Falun Gong practitioner Zhang Xiaoping from Xingqing District, Yinchuan City, was illegally arrested and detained for one month because she went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. She was sentenced to a forced labor camp for three years for handing out Falun Gong truth-clarifying materials in December 2000. In the labor camp, Zhang Xiaoping was deceived by the false pretense and lies, and was brainwashed. In 2004, with the help of other practitioners, Zhang Xiaoping realized her mistake. She then helped other practitioners who were "transformed" under duress to return to the righteous path again. Because of this, the police see her as a thorn in the eye.

On May 14, 2005, Yingchuan Police Department and Xingqing District Police Department used sinister schemes to entrap and arrest Falun Gong practitioners. On May 15, the police arrested Zhang Xiaoping and another practitioner from her hair salon. The police searched the Salon, but they didn't find any evidence they needed. They then robbed Zhang Xiaoping of all her private possessions - cash, bank deposit book and jewelry. They also searched the homes of Zhang Xiaoping's parents and her sister. After that, they arrested another five Falun Gong practitioners.

In the first five or six days, the police without any factual or legal basis attempted to extort a confession from Zhang Xiaoping by torturing her in the 610 Office and Xingqing District Police Department. In order to extract information about the Falun Gong truth-clarification materials production sites, the police targeted Zhang Xiaoping. Other practitioners were subjected to threats, deceit, isolation and various cruel tortures. Zhang Xiaoping was tortured by being tied up and hung up for as long as ten hours, made to sit on the tiger bench three times, vicious forced-feeding, being handcuffed with her arms behind her back and having her feet shackled for extended periods of time, as well as other brutal tortures. However, the police still didn't get what they wanted from Zhang Xiaoping.

From October last year to March this year, Zhang Xiaoping had both her hands and feet shackled like death row criminals. The longest period lasted 46 days. The police didn't allow other prisoners to give her help. Zhang Xiaoping refused to answer roll call, recite the prison regulations, or perform slave labor, and openly practiced the Falun Gong exercises. She went on hunger strike three times to protest the persecution.

The lengthy period of persecution took a toll on her health, and Ms. Zhang became very feeble and unrecognizable. Not until March 2, did the Xixia District Investigation Department and the Yinchuan Detention Center notify Zhang Xiaoping's family after Zhang Xiaoping had been on hunger strike for 12 days, and was rushed to the Emergency Resuscitation Center.

Many scars from being tied up and from being tortured on a metal chair were clearly evident on her body. At present, Zhang Xiaoping is at home.

The 2nd Squadron of the 6th Group, Xinhua Forced Labor Camp, Mianyang, Sichuan Province is an vicious place that illegally imprisons and persecutes Falun Gong practitioners.

Since January 2005, the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners there has escalated. On December 2, 2005, the police, led by deputy leader Zhao Zeyong and group cadre Su Xin, carried out an unprecedented and rampant persecution of all Falun Gong practitioners in Xinhua Forced Labor Camp. Many practitioners were tied up tightly, pinned down to the ground, had their heads beaten until they were swollen and bloody, and were shocked by electric batons. On top of that, it was decided in a meeting that their confinement and "re-education" in the camp would be extended.

To date, there are still more than forty Falun Gong practitioners imprisoned, segregated and persecuted in Xinhua Forced Labor Camp, including Mr. Lu Zhiyong (Both Mr. Lu and his wife were sent to the forced labor camp), Mr. Luo Qingsheng, Mr. Wu Xingdong, Mr. Lu Chunsong, and many others.

The police in the camp shout hysterically at the Falun Gong practitioners that they have become the enemy and are a counter-revolutionary bloc. What do the police do? They beat people. They do not care about the injustice of their actions; if anyone does not obey the instructor, then he or she will suffer physical abuse. When practitioners are badly beaten, they are sent to the camp hospital. After they recover, they will be tortured some more. Practitioners are told that they deserve to be tortured to death.

The physical tortures that the wicked police inflict on Falun Gong practitioners include:

sleep deprivation; pulling out eyebrows, hair and beards; burning with cigarette butts; forcing practitioners to stand, sit, and squat in so-called military positions for a long time; shocking with up to 10 electric batons at a time; tying practitioners up with specialized methods; punches; kicks; pinching practitioners; and forcing them to wear an overcoat and a motorcycle helmet on hot days.

