basis to protest the CCP's persecution of Falun Gong, and have been subjected to harassment by the Chinese Embassy. Especially after the exposure of the CCP's organ harvesting in concentration camps, the harassment became even worse. Wu Wenqiang expressed that the practitioners hope the Malaysian government will not be intimidated by the CCP, "All governments in the world have learned that Falun Gong is being persecuted. We hope our government can also understand, and no longer infringe upon Falun Gong's human rights due to pressure."
Falun Gong practitioners' lawyer said that it is not right that the Malaysian police are pressured into interfering with peaceful practitioners who have not violated the law. He called on the Human Rights Commission to investigate this matter.
The lawyer attended the press conference that Falun Gong practitioners held at the Human Rights Commission, and made a speech. He said, "The Malaysian police even cooperate with the Chinese Embassy to interfere with Falun Gong practitioners. We are surprised and disappointed at such an act. The Chinese Embassy is very arrogant, and even intimidates practitioners who protest outside. We have a case record of a Chinese Embassy officer threatening a practitioner by saying, 'I drag you in, and then you will be finished!'"
|
He hoped that the human rights commission seriously deals with the
matter and at the same time appealed to the police chief to handle this
matter. "Falun Gong practitioners have not violated the law, there are
only two or three people protesting daily outside the Chinese Embassy,
and the things they are doing are noble. They are calling for the
release of persecuted practitioners in China. The police should not
harass them because of pressure from a foreign country."