Falun Gong practitioners in Xinhua are raped in spirit, being forced to write the three statements to renounce their belief in Falun Gong, as well as being forced to read books and watch brainwashing videos that slander and defame Falun Gong. The practitioners' revered Teacher's name is written on a stool and then practitioners are forced to sit on it. False statements against Falun Gong and Master are written, and then several people force practitioners to fingerprint the document. Before eating, practitioners are forced to sing. Otherwise, they are punished. They force practitioners to study the so-called "three lessons" and do homework. If they refuse, they will be punished even more. Letters are difficult to send out. Every day, all practitioners have to sit on a small stool and are not allowed to speak. The persecutors act as a "watchdog," following practitioners like a shadow only 50 centimeters away. They constantly monitor practitioners closely while they are eating, sleeping, going to the restroom and walking.

Falun Gong Practitioners Who Step Forward to appeal for Falun Gong Are Persecuted in Xinhua Forced Labor Camp

Xinhua Forced Labor Camp is very afraid of Falun Gong practitioners standing up to appeal for Falun Gong. The authorities there use all kinds of evil methods to deal with Falun Gong practitioners who have stepped forward to appeal for Falun Gong.

Mr. Luo Qingsheng, over 50 years old, was very firm in his practice of Falun Gong. In 2004, he was illegally arrested and sent to the forced labor camp. He was grabbed and pressed to the ground, beaten, pinched, and kicked. He was tied with rope, handcuffed, and forced to wear a helmet many times.

Mr. Luo was isolated for a long time and his forced labor term was repeatedly extended. At present Mr. Luo still is imprisoned in Xinhua Forced Labor Camp. The leaders of the 2nd Squadron in the No. 6 Division are He Yuan, Du Shuhong, and Zhang Xiaogang. Insiders are asked to please provide the telephone numbers of these leaders.

The So-called Management System to Implement the Persecution

Xinhua Forced Labor Camp also frequently uses a sinister and ruthless method to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. All personnel teams in the labor camp are managed. Besides the civilian management association and team leaders, there is a management system composed of designated detainees who are assigned to monitor practitioners' activities. Practitioners always have to report to them and get permission before they can go from one place to another

When practitioners enter and exit their team room, the classroom, or their prison cell, they must report to the designated detainees and get permission.

Falun Gong practitioners do not acknowledge themselves as detainees. The team requires everyone to report to the designated detainees if they want to use the restroom. In this verbal report, practitioners have to admit that they are detainees. If practitioners do not follow their requirement for the report, they are not allowed to go to the restroom. They often use this kind of cruel method to suppress Falun Gong practitioners. In 2005, there was a Falun Gong practitioner who had no choice but to defecate in his pants. When he found the team chief to discuss it, they said that there were too many people in the team. He was told that if they don't require detainees to report before doing things, it would be difficult for them to manage so many people.

Moreover, the forced labor camp also forces Falun Gong practitioners to wear the labor camp uniform, do the work of re-education, sing the songs of re-education, recite the labor camp's rules, and so on. If Falun Gong practitioners do not cooperate with them, they will make them face the wall for a long time, not allow them to sleep, extend the labor camp term, and subject them to other methods of abuse.

The Clearwisdom website has already reported many times that the Suzhou Prison in Anhui Province brutally persecutes Falun Gong practitioners. Below is additional information about the ongoing persecution there.

In early January, 2005, under the Prison Transformation Center's command, Lu Yang, the chief of the Propaganda Office at the First Division of the Suzhou Prison, team leader Yu Weizhou, and criminal inmates Xiao Hua, Wang Songling, and Liu Jun brutally tortured Falun Gong practitioner Hu Wenkui for several days. Under -10 degree Celsius (14^oF) temperature, they opened the windows and used an electric fan to freeze Hu Wenkui, who only wore thin clothes. They hit and kicked him all over his body. They handcuffed one of his hands to the window frame and tied his other hand with ropes. Several criminals pulled the rope and hung up his entire body. Then they started to hit his chest and back. A few criminals held him down in a corner, stretched his legs into a straight line and hit his groin again and again. They also used electric batons to shock his groin for more than thirty minutes. The brutal torture caused his legs to be unable to move for a few months and his whole body was full of burns and blisters. Moreover, Lu Yang also used his heavy shoes to stomp on Hu Wenkui's feet fiercely for a long time, which caused both his feet to swell such that he could not wear shoes. Hu Wenkui fainted three times due to the pain. They also forcibly put Hu Wenkui's feet into boiling water. His left foot had a third-degree deep scald, which caused the heel of his foot to become severely damaged, and his small toe was permanently disabled. His right foot received a second-degree scald and that heel was completely damaged. He could not move either of his feet and they became malformed. After more than a year, Mr. Hu's feet still have not recovered. The prison is afraid that their crimes will be uncovered so they appointed certain people to strictly restrain Hu Wenkui in order not to let this information be known.

According to news from prison, from August 19-21, 2005, the Suzhou Prison used the same method to brutally torture Falun Gong practitioner Li Ning (they used seven electric batons to brutally torture him) and Du Shanwei (previously a police officer from Huaibei Area - he always wore his police uniform when appealing for Falun Gong), Wang Manyi, Ji Huinian, Ji Guangjie, Wang Yu, and others.

News of the persecution has been spread by the Falun Gong practitioners in the prison using all kinds of methods. Some reports were obtained from Falun Gong practitioners' acquaintances in the hospitals. We call on Falun Gong practitioners and people around the world to pay attention to the crimes happening at the Suzhou Prison and take action to stop the brutal persecution of Falun Gong practitioners at the Suzhou Prison in Anhui Province.

Falun Gong Practitioner Mr. Li Baohua, 30 years old, from Qitaihe City, was illegally sentenced to three and a half years in prison and is being detained in Mudanjiang Prison in Heilongjiang Province. In September 2003, he was sent to the Extensive Training Team of Mudanjiang Prison, where he was not allowed to wash his hands, face or clothes. One could not wear shoes when entering the room, so he had to go to the restroom with bare feet. Practitioners were not allowed to lie flat, and one had to sleep curled up on one's side. There were bugs crawling all over the bed. Many people got bites that itched terribly. When working, one had to use their hands that were infected and itched, to select and pack "clean chopsticks" and "water ice sticks." There were some foreign words on the boxes, indicating that these products were to be exported abroad. If a practitioner could not finish the work, his feet would be whipped by the head of the criminals in front of the guards, using "the little white dragon"-- white plastic tubes. After the arches were swollen, one was forced to jump on the ground. It was said that these conditions were actually much better than previous circumstances.

In order to protest the persecution, Li Baohua and more than a dozen other Falun Gong practitioners started a hunger strike, and they were beaten. After several days, because Li Baohua said a few words to another Falun Gong practitioner, he was beaten fiercely by the criminal inmates.

Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Guan Rian and Mr. Liu Jun were beaten fiercely by the team leader and criminals, because they refused to write a repentance statement. During work, others could have a rest, but Falun Gong practitioners could not. Criminal Wang Jincai said to the Falun Gong practitioners that if they did not obey the their unreasonable demands, they would not be released.

In July 2004, criminals seriously beat Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Gong Guidong in the First Squadron. Li Baohua stood up to stop this, but he was beaten until there was blood all over his body. Prison policemen neither allowed Gong Guidong to go to the hospital for an examination, nor allowed him to rest in the prison building, but forced him to go to work. Because he was injured badly, he could not walk. He was pushed on a cart by others to work and back, and he needed to be carried on the backs of others.

In the latter half of 2004, Falun Gong practitioners started a hunger strike to protest the persecution, but the persecution methods became more covert. The authorities put large amounts of salt in the forced feedings. Sometimes they used a half a kilogram of salt and did not allow any drinking. They also falsified records. They even asked the family of Li Baohua to come to the prison to take videos, pretending that they treated the Falun Gong practitioners very well. They said that the prison would refuse responsibility if anyone starved to death.

In April 2005, Li Baohua was confined to a solitary compartment because he did the Falun Gong exercises. Once Li Baohua entered the solitary compartment, two prison guards shocked him with two electric batons, and guard Wang Xin'an even kicked him.

On July 20, 2005, Guan Rian was found to have Falun Gong materials, so he was beaten by criminals three times within a single day. On February 10, 2006, the Second Squadron team leader Bao Jianhui beat Mr. Guan. He hit Guan Rian in the face until his face was black and purple. Bao Jianhui was drunk at the time.

Now Li Baohua, Guan Rian and other Falun Gong practitioners are still being persecuted inside the prison. The cases above are only a few examples. We urge the local Falun Gong practitioners to send forth righteous thoughts to strengthen their fellow practitioners, expose the persecution more clearly, and clarify the truth to more people.

On December 14, 2005, Cui Yuanqi, a new team leader, came to the Fourth Team of the 1st Ward in Nanshan Prison. In conjunction with this event, the director of the guards, Niu Baojin, along with a group of guards began a new round of persecution against Falun Gong practitioners. They put practitioners Mr. Hu Jianguo from Chaoyang City and Mr. Sun Jian from Panjin City into solitary confinement and attempted to force them to write the five statements of "transformation" (statements renouncing Falun Gong).

When Hu Jianguo and Sun Jian called out, "Falun Dafa is good," the guards stuffed a sock into Mr. Hu's mouth, and they shackled them to benches. These benches are designed to torture Falun Gong practitioners. They are made from two timbers 50 to 60 centimeters (20-24 in.) in height and 30 centimeters (12 in.) in width connected by an iron rod. There are also two iron rings attached to the timbers. A person sits on the bench and their legs are separated, then their arms are pulled through the rings and the handcuffs and shackles are put back on. One is then fixed in this position and cannot straighten their back. Many practitioners were disabled after being released from the bench. Mr. Hu Jianguo and Mr. Sun Jian were shackled to the bench for eleven days. During that awful time, the guards instigated ten inmates to take turns depriving them of sleep. They were devastated physically and mentally. Their wrists were cut open by the handcuffs and the skin on their buttocks was torn open. However, several days later, they were forced onto the bench again and deprived of covers during the cold nights. They were threatened that if they refused to write the five statements, they would not be released from solitary confinement.

When the practitioners pointed out the criminal behavior the guards displayed, and that they planned to bring them to court, the guards replied, "You want to sue us? Where can you go? You don't have any freedom. You want human rights? You have no rights whatsoever while you are here. My job is keeping you alive and making your life miserable." There was a practitioner, Mr. Li, who had been in solitary confinement for 48 days and shackled on the bench for 30 days. The guards brutally force-fed him, and the torture resulted in his suffering from both urinary and fecal incontinence.

The persecution is still ongoing in Nanshan Prison. The guards add pressure to the practitioners who refuse to be "transformed." They deprive Falun Gong practitioners of all rights, including not being allowed to spend the money in their accounts, the packages sent by their relatives are returned, and they are kept in solitary confinement for long periods of time. The environment is abominable.

Falun Gong practitioner Zhou Chuanzhong and his family were forced to live away from their home as a result of the persecution. On the morning of February 25, 2006, about a dozen vehicles from the Yanjiao Police Department and the 610 Office from Sanhe City, Langfang District, Hebei Province suddenly surrounded the temporary home of Mr. Zhou. The police arrested Zhou Chuanzhong, Wang Shuhua, and their son, Zhou Jia. Without presenting any documents, they ransacked the house and confiscated a computer, a copy machine, Falun Gong books, and other things. It was said that the police officers drove away with several cars full of property and also took Mr. Bai, an auto mechanic, with them.

In the process, a police officer hit Zhou Chuanzhong in the mouth and handcuffed him. On the afternoon of February 25, a police officer handcuffed Zhou Chuanzhong's hands tightly behind the back of a chair at the Yanjiao Police Department and placed a heavy club on his lap. One of the police officers who interrogated Zhou Chuanzhong said to his colleague, "He refused to say anything. Instead, he persuaded me to quit the Chinese Communist Party."

On the afternoon of February 25, the police arrested another practitioner, Zhang Lide, and ransacked his home. Zhang Lide's wife, also a Falun Gong practitioner, was not home and fortunately avoided being arrested. Meanwhile, practitioner Ma Weishan, 65, and Wang Yue and their spouses were also arrested. The home of Wang Yue was ransacked. Both husband and wife were sent to Sanhe Detention Center on the morning of February 26, and there has been no information about them since.

Sanhe City is just across the river from Beijing. It was said that the Ministry of Public Security sent people to put pressure on the city police department to check the Yanjiao area thoroughly. The 610 Office and government officials were also busy with urgent meetings. At the February 22 meeting of township party secretaries, village party secretaries, and people in charge of persecuting Falun Gong in each work unit, the township director said, "We have all the information on the truth-clarification materials production sites in the Yanjiao area. To arrest them and ransack the sites is just a matter of time. We will take action whenever we want."

Many of the police officers who participated in the illegal arrests and ransacking of practitioners' homes on February 25 received karmic retribution: they experienced dizziness and pain, and several had to take medicine.

Recently, many Falun Gong practitioners were illegally arrested for no reason in Changchun City. Thirty-four Falun Gong practitioners were put in prison, most of whom were seniors. The following are details of some of the persecution cases:

Additionally, on October 31, 2005, the Nanling Police Station arrested Falun Gong practitioners Ms. Sun Zhanrong (62 years old), Ms. Li Rongfeng (51 years old), and Ms. Wang Chaoyun (60 years old). On November 2, 2005, they arrested Mr. Fu Chongda (66 years old), Ms. Li Honglan (60 years old), and Ms. Zhang Dezhao (56 years old), and sent them to criminal detention. On November 15, Falun Gong practitioner Bai Yujie was passing out truth clarifying materials and was arrested by Political and Internal Security Section Chief Wang Fuping of the Economic Development District Branch of the Changchun PoliceDepartment, Superintendent Liu Wei and Deputy Superintendent Sun Lijun of the Zhuhai Road Police Station, along with policemen Hui Zhenyu, Yu Datie, and others.

The Changchun City's Chaoyang Police Station held a conference recently to plan the persecution of practitioners. Branch Chief Guan Lianping, Deputy Branch Chief Cai Bing demanded every police station to "dispose of" at least five Falun Gong practitioners by the end of the year. The Chaoyang District has nearly 30 police stations.

Falun Gong practitioners in Changchun City, please seize the chance to reveal the local persecution, increase the times of sending forth righteous thoughts if possible, and disintegrate the persecution by the evil.

1. [Xingtai City, Hebei Province] Practitioner Mr. Chen Shiduo on a Hunger Strike and in Critical Condition

After the Chinese New Year Festival, personnel from the Julu County Suying Police Station illegally arrested Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Chen Shiduo and sent him to a forced labor camp. Mr. Chen has been on a hunger strike to protest the persecution and is extremely weak. The labor camp refused to accept him due to his poor health. Mr. Chen is still being force-fed and tortured at the county detention center. He is in critical condition.

2. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Practitioner Doctor Chang Lizhong Arrested

On March 10, 2006, police arrested practitioner Dr. Chang Lizhong from the Haigang District, Wenmingli in Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province. Personnel from the City Chinese Traditional Medicine Hospital where he worked colluded with police and took part in the arrest. At present, Dr. Chang's whereabouts are unknown. The police did not notify his family of his arrest or whereabouts.

During the afternoon of March 10, Dr. Chang from the Radiology Section in that hospital was resting at home after the night shift. At around 3:00 p.m., the hospital administrator called him and told him the hospital would send him to a different hospital for advanced studies. The administrator asked him to come to the hospital. As soon as Dr. Chang stepped out of his home, police, waiting outside his home, arrested him. They confiscated two laptop computers, five printers, a box of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party and about 20 copies of Zhuan Falun. According to insiders, the police also arrested an older woman practitioner at the same time.

3. [Linqu County, Shandong Province] Personnel from the Zhifang Police Station Persecute Practitioners

Since the persecution began on July 20, 1999, personnel from the Zhifang Police Station followed Jiang's regime's edicts to suppress practitioners. According to incomplete statistics, six people from Zhifang Town have been sent to forced labor and 11 or more practitioners have been held at detention centers for long prison terms. The police have also extorted a lot of money from practitioners.

4. [Xianning City, Hubei Province] City Court Sentences Three Practitioners to Prison

At around 8:25 a.m. on March 17, 2006, charging them with membership in an undesirable organization and disturbing the social order, Communist regime agents at the Xian'an District Court in Xianning City, Hubei Province, sentenced practitioners Mr. Wang Lidi, Mr. Yu Jingguang and Mr. Xu Changhong to three and a half, three and a half, and three years of imprisonment, respectively.

The whole "trial" was conducted without permitting the practitioners to be represented by a defense lawyer, as guaranteed by the Chinese Constitution. They were also forbidden to defend themselves. Most people in the audience were from the 610 Office, the court, and police department. The authorities did not notify the practitioners' families about the trial.

When Chief Judge Li Yongjun announced the verdicts, the three practitioners still were forbidden to defend themselves. When the three practitioners called out, "Falun Dafa is good", the court police took them away.

5. [Tianshui City, Gansu Province] Practitioner Ms. Liu Xiaoming Sentenced to Four Years of Imprisonment

Practitioner Ms. Liu Xiaoming was sentenced to four years of imprisonment at the Qinzhou District Court, Tianshui City, Gansu Province. Ms. Liu has disabilities. In 2001 she was sentenced to forced labor, which was reported on the Minghui/Clearwisdom website. The police did not notify her family, but the Qinzhou District Court agents sentenced her to four years of imprisonment on March 10, 2006, with the charge of "hampering implementation of the law by membership in an undesirable organization."

6. [Boli County, Heilongjiang Province] Several Falun Gong Materials Production Sites Damaged and Practitioners Arrested

On November 25, 2005, police from Boli County and personnel from the Qitaihe City Police Department damaged seven truth-clarifying materials production sites and arrested 24 practitioners.

7. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Cheng Hua Sent to the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp

Practitioner Ms. Cheng Hua from Dalian City is in her 30s and lives near Sanba Square in the Zhongshan District. She is an employee of the Dalian City Railway Station. She was detained for six months after being reported to police for clarifying the truth of Falun Gong to people. Later she was sent to the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp prior to the 2006 Chinese New Year.

8. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] More Information About the Arrest of Practitioners Mr. Gao Ke and Zhang Xingye from the Daowai District

Mr. Gao Ke was arrested near Ershidao Street in the Daowai District for clarifying the truth to people. The next day, police used Mr. Gao's own key they had confiscated from him to enter his house while nobody was at home. They didn't find anything. However, they arrested practitioner Zhang Xingye who happened to go to Mr. Gao's home.

Mr. Gao is now being held at the Daowai District Detention Center and has been staging a hunger strike to protest the persecution. At present he has difficulty walking. A prison doctor said if he continues the hunger strike they may give him a transfusion, force-feed him or send him to a police hospital.

At present, personnel from the National Security Team of the the Daiwai Police Department are in charge of the arrest. Yang Jinhai is the team leader and Song Mengchun is the chief police officer. Their next step is to report the two practitioners to the Procuratorate for further persecution.

9. [Tonghe County, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Zhang Chunbo from Qinghe Town Forestry Bureau Arrested

On March 17, 2006, practitioner Mr. Zhang Chunbo, an electrician from Chaoyi Wood Company, Qinghe Town Forestry Bureau, Tonghe County, was illegally arrested while at work. The reason is unknown.

10. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Peng Hui Missing; Police Suspected of Arresting Her

About one-and a-half months ago, practitioner Ms. Peng Hui from Shenyang City was suddenly missing. It's suspected that police arrested her.

11. [Siping City, Jilin Province] Practitioner Mr. Wang Hongge's Health in Serious Condition; Personnel from the Shiling Prison Refuse to Release Him

Practitioner Mr. Wang Hongge from Changchun City was sentenced to 13 years of imprisonment and has been held for five years already. His health is in serious condition. His family members requested to have him released on bail for hospitalization. Shiling Prison officials refuse to release him and prevented his family members from seeing him. Mr. Wang's family has nowhere to turn for help and have to watch their loved one suffering torture.

12. [Beijing] Practitioners from Tsinghua University, Including Mr. Xu Yin, Arrested

On March 14, 2006, practitioner Mr. Xu Yin from Tsinghua University was arrested at home. He is now being held at the Qinghe Detention Center. Prior to this, two other practitioners from the university, Ms. Huang Feiping and Ms. Cai, were also arrested. Two additional practitioners are missing.

13. [Guan County, Hebei Province] Police Arrest Practitioner Couple Jin Tongyin and Sun Yaqin

In the beginning of March 2006, practitioners Mr. Jin Tongyin and Ms. Sun Yaqin from Xiaoliangqu, Chengguan Town, Guan County in Langfang City, were arrested while making truth-clarifying materials. The two practitioners firmly persisted in their belief in Falun Gong while being persecuted for several years. They were arrested, beaten, and tortured numerous times. They staged a hunger strike to protest the persecution. Their little daughter is now left at home without care and leads a difficult life. The detailed circumstances of the two practitioners are unknown.

14. [Tianjin] Tianjin Police Arrest Practitioners

On February 22, 2006, personnel from the Baodi District Police Department arrested five practitioners without reason. They are Ms. Jia Xuexiang, 50 years old; Ms. Jia Yuping, 55; Ms. Li Deting, 45; Ms. Tian Xiuyun, 40; and Ms. Qi Shufen, 58.

The five practitioners were studying the Fa together on February 22. Someone reported them to the police, who came and arrested them. In addition, their homes were ransacked.

15. [Tianjin] Several Practitioners Including Ms. Liu Jing Arrested

On March 11, 2006, the police arrested several practitioners, including Ms. Liu Jing, Ms. Li Huanv, Ms. Zuo Liping and Ms. Song from Tianjin University. The practitioners might be held at the detention center in the Tianjin No.1 Prison. Detailed information is unknown. In addition, practitioner Ms. Liu Yan has been closely monitored.

16. [Xuanhua City, Hebei Province] Mr. Chen Jianhua and Ms. Cui Jinxiang Arrested

On March 15, 2006, practitioner Mr. Chen Jianhua from Xuanhua City and Ms. Cui Jinxiang from Zhangjiakou City were detained when they went to the Zhangjiakou City Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Committee to clarify the truth. At around 6:00 p.m., personnel from the Shichang Street Police Station arrested Mr. Chen and sent him to a detention center for 15 days. Ms. Cui Jinxiang was also arrested by agents from her residential district police station. Detailed information awaits further investigation.

17. [Beijing] Mr. Zhao Haiying and Ms. Li Lingcan of Tuanjiehu in the Chaoyang District Arrested

On February 24, 2006, police from the Beijing National Security Team arrested practitioner Mr. Zhao Haiying from the Tuanjiehu Community. Mr. Zhao's wife, Ms. Bai Lingli, was arrested in 2005 and sentenced to forced labor. Nobody is taking care of their child, who is now homeless.

During the evening on February 24, policemen went to practitioner Ms. Li Lingchan's home in the same district. Ms. Li didn't open the door for them, but the police opened the door with a master key the next day and arrested her. At present, her whereabouts is unknown.

18. [Jincheng City, Shanxi Province] Several Practitioners Arrested

During the night of March 1, Jincheng City Police Department agents dispatched many police officers to raid practitioners in both rural and urban areas. They confiscated many computers, printers, and many accessories. This was the largest raid in Jincheng City since 2004. Seven or eight practitioners were arrested.

19. [Changzhi City, Shanxi Province] Police Arrest Six Practitioners

On March 1, 2006, Chen Yun, head of the "610 Office" for the Changzhi City Police Department, led more than 20 policemen to the Wangzhuang Mine of the Luan Mining Administration Bureau. They arrested practitioner Mr. Zhang Yanbing from work. They took him with them to ransack his home. Mr. Zhang shouted downstairs from his home, "Bad guys are arresting good people!" His parents and sister all heard his voice. Policemen went upstairs to knock on the door. His non-practitioner father opened the door. They forced their way in and started to search. They arrested his sister, practitioner Ms. Zhang Hongyan. On the same day, policemen went to Xiangyuan County and arrested practitioner Mr. Li Lin, Ms. Zhang Hongyan's husband.

Three more practitioners were later arrested as well: Mr. Yang Xuqing (Mr. Zhang Yanbing's father-in-law), Ms. Shen Xianying (Mr. Zhang Yanbing's mother-in-law), and Mr. Fu Changsheng. So far their whereabouts are unknown.

20. [Qionglai City, Sichuan Province] Practitioner Mr. Yuan Yongwen Has Been Held for 28 Days

During the morning of January 19, 2006, two officers from the Linqiong Police Station in Qionglai City arrested practitioner Mr. Yuan Yongwen when he was clarifying the truth to people. Police authorities ransacked his home. He was sent into the city detention center and held for 28 days.

21. [Changsha City, Hunan Province] Ms. Zhang Xinyi Has Been Transferred to the Hunan Province Women's Prison

On April 28, 2003, police arrested practitioner Ms. Zhang Xinyi from Changsha City, Hunan Province, and put her into the city detention center. They transferred her later to the Hunan Province Women's Prison. It's been almost a year. Ms. Zhang has been relocated from the newcomer team to the 1st Team of the 6th Ward, which is a specialized team for detention of practitioners.

Since Zhang Xinyi was sent to that ward, she has been subjected to intensified persecution. She has been forbidden to correspond with her family and cannot receive visits from them. Her letters to them have not been received. When her family went to the prison to get more information about her situation, police answered, "Zhang Xinyi hasn't had a good performance. She's so stubborn that she does not give up Falun Gong practice. Thus she cannot meet with her family. We will confine her in a solitary compartment! Correspondence with you will not be good for her "reformation". All her letters have been collected and sent to our supervisors."

Because of lack of communication with Ms. Zhang, we do not know her current situation, which make us worried about her. Ms. Zhang is a very good teacher. Only because of her belief in "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" has she suffered such inhuman persecution.

22. [Mianyang City, Sichuan Province] Practitioner Ms. Li Suhua Illegally Detained; Paralyzed Husband Left Uncared For

Practitioner Ms. Li Suhua is an employee of the Mianyang City 305 Factory. In January 2006, National Security special agents arrested her twice and have held her at the Mianyang City's Detention Center until now. Her husband is paralyzed and bedridden. He has cried every day since his wife's arrest.

23. [Jincheng City, Shanxi Province] Eight Practitioners Are Arrested

On March 2, 2006, police arrested eight practitioners from Jincheng City: Li Qibiao, Wang Shaohui, Zhao Feng, Zu Yuanbao, Wang Juhua, He Chunxian couple, and Suying (surname is unknown).

It was heard that some policemen often went to practitioners' homes. They pretended to be eager to know the truth of Falun Gong. Thus, practitioners were not alert. As a result, the policemen found clues on practitioners' personal computers and used that information to persecute them.

24. [Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province] Peng Peng is the Judge Who Illegally Tried Liu Yu

On March 20, 2006, Peng Peng, the judge from the Longgang District Court in Shenzhen City, tried practitioner Ms. Liu Yu.

She had to face the second open court at 9:30 a.m. on March 20 in Room No. 7 of the Longgang District Court. The judge is Peng Peng, who has participated in illegal trials against practitioners many times.

Ms. Liu Yu was a reporter for the Wenhui Newspaper. On March 30, 2006, policemen arrested her and held her at the Longgang District Detention Center for over 12 months. On October 21, 2005, Longgang District Court held court but failed to reach a verdict because of practitioners' righteous thoughts and actions.

26. [Qian'an City, Hebei Province] Police Persecute Practitioners

On March 15, police asked every practitioner in Caiyuan Town, Qian'an City, Hebei Province, whether or not they still practice Falun Gong. If the answer was "Yes," they arrested the practitioner and claimed they would detain him or her for 15 days. If the practitioner refused to write a Guarantee Statement during detention, he or she was directly sent to a forced labor camp for further persecution. If the answer was, "No," they forced the practitioner to write a guarantee statement on the spot.

Ms. Xu Zengyan, 39 years old, is a practitioner from Xiaoyang Village, Caiyuan Town. She was arrested and her house was searched.

27. [Overseas] Practitioners in Certain Overseas Areas: Please Pay Attention to CCP Secret Agents

1) Practitioners in the Russian Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), please note: The 7th Division of Heilongjiang Province Police Department and Mudanjiang City National Security Bureau in Heilongjiang Province are in charge of monitoring Falun Gong practitioners in these CIS countries. They dispatched secret agents and so-called informers to sabotage practitioners' activities. What they have done has been awarded the distinction of "Advanced Unit" by the National Security Bureau.

2) Hegang City National Security Bureau agents in Heilongjiang Province are aiming at practitioners in Taiwan. Currently, the National Security Bureau is rewarding these individuals generously.

3) Practitioner Zhang Yufu in Japan: please notice that the Qitaihe City National Security Bureau has found a classmate to act as an informer to entreat you to return to China, where you will be persecuted.
